Broussard Driving School

Fantastic experience: I sent my son Broussard driving school. Best experience. He enjoyed it, he said the instructors were nice, easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: I submitted everything for my daughter’s behind the wheel training in September. The school was unable to schedule her until November. She completed 5 of the required 7 sessions. The last 2 were cancelled very last minute by the instructor. I have made multiple attempts to reschedule the final 2 sessions so my daughter could receive her certificate for licensure however the office never returns my calls. Either refund my money or send the certificate. This is ridiculous. Edit: My daughter continued to have difficulty scheduling driving times even after this review was acknowledged by this business. While Mrs. Broussard and office staff were extremely nice and accommodating, the instructor continued to cancel appointments very last minute and didn't even bother to show up to one appointment. This was extremely inconveniencing as my daughter had to wait 45 minutes alone on the steps of the building until she could be picked up. Mrs. Broussard showed remorse and offered to give my daughter her driving test without extra charge. Once my daughter completed her hours and her test, we were forced to wait an additional 2 weeks to receive her sealed packet because the driving instructor failed to submit it as promised. I added one extra star to this review only because Mrs. Broussard was so nice and responsive to my concerns. If you plan on choosing this driving school, make sure you are in direct contact with Mrs. Broussard to confirm all driving times and ensure accountability from the driving instructor. Best of luck.

Negative experience: No No No… Very irresponsible- Very unreliable. Enrolled my son in March. In person Class started 1st week of April. My son finished all passed his test got his permit. That’s when the nightmare started to schedule behind the wheels classes. We are heading to the middle of November and he has NOT HAD one single class, they keep canceling. Mr Kent don’t even have the decency to call ahead to cancel, it’s always last minute 1-2 hours before class. My son is in high-school, he has his activities and work to do. We plan accordingly to our lives routine. Work - school - sports - activities etc… But they are not responsible AT ALL. At this point I want my money back and I’ll find a serious school. I can not say if the school is good or bad. But they are not reliable.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with Telma . She was amazing, I can’t explain how confortable I was with her. I really recommend this place …everybody is nice.

Fantastic experience: This is a little overdue, but I absolutely loved it here! I was very nervous before taking my driving test and I didn’t get the instructors name, but she made things so comfortable for me! I was at ease the whole time and her presence was overall comforting! She was very professional, but very understanding of the environment we were in, so she made sure to keep everything at ease! Love this driving school! Quick and efficient experience! Thank y’all!!

Negative experience: This is an overdue review - sorry I didn't post sooner to spare you all. I took driving classes here in 2020/2021 and it was absolutely horrible. Mr. Kent was consistently late and canceled on me last minute multiple times. It was so last minute that I was already on my way. Not only that, but he would provide comments that were discouraging and did not offer any tips. He would always hit the brakes just before I did when we were in no danger - this did not give me a chance to practice. He also used pressure tactics so I would purchase more classes as soon as possible. I chose this place because I was fooled by the positive reviews which I suspect are fake - at least for driving classes - and because it was inside the loop but there are schools that pick you up at no charge so location doesn't matter. By chance, I met another student at the school I switched to - she also had Mr. Kent and told me her experience w Broussard was awful. She didn't even bother attending the rest of the classes she paid for - no refund issued of course. Save yourself time, money and frustration - avoid this place!! Additional details in response to the school's reply: I called the school in 2021 to bring up my dissatisfaction but was told I could not be issued a refund because I paid Mr. Kent directly. Mr. Kent told me I had to pay him directly for classes so I made the payment to him rather than the school. No recourse was offered from the phone call. Mr. Kent pushed me to buy more classes to "get on the schedule," which fills up "quickly" - if I did not, I would have to wait awhile to take classes. I do not know the school's official policy but this is what happened.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Thelma for my road test. I was nervous before the test and she was confident and professional which put me at ease. Very kind and friendly service, the office and classrooms are beautiful and welcoming, too. I would recommend this driving school for anyone looking for professional and friendly service.

Negative experience: I am apalled by how unprofessional the instructor was. (1) He rescheduled his classes multiple times. Often, this was last minute; a few times, I only found out he is not coming after waiting for a while in front of the office. (2) While I drove, he constantly looked at his phone, or turned on the radio or sought some kind of distraction. Indeed, he paid attention to the road, but this is still not nice in my opinion. (3) I don't think he ever bothered to learn my name. One time, he confused me for someone who has a son, even though I explicitly told my name. (4) I told him that I am from India, and a couple of times he told me that I can't drive here like it is India. He also told me that his other Indian students took a lot of time to learn (5) He is not a very good teacher. He expected me to know certain information which I just did not know. He also shows very limited empathy when you are not able to master a skill.

Fantastic experience: I took driving courses from this school and gave the driving test through them. The whole experience was overall 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I am a new residence to the Houston, Texas area and I had to retake a driver's test bc I relocated and I must say I was please with the owner Mrs Broussard and my Driver instructor... Both were very pleasant, respectful and beautiful inside and out.. I hope my two youngest decide to relocate bc I will be recommending(and anyone else) that they take their road test with BDS so they can feel comfortable and not nerves....

