Negative experience: Purposely make you fail to get money. I had my eyes on the road and was parallel parking. I drove forward a small amount once I was perfectly in the space and the instructor claimed that I had hit the cone, when I clearly hadn’t. I was told to get out of the car to see and the car was maybe 4inches away from the cone at its closest. I argued that but she made up some bs. This business is scamming people and failing them purposely to gain retesting money. Additionally the workers there are very rude and obnoxious to customers. DO NOT TEST HERE.

Fantastic experience: Everyone from the faint of heart to the ones most confident in their child, you should send your kid to Houston Area Driving School. They are so professional and thorough, you will discover through your child the bad habits you don't realize you do until they come home from a lesson. Start your kid's driving career on a great foot!

Negative experience: The person who answers the phone is very arrogant and has poor customer service.

Negative experience: This place is absolutely horrible. I have never experienced such a rude, unprofessional person before in my life. This lady screamed at me as if I was a child. Seems like a money gimmick. I have reported them to the BBB aswell as disputed all transactions. Highly suggest looking elsewhere if you need to have your child tested because this is not it.

Fantastic experience: Recommended. First time driving in the US and I book two 2-hour sessions to practice and learn the "laws of the land" in Houston. The instructor, Mr John Cernetisch, was kind and knowledgeable so I highly recommend him whether you are an experience driver or not.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I entered this place we have been treated very kindly, the receptionist was very welcoming and very helpful for all of our questions not to mention very kind, the driving instructor Ms.Berny was also very kind and gave me a lot of good conversations during my practice, I'd definitely recommend this place if you need some driving lessons or if you need to take your driving test :)

Negative experience: Terrible experience, it’s a scam. The lady was unreasonably picky during the exam in order to get you to pay more money. Trust me spare yourselves from having to go through it.

Negative experience: I called to have some questions answered, but the lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and condescending. I went somewhere else because if they were rude over the phone I could just imagine how it would be if I used there services.

Fantastic experience: Great driving school! The instructor was pedagogic, accomodating and above all calm and understanding. Within a week I had all the in-car experience I needed to pass the road test successfully. Administration was helpful as well as efficient and was run by a lovely team of lovely people.

Negative experience: My son went to them about 3 weeks ago .and had a bad experience. My son said the lady doing the road test was rude.and acted strange Towards him .so I don't recommend this place at all.

Fantastic experience: I had amazing experience with being a student at Houston Area Driving School. I am so grateful to my instructor John Cemetisch for being patient and teaching me so well! Negative experience: I have been driving for 6 years and moved to texas and happened to have to take the road test all over. I took the road test here and they failed me for running through a stop sign. This stop sign occurs right after turning after stopping at one stop sign. It literally occurs in the middle of the intersection and is difficult to see while turning Personally I feel this route is used on purpose to make students who do not purchase any driving courses with them to fail. I recommend other driving schools which will offer you the test and a car for much cheaper and are kinder during the test. Edit: just saw their response to this review, claiming that I wasn’t a customer here. I double checked and did in fact take the test here. This type of response should give you an idea of the type of dishonest business being run here.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE ORGANIZATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!! They will get your money and then it’s virtually impossible to get everything that you need from them. A checklist that includes a timeline would be extremely beneficial for us. Apparentl, Ms. Weatherford is the ONLY one that can do ANYTHING there however…yep you guessed it…she’s NEVER THERE!! The phone stays on the answering machine. My advise to you is to GO ELSEWHERE. For almost $600.00, I expected more from this group of unprofessional people. Yes my child did get his DL however it was a very stressful situation and for the amount that we pay up front, I shouldn’t have been this inconvenienced Nor treated so unprofessional. If you advertise opening at 10, be available to help your customers at the time posted, especially the ones who have paid already. And I added photos so they couldn’t lie with a standard reply if they have no record of us taking their class.

Fantastic experience: Worth every dime to take take the driving test near my home with no hassles. They are very friendly, and for the driving test use their Toyota Corolla so no worries about the condition of your vehicle. Also, very knowledgable as far as coordinating First Time Licensing with the DMV.

Negative experience: Dump of a small office with unfriendly staff, high prices, and arbitrarily picky driver test scoring. Yes, they get paid a second time if you don't pass and come back for a re-test. Much better solution: DPS was actually quite friendly, efficient (scheduled online for next day) and no wait upon arrival, and only $11 for test and license processing. Avoid the scam.

Fantastic experience: I'm not the type to leave reviews for anything lol but the houston area driving school provided me with such amazing service-- I just have to. From start to finish they made getting my license as seamless as a process as they possibly could. From the receptionists to the instructors... it's obvious they're very experienced and care about what they do!

Fantastic experience: I just took my 2 hour lesson, and road test with them. My instructor John was truly amazing.. I was so nervous haven’t had a license since I lost it at 18 for speeding. He explained everything that would be on the road test and made me feel at ease.. I also passed with a 97 :) parallel parking was never my forte.

