Fantastic experience: Wheelie University in Ramona / San Diego, led by the Universities owner Brian, assisted by Marguerite, was fantastic! They provided clear guidance, making learning to wheelie on the Triumph Speed Triple achievable. I left with the confidence and techniques necessary to start practicing on my own bike. Highly recommended this training! 10/10

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience yesterday at Wheelie Univ. First and foremost I want to say that I have maybe 15 years of motorcycle experience but nearly 0 wheelie experience. I was a bit nervous going into the class but also excited. The class size was 8 people, which is perfect and there was a good range of skill levels. So... Safety. Safety is paramount in this class and it is treated that way. We all did instruction first, obviously, but the tone was never one of fear or concern. It actually helped alleviate some of my nervousness. Wheelie Univ. uses a device that will prevent you from looping the bike. That aside, it's up to you to learn the skills and listen to what feedback Brian provides and put it into action. Many other courses of this type use something that will compensate for too much. The result being that you leave those schools with a false sense of confidence. With Wheelie U, the only help you're getting is not looping the bike. Otherwise, its up to you. That said I felt like I left with a better sense of the various factors that can lead to a crash as well as a siiick wheelie. The instruction was sincere and productive. I never felt rushed to go beyond where I was comfortable. And I had a great time discussing both technique but also just random stuff about riding with the rest of the class as well as Brian, Kavi, and Marguerite. Brian runs the school. It's his baby. So he cares greatly about your experience but also he cares about you leaving with skills that you can apply. Also, he's just a rad person to talk to and super interesting. A few other notes: this took place at a drag strip. We were closed off from other people interrupting us. It was a controlled environment that felt very safe. That kind of stuff matters to me when I'm trying something new and unfamiliar and dangerous. I recommend that anyone taking this class has pre-existing motorcycle experience that they can rely on. You need to have a familiarity with motorcycles as well as with basic riding techniques, but otherwise the class gives you everything you need to become a better rider as well as someone who enjoys doing wheelies. The smile on everyone's face at the end of the day was crystal clear. We had absolutely 0 incidents and everyone walked away a bit more confident. You're not going to become a master at this skill in one day. However, you will definitely leave with an understanding of how to practice and improve. Instead of rambling on more about what a good time I had. I will just tell you that I highly recommend doing this class. My wife and I drove down from Sacramento to the San Diego area, so it was a little bit of a haul for us, however, there were people who had flown in from Illinois for just one day to do this class. It's totally worth it and you will be a better rider by the time you're done. Plus you'll be able to do dank wheelies. Good people, great class, top tier instruction. Cannot recommend this enough.

Fantastic experience: Great experience, Brian and I forgot the name of his assistant were very nice and helpful. I could get the front wheel up, but I was “slamming”, and was very scared of doing it. I feel much more comfortable with the whole process now, the cutting the throttle, throttling, and then finding the balance point. Would definitely recommend Wheelie University

Fantastic experience: This is and was an excellent class. There was no question that at the end of the day, I was a more confident and much safer rider. My intention with this class was not to learn how to do wheelies out in public, but more so to learn balance,control, and respect for the motorcycle/rider interaction. Brian and John took us through a well defined and purposeful step-by-step program, giving everybody full understanding of the what to expect through the day all while handling the anxiety and emotional aspect of what was about to happen. Everything from registration to when we all took a group photo at the end was outstanding. I would highly recommend every motorcycle rider who simply wants to become a better rider and more closely master the interaction with the motorcycle take this course. Great job Brian. I will be back.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely an amazing day! The best organized and most professional of all schools available. Do your research and you will see that the program Brian has put together has years of proven success! Extremely professional in a controlled and safe environment. I've been riding for many years, regardless if a novice or weekend track rider, Brian and the system he has created will allow you to challenge yourself and allow you to "learn" in a very safe environment. Brian is a pro and will slowly "dial you up" when you demonstrate you're ready to move to the next click. The amount of ride-time vs break time is perfect and you just keep cycling run sessions till the sun goes down. You will sleep well that night. Brian is the ultimate professional; the Triumph triple is absolutely awesome. I highly recommend this course!

