Fantastic experience: The learning experience is very straightforward and easy. Mrs. Khan is also very kind and willing to help while also being friendly and easy going. Definitely recommend if you are needing to take a license test or to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Texas Driving Academy and my incredible driving instructor, Ms. Sumera, enough! From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of amazing. The academy's structured approach and Ms. Sumera's exceptional teaching skills made learning to drive a smooth and enjoyable journey. Ms. Sumera is an outstanding instructor with unmatched patience and professionalism. She has a remarkable ability to explain even the most challenging concepts in a way that is easy to understand. Her calm demeanor and encouraging attitude helped me build confidence behind the wheel, even when I felt nervous.

Negative experience: SCAM!!!! I REPEAT SCAM!! Don’t waste your money here. Much better driving school then this dirty scam place. 0 out of 10.

Fantastic experience: Best driving’s academy in Houston. The owner sumera khan is an amazing lady . She guided me so well , I just came from abroad and she helped me like a daughter with permit and scheduling dps appointment, as I was new here i didn’t know how the system works but thanks to her that I got this burden over . I was guided wrongly by other driving schools . I recommend her 100 percent . Great attitude and great service.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just successfully completed her driving course and passed her driving test yesterday. Ms Khan is really a good teacher and has lot of patience while teaching her students. We recommend this place to all future drivers.

Negative experience: She is a scam, extremely obnoxious and we had a very disappointing experience when my 16 year old son did a test with her. She failed my son and when we tried at another place my son passed the test. Avoid her and please go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Definitely not recommended. Trust me take your business some where else. I can not write enough negative about this place or the lady (Ms Khan) who runs this place. It’s so bad that I am In process of writing and complaining to TDLR in Austin Texas.

Negative experience: Totally recommend her! She made the process easy. We’ll be back next year when it’s time for my daughter’s drivers license too. Editing review as we’ve used her services again for my daughter. I would totally NOT RECOMMEND MRS KHAN. After you pay for lessons, she doesn’t respond to texts or calls. She gives lame excuses about the school having so and so policy- the school is HER. During the lessons, she makes racist comments and tries to talk about being Muslim and how great her religion is and how other religions are sub par to hers.Then she talks about other students and makes stupid comments. So I bought my daughter a Mercedes, it was my money- why is she so bothered and why discuss it with other students?!! Just no! Don’t waste your time, and your money on her.

Fantastic experience: i finished my course within 16 days over winter break then i did 7 lessons within 6 months. the instructor is very understanding and welcoming. you learn road rules, how to drive, how to use the car, what to look out for and even teaches you what to do during an emergency. a car is provided and there is a very flexible schedule

Negative experience: I am sorry to say that our experience with Texas Driving Academy was very negative. The theory classes were nothing too great however the main reason I had my daughter join was for the behind the wheel training. I had paid the entire fees upfront which was quite a sum and in return the training was far below expectation. For one it is almost impossible to get a driving slot, we would go on site several times a day and could not find available slots, Ms Khan said that we would have to wake up on sundays perhaps early hours like 5 am or so to find a slot, we tried that and that too failed. Ms Khan was one of the rudest teachers we have experienced, being frank and very opinionated is one thing but being disrespectful is another. She had very strong opinions and preconceived ideas of certain people and their way of life which was very disrespectful. I would never recommend this school to anyone. My daughter is a very capable and a quick learner, I ended up teaching her behind the wheel myself and she passed with flying colors. I hope Texas Driving Academy improves their performance and gives justice to the tuition they charge students.

Fantastic experience: My experience with this school during my time there was an overall very good experience. The in-person classes were engaging and easy to follow along with and kept me focused the entire time. The behind the wheel classes were also a good experience, I learned lots of things while doing them and grew as a driver. Ms Khan gives very good feedback and advice on how to make my driving better overall. The extra lessons really helped me become more and more comfortable behind the wheel and allowed me to ask questions to prevent making a mistake on the road. I would highly recommend this school if you’re considering getting your license. They whole proceeds was very easy and definitely worth the time put into it.

