Founded in 2007 by Fred and Nancy Lustenberger, FNL Driving School is a premier institution located in River Edge, New Jersey, dedicated to cultivating safe and confident drivers across Bergen County. Licensed by the state of NJ (License #000156730), the school has built a reputation for excellence by combining a supportive learning environment with highly skilled, certified instructors who prioritize student success and safety.

FNL Driving School offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to guide learners through every stage of their journey. For beginners, the flagship 6-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Training program provides in-person instruction tailored to the unique challenges of New Jersey roads. Additionally, the school offers a thorough 30-Hour Driver Theory Course, allowing students to master the necessary knowledge from the comfort of their homes. To ensure readiness, FNL administers state-approved knowledge and vision tests on-site, helping students skip the trip to the NJ MVC for these preliminary steps.

For those nearing the final stage, FNL provides specialized NJ Road Test Service, where instructors accompany students to the test site and offer expert preparation to maximize the chance of passing. Beyond initial licensing, the school helps licensed drivers improve their record and insurance rates through an Online Defensive Driving Course, which removes two points from the license. With flexible scheduling, including 7-day-a-week lessons by appointment, and a rich resource library featuring the "Ask Nancy" blog and a free "Parallel Parking 101" guide, FNL Driving School is the trusted partner for new and experienced drivers alike in New Jersey.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend FNL Driving School enough. At almost 37, I'm both a mother and (was) a terrified first-time driver. My calm, patient and encouraging instructor, Bill, transformed me into someone who was relaxed and confident behind the wheel. After the package of three lessons and a final morning-of practice session, coordinated with their friendly office, I aced my driving test. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: I took classes with another company 7 years ago, passed my drivers test, then never drove again. I found myself needing a refresher course as I relocated to NJ and can no longer depend on mass transit. FNL has been absolutely amazing. They are very responsive via emails/calls. They don’t push anything on you. I was simply asked what my experience and goals were. I signed up for the three class package and already see how this driving school is superior to the prior school that I took. The instructors are attentive, frequently giving constructive criticism and gems to help you remember the “tricks” to driving. Very happy I chose FNL.

Fantastic experience: Fnl driving school was fantastic from start to finish. Nancy guiding me right from the beginning with helping my daughter with her permit test. Russel helped her for the 6 hours of driving and bob got her through the road test! Thanks fnl for a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back when the rest of my kids are ready to drive!