Fantastic experience: Out of any wheelie course, I'd hands-down recommend Wheelie University every time. Brian has created a course that combines theory, human psychology and visual content that allows you to break any previous bad habits, allowing you to safely become the badass you've always wanted to be. Not only did I learn how to wheelie, but I also got to experience of why people fall in love with motorsports. I got the motorsport community from someone with decades of experience. The extent the Wheelie University Team goes to help you grasp such an abstract concept really shows when you get the bike up for the 1st time since I'm a visual person who struggles with purely verbal learning. In between sessions, we got to sit down and talk about a wide range of subjects from the "Isle of Man" to "Why You Shouldn't Leave Your Clutch Engaged at the Stoplight"; both of which would be boring to my coworkers in the real world. Listening to music, eating lunch and also watching the team do some ad-hoc stunts left me considering signing up again for the next course. You won't learn how to wheelie from nicer, more experienced professionals than Brian and Cooper at Wheelie U.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience! Brian takes what is generally terrifying, namely wheelie'ing a 400 pound motorcycle, and breaks it down into safe, learnable steps. Even better, you get to learn on his bikes - with the added benefit of his proprietary safety additions. The instruction is top-notch, the other attendees are few, mature and supportive, and the day is well planned and fun. Highly recommend!

Bryan has created a system that allows anyone with motorcycle riding experience to learn how to ride a wheelie safely. He and Landon were extremely helpful and coached us all throughout the day. I loved it and would recommend this class to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Good Guys, great course. Can't really add to all of the great reviews, other than maybe wear some thin glove liners. Got a good sized blister on the inside of my throttle thumb. If that's not a great recommendation of a fun day, I don't know what is! Everything is well designed from the bike hardware to the software to the course itself. It's exactly what I was looking for, and I was very impressed with how everybody in the class got excellent results. These guys will get your nose in the air, just about guaranteed!

Fantastic experience: Wheelie University was a fantastic experience that delivered visible results in one day. Thanks to the top-notch instruction of head instructor and owner Brian Steeves and his assistant instructor Cooper, I was able to go from being tentative and unable to get the front wheel up at all in the morning, to being able to do fairly consistent wheelies by the end of the day. Brian and Cooper gave effective personalized feedback throughout the day. I could tell Brian loves what he does and is very knowledgeable and skilled. Equally important, he showed great professionalism, communication, and a commitment to all of his students’ success. His method of tackling the fear and survival instinct that are counterproductive to being successful at wheelies really addressed the fundamental reasons I have held myself back from giving wheelies a real attempt for many years, despite the desire to do so. Wheelie University gives you all of the tools you need to get started with being successful at performing safe, controlled wheelies. Brian provides you with a solid methodology to build upon which teaches you the fundamental concept behind how a wheelie works. I look forward to progressing on my own, and I would definitely go back to the school to get to the next level.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience with wheelie university. I had signed up for their wheelie class with high expectations, but unfortunately, life threw an unexpected curveball my way. My father suffered a stroke, and his health became my immediate priority. I reached out to the owner a week before the class took place in the hopes of either rescheduling my class However, his response was far from empathetic. Despite explaining my situation and the dire need to be by my father’s side during his recovery, he rigidly stuck to his policies, denying any possibility of rescheduling. I understand that businesses have policies in place to maintain operations, but one would hope that in exceptional circumstances like mine, a little bit of understanding and compassion could be extended. The lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate a genuinely unforeseen situation is disheartening, to say the least. I had heard positive things about wheelie universitys class and was eager to be a part of it. However, their response to my situation has left me feeling unsupported and dismissed. It’s a shame that a school that boasts about teaching skills related to balance and control can’t seem to find a way to balance their policies with basic human empathy. I hope that future customers who consider enrolling with this school will take this review into account. It’s essential to choose an institution that not only provides quality instruction but also understands the challenges that life can unexpectedly throw at us. Unfortunately, my experience with this school has left me with a bitter taste, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking a compassionate and understanding learning environment. (Edit response) The owners response is that i called for "personal family reasons" is incorrect i told my exact issue that my father had a stroke and is in the hospital i have to be there for my father and his immediate response was that he couldn't reschedule with no compassion or sensitivity ..... he suggested i gift the class to a friend or someone in a facebook group that was his solution...i never asked for a free class i asked to re schedule...

Their positive feedback loop helps you start and maintain wheelies is the best! This entire program is top notch from the start to the end. Brian's proprietary systems on the bikes gives you a lot of confidence to learn wheelies. With either Brian and Cooper giving you feedback, you can directly apply what they're suggesting in real time which makes you accel in the program. I will be coming back again for the experience!