Negative experience: This place is an absolute scam, going in there and paying for a few minutes of drive time was just a waste. When the person at the front asked if we were going to pay the $75 or $150, as we chose to pay the 75, the instructor's attitude completely changed. During the test, the instructor said to me that if I paid that $150, it would have been a guaranteed pass. Which seems to me that they want you to pay that price for an instant pass. As I entered the car, the instructor asked what my dash cam was and proceeded to later on during the test to unplug it. After I left the place, I decided to check the dash cam footage to see what I missed and notice that a chunk of my footage was not present as it did capture me arriving and leaving but not me driving during the test. Don't be fooled, go to another place not this one. (Update I didn’t receive any refund)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving academy. I had Mrs. Khan as my driving instructor and she was very thorough with her feedback and also very encouraging to help build my confidence on the road. I initially signed up for 10 hours when I was a student at UT Austin but had to take a break from driving lessons when I went back to school. After I was done with school, Mrs. Khan took the time out of her day to teach me again at the same rate even after I stopped driving for a few months. I was able to pass my driving test easily because Mrs. Khan taught me the entire route and encouraged me that I would do well. If you want to practice driving with a friendly instructor and clear and concise instructions, please consider this academy and Mrs. Khan as your driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Texas driving academy is the best. My older brother used to drive with them a few months ago and he got his license. After a long time of my brother not being with them anymore they were generous enough to give me the hours he had remaining. The teaching is really good too. I recommend them to anyone that wants to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: Helped me out. The school came in early just to administer a road test. Gave me instructions to guide me throughout my process in the Dps and was helpful when I was behind the wheel. Clear and direct!

Fantastic experience: Our family found Texas Driving Academy to be both professional and honest. Both my children struggle with anxiety. After attempting the parent education course, we used TDA to help them gain confidence with their driving. Ms. Khan was an honest and gifted teacher. I went for a ride-along and watched as she instructed my daughter. She has immense patience and genuinely seems to enjoy the students. After a few lessons, my girls were more confident drivers. Taking their driving test with Ms. Khan also alleviated the anxiety of being assigned a random driving test supervisor at the Texas Department of Public Service. It was a much better experience to go through Texas Driving Academy where their staff guided us through the paperwork process. I would absolutely recommend this driving school to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My son came here to do his driving test instead of waiting for a long appointment date with DPS. It is very convenient to make an appointment here and they even welcome walk-ins. He called and made an appointment 1 hr ahead of time for a Saturday noon test. He was then told that he needed to complete the IMPACT video, but because of some internet problem,  my son couldn't complete before his appointment. He called Mrs Khan and she offered to do the test early the next day. When we get to the test center, we found out that they are usually closed on  Sundays and she had come to work specially for us. Before the test, Mrs Khan explained very clearly DPS' requirements for passing and immediate failures if my son were to run the yellow, red light, rolling stop and etc... Mrs Khan is very kind and professional. Through our conversations, I've also observed that she has good values and integrity. She seems quite strict like my Asain teachers when I was growing up. We need more people like her in our society to teach the younger generation, and I'd highly recommend this business for learning and taking the drivers test.

Positive experience: Readers might notice that Texas Driving Academy has mixed reviews. That's because of Ms. Khan, who seems to be both the CEO and main driving teacher of Texas Driving Academy. Ms. Khan is blunt and has the frankness of an "old asian auntie". It's clear she cares about her students, but others may be put off by her racial remarks or non-driving related comments . For example, while I was cruising during a driving lesson she asked me what my parents did and why my arms were so big. She also yelled racial slurs at drivers who were taking pictures and honking at us. Her advice is straightforward and when students need help, she is quick to shift back from her "friendly" conversation to a professional demeanor. I was a poor driver and Ms. Khan was very thorough in her advice. The best thing you can do is give Texas Driving Academy a call or meet up with Ms. Khan in person at the academy to see her "style" of teaching. At best, she can be a caring and honest teacher who has high but reachable standards. At worst she can create a distracting or hostile environment. Really depends on how your student feels. Apart from that, the classroom portion of the class is thorough, up to Texas law standards and not taught by Ms. Khan. She also has a referral discount (I can't remember the amount, but it was a good deal.) One other note: This review was written on my burner account. I graduated from Texas Driving Academy a year ago, but recently one of my friends was considering and I didn't want to have my name on this.

Fantastic experience: Definitely recommend! After only 3 days of driving I was able to build my confidence on the road. The instructor is very kind and teaches the ways of the road very effectively. I am very satisfied where I am at now in terms of driving and will definitely be coming back to do my road test.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this academy and Ma'm Sumaira.First of all the scheduling was hassle free and she took her time to explain what the test entails even though I called outside office timings.I took my test here and she was so polite and made the whole experience so delightful.I was so nervous but she kept on encouraging me.She gave me some good pointers for safe driving.If you are looking to take your test and are a nervous wreck like me then look no further.I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for driving classes or test.

