Fantastic experience: Really nice dealership and nice people!!!
Negative experience: While buying motorcycle, they were super friendly and fast in completing things and even waited late after hours to sell me the motorcycle. They are absolutely lazy when you need service with no profit involved. Its been 2 months since I cancelled the extended service & GAP insurance on my motorcycle. But they still did not process my request. I called to follow-up at least 15 times in these 2 months. I even lost my (low-interest) refinance offer because of these Zootopia SLOTHS. i am never going back here.
Fantastic experience: Great Dealership! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Reasonable service and the technicians are top notch! Loved the used motorcycle selection and enjoyed looking at the new bikes!
Negative experience: Tim purposely miss led and would even go as far as lying to a very young Harley owner that consistently visits your store and he isn’t very helpful Tim needs to understand we pay his check and with out us he wouldn’t have a job so if Tim continues on his path I will assure you that you will lose my business

Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic. All around great place. I took the Motorcycle safety class and learned so much. The instructor Eric was patient and knowledgeable. After I passed the class the guys in service made sure I had a Motorcycle at the Secretary of State so I could take my test. I am now a licensed rider. Thank you everyone at Starved Rock Harley.

Fantastic experience: Great dealership , the staff was awesome and. Very helpful
Negative experience: Unfortunately this was my one and only experience with this dealer. I attempted to rent a bike while I was in town through Twisted Road. I initially attempted to rent a Street glide in which I did not receive any communication through the dealership however I did receive communication through Twisted road that the bike was not available. Harley told them that they attempted to communicate with me, however that was a lie I never received any email /text /phonecall. I gave them a whole entire business day and then some to communicate any issues however no communication was performed. I then attempted to rent a different bike ( Softail). To which I still never received any communication. I then had to go all the way to the Harley dealership to confront them in which it took about 10-15 minutes for the manager DJ to come talk to me to tell me that they don't have any motorcycles available. This all could have been avoided if they actually communicated this the other day. This has now cost me time with my friend to be able to go spend time on the bikes, in which I now have to look at other options. This is subpar customer service they truly did not care about me as a customer since I was not buying a bike. Harley has truly gone downhill over the last few years. This has truly shown me where their loyalties lie and their lack of caring. I normally do not do Google reviews unless a company has truly disappointed me and this is the case with them.

Negative experience: Do you believe that they told me they don't have anyone smart enough to work on an older bike? All I wanted him to do was change the chain. It's an 88. Last time I was there, they tried to charge me double for work. They didn't do.

Positive experience: I've never been to a Harley Davidson that did not have inventory of mens 2XL. I know they said they were waiting on a shipment, but I wouldn't be waiting for a low inventory number to get more, let alone no inventory at all. We would have bought about $150+ of t-shirts if in stock. My husband grew up in this area and was looking forward to getting some t-shirts to add to his collection. We are visiting for his grandfathers funeral and who knows when we will be back this way (currently living in Charlotte, NC). Maybe next time.
Hey Holly, I am truly sorry we didn't have a selection of 2XL t-shirts. It is well noted and I appreciate the feedback. Each order we have been doubling up on the 2XL #XL and 4XL sizes. Fantastic experience: Our stater went out on the way to our DOJ charity run. We were all meeting at Starved Rock Harley Davidson as this was the start up. The service department was able to get us in and out so we could go on the run. Thank you!!!! You guys are the best!!
Fantastic experience: Found out I needed a new tire 400 miles into a trip (bad planning I know). These guys got me in and out with a brand new tire in an hour. Saved me a headache and time!
Fantastic experience: Bought a used bike today and went completely opposite of the last motorcycle 2yrs ago. Very well taken care of and felt like i wasn't just someone who bought a used bike instead of a new bike, I got top notch service. Definitely go back for accessories and another bike when needed. Fantastic experience: Best customer service I’ve ever had at a Harley Davidson dealership. My bike broke down on the interstate and they not only were there to pick up my bike within the hour, they also had my bike on the lift within 5 minutes of being at the shop. Cleaned up and repaired at a great price. Bikers take care of bikers. So much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Steve, Jeff, D.J., Denise, and the whole crew were great. My wife and I came in to look at a trike she saw and liked online, but she saw the color in person and didn't care for it. Steve pointed out the Blue Burst one (secretly my choice) and she sat on it and said this is the one. Jeff, and D.J. worked out a fantastic finance deal. We LOVE it.