Negative experience: If I could give this ZERO STARS I WOULD!! The lady that answers the phone is disrespectful. She talks to you nicely before you pay and then after you pay she treats you with the UP MOST DISRESPECT!! And what makes it worst is that she says she's the owner!! Please do not bring your money here no one should be treated this way when we're the ones bringing the business

Fantastic experience: I am 24 and was learning to drive after a terrible experience with another school the first time. I highly recommend this school to any student, regardless of age. Ms Berny was my instructor and she was awesome! I always felt comfortable during our lessons even though I was initially very nervous to drive. She picked me up and dropped me off at my house which was super helpful because I would not have had a way to the school otherwise. They were flexible with scheduling and responded to my emails quickly. Reviews saying the are rude over the phone do not match my experience. The people here were always very friendly and welcoming to me. I will be back again if I ever need a refresher.

You start a nice calm conversation with the lady in the front desk & she ends up having A BAD attitude & yells at you through the phone & in person for NO REASON ! I would never go there ever again ! as me as a student trying to take a test there . NEVER again . That lady thats in the front desk should NOT be the owner , doesn’t know how to treat the customers right.

Cecilia was prompt to respond to queries and emails and explained the entire process in great detail. Mrs Weatherford was friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend this school for anyone looking to complete their driver licence test in Houston!

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent experience at Houston Area Driving School. They were exactly what we needed to polish up those last few skills before the driving test. They gave great instruction and made my daughter feel confident and prepared. She scored a 99 on her driving test! Thanks for the help. We will be back with the other daughter in a couple of years.

Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school. I went in to take my driver’s test here and the staff is very considerate and flexible. The DPS messed up some of my paperwork and Houston area driving school was very quick to aid me in resecuring the testing documents so I could get my license. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for driving lessons or for a driver’s test.

Fantastic experience: Just went by today after going so many times to the dps, giving me contradictive corrections and waiting weeks to take the initial test and re test. I came here and in less than an hour I walked out with a passing exam, and very helpful corrections to any mistakes I made. I’m not leaving a good review because I passed. The people here are genuinely sweet and helpful, and I appreciate their advice and support. They teach you to be prepared for the real world. So for that I give them 5 stars.

Negative experience: Let me start with the building is not the easiest to find. Second, the lady who answers the phone and greets you at the front is rude, obnoxious and I would never give them $100. Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this place enough! I had a bad accident the day of my test so I called in and explained to them what happened, they understood so they ended up rescheduling me 4 months later without a extra charge. Everyone there is kind and has a great personality and after passing I was explained how could I done better in the test. Best 100$ I spent on a road test, and if I could go back there just to visit I could I would. Everyone there is lovely!

Fantastic experience: Needed to get my driving test done, and after about an hour of going through the various schools on google, came onto this one. Booked a driving test at 9am today, and took it at 3pm the same day. Wonderful staff and instructor, would, and will recommend this place to anybody who needs to learn how to drive.

Negative experience: Called 1:49 pm. Today. Asked about available road tests. Was chewed out by a senior lady who said, "I don't know off the top of my head, and u should have looked on our website..." Shut this place down if this is how u set up to receive customers!

Believe me from the moment you get in the office you forget your anxiety for the test, the staff is extremely friendly and they do their best to ease things up and get you in the mood before getting on the road. You can schedule your test as soon as you're ready with no need for long waits. I highly recommend this school. Thumbs up keep it up guys.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place! They really work with you to arrange driving times that work for you and your teen. The ladies are super courteous and helpful. They quickly respond to emails and phone calls. I highly recommend this place! We signed up for my daughter to take her driving test here, which was convenient and less stressful than at DPS.

Fantastic experience: After spending nearly a week trying to simply get a road test at the DMV, with appointment waiting lines up to 3 months, I stumbled across a small advertisement for an accessible, fast and effective road test at Houston Area Driving School. Amazingly I was able to take the test the same day I scheduled it, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Awesome Friendly Place, Great School and Teachers! First The Office Staff is there and answers the phone! It was so nice to talk to a real person! Other places do not even answer the phone. I was able to ask all my questions and get them answered. They were able to assist my teen, since I was looking for a Traditional Classroom Classes (Not Online). My Teen works best with Face to Face Traditional classes. My teen was able to ask questions and they made the classroom fun and interactive! Scheduling my teen's teen driving was so so easy. The office staff communicated with me via email. They gave me 9-10 days to pick from, or if I had certain days and times that worked for us, They were able to accommodate! We just emailed back and forth and all was scheduled up. I highly recommend using them for your teen's drivers education.

Fantastic experience: I must say this is a great experience. The in-class instructor was a great teacher and made the classroom environment very fun and lighthearted, except when he had to talk to us about all the nitty gritty consequences that can come with reckless driving. The in-car instructors are amazing as well. They give constructive criticism and helped me become less nervous about driving. Thanks Mr. O'Connor, Mr. Garcia, & Mrs. Weatherford.

Fantastic experience: Mrs. Callahan is an amazing instructor. She gave me very constructive feedback and taught me how to avoid mistakes on the road. She is very positive and motivating which I find very important features for the instructor.