Negative experience: Ms. Khan is exactly that....a con. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. If I could give this "academy" 0 stars I would. I asked for the owners information and she refused to give it to me. I'll be filing with the Better Business Bureau and with my bank. Please take your child else where. They DO NOT value you as a customer.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school for new beginner teen drivers. I am one of them. I started going to this school not knowing how to even back up a car properly. Now I am driving on freeways and my mom is comfortable with me driving her places. All in all 10/10.

Fantastic experience: Its a great driving school that teaches you how to drive properly and well. I went here for my required observation hours and driving hours. The instructor Mrs.Khan was very thoughtful and made sure I was learning properly and doing all the right things while driving. I was very pleased with my experience and recommend it to whoever has second thoughts about this school!

Negative experience: Do not recommend at all. The only good thing about this academy are the in person classes. Ms. Marine is very good teacher and she knows how to deliver the content well while keeping the class engaged. The behind the wheel classes are split over a couple of weeks and the information delivered is easily comprehendible and useful;however, the problem lies in the driving classes itself. The instructor for that is blatantly rude and has a habit of making racial remarks which are deemed derogatory. Not only that but during the lesson, there is so much build up of anxiety and tensions due to her being condescending . It creates an ambiance of fear rather than one of comfort. Instead of motivating you, she belittles you which prevents you from reaching your full potential.

Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school. They are very attentive to the students and professional. They answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I have had two kids get their drivers license with Texas Driving Academy.

Positive experience: I don’t know to be honest. I LOVED the driving instructor taught course with mrs. Marie (I think that’s how you spell her name) it was very helpful and super fun. However, when I went for my first behind the wheel lesson, I was just yelled at throughout the entire lesson. It really scared me emotionally because driving enough is a dangerous and scary task. My parents wanted someone who could teach me from the basics, like from just starting your car and steering the wheel. However, I was never informed that I had to learn this prior to my first lesson and I will admit, this was my fault. Had I known I would maybe give this a four, only because I believe that by screaming at inexperienced teens isn’t going to help them become better drivers, it’s just going to create anxiety and unawareness. I was shaking throughout my first lesson and I believed the instructor could have been a little bit more nicer.

Fantastic experience: Texas Driving Academy is an outstanding school, Ive come from dubai and as a foreigner they brought me up to speed on how driving works here and taught me driving quite well, Ms samira khan was my driving instructor she has a very understandable method of teaching, enjoyed my time. The school is also quite affordable and compared to others in the area it is the cheapest.

Positive experience: The classes were great and the driving lessons were great. One teacher is kinda too strict but you just gotta be on your toes.

Fantastic experience: My entire family came here and we were all very pleased. We received group discounts for all my cousins and brothers and received our licenses rather quickly without any problems. I have problems with diabetes and dyslexia, plus I have severe ADHD. The instructors were very patient and understanding when it came to my lessons. They were all also very flexible when I had to cancel due to my medical conditions.

Fantastic experience: NOTE: I only completed the ADULT course here: classroom theory, behind-the-wheel lessons, and my road test. I was super happy with this place. I registered for my entire program here from start to finish. Their instructors helped me with obtaining my permit, to completing my road test, to finally getting my license all in a timely manner. Their school is organized and professional. They gave me a list of EVERY document I needed to save time and avoid any hassles at the DPS office. I didn't have conflict with scheduling and their prices were extremely reasonable compared to when I called around to get quotes. I'm most likely bringing my son and his brother here for the teenager course.

Fantastic experience: My sister had a great in-class and drive-time experience here. On top of that, they stood by my sister to the very end even after an accident that happened during a drive time. I can't thank them enough for sticking up for their students.

Fantastic experience: The Texas Driving Academy has very experienced instructors who are very efficient and clear in teaching. I learned parallel parking very quickly even though I expected it to be a challenge. The instructors always converse with students to keep them interested while correcting any mistakes made. Additionally, the school allows students to take classes according to ability as opposed to arbitrary time requirements. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just recently completed her teen driving class in preparation for receiving her learner's permit. She enjoyed the class and learned a lot. As a parent, I'm pleased with their organization. And I appreciate how they prepared us for what we needed to have for the DPS. I would recommend them. We didn't do behind the wheel.... classroom only.

Negative experience: If the staff was friendlier and didn't scream for the first three lessons I might rate the place as decent. They literally insult your driving and then tell you that you need private lessons (which cost additional money) and after those private lessons they're super nice and friendly. Doesn't work well with customers and don't recommend. Better off with parent taught.
