Apple Driving School of NY

Negative experience: I had initially planned to leave a glowing five-star review for Apple Driving School, but unfortunately, my recent experience has led me to reconsider. I purchased a driving package in August 2023, which included 10 lessons, a 5-hour class, and access to a car for the driving test. My initial experience was positive, as I had an excellent instructor. However, in November 2023, I was involved in a car accident that left me feeling anxious and experiencing panic attacks whenever I got behind the wheel. After discussing this with my instructor, I decided to take a break from driving for several months. In July 2024, I contacted Apple Driving School to resume my lessons and was informed that my preferred instructor was fully booked. I didn’t mind waiting and agreed to check back the following month. In August, I informed the school that I would be away for school and planned to resume my lessons in December. However, when I called at the end of November to schedule my remaining three lessons, I was told that my package had expired in August, and they could not accommodate me. I visited the office in person a week ago to discuss my situation. I was told that, according to company policy, all packages expire one year after purchase, which I was unaware of. I requested to speak with a manager or someone in charge, but I was told I would receive a callback. Unfortunately, no one has reached out to me. While I understand that this is a busy time of year, the lack of communication and follow-through has been disappointing and unprofessional. I purchased a $640 package, which included 10 lessons, a 5-hour class, and access to a car for the driving test. I completed only 7 lessons, did not take the 5-hour class, and never used the car for the driving test, as I was unable to reach that stage. It is concerning that the expiration policy was never clearly communicated to me at the time of purchase. This should have been clearly stated on my receipt and verbally discussed at the outset, particularly given that I took a break due to extenuating circumstances. Additionally, I was not informed that my instructor had retired, despite having contacted the school in August to schedule my remaining lessons. I had a positive impression of Apple Driving School until this experience. The lack of clear communication and the failure to resolve this issue professionally has left me disappointed. Regrettably, based on this experience, I will not be continuing business with the school and cannot recommend it to others.

My confidence in driving boosted a lot and I passed my driving test first try. Amazing driving school.

Fantastic experience: This is a very great driving school and everyone there made the process of getting my license as easy as possible with the package deals they offer. I’ve had lessons with both Joe and Farhad and both were excellent instructors. They helped me feel prepared in any case scenario that may come up on the road test or just when driving in general. They were both very sweet which made it easy to stay calm behind the wheel. Couldn’t have passed my road test without them ! Very grateful !

Fantastic experience: I have taken the 10 lessons package offered by Apple Driving school between March and April. The receptionist will work with you to schedule these lessons and road test appointment just make sure you read the fine print like other schools were they state the policy for canceling a lesson may not be refunded if not done in a timely matter. The instructor I was assigned with Joe was amazing. He knew right away I had taken lessons from somewhere else and he helped me improve my skills. He knew right away what his student problems were, mine was hand coordination, foot positioning, and turning which still need improvement but enough improvement were made to pass my road test. I will be straight forward I failed my first road test because I was super nervous and it had affected my driving ability’s it’s okay to be nervous as everyone should be nervous during a test.Also it depends on what examiner you get for the road test you don’t get to choose. I had a feeling my first one was just out to get me like he pretty much check one or two box’s in almost every single category the examiner are not your friends. I took the road test a second time and I didn’t let my nerves affect me. I passed with barely any mistake maybe 3 minor mistakes. Both of my road test was at Cunningham Park. If I had to recommend a driving school I would recommend going to Apple Driving school. Just remember these tips which I hope can help you. 1. Don’t be nervous.2. Ask questions that the only way to improve.3. I hate promoting but Do research on the score sheet there a website by Josh America that goes in till very depth analysis of the NYC score sheet. 4. If you still have difficulty learning try watching videos of driving techniques but remember to always follow your instructor advice. 5.Last don’t give up remember this if you failed try again learn from your mistake and fix them it the only way to learn and develop your skill.

Fantastic experience: Very good driving school. Office staff, Anita, is very friendly and efficient in scheduling driving appointments according to your schedule. My driving instructor, Veronica teaches so well and helps you with every step along the way. She tries her best to help you understand everything and has a very good teaching curriculum. This school really cares and helps you to their best in order for you to get your driver’s license. Would highly recommend going here.

Fantastic experience: I failed twice with my driving road test and then I scheduled another test in Queens pretty last minute. I was desperate to find a driving school that would match my schedule and road test date. I came across Apple Driving School and they helped me immensely with accommodating my schedule, giving me lessons and fulfilling all my conditions. Farhad was my instructor for my lessons and he taught me how to be a practical, safe driver, and how to pass the test. He is calm, cool minded, and easy going, which are great qualities for a nervous, beginner driver behind the wheel. I'd recommend anyone to come here if they're struggling and want positive results.

