Fantastic experience: I can't recommend FNL Driving School enough. At almost 37, I'm both a mother and (was) a terrified first-time driver. My calm, patient and encouraging instructor, Bill, transformed me into someone who was relaxed and confident behind the wheel. After the package of three lessons and a final morning-of practice session, coordinated with their friendly office, I aced my driving test. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: Best driving school around. Nancy, Fred and their staff are proffesionals and take the worry out of learning how to drive. They are excellent in helping to prepare for your road test and obtain your drivers liscence. Highly Recommended.

Fantastic experience: I took classes with another company 7 years ago, passed my drivers test, then never drove again. I found myself needing a refresher course as I relocated to NJ and can no longer depend on mass transit. FNL has been absolutely amazing. They are very responsive via emails/calls. They don’t push anything on you. I was simply asked what my experience and goals were. I signed up for the three class package and already see how this driving school is superior to the prior school that I took. The instructors are attentive, frequently giving constructive criticism and gems to help you remember the “tricks” to driving. Very happy I chose FNL.

Fantastic experience: Fnl driving school was fantastic from start to finish. Nancy guiding me right from the beginning with helping my daughter with her permit test. Russel helped her for the 6 hours of driving and bob got her through the road test! Thanks fnl for a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back when the rest of my kids are ready to drive!

They went above and beyond to assist my son through his different circumstances. His instructor, Bob, was knowledgeable, helpful, personable, and a true mentor to my son who says that he would not have passed the driving test without Bob's excellent instruction and advice. All the people at FNL helped to make the experience painless for both my son and me, answering all of our questions and assisting us at the Motor Vehicle Commission. Fantastic experience: FNL helped me navigate the process from start to finish. There were a couple scenarios that we mistakenly missed a step and they were understanding and accommodating in keeping us on track. Our son felt very comfortable with the instructor and felt confident and well prepared. Consistent experience for all 3 of our children. Worth their weight in gold!!!!

Fantastic experience: Bob from FNL took our son for his road test last week. This service included a pre-test mini lesson prior to arriving at the testing center. When I asked him if he would recommend this service he said "absolutely!". He found it invaluable to review parallel parking and K turn prior to the test. In addition, Bob reviewed the test course and expectations with him as they were in line. He was calm and reassuring which is crucial. Last year, our son completed his 6 hrs of required driving with Chip. We found him to be patient and a great teacher. Our son was well equipped to being his driving journey! In two more years we will definitely be working with FNL again!!!

Fantastic experience: FNL Driving School is worth every penny. The instructors--Bob and Gary--are incredibly patient, calm and professional. They not only know how to drive and what to teach but they know how to teach in a patient and relaxed manner. I'm so grateful that they not only taught me to parallel park, but made sure I know to do it without their coaching, as well as know to correct myself if I am too close to or or too far from the curb. (I took a 2 hour lesson with Gary and a road test with Bob.) Nancy, the director of the school, was so patient and communicative in scheduling my road test and lessons even during the high demand of road tests and lessons due to COVID. I had taken the road test and some lessons once before with another NJ driving school and my experience with FNL was much better. So grateful!

Fantastic experience: Both Dane and Bob were great instructors. All 3 of my kids passed the first time. The review the morning of the driving test was just what they needed to calm their nerves. I highly recommend FNL driving school.

Fantastic experience: Every parent looks forward to, yet “fears”, the day that their child / children start driving. Time flys and all of a sudden permit day arrives. FNL Driving School (River Edge) was recommended to me and I proudly recommend them to others. I have used them for the six hour behind the wheel instruction, vision test, and refresher lessons for my twin daughters. I will also be utilizing them for their NJ MVC road test (fingers crossed). Nancy, Fred, and their staff are courteous, helpful, experienced, and easy to work with. They are flexible with scheduling and provide pick up and drop off services. I would like to thank all of the instructors and staff and hope that all the practice pays off with driver licenses on their birthday.

Negative experience: I usually do not like to leave negative reviews but the service that FNL provides just infuriates me. I had my road test planned for 9am but the instructor picked me up at 5:30 simply because of the fact they had another student. The driving instructor that took me for the road test was not the same person that I had done my 6 hours with. They charged me $130 and I failed my road test because they did NOT prepare me well enough for the test. The owner never answers her phone and is very rude when she does. I would recommend another driving school, Top Driving NJ!

