Fantastic experience: Top Driver in McHenry is a great place for your kid to take drivers education and also to take their road test! My daughter had Samantha for her classroom teacher and for most of her in car driving lessons too. Samantha is the best at teaching the rules of the road in the classroom and also in the car! My daughter was a bit nervous to be behind the wheel and Samantha helped her gain the confidence she needed to be a safe driver. Another instructor, Dawn, helped my daughter gain confidence and get comfortable driving in the snow and they practiced safe maneuvers and precautions for winter driving, a good thing if you live in Illinois! Samantha also offered advice on how to make the most of her learning time behind the wheel and how to succeed as a confident driver. From her knowledge, positive attitude and sense of humor, Samantha created a great learning atmosphere. My daughter took her road test with Samantha and passed the first time! Dealing with Top Driver has been a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who has a teen that is ready to drive!!

Fantastic experience: First off I must simply say there's no other option for a better driving school in the entirety of North Illinois, this school presented a highly effective and complete safe driving curriculum that made me the driver I am today. My instructor Samantha was simply the best, no other instructor compared. All of the instructors are Highly professional and excellent teachers, everything is done efficiently, as someone who now has my license because of Top Driver and my instructor Samantha I would highly recommend this school to all who are looking to be the best of the best in all aspects of driving in the most effective way. If you need a driver's education look no further then Top Driver.

Fantastic experience: I came here from gurnee to do the driving portion and had the most amazing experience I could ask for driving.I was so nervous driving and have a fear of being confident in my self and my driving instructor Samantha helped overcome that fear.I would always hear scary stories of their driving instructor being mean always yelling,or never getting them to pass.You never hear someone say their excited to go to driving school,or sit in class.though I didn’t sit in her class I was so excited to go to driving she made the driving experience everyone should get to have come true.Thank you for the best experience top driver thank you for making me so confident in my self to drive now.And thank you Samantha for the best experience❤️

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Top Driver in McHenry. Samantha, my son's driving instructor was so supportive and made sure he was able to get all of his classes completed! She wasn't just his instructor, she actually cared about Logan and would even check on him monthly to make sure he was able to sign up for sessions. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The class portion is fine. Come to scheduling the drive sessions. Forget it. Once you actually can schedule the drives (a feat in itself) they call you a half hour before and cancel you. Then they make you call the customer service like to reschedule, back in the same tough que... But, don't be confident that rescheduled drive will even happen. Mine didn't. Customer service is a zero. I normally don't leave bad reviews, but this drive schedule is not working, and no one cares. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Update... After their response. Still no call back. My niece is so enrolled here currently and has has her drives canceled.

Fantastic experience: The instructor Samatha was awesome! My boys loved having her as an in class and driving instructor. She always let me know how they were doing and what they needed to work on behind the wheel. I would 100% recommend Samatha!

Negative experience: They promise in car lessons but the schedule fills up so fast you can’t get a spot. They don’t hire enough drivers for the amount of students. We were also promised pick-up at home- nope. Forget that. Been trying for three months and was told by the call center (in Michigan) that we would have to drive an hour away for two hour in-car lessons. Unacceptable. We will not be recommending this program.

Fantastic experience: Despite the struggles of trying to schedule a behind the wheel session outside of school hours, which was very frustrating-the instructor, Samantha, was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable, patient and kind to us. My son was very comfortable driving with her. He learned a lot from her during his lessons. She is an asset to the company.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just completed her course with Samantha, and it was the best experience I could’ve asked for! Samantha was always kind and super helpful, while also keeping classes interesting and fun. My daughter felt so comfortable with Samantha, we scheduled all her drives with her (you can choose instructors as a filter), and Samantha really helped her built confidence behind the wheel in such a positive, encouraging way. My daughter came out of this experience much more confident and interested in driving. I’d definitely choose Top Driver again, and would be thrilled if my other kids can learn with Samantha as well!

Fantastic experience: My son Logan just finished his top driver courses we actually live in Crystal Lake but it was hard to squeeze in a class. So we ended up going to the Mchenry location out of necessity. I'm so glad we did. Logan drove his first time there with the instructor Samantha and he never went back to Crystal Lake. She is just wonderful with the students. Logan felt so comfortable learning from her. It really makes a difference when someone truly cares about their job and their students. We are actually booking our driving test with her this coming January. She is absolutely the best and I would recommend if starting driving classes to definitely book with Samantha. Gina Lara

Fantastic experience: I loved doing drivers education with Top Driver and it was very fun. It was fun getting to meet new friends and a new teacher. My teacher was Samantha M, she was very kind, always positive, and patient with students. I did all of my in vehicle lessons with her because she was always very nice and helpful.

My daughter felt extremely prepared for her driving test and was given great instruction throughout the course both in class and behind the wheel. She was super friendly and we really noticed a huge jump of improvement in my son’s driving. Couldn’t say enough about her. It was also nice to be able to take the driving test through them instead of the DMV.

I really appreciated the option of either taking my teenager to the school or being able to have them picked up and dropped off at home for the driving portion. Fantastic experience: Top driver here is great! It was relatively easy to schedule appointments and the in car drives were relaxing and it was a calm atmosphere. Especially with Samantha as my instructor, the best top driver instructor. She was calm and chill, while still giving me advice on my driving. She also connected with me and helped me be less anxious about driving. I highly recommend top driving for learning how to drive!

Fantastic experience: what a wonderful experience with Amy Markowski! She helped get my sons hours in during these hard times to catch up from Covid. Not only did she teach him but she helped him understand to keep your attention on your driving and be careful all the time . He enjoyed driving with her and learned a lot. Great employee and a great asset to your company

Negative experience: Having mixed feelings, I had an amazing experience as a student. All driving instructors were very kind and understanding. Especially Mr. Graham, each lesson was well paced and very fun. It made driving a good experience for me, and allowed for me to make mistakes and grow as a student. However, it’s now been two weeks since I’ve finished the class and I went to take my drivers test only to be told that my completion of the course has not been sent to the state yet and I am not able to take the test. After calling both top driver and the Secretary of State, I’ve been told that top driver is at fault and would like an explanation as well as apology for lying to me.

Fantastic experience: My son enjoyed his experience at Top Driver and this is what he has to say for those students and families thinking about taking the class. When my other private driving program caused anxiety issues, my mom contacted Top Driver in McHenry. They were able to arrange the greatest instructor to work with me 1-1 (Thanks Nicole). After completing all of my sessions of behind-the-wheel, I was able to take the driving test for the state through Top Driver. I would highly recommend Top Driver to anyone who wants excellent instruction.

Negative experience: Zero customer service! Zero interest in helping the children. Worst scheduling system I’ve ever dealt with. Go ANYWHERE but here!

He was very personable, made us feel at ease even in stressful situations and had excellent communication throughout the entire driving lesson making it a very pleasant experience! My sister and I had very positive experiences and successful results from attending this driving school and I believe it wouldn’t have been possible without having Mr. Jaworski there to teach us! She is a shining jewel of a teacher! My son gets social anxiety and Tracy has made it easier for him to go to these classes. She really had the ability to relax the class and bring out their personalities while teaching them in a fun and friendly environment. My son learned so much from her. Words really can not express how thankful we are for your great classes and your awesome teacher, Tracy Murphy.

Negative experience: Enrolled our Autistic son in the program, cancelled therapy sessions and changed our schedules to make this happen. He was very excited to begin the program in 5 days. Email today telling us the class is cancelled due to low attendance. Not happy with Top Driver with the impersonal email and failure to provide options.