Fantastic experience: I took the driving course and test at Broussard Driving School and then did the required visits to the DPS as instructed. Everything went like clockwork, thanks to the informative, professional, accommodating support I received from Thelma at Broussard's, not to mention the upbeat, encouraging mood I felt dealing with such a great instructor. All in all, it was an exceptionally positive experience. If I ever need the services of Broussard Driving School again, I absolutely will go back, and I'm grateful it is there for me. Six stars!

Fantastic experience: I have not been disappointed when it comes to Broussard driving. Both my nephews, my niece, and now my son has been successful students at Broussard. Very professional, and thorough with instruction and learning. This by far was the best investment/decission I could have made in choosing Broussard to teach my family how to drive. I highly reccommend Broussard driving school to help with your childs's driving. Also, Jas is by far the best communicator/instructor there is. She has a nitch and way with the students that keeps them interested. Look no further than Broussard! I have a 14 year old that will be attending next! Thank God.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, my son's instructor was rude. Also, he sometimes came late and did last minute changes to the appointments. My son didn't want to go again and I lost my money. I requested the difference to be paid back to my card, but they asked me to be over there in person, and because I am not a confrontational type of person, I decided to live it like that without getting my money back. Now my son is with another driving school.

Fantastic experience: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-mazing!!! My son got in the car excited to tell me everything he had learned in class from Ms. Rasmus. On the way home, he was pointing out freeway and traffic signs and telling me what they mean. I recommend this driving school to anyone because it came highly recommended to me and I am pleased!

Negative experience: The in-class instruction with Ms. Thelma went well. However, the behind the wheel class was less than perfect. The class had me wait for a month, understandable if they are busy. Then when my class day arrived, the instructor Mr. Kent cancelled the session the same day. He was often unreachable and unresponsive. For my second class, he was nowhere to be found: not in the school, not in the parking lot, and not responding to texts and calls. Just as I left the school and informed him of doing so, he texted back claiming he was already at the school. I have been quite frustrated. It is a bit strange that most positive reviews here were written by people who reviewed only this school and nothing else (no restaurants, venues, other schools, etc).

Fantastic experience: I have the most positive experience with Broussard driving school. Once I enrolled to combo pack, they gave me a call and scheduled dates for lessons. Mrs Broussard was teaching and she was really attentive, patient to explain every detail of rules and signes. After that I have scheduled 6 hourse of driving lessons. Before to come to Broussard school I tried to take driving hours with other instructors and that was waste of my time and money. I should have came to Mr Kent directly, as he really teach how to drive, how to react and take decisions when driving. I liked his practical method of teaching as he gives you freedom to take decisions, watch you and after maneuver he would explain how to do it correctly. I saw some negative comments on punctuality and other stuff, well, I have always got messages ahead if there are any changes in schedule, so there was no problem from my experience. And if I couldn’t come to lesson, they were very flexible to put me in another slot, and I really appreciated it! I highly recommend Broussard driving school if you want to learn from professional instructor, get help and directions in obtaining driving license.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took her road test at Broussard's. Five stars is not enough. The entire experience was great & very professional. Calls were returned in a timely manner, information was given very precisely. Once we arrived, EVERYONE we came in contact with was very friendly & outgoing. It was a pleasure meeting Ms Ramsey(hope I got it right) & Ms Broussard. The sweetest people I've ever met in a business. I wish I had chosen Broussards for my daughters drivers ed course also, but my son will definitely attend. Kudos to Broussards Driving School, keep up the good work & professionalism.

Negative experience: I will definitely not recommend this school,had a very bad experience I chose this school because it was cheaper and flexible in timings but ended up wasting money, I paid 300 was scheduled 6 classes and experience was ok! I needed more classes so Mr kent( driving instructor) suggested me pay him 300 dollars for 8 classes instead of 6 so I paid him and I was never able to take those classes I took 4 of them and that too months apart mostly the car ill break down or rains. I asked him to refund my 150 dollars but they never came back..I don't think I learnt much in these classes as they were months apart,A very bad experience wont recommend it to anyone

Negative experience: I would not recommend it for anyone expecting good quality service. At first people at school were very nice and theory course was pretty informative and short. It seems to be better for teens though. But... Punctual instructors? Meeting the deadlines? Keeping the appointments? Personal approach? Never heard of it. I had to contact the school owner to stop waisting my time waiting for the lesson to start or before I call the instructor and he would say the car is being repaired.. After more than 3!! months since the first lesson finally made it to DPS and... The instructor didn't bring the insurance to the driving test along with the car and said it wasn't his fault... I passed the test an hour and a half later though, so if you think it's worth all the nerve-wrecking... But I personally hope you'll never have the same experience as I did..
