Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Old Town Driving School. Their communication was timely and helpful. Our son learned a lot from his instructor Sonia. She was a very knowledgeable and respectful teacher.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is a Bishop Ireton student and just completed her behind the wheel instruction. Andy Shattuck, her instructor, was absolutely fantastic. She learned a great deal and has improved her technique on the road and has become a much more confident driver. I highly recommend Old Town Driving School! My daughter met the instructor and another BI student driver at the school shortly after dismissal. As part of the driving lesson both girls were dropped off at their homes, which made it very convenient. We had a couple of lessons on the weekend which were also convenient. Thanks to everyone at Old Town Driving School for such a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter had such a positive experience working with Andy Shattuck that I'm inspired to write a review to show our appreciation. Alexandria City is a pretty stressful pocket to drive around in as an experienced driver. Imagine being a brand new driver and feeling confident enough to hop on the beltway during rush hour! Andy is incredibly calm with super power levels of patience due to his years of coaching and having his own daughter close in age to his driving students. From the first lesson, she was MUCH more capable and comfortable than an entire summer working with her nervous parents. She was excited for each lesson and undaunted about tackling tricky things like parallel parking. Also impressive was the scheduling and communication provided by Sheri. We'd hoped to coordinate lessons with a friend however it ended up working out through the magic of Sheri that our daughter knew the other student drivers who were all supportive of each other. A wonderful experience from a parent perspective and to our newly (as of yesterday!) licensed daughter's own experience!

Fantastic experience: The scheduling process was easy and efficient. Instructor Tia Moore was awesome! She was obviously a seasoned instructor and made my daughter feel very comfortable. For that alone, I would give Old Town Driving School five stars. I was glad they picked up at home, and the costs were comparable to other schools I looked into. I definitely recommend them.

He's become a good driver and really learned a lot from his teacher's varied driving scenarios. Scheduling with OTDS was simple and my son appreciated the text reminders from Ms. Moore before his lessons.

Fantastic experience: Our son just finished up his class at the Old Town Driving School and had an excellent experience with instructor Tia Moore! He found her patient, firm, and above all knowledgeable. We met her on the final day and agreed completely with our son’s assessment. She made sure we understood the parameters for his driving immediately after receiving his license and gave us some insights on how we can help him improve his driving. I would highly recommend Old Town Driving School as well as instructor Tia Moore.

Fantastic experience: Our 16 year old just finished his session with Old Town Driving School and we could not be more pleased. Good communication before and very reliable picking our son up from school or home. Sonia was his instructor and she really helped him polish his driving and make him more confident. Fantastic experience: My experience with Old Town Driving was great! My instructor Tia Moore taught us important tips and lessons of the roadway, while also making the lesson entertaining with our daily conversations :) I would recommend Ms. Tia Moore and Old Town Driving School to anyone from a brand new driver to a person who’s been driving for months. The testing process was great as well because before taking the test you get to take a mock test which made me more calm and relaxed before the test day.

Fantastic experience: Reassuring communication from Kevin and his small team. They did a great job of keeping us updated on getting our daughter scheduled. Can’t say enough about how patient and calm (things I struggle with during driving sessions) Tia Moore was with our daughter. She reduced anxiety and increased confidence to a very high degree and we are grateful. Will use Old Town Driving School when our next child is ready for driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: Trusting your newly driving teen to someone else's care is a bit heart stopping but Kevin was fantastic and instilled a sense of confidence in me as a parent, immediately. My son reported that Sonia was helpful and friendly and he felt very comfortable with her as a driving instructor. I can see his increased confidence behind the wheel in the few weeks since he completed the course. Thank you Old Town Driving School for a terrific experience. We will definitely be back in a few months for round two with my younger son.

Fantastic experience: Kevin was incredibly patient with our daughter. She was comfortable having him teach her, and she was thrilled to pass the driving test. It was very convenient for us that he could pick her and her friend up at her high school. The communication with him was great. He kept us and our daughter well informed of any changes in lessons. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Kevin Gahart as instructor for Behind the Wheel! He patiently delivered a stress-free behind the wheel class for my daughter. He has such a positive and friendly approach while delivering the technical nuances that set students on a great path for safe responsible driving. He takes the time to learn each student's strengths and weaknesses and individualizes their lessons helping them focus and succeed all round. We will definitely work with him with our next two drivers.

Fantastic experience: Right before the pandemic my son made an appointment with DMV to obtain his driver's license. When the state of VA shut down so did his appointment when things slowly started to reopen after much persistence he finally was able to make an appointment. Unfortunately, the earliest appointment was Aug. 2022. I remembered a conversation I had with one of my colleagues whose daughter was taking the behind the wheel training from Old Town Driving School and how convenient and professional the schedule and staff were. Shortly after we decided to do the same, we are so glad we decided to contact Old Town Driving School. My son's instructor Tia Moore, is excellent! Ms. Moore communicated to both of us the things that he needed to work on but also gave my son the confidence he needed that as a mom I wasn't able to. Fantastic experience: Participating in the "behind the wheel" sessions with Old Town Driving School was a great experience for our daughter. Mr. Gahart provided comprehensive instruction. He taught the students the required curriculum but also included practical driving tips. He was extremely flexible with the schedule when we needed to change times. Fantastic experience: We are so happy with our decision to use Mr Gahart as our oldest daughter's driving instructor. It was very easy to schedule driving times and he came to the house to pick her up and drop off! HUGE!! He gave great feedback on her driving abilities and made sure to cover all the basics. Fantastic experience: My daughter recently and successfully completed Old Town Driving School with Kevin Gerhardt. She really enjoyed working with him and he did a great job explaining how the process would go and took care of the DMV paperwork for us. She is 17 and got delayed due to the last year of COVID craziness. Kevin communicated directly with her on driving days so she was held accountable, which is what you want when your child is operating a vehicle. I appreciated I was not in the middle. I met with him on the first and last days, and I personally enjoyed working with Kevin because he was very experienced and was extremely helpful working with our family around some tricky unexpected schedule changes. He is very polite and nice, and we highly recommend him and OTDS. I feel the price was very reasonable as well. Again, you can't discount the price for having your child learn to properly operate a vehicle. Contact OTDS today! You will not be disappointed.

Negative experience: They don't deserve any stars, but I had to give 1 to post.I will not be recommending them and will be notifying all Hayfield Parents and the school to get them off the website. I know not to use them. We have been trying for months to schedule our 2 kids and the communication from them was less than awful. KEY Driving school is fantastic and VERY punctual in returning calls, emails, texts and arriving for lessons. Both my kids will have their licenses in 7 days.