Fantastic experience: Up there with the best. The day is well organised and professional, with a relaxed fun vibe. The initial theory lessons are hands on and address all of the wheelie related concerns. Brian is an outstanding teacher. Enthusiastic, patient and easy to understand. He will happily take you for 2up wheelies, so you can feel for yourself exactly how far up the bike can safely go. The equipment can be set to allow you to pull vertical wheelies, all while preventing you from looping the bike backwards. All the participants get heaps of practice time. I’ve been actively riding for almost a decade, and have done all sorts of advanced roadcraft and track riding training. However, I was always too scared to try wheelies, out of fear of damaging my bike, injuring my body, and also hurting my ego. I went from being fearful, to doing wheelies, before lunch. By late afternoon, myself and all of the other participants were consistently pulling higher and higher wheelies. I’ll be back for more the next time I visit the U.S.

Fantastic experience: Was kind of pressured into doing this course, was a little anxious night before, yet super excited. Brian explained everything so well, always speaking safety and showing how easy it really is. I had a blast and recommend WU to anybody wanting to learn to be an expert in doing wheelies.

Fantastic experience: This is the best motorcycle course I’ve ever taken. Not only is it well-organized and well-taught, both Brian and Cooper are patient, passionate, highly-skilled riders. The class size allows for ample seat time and you will 100% learn to power wheelie using his technique. Our class was diverse with a mix of long-time track guys as well as newbies like myself that have less than a year of riding experience. Every single student was confidently popping wheelies within their first 15 minutes of getting on the bike. This technique translates to other bikes and Brian is all about safety so you don’t have to worry because he will take care of you. I was nervous at first about getting on a literbike because I’ve only been on my 300cc ninja but both Brian and Cooper made sure I was comfortable. I also want to say Brian went above and beyond for me personally. I was low on gas and asked if I could pay him for a little just to make sure that I could get to the nearest gas station. Without hesitation, Brian filled up half my tank and refused to take payment. After the course, I was making my way down the road when I ran off the road and tipped my bike over. I got in contact with Brian who not only made sure I was safe but, without any hesitation, loaded my bike into the back of his truck, drove approximately 40 miles to my mechanic, unloaded my bike, and let me know which parts I’d need to replace to get it running again. Once again, he did this all out of the kindness of his own heart! Brian is one of the best human beings I have ever met and I don’t think I can ever repay him. Someone make this man the next president!!!

My class had a range of participants...need to wheelie longer or learn how to, I never tried but I learned a clear idea of how. I walked away with skills and steps to work on my own bike. Just sign up... and do it.

They explain things in a simple-to-understand manner and have a great training program that allows you to move up according to your own progress. Fantastic experience: This school was amazing! Brian and his team of coaches (Connor and John) for that day were very helpful in getting all of us in the class to get those wheelies going. The tips they gave along with the homework assigned, get you prepped to take those skills and improve on what’s learned. Keep in mind you’re learning power wheelies, not clutch up wheelies, this allows you to experience that fun and fast wheelie that we all love seeing! Fantastic experience: Had this on my bucket list for a couple of years. Great experience. Super thorough. Brian is a great and knowledgeable instructor. He's very encouraging. He really emphasizes safety and responsible riding. That first wheelie attempt is a little nerve-racking but he's prepared you well so that you feel in control right away. I really enjoyed the small class size as we're able to get individualized feedback. His co-instructor, Cooper is equally as helpful and encouraging. A great pair of coaches. Fantastic experience: Well worth every penny. I've never attempted a wheelie- too scared to ruin my bike and myself. Brian and Cooper were amazing teachers. They were very thorough and explained every facet that makes a wheelie work. They start off by putting you in a wheelchair- weird, right? But it's an effective learning tool to start students thinking about balance points, as you try to pop up your feet and work your hands to find that sweet spot on which to lean back without going over. Class size is small and you get plenty of riding time- trust me when I say you'll want the breaks in between! Brian's wheelie aid prevents you from rolling yourself backwards, but it doesn't provide too much help- which is good because you're able to gain solid skills to take home and wheelie safely on your own bike. Snacks and lunch are provided- simple, yet good. The track's bathrooms may not be accessible, so be prepared to get up close and personal with nature when it calls. (I was the only woman there and I made it work!) Brian closed things out by inviting us to contact him if ever we forget how to do something or if we have questions. Overall, super supportive teachers and positive learning environment. Don't risk trying wheelies on your own. Learn the right way through the safest method available.

