Matt was my instructor at the range. May look difficult at first, just pay attention and want it and Matt and every other instructor will give you the tools to succeed.

Fantastic experience: Best CDL school in LAS VEGAS! Jerry is an excellent instructor, when he’s serious he’s not serious! Him and Cliff made class so fun and funny. He made the course very simple! Our whole class passed with NO PROBLEM. Great financing options, snd hands on work. We even had a classmate bring his game in so we could practice on Backing, loading and unloading before we went to the yard. No school is better than OTR.

My classroom trainer, Jerry, was excellent. He was patient and funny and has a ton of knowledge about the business of trucking from his years of experience. Cliff and Christina, from the office, are so oo kind and helpful. They definitely made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process! My behind the wheel trainer was Dwayne. He was extremely patient and always taught me how to fix the various mistakes and tough situations that arose while performing maneuvers. I cannot give a bigger endorsement about this place. They are professional, kind, supportive, and ALL want to see you successful. If you decide to enroll at OTR Drive School, you will NOT regret it. The biggest thank you to all of the instructors and staff who helped me succeed. Matt is an excellent teacher and thoroughly explains everything to you while being hands on showing you how to drive a manual truck.

I have been to multiple trade schools for different things and this school stands a grade above the rest. All of the instructors were friendly and knowledgeable and gave me and all of the others in my class the materials, the direction and the training we needed, especially when some of us needed more than others. Their goal is to get us what we came here for. Fantastic experience: I am emotional today as Ive just passed my test, Manual Double Clutch. Matt as my main teacher/instructor was genuinely the best I could have ever asked for. Literally the most patient and kind person, very aware of what you need to relax and remember what you know. Kyle was very stern and effective with reminding you on your drive to keep track of your surroundings and Russ couldn't have been better with the Pre-Trip and AirBrake practice. I had that down in one day after he went over it. This trio of men have been incredible and most importantly they care about your success and I couldnt be more grateful for them and for this school. Class time with Jerry couldn't have been more fun and he gets everyone ready to pass their permit test in just a week. I've come very far and worked very hard and today has been a great day. Jerry was a great classroom instructor that will answer all of your questions about the industry and simultaneously give you a hard time. He means well, so don't take it personal. Matt was the best skills instructor ever! He helps you not only build the skills for proper driving but he helps you work through the proper troubleshooting needed for when you get into a difficult situation. The owner Christina is amazing and I love her mission and the story behind her starting the school in the first place. Cliff was very informative and a great teacher, and Jerry is a character but you will definitely have a great day. Matt was my instructor, and is very supportive and informational, no question is a dumb question Matt will make sure you leave everyday with confidence, and information you need to succeed. Kyle is another instructor and was my examiner, he is patient and is also informational and supportive. All in all, I learned more then I ever could have imagined. Everyone is friendly and great people to learn from. These are truck drivers themselves, and they love what they do.

Here you aren’t given a CDL, its earned. It really feels like a family here and they treat you like one. I had a lot of fun and learned alot. Fantastic experience: My husband recently earned his CDL from a nearby competitor, but I wasn’t thrilled about starting my training there. So, I began my own search. After creating a spreadsheet and calling every school in the Vegas area, I ended an exhausting day with one last call to Cliff. Within less than a minute, I knew this was the place I wanted to spend the next three weeks. Meeting in person only confirmed this feeling, especially after speaking with the owner, Christina. She shared her mission, vision, and the story behind creating the school. I was impressed by her confident yet humble approach in a male-dominated industry, and we bonded over some shared struggles I had been concerned about. The price was significantly lower than other schools since I had already obtained my permit through independent study. Jerry, our class instructor, delivered on Cliff and Christina’s promise, making the class fun while providing top-notch instruction backed by extensive experience. In the yard, I was assigned to Matt, along with two other students. Matt exemplified empathy, knowledge, kindness, and patience. He was dedicated to ensuring we not only passed the test but felt fully confident in what we learned, no matter how long it took. Matt, Kyle, and “BearClaw” were actively involved in every aspect of our yard experience, regardless of whose class we were in. All the instructors took time—multiple times—to talk to us individually or as a group, offering valuable advice and wisdom whenever they could. I wholeheartedly recommend OTR if you want quality training in a supportive environment. Did I mention that I had offer letters from 3 companies before I even graduated!

Fantastic experience: Jerry is a really good teacher, and all of the staff will be good to you. They go above and beyond to make sure you pass and get a job. Jerry did a good job making the experience enjoyable when the classroom could have boring. Matt was my driving instructor: this guy really knows how to teach skills. He was patient and understanding during the entire learning process. Not only did he teach us the right way to drive and do the skills test, he also taught us how to handle/fix all the situations that could happen when things aren't going perfectly. He's the kind of person who teaches you again if you forget something without making you feel dumb, and calms you down with his chill attitude when you're worried about something or getting anxiety about the test. And he was humble about being such a good teacher as well. Such a good guy. Otr is lucky to have him, and I don't have any complaints about the rest of the staff either. Negative experience: No doubt one of the worst companies I have ever seen. This is nothing more than a rag tag trucking company that decided to try to make some extra money and get some drivers themselves by throwing together a school. The LBGT Community refuses to endorse the school because of their homophobic attitude. I am a transgender person with 42 years of driving experience with no accidents no tickets and was hired to be an instructor until they decided it would be bad for business and broke off any further contact with me causing me to lose other jobs while believing that their job offer was legitimate. (Shame on you guys) Go with the reputable school and there are many in Las Vegas that will do a much much better job at a more affordable price and teach you properly how to handle a tractor trailer with confidence. Remember, ...... this is your future....train smart and train properly. Don't waste your money here.

Fantastic experience: Update: 7.30.24 I wanted to come back after finishing and graduating to express my heartfelt thanks to a great instructor. While all the instructors were wonderful, I especially want to thank Russ. From the moment I saw his teaching techniques, I knew he was passionate about what he does. He went above and beyond to ensure that I and the other students understood everything thoroughly. Russ is a great asset and leader for OTR Drive School, and I hope to one day have the same passion for this profession that he does. Original post: was looking to get back into trucking after taking over a decade off and doing Software Engineering. After speaking to a few schools in Las Vegas and Henderson area I walked in to OTR Driving school. Quickly seen how friendly everyone was and helpful. The same day I was able to talk to the owner and also the instructor Jerry which is a pretty cool guy and very knowledgeable. I recommend this school to anyone trying to get into trucking. Jerry guides you and helps you out quite a bit to make sure you understand everything you need to know. Within the first week they have helped me look into a few companies to get back in the swing of things. They have answered all my questions and concerns. I had to come back after finishing and graduation to give a big thanks to a great instructor. Although all instructors were great I especially want to thank Russ. As soon as I saw him and his teaching techniques I knew he was passionate about what he does. Fantastic experience: Faircloth was a great instructor during my time at the night school really taking time with me to understand parts of the truck and how they worked I was alone in my class and he managed to make sure he gave it his all that I understood whatever question I had it and I’m very greatful. Terry was my instructor on the range and I can’t say enough good things about him. He was a true professional and gave me great advice and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.