Farhad is a great instructor and gives you plug-and-play advice on how to drive well, prepares you for the road test, and teaches you how to deal with different scenarios you might encounter on the road. The instructors teach well and this office specifically is diligent with how they conduct business. Both me and my sister took lessons at this driving school and passed out road tests. I recommend starting with their Package #2 if you’re new to driving.

Negative experience: How does the website and paper on there door say they are open from 9 - 5 but they are closed every Wednesday? terrible business.

He even asked what I didn’t feel comfortable with and guided me through it on the way to the road test. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My instructor (Farhad) was very helpful in helping me pass the road test. Although I never took courses he still allowed me to drive the car to the test to get if feel for it. He also let me practice parking before and that gave me the confidence I needed to get it done. Also they were very flexible as I called 2 days before for a 8:45am test. 5 stars!

Negative experience: Do not take lessons there! Totally unprofessional! The driving instructor took my daughter to the road test and arrived 10 minutes late. This is not an one off. He was habitually late to her lessons. He also speaks with an accent that my daughter had trouble understanding him at times.

He told me everything and all the things that I needed to do for the road test. He covered everything for the road test every lesson that I took with him. I passed my road test on the first try! Hassan is the goat. The front desk lady is friendly and the whole entire driving school staff are the nicest people you would ever meet.

Positive experience: I signed up with Apple Driving leaving after driving school and I wish I came here first. They have a good system and are very organized. They work around your schedule too. Hassan was a great instructor and I passed on my first time taking the road test. He helped me fix all the things I needed to fix to pass my road test. Great school.

Fantastic experience: a friend recommended apple driving school to me, and thats how i found out about this business. walking in, I had a warm welcome and great customer service. the 5 hour class was also very educational, made it simple and easy to understand. Joe was my driving instructor on the road and I highly recommend him! He said I learned quick, but I think I picked up quickly because he made me comfortable as soon as I got my hands behind the wheel. He guided me step by step. When I made a mistake, he was patient with me and answered all my questions. There is a lot to driving but his teaching skills were very repetitive in a good way, it drilled into my head how to pass the road test. and I passed on the first try! There was mutual respect between us and he was very encouraging. Great place to learn.

Negative experience: The driving instructor, Joe, was very rude and would unnecessarily hit your leg and tap you on the head. This isnt 50 years ago where u can just put your hands on people. You can get your point across with words and without having to hit my leg. He was not very helpful in helping me understand certain aspects of driving and seemed impatient when I asked about certain things. You are a driving instructor for new drivers and should expect students to make mistakes and ask questions.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Farzad, my instructor, was extremely patient and knowledgable. His tips on parallel parking parking, 3 point turns, and overall driving behavior allowed me to pass my road test on the first attempt. The receptionist, Bebi, was very pleasant and encouraging as well. She made an effort to inform me periodically that my test date was approaching and made sure I was ready. Overall, I am happy I went with Apple for my driving school.

PROS: Great Location 5 Hour Class included in package Road Test Booking included in package Great Teachers who do their best to accommodate the students Relatively cheap for five lessons. CONS: The receptionist has prematurely hung up the phone in the past. If you decide to go with Apple, I suggest you ask for Joe to be your instructor at some point. He can spot your weaknesses in your driving. With his help, you'll definitely be able to overcome them. Thanks you, guys!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, ask for Hassan or Hassan's son because I feel that they're the best. I only took 3 lessons with them and passed the road test on my first try. They are excellent. Also the secretary is so nice as well, she is easy to talk to and answers all questions I had for her. :)

Negative experience: Their motorcycle driving course is a jock , it's for automatic bikes small bikes only, and they don't tell you that upfront ,you get the surprise when you go for you first lesson , and when you ask for refund they will charge you $10 off the money you paid . Stay away from them.

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test today ! Apple Driving School has encouraged me to be determined to become an excellent driver . The instructors ways of instructing a student ensures the student is aware , uses observation skills , and most important to be relaxed so that there is no tension at the same moment . At this school you will find professionalism and the keys you need as mentioned before to be a excellent driver . Driving isn't an easy task , it requires patience, relaxed state of mind for both instructor and student. As a former student at Apple Driving School I gained that self-confidence , patience, and the knowledge to be a great driver . Thanks Apple Driving School
