Positive experience: I want to thank mr. Parker for helping my son Harley with driving he was the only one that my son could drive with having special needs. I also want to thank Michael at the Oswego office for helping him pass his last lesson after Harley was so nervous that he had he thought he was going to fail that he helped him passed. Negative experience: Do not take your child to this location for there scheduled driving lessons.Specifically from Mark Mailnowski. He is the most disrespectful, rude, degrading driving instructor. This company needs to start putting cameras in the cars to know this awful behavior. To be a driving instructor #1 is to be patient with the students. Not degrade them say negative things roll your eyes, huff and puff , say they’re going to fail saying they’re off to a bad start and they’re not going to pass at the dmw test. It’s truly disgusting. The only person I recommend from this location. is John Gauss he is very respectful, teaches well , & he gives great feedback and pointers to you & your child.

Negative experience: If you paid online and then they deny you registering for behind the wheel classes (they don’t have any available). please contact the Attorney General’s office and file a complaint. This is happening way too often. My husband was an assistant AG years ago and they are amazing at stopping these types of practices. Thanks!
Jennifer, as we have noted previously we do indeed have driving lessons available that are released on a monthly basis. This has been communicated to our families in many emails as well as on the student portal. Negative experience: ***UPDATE--no one from Top Driver has contacted me, so clearly they do not care about customer service, I called Excel driving School and they are GREAT!!!! Registered my child there for her in person lessons If I could give zero stars I would. How on earth can they charge me an extra $150.00 on top of the $450.00 I already paid because she missed the deadline, but it was due to COVID and the pandemic--they sent zero emails or alerts, just expect me to pay $150.00 so she can get her in person lessons, I will be doing a chargeback and will tell everyone I know with a teen to not use them

He took great care in ensuring that I became road-ready by the time I finished my course, while also managing to help me calm my nerves when I first began behind the wheel classes. Negative experience: Worst customer service and communication of any service I have ever used. Any information that was sent, was sent to my child…. A 15yr old. Unfortunately, I only found this out when he was unable to schedule driving time. I called and was told we were outside the time limit listed in the “terms and conditions” I “signed” when we registered him…. Over the phone btw so how I signed or agreed is beyond me. Since he took longer than the allotted time we would need to reinstate him for an additional $150 and then wait another 3 months to get drive time! Mind you we already paid $450 for nothing other than the link he used to complete the online classes. We were given no Guidelines, timelines or deadlines. It wasn’t until after we had reached out for more info that we were told it was to late and now we have to pay them more money. Thieves. They set you up to fail so they can try and get more of your hard earned money.
Thank you for your comments and I am sorry that you feel you did not receive the service that we expect for all of our families. I researched your son's account and determined that he enrolled over a year ago and while he has had his permit for over ten months he did not attempt to schedule any drives until this week. Upon enrollment the parent would have received a Welcome packet with detailed information regarding our entire program including the Secretary of State deadlines (one of which is the full program must be completed within 9 months). I do apologize if you did not receive this information - our Regional Manager will be reaching out to you in the next day or two to discuss your situation.

Also my daughter just completed Top Driver 3 years after my son specificity with Bill McFarlane who is an excellent instructor!! He really cares and goes over with the parents after every driving lesson on how the students did. Teaches to parallel park too! Great guy, request Bill!

Fantastic experience: For my 6th class I went to joliet where Bill Macfavlane helped me with my lesson, he explained everything very well and made sure I knew everything I would need to know for my road test. He was very patient with me and used a white board to help explain with more detail because I am a visual learner.

Fantastic experience: My experience at top driver was very good and also helpful. My instructor John Gauss was the best he made me feel very comfortable driving and made the lessons go by fast because we talked and cracked jokes. I 100% recommend going with him he will teach you all the key points and make the anxiety definitely go away. I feel more confident driving now because of top driver & Mr.Gauss!

Fantastic experience: As a 22 year old who needs to get her license desperately but put it off due to anxiety....this was the best option for me. I was very nervous about being taught by a friend or family member, and when being "taught" in high school, it caused so much stress for me. My instructor was very professional and made sure to correct me with a level voice. He would assure me any mistakes made were easily fixable and that learning how to drive at any age is nothing to be embarrassed about. We joked while on our lessons as well, and it helped keep me calm, while also giving me any and all instruction I needed.

