Certified Driving School, a Christian family owned business, readies Enid's youth to safely navigate local streets and highways and secure both a learner's permit and driving license. The owner is "certified" with both the Oklahoma Department of Education and the state Department of Public Safety which is highly unusual. Larry's experience in the conventional classroom setting and at Guthrie's Job Corp Center has prepared him well for students of all ages, ethnic/language groups and learning styles. He and wife Debbie Lack-Swindell also provide opportunities for those seeking Defensive Driving Skills, Adult Learner Lessons, Senior Driver Evaluations and those wanting to learn to drive "stick shift" transmission and clutched vehicles.

Fantastic experience: We had such a wonderful experience! Larry is an amazing teacher, very knowledgeable and supportive. They walked us through the whole process, from getting a permit to getting a license for our teenager. A big thank you to Larry and the staff at Certified Driving School! We highly recommend their service!

Negative experience: My son did drivers ed through them. All went well with that. We did the driving test through them as well and opted out of the extra pre trip 45 min refresher that cost another 60 on top of the 60 for the driving test itself. Because we didn’t want to do the extra, Larry failed my son. He was rude and condescending when talking to him. Even said he was an “unsafe driver”. My son drove us all over the the USA when he had his permit….thousands of miles. He knows what he’s doing. Literally went to OHP right away after he failed my son and did another drivers test…..he passed with flying colors and the guy at OHP even said there’s nothing unsafe about the way my son drives and said he drives better than 90% of people in Enid. So if you don’t spend the extra money on the 45 min refresher before the drivers test through the driving school, they lose out on money and will fail you. I have talked to several people since then that said they had the same issue. Just want others to be cautious when deciding where to take their drivers test.

Fantastic experience: Larry was amazing. Patient and informative to my teen driver. He was so great at putting her at ease before her test as well. Highly recommend.