Fantastic experience: I bought a new bike from Jeff at Starved Rock Harley. I’m very happy with him and the whole dealership! Jeff was able to get me out the door on my new bike after trading 2 in and it was a busy Saturday. I got great treatment and still am. Thanks everyone there!
Fantastic experience: Read this knowing I am a Jaded old Harley rider who Hates almost everything about modern HD dealerships, I cut my teeth on dingy, old, dealerships where you were almost scared to go in! I miss those places so much! I just had them install/balance a new rear tire on my bike….100% satisfied, service/parts guy was great. The tire i wanted had to be ordered, he called when it came in like he said he would. I was bringing in my wheel only , he said i could drop it off before my appointment date and maybe it would get done sooner, as it turned out they had time to do it upon my drop off! Super! saved me a trip! And I was charged exactly the price I was quoted over the phone.(seemed like fair price considering I called a mom/pop shop who quoted “385$ for tire and between 50$ and 100$ to mount and balance”) Thx Guys for doing your jobs well! (Few and far between these days)

Fantastic experience: Bought a 2017 ultra cvo December 2023. Had reservations about the bike having sumping issues, but the bike was a certified pre owned, so it had a 12 month warranty. After the bike was delivered, I took it for a ride and as suspected it had sumped. I called Dakota in service and explained the situation, and he scheduled the bike to be picked up. Once the bike arrived at the service department, Dakota and his techs determined infact the bike was sumping. Long story short. Dakota took care of everything. Rebuilt the entire top end, new cylinders and pistons, as well as a new oil pump. Everyone went above and beyond to take care of the bike to make it 100 percent correct. Im very thankful for the fantastic service and personal attention that everyone gave me. Best experience Ive had buying a bike from any local Harley dealer. Fantastic experience: I've bought, traded and had several bikes serviced at Starved Rock, and I'm very happy with my relationship with their team. I don't believe there is such thing as perfect, but I'm always made to feel that my patronage is both important and appreciated. I think it's important to note that the service manager, Josh Diding, is a key ingredient to my experience. He's attentive, responsive, knowledgeable and just a generally good guy that I believe cares about the customer and providing a great product and service. For me, when it's time to buy, I've already made my decision on what, where, etc. And, while the sales person might answer a few questions on the spot or spend time helping me find "the one" I'm looking for, it's actually Josh that ensures I will buy from Starved Rock. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with my recent purchase.

Fantastic experience: Went here after looking to trade my bike in for something bigger. Looked at 2 other shops, then ended up here, talked to Jeff about what I was looking for with my Knee injury and how I like to ride. Jeff went over 3 bikes with me, showed me what was good on all of them for how I ride and how my leg would rest. I ended up riding out with a Heritage Softail, really love this bike. After talking with Jeff and riding on this bike, he has ensured that my next bike will not only be a Harley again, but that I will also be going back here to buy from them again.
Fantastic experience: Took my motorcycle safety riding course here and got my license the following week all thanks to them. I love it here they really do make u feel like part of the family. I will be recommending this location to my friends

Negative experience: pretty sad you can walk around the place for a solid 10 minutes and no one greets you and ask for help, then we you ask they seem annoyed… came in with the intentions of spending a good chunk of money but coming from the business that’s not how you run a store.

Positive experience: Bought a USED Harley a couple of months ago. However, waited around for a minimum of 20 minutes. Before anyone approached me. (Sales)! Then had to bring it back in for repairs. 3 times! Went to pick it up. And was there for 2 hrs 45 minutes. Waiting! No one AT ALL! Even came out or up to me to update me. I had to ask the status myself. I've heard bad things. And now I know, they were TRUE! WON'T GO BACK, unless I have too. Ok, my first review was based on my 1st experience. I will say that this 2nd experience was a 180 degree reversal. Jeff my salesman, totally remembered me. (Mind Blowing). I told him what I would like to do. And what I should have done before. Within an hour he told me about MY perfect bike. And lined up my financing. Made an appointment to come in, then it was done. I'm a proud papa of a 2019 FLHTK ELECTRA GLIDE ULTRA LIMITED. With a great overall deal.

Fantastic experience: I had a flat tire on the way home from Sturgis on a Sunday. No one is open but these guys are! Bills towing told me about Starved Rock. I finally made it there right before closing time and they put two guys on my bike to fix me up. I made it home to Ohio by midnight. Thanks guys. Your'e a life saver!