Fantastic experience: Top Driver, from a students perspective, is a great driving school. Other than a few miscommunications in the beginning, I have had barely any issues, and since the beginning of the driving classes I have improved so much as a driver! I feel much more confident in my driving and that helps so much with the nerves of the actual test! Fantastic experience: Our daughters instructor was Bill Macfarlane for most of her drives. I am thankful that she had Mr. Macfarlane as she was pretty discouraged with the first few instructors she had, the pandemic and just the fear of driving! Mr Macfarlane was able to help her feel at ease behind the wheel and learn the things she needed to learn! I am so thankful she had him. Fantastic experience: Mr. Macfarlane is a great instructor. My son had him a few times back in 2017 so when it was time for my daughter to sign up I was excited to see options on the website to select the instructor. My daughter has really gained quite a bit of confidence behind the wheel with Mr. Macfarlane. She enjoys her lessons and appreciates all the tips he shares with her. I'm very glad she was able to learn from him.

Fantastic experience: I had Mr. McFarland for all my drives, and he’s truly the best and the sweetest. He helped me well, made sure I would succeed and prepare me for the dmv. All the hard work paid off and I did!! I got my licenses. :)) I recommend Mr. McFarland for your drives, he’s just very understanding, and easy to talk to and understand. Fantastic experience: My daughter had behind the wheel driving with Mr. Parker, Mr. McFarland and Mr. Malinowski. All are great instructors and very friendly. They kept me informed of my daughters driving at all times. Mr. Parker was very friendly and very informative. I would definitely recommend this Top Driver Instructors (Mr. Parker) for your child's driving privileges (behind the wheel) classes. All instructors made it a point to remember my daughter's name (which was very nice)! I rate them 5 stars!

Negative experience: I have 6 children that have gone through drivers education, all of them except one took it through A Orland driving school, which cost me ALOT less & did an excellent job. This place, however, is VERY money hungry. Their teachers show up late & you can't reach them to find out if the lesson has been cancelled. The lessons are after school let's out so the building is closed when they do on the road . Then if you leave after waiting 20 minutes or so, its counted as a no show & you get charged! Needless to say their instruction is not much better & scheduling is a real hassle! Go to Ken's driving school, you won't regret it.
We are sorry that you did not receive the service that we intend for all of our Top Driver families. According to our records your daughter completed the program well over a year ago after starting with AOrland. While it must have been difficult to adjust to a new program, new policies, and new procedures after spending many years with another driving school we believe that our educational experience is by far the best in the industry for teen drivers. Fantastic experience: School is usually something not that enjoying :( however, when I attended top driver, it was an amazing learning experience that made me actually interested in what I was learning. My teacher Mr. McFarlane stressed the importance of practicing safe driving by telling us stories!! This method of teaching made even the kids who usually fool around pay attention. He didn’t just sit and teach because it was his job, he taught because he was passionate in his work. Anyone can just tell he cared for us more than students, but as people who will forever take the information he was sharing into our entire lives of driving. Not only that, but when there was a problem (such as being too chatty etc.) he would NEVER yell at us or make us feel bad. Mr. McFarlane was the best teacher I have ever had :)!!

Positive experience: Some of the teachers where in helpful in the drives sometimes. Depending on the instructor you get. I definitely recommend Mr.Mcfarlan tho. :)

Fantastic experience: We could not be more happy with our choice.. David Parker was my son's instructor and he was amazing. He kept the class fun while keeping the kids attention. His behind the wheel instruction was spot on. He was great with giving the kids constructive feedback so they learned from their mistakes and continued to improve each time they got behind the wheel. Mr. Parker thank you so much for all you did to help my son become a "Top Driver" :)

Fantastic experience: Top Driver is amazing! The process to sign my daughter up was so easy and stress free. But the absolute #1 reason Top Driver got 5 stars was because they have an AMAZING instructor named Mr. Parker!! He is so kind hearted, always smiling and really relates to his students. Fantastic experience: Our second just completed his driving school through Top Driver and again it was a great experience. Easy from the beginning to the end. I recommend Top Driver to all. They take care of everything. The instructors give excellent feedback. They cover the necessary driving skills which is great. Easy to schedule. Customer service is always good!

Fantastic experience: Coming from personal experience, Mr.Parker is the best teacher out there! He was so confident in me and gave me the best tips on how to drive! Negative experience: They were good with the actual classes, but when it came to the driving lessons they never sent me emails or reminders that I had a drive. And even double charged me. Then I finish my drives in March, and expect to get my certificate of completion when I come to find out that they haven't even sent it in and now it's may. I get my license on the 7th. And now they say it will take even longer. Very upset with them.