Fantastic experience: I always wanted to be able to do a controlled wheelie but didn't want to damage myself & bike trying. Brian & Coop were really excellent instructors. They took riders from average & advanced abilities and had us all improving session by session through the day. Bikes are set up with a device that prevents flipping bike so riders can find the wheelie posture & sweet spot without the over-rotation anxiety. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Can’t speak enough about how amazing this class was. From the sheer experience of Brian (instructor) to the confidence his engineering instills upon the student. After every mistake I made, or was making, he’d just chuckle, and told me EXACTLY how to correct. And damn if it didn’t work every time. Having no wheelie experience to hitting 2-300’s at 10:00 by the end of the day was awesome. It ain’t cheap, but it’s cheaper than looping your own bike. Yes, I’m goin again.

Fantastic experience: I traveled from Texas to join his class. I was able to do my first wheelie at the end of the course. I felt like it was money well spend and Brian was able to answer all my questions before hand and I would take the course again. Get plenty of rest before your class as you will have a long day. The course is worth the wait!!

Fantastic experience: I had been planning to attend with my younger brother last year but of course Covid happened and threw everyone’s lives into disarray. I had to reschedule one time and then California restrictions forced some courses to be cancelled. I finally was able to get out this past weekend and it didn’t disappoint at all! The small group size and ability to rotate in pairs worked out perfect. Practicing wheelies all day wears you out more than you’d expect. It was a little overcast and chilly at the start but by mid day it was perfect. The location was pretty awesome, tucked away in the hills of Southern California. The best part of the course is the safety aspect. Everyone wants to wheelie but being able to learn the basic mechanics with minimal risk and this does exactly that. We had a small technical problem but these are motorcycles and that is bound to happen some time or other. The instructors kept their cool despite a frustrating situation and that speaks volumes to their professionalism. I’m probably going to go back at some point with my brother of course! Thanks again Brian and Cooper!

Fantastic experience: It's been a recent goal of mine to take at least one motorcycle course every year. This one was at the top of my list. Brian and Cooper were both awesome instructors and very encouraging. Really gave me the confidence to wheelie. The course was a great value and I highly recommend taking it to add to your skills as a motorcycle rider.

What you learn and experience in a day was more than I could ever figure out or have confidence to do in an entire year of 'testing' how to do a wheelie. Well worth it and the instructors are amazing.

Fantastic experience: The course was very well organized and the instructors, Brian and Cooper, were absolutely phenomenal. They are full of energy and demonstrate a passion for teaching that I have rarely seen. They pay attention to each participant in the course and they adjust their comments to improve individually. The motorbikes and the methodology is such that they allow each participant to progress at a different pace. From those who had never popped a wheelie in their lives to those who had already some previous experience, all had a path forward. Fantastic experience: The most impressive thing about Wheelie University are the coaches. Brian and Cooper were enthusiastic, entertaining and truly cared about being a good coach and your safety. Fantastic experience: This was a rewarding and educational experience for me. Brian and Dave employ a 360 approach to learning the art and intricacies of the wheelie. The focus on the mental aspects of human fears and reactions to being in a wheelie helped tremendously in preparing myself for stretching my limits within a controlled environment. Their wheelie control device is also very inventive and unique. I highly recommend this class to riders of all experience levels.

Fantastic experience: If you want to learn to wheelie and don’t want to get hurt, wreck your bike or get a ticket, this is absolutely the place to go. With Brian’s excellent instruction and equipment, you’re lifting the front end by lunch time and popping respectable 10 o’clock wheelies by the afternoon! The small class size is awesome with a lot of time on the bike and personalized instruction. 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Epic. Wheelie U is definitely worth the cost of admission. Unlike bring your own bike classes, Brian has specially prepped bikes that provide an electronic limiter to safely get you acclimated with different heights. Before the class, my goal was to fairly consistently get the front up in the air. Brian and Nick got us to that point by lunch! Brian runs a structured setup with great feedback. This isn't some fly-by-night operation; Brian is the real deal when it comes to instruction and explaining the dynamics. Brian was also awesome enough to give us two-up rides. The two-up helped my confidence a ton as it just reset my brain on how high balance point was. I went in just hoping to get the front up. By the last session, I was getting the front up over 90% of the the time and actually carrying the wheelie a bit. This class far exceeded my expectations.
