Comprehensive Driver Education and Convenient Testing

Austin Driving School provides a fully integrated driver education program for teens in Texas, combining both theory and behind-the-wheel training. Their curriculum is designed to meet state requirements, including the 32 hours of theory, 7 hours of driving, and 7 hours of observation, alongside the additional 30 hours mandated by the Less Tears More Years Act. With 18 locations across Texas, they offer flexibility for students to complete their coursework through online or offline methods, ensuring accessibility for families throughout the state.

Professional Instructors and Positive Testing Experience

Many students highlight the exceptional quality of their instructors, particularly noting educators like Richard Peevee and Matthew for their patience, professionalism, and ability to build confidence. The school is authorized to conduct official DPS road tests at multiple locations, allowing students to take their exam in familiar surroundings rather than at the Department of Public Safety office. Reviews frequently praise the test environment as supportive and pressure-free, with examiners providing clear guidance and encouragement to help students succeed.

Key Services and Features

  • Integrated Curriculum: Combines online theory with practical driving sessions.
  • DPS Authorized Road Tests: Convenient on-site testing at 18 locations.

Negative experience: Hailey is the face of the Austin Driving School as secretary of the Bryan, TX location. She will absolutely give your student the Heisman as if they are on the bad-boy list. She controls the schedule and will only let you schedule one driving session for the following month after each lesson, ensuring that you cannot complete the driving portion of the course in less than eight months. This location is desperate for driving instructors and sorely needs a good scheduler to replace Hailey.

Negative experience: Hailey is going to single-handedly ruin this place. Everyone else there is friendly. Hailey is rude to everyone, including the people that work there. She argues with co-workers in front of kids and customers. Totally unprofessional. She refuses to schedule driving sessions per corporate policy. Everyone else is nice and helpful and the information they give out is correct and helpful. If you need to schedule driving time, others in the office can help you so ask for anyone but Hailey if you want good customer service and accurate information.

Negative experience: Corporate was horrible as they were hostile over the phone and even hung up on me. The people working in person at the Bryan office are not any better. They misguided me in getting my license removed. I AM STILL WORKING ON TRYING TO GET MY REFUND!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! GO TO DPS!!! (now I see why people don't work here for too long...)

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and unorganized. Scheduled to do a “drive test “ , instructor was very rude and unprofessional before I even got in the vehicle , so I didn’t take the test , and requested a refund . Take your money else where , this place is cheaper but they lack professionalism and respect .