Fantastic experience: Was very pleased with Starved Rock Harley Davidson to go out of there way to pick up my girlfriend and I when our bike broke down. Thank you all for the help.
Negative experience: Happy with my bike for the most part. Test ride was kind sketchy when i came to a stop the bars where loos and i damn near droped it. The carb died on me but they did attended to that for me before i bought the bike. NOW HEAR IS WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR...thing like GAP inshurence added to your bill when you clearly state you would like to opt out. They do this on an e-sine form not on the paperwork. I noticed about 2 months after i was reading thur my paperwork. I called them up and explained what hade happend and they clamed they would fix it. Well there idea of fixing it is charging me $600 for Gap inshurence when the bike has sat allmost the full time i have hade it. Parts guys are grate and so is most the other staff but beware of when doing your E-SINE

I have dealt with other Harley dealers in the past but Starved Rock Harley Davidson being 30 minutes away will always be my go to Dealer for all my motorcycle needs these guys are the best and there staff is awesome.

Fantastic experience: Just bought a new 2021 Street Glide CVO... our sales guy Scott was upfront and made the process painless.
Negative experience: Second time I had something done here, 1st time was oil's all changed and go over it to see if it had issues, ok all I got told was its ok, you'd figure with what you pay for anything to get done they'd take pride and send someone out to talk about what issues might be coming, I got nothing, and that time didn't clean up oil mess from old doing the job, second time was to change clutch cable they did go above and help me out with a broke part I broke, but when I left the cop pulled next to me and said something about a headlight, so my headlight wasn't working, went back and they blame my light for not working had to tape connection, ok I was fine with all that, but I got home and went to wipe dust off and found they didn't wipe down anything, this was why I took it it cause I didn't want to have to do it, now I'm home when I planned to ride with a huge cleaning project, not that any of this is a huge deal, its that it should be part of the job they do, it sucks cause people are great in every department

Negative experience: Go with a different company go to Reiman's Harley-Davidson go to any other Harley shop just don't go to Starved Rock Looked at a sun glow red 2009 night FXSTB. Tire are 40% life on them 23k miles and massive dent in the fender! They where asking 10k or 11.675 with tax title and license. An would only come down $500 bucks. After a 66m loan the bike would have been 15k with interest. The staff as well as the manager was absolutely rude disrespectful and down right ignorant in there approach towards their customers. The fact that the owner said $500 off is all for a used bike? I found one the same year less miles and no damage for 9k. Even showed nada site that says 9k showed them the bike still didn't care don't buy a bike from these clowns. Piss poor bike selection and horrible sales staff..

Negative experience: Called for a week with cash in hand to buy a bike.. never bothered to return my calls. Filled out a credit application just to get their attention a week later... They still didn't call. Sold the bike I was trying to purchase and then argued with me that I had not called at all. Save your time and money, go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: Great staff and store. We went in looking for pet apparel they did not have any. The dogs got tons of attention from staff and customers, they love that. We felt so welcome and being from out of town were very pleased with service of staff.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Bad selection and every time you go in the employees act like you’re bothering them. I drive twice the distance to Conrad’s, at least they are helpful.

Positive experience: Though I do appreciate Starved Rock Harley Davidson helping me with some repairs on my 2006 Softail Deluxe, I am surprised at the quality of work performed by one of their master technicians. What would seem like a simple procedure.... to mount and balance tires has left me somewhat confused. When mounting the new “engraved whitewall” tire on the front wheel, the technician failed to remove the existing spoke weights before proceeding to balance the wheel. To balance the wheel, a total of 12 stick on .5 oz. weights were applied to the front wheel. The bike has HD Chrome 80 spoke wheels, and after calling several other Harley dealers I was informed by that the “chrome spoke weights” should be used to keep the aesthetics in line with the appearance of the wheel. The stick on weights are not meant to be used on this type of wheel, but used on mag type wheels. I called the service department and spoke with someone, trying to get this straightened out, as I am feeling rather disappointed. The response was not what I wanted to hear, service department said that they did not have spoke weights to fit my wheels and this is why they use the tape weights. This is even more confusing now because my front wheel still has spoke weights on it in addition to the 12 tape weights they applied. This the same dealership that installed and balanced these wheels using spoke weights when originally installed. October 28.... I did speak with Tim today (General Manager) and I will be taking the bike back to Starved Rock HD this Spring for them to re-balance the front wheel with "spoke weights" at no charge. Thanks Tim!

