Silver Start Driving School

Located in Takoma Park, Maryland, Silver Start Driving School is a premier institution dedicated to guiding new and experienced drivers through their licensing journey with professionalism and care. Whether you are a teenager preparing for your first license or an adult seeking to renew credentials, the school provides comprehensive, MVA-certified programs tailored to individual needs. All instructors are professionally trained and licensed by the Motor Vehicle Administration, ensuring that every student receives high-quality, personalized instruction in a supportive environment.

The school’s flagship 36-Hour Driver Education Program is a mandatory requirement for new drivers in Maryland seeking a provisional license. This robust curriculum combines 30 hours of thorough classroom instruction with 6 hours of practical behind-the-wheel evaluations, ensuring students master both theoretical knowledge and real-world driving skills. For those who already hold a driver’s license from another country, Silver Start offers the 3-Hour Roadway Safety Program, a streamlined course designed specifically to meet MVA requirements for converting foreign licenses to Maryland credentials.

Understanding that driving skills vary, the school also provides specialized services such as the Driver Improvement Program (DIP), which offers an efficient way for drivers to dismiss traffic violations and improve their records. Additionally, Silver Start supports learners at every stage with extra behind-the-wheel practice sessions, parking maneuver drills, and certified translation services in Spanish. With flexible scheduling, convenient online registration, and a location accessible from their Takoma Park office, Silver Start Driving School makes achieving your driving goals accessible, convenient, and stress-free.