Negative experience: I have never before posted a negative review of any business or service, regardless of the experience, but felt compelled to do so now. We decided to use FNL to drive my son to his driving test, despite the $250 cost, in order to reduce my son's nerves. The driver, who was scheduled to pick up my son at 6am, pulled up to our house at 6:35-- and when they got to the DMV, the instructor realized that he had forgotten his instructor's license at home. My son, who missed his appointment because the driver had to return home, was, not surprisingly, very nervous. They made it back, and the DMV was able to accommodate him--but in return for the $250 fee, FNL had left my son completely frazzled in the moments leading up to his exam. When I called to complain and ask for a refund, FNL was completely unapologetic and refused to admit that the instructor had done anything wrong. There are plenty of competing driving schools; there's just no reason to go with a company as unprofessional as this one!

Fantastic experience: I just finished today my 6hrs. behind the wheel driving practice and I'm happy and excited. I learned a lot from "Bigbap" (my super nice driving teacher he doesn't want me to call him sir hehe) I highly recommend FNL for new driver who wants to practice more and beginners. Fantastic experience: My experience was outstanding. They were on time, prices were competitive, and all their employees are very knowledgeable. Nancy and Fred are very easy to talk to and take pride in what they do. As a police officer in the town they live in I can attest to their professionalism and clean record. I have and will continue to recommend their services. As for the comment about one of their employees having an expired license, I'm sure it was an oversight and it would certainly be worse if it was suspended which it was not.

Fantastic experience: Tremendous - Pete was very professional. Stopped by my house to sit with my son and I to review all the paperwork, next steps and what was needed to get things started. My son enjoyed every minute and both Pete and Nancy made this process very easy. My son passed with flying colors and an invoice was sent - simple and accommodating. Fantastic experience: The best in the business! If you want to work with a team of individuals who go above and beyond on a daily basis to make your child's first time driving experience one to remember then look no further! The FNL driving school team work hand in hand with their clients to help them find their way along the complicate process the NJ MVC have established and abide strictly by. If you lose a permit they will help you, if you want extra lessons, to take the written test, or simply regain your confidence behind the wheel they are right there to help you along the way. It takes someone special to step up to the plate and teach our children, especially behind the wheel, but with confidence and expertise in their field FNL makes the process as stress free as possible for you! I promise you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: My son used Elia at FNL Driving School and was very happy with her teaching abilities! He completed his 6 hours with Elia to get his permit and also used her for a warm up on the day of his road test, as well as taking him to the road test. She was able to instill confidence in him while teaching him how to drive. In addition, she prepared him for exactly what the road test would be like. Elia was an excellent instructor and I would highly recommend her and FNL Driving School.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. While I was willing to move past the difficulty we had setting up the original 6 hour driving course I can not move past the debacle that was my daughter's driving exam. The instructor did not have a valid driver's license. It had expired almost a month earlier. This caused her to have to go to the back of the line and wait for another instructor to take her through the line. The worse part is when I spoke to the owner she told me that she doesn't keep any info on her employees driver's license because "that is their personal info" and all she cares about is that they have a valid license to teach. She actually tried blaming DMV for not catching it on previous visits with other students. $130.00 in cash paid to just take the driving test is not worth it with this school.

Negative experience: Return calls took over 2-3 day to get returned. When asking questions to Nancy the owner, she had a bad attitude, very unprofessional. We are her customer pay for her service & she is dictating to me what I need to do. Also I asked Nancy how long does it take to get the green permit card, she said it take about 3 weeks to go to DMV to get the permit. I called another driving schools & they get the permit in less than a week. I would not recommend using their service, it's not worth the aggravation.

Fantastic experience: Great Big Shout Out To FNL Driving School... For helping this busy mom out. Fred and Nancy were both very accommodating in setting up a schedule. My son attends Bergen Community College and they manage to work around his classes and took him out for his lessons. On February 27th FNL took Alex for his road test and he passed! :-)

Fantastic experience: Seems like so many years ago that I was calling FNL Driving School to teach my children to drive - Nancy and Fred are ever so patient and really cater to each driver - on the day my son was going for his test- Fred told him - keep your hands on the wheel (as his car was a stick so he tended to not do this) - they know what each driver needs - my son didn't and failed - but Fred warned him - Listen to the instructors ! My daughter passed no problem ! Thanks. AOM

Fantastic experience: My girlfriends son didn't pass the first time (we used a different school) and he was convinced he would never get his lisc. Nancy from FNL got involved and he was driving in less then a month! She was great- made him feel good about himself and his abilities and WAS the reason he passed. What a great school!