Negative experience: I'm a local here in ottawa and have bought a couple bikes here, not bad as far as finding a bike. I do have a problem with service though. I paid cash for a stage 3 to be installed, was told it'd take a week for parts and a day to install. It has been 2 weeks now and I still have no bike and on the last nice day it looks like for a while. I've called several times and it just seems like there is one problem after the other. I just dont recommend getting your bike serviced here unless it's something simple like an oil change.
hello Jovan, i spoke with our team at the shop and verified one of the oil lines on your build was leaking after running your bike on the dyno. I also confirmed that we have it ordered it "special order priority" from the Harley and will replace the same day we get it from the Factory. Fantastic experience: Awesome place. Very helpful. I have been searching for months for a bike. Shopping online, traveling across state to find the right bike. Went to Stared Rock. And salesperson name Scott. But he called Jr. Very patient, accommodating. I bought 17 Roadster. Have since went back for hel.ent shoes and jacket. I will not spend money at Conrad's. Fantastic experience: This Dealership out in The Cornfield of Illinois, is outstanding. We went to Chicago for a quick Vacation. And on the way home my wife had an accident on her Triglide. We were in Morris, Illinois. A guy recommended Starved Rock. We called for a tow truck. It came out of Ottawa. They towed us to Starved Rock. The staff was awesome and accommodating when we arrived. We left there Two up on my Triglide. Back home to western Iowa. They took care of everything with the insurance and got a call on Friday 8/23 to come and get it. We drove over and on 8/24 we picked it up. It was done when they said it would be. They even went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. And while it was there they installed Vance and Hines stage 1 on it ( pipes, fuelpak3 and air cleaner. With that said. I say thank you again to Tim, and Service manager Josh. If we ever need help again in that area we know who to call. And I will recommend them to my friends if they need anything in that area. If I had 10 stars that is what they would get. Top Notch Shop. Thanks again. So anyone just going down I-80. Stop in at Ottawa at Starved Rock and enjoy some good old down to earth hospitality.

Negative experience: Dont buy here they are better then you and rude. Go where you are celebrated and appriciated! Judy is a joke so are the rest of them. Unless you buy a bike then they are kind untill they got your money then its back to sub-human. Stuck up

Fantastic experience: Great shop great service- I had to run my bike in for a quick repair, dropped it off Saturday afternoon and Monday morning they called and it was ready to go. Staff here is super nice and everyone is very accommodating.

Fantastic experience: Starved Rock Harley, you are an outstanding example of what it means to be part of a brotherhood of riders. While driving a Yamaha scooter west across the country, I experienced a dead battery the morning of 30 July 2018, in Ottawa, IL. Yamaha dealerships are closed on Mondays, but Starved Rock Harley was open and there to help! They quickly picked up my bike, charged the battery, and I was on my way again. Negative experience: Garbage harley dealer I broke down had to replace my stator. I did almost all the work and still charge me $400.00+ For the job. The mechanic admitted at the end that I knew more about the Harley's than he did. I will never go back and I will tell all my friends and family!!!
Fantastic experience: Stopped here one Monday night after dinner with my wife. Wasnt even looking to trade my bike in, but i couldnt resist. They gave me great money on my FLHTC and a great price on a FLHX that i fell in love with. Friendliest staff around. Never rush you out the door at closing like other dealers do. It's an hour from my house. But its my go to dealership!

Fantastic experience: Being from the area I use to go to Starved Rock HD it Was always an ok experience, but the previous owners were there downfall. Currently they are under new ownership and I would recommend going there if the previous owners turned you away. Here is my latest experience I was traveling back home and had a issue with my 2016 streetglide, had no appointment and showed up they were willing to help and fix the issue they overnighted the part and was fixed the next day. Highly recommend going in and checking it out
Fantastic experience: I had the Best experience with Starved Rock HD back in December!!! I walked out of a another dealership that decided to jack me around even though I bought two bikes in the last 6 months from them. I contacted Tom V. at Starved Rock HD and we had a deal and financing worked out in 15 minutes! Absolutely my best bike buying experience ever! The service department is awesome and the parts counter is very knowledgeable.The ladies in the retail store went out of their way to help me find some warm gear for the ride home!
