Ila Driving School

Negative experience: Do not waste your money on this shoddy and shady driving school. We had to go around and around in circles with them to receive driving lessons and a road test, only to have to go to another driving school for help. Cheaper is not always better.

Negative experience: Beware. If you take driving course for cert, request 2 copies. One for DPS and one for insurance. Son took course here, got 1 copy. When he got his permit, the DPS took the copy. Now my insurance needs a copy and Ila wants $65 to get another copy. For that price, he can retake online with Aceable and get the cert in digital format.

Negative experience: Every negative review is accurate. My daughter went here and the owner Ila is very unprofessional. Takes calls during instructions. Rude and curt with young drivers. Lied about number of classes taken and falsified documents to show an additional class which was not supported by confirmation text. Please, go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experienced They are so nice and patient and I would totally recommend to pay for your practice because they coach you with clear instruction and advice. It was quick and on time.

Negative experience: DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!! The owner is very greedy for money and very unprofessional. On more than one occasion, I witnessed unprofessional behavior from the instructor Ila. This includes impatience, raised voices which made me feel uncomfortable and less confident in my driving. She has rules for students and if we don't follow them she charges $35 which is ridiculous because she never follows her own rules. She is always late to class in the morning and blames it on the train and expects us to be on time or else she charges $35. She didn't even give me my last class which was already paid for in the beginning. She said if I don't pay $35 she won't take me on the road. Each class cost upto $70 for 55 min which she never returned. It is my hard earned money. She wasted my parents' time and money. The overall structure of the program is very disorganized. There was no consistency in the lesson plans, and it felt like she was not following the curriculum which I asked her to give me multiple times. I recommend not taking this class. Reply to ila driving school: Stop lying. You guys never contacted me or my parents. The $35 was because you were asking for extra money just because I forgot to confirm my appointment. I understand that but $35 is way too much and not to mention one of your rules i "if we are 5 minutes late you charge us $35" but ILA was late evrytime to my class. One day she was late 15 mins so my dad asked her to take extra 15 mins of my class and she got really mad and the next day she asked us to pay the $35 but shouldn't she also stay true to her rule of paying $35 if she is late. Because of her ridiculous act we missed 2 classes and wasted our money. So don't be saying that you called my parents or me and I have proof that you guys never called. Don't put false accusations on my parents you liars and greedy people.

Negative experience: I'am really getting tired of you guys using my neighborhood and using my cuddle sack as your driving course i live on Lexington Place. as your driving course as your own personal area for driving please use somewhere else to drive not in my neighborhood is not your driving course. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! also do not waste your money on this place they do charge $600.00 on doing the road test and the course itself its a waste of money you can take the course online instead of wasting money here. Online Defensive Driving and the test itself is only $35.00 Dollars why would want to waste your money on this place? for $600.00 Compare this to the cheaper ones you can do online instead paying that much on a test that you can do online and take it to the. Texas DPS office? once you are done then you can get your permit then get your real DL when you are ready. Im trying to have other people to save money instead of wasting it on a expensive place like. ILA Driving School. Compare this $35.00 to $600.00 witch one would go for? cheaper or expensive? Make the right choice and go with the 35.00$ dollars one. STOP USING MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: After taking this class and reading the reviews i could not understand why people would give this place a 1 star review if you want a class thats not going go teach you and be honest to you about if you are ready or not for the road test with the dmv then yes maybe this is not the school for you, the owner is very nice and very knowledgeable in the driving rules and regulations if you paid to be thought then thats what she will do teach you! I had to understand that what ever she would tell me was to help me understand my mistakes not to bash me i promise respect what she is telling you and apply it into your driving and you would for sure pass your test just like it did thank you Ms. Ila

Negative experience: Very rude instructor. Not friendly. Very greedy. She made me feel miserable the whole time. I was driving good. She wanted more money and made me fail purposely. I am going to complain to her to DPS. I never gave any negative reviews to anybody. She literally forced me to do this. You cannot reveal my full name. It is improper. Learn that first. Also, all your complaints are fake. Just to prove your point. I spoke to two driving schools near you after I took the horrible test with you. They said I need not parallel park and still pass the test. Also, I did not HIT the two parallel park posts. You failed me because you are greedy for money. With each turn, I turned the indicators on and drove in the correct speed limit. Instead of retaliating for the negative reviews, learn from your mistakes. This is a very small community. Don't push your luck too much.

Negative experience: I wish I would have read the reviews before I took my son here for his driver's test. My son said the lady teacher yelled at him the entire time and stressed him out. The teacher said he would pass if he came back for his second time. Such a money grab DO NOT go here.

Negative experience: I was recommended to do the pre test and all we did was practice parallel parking and go to the neighborhood. To me it wasn’t worth it because she only went over one thing what was the point of you’re not going over everything for the road test. I barely got my full refund back.

Fantastic experience: The Ila Driving school has very experienced instructor who are very efficient and clear in teaching. She took my nervous feelings away while teaching me how to drive. The instructor is very nice to me during the whole experience. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn how to drive.

Negative experience: Worst driving school I've ever seen. My mother attended 3 classes and the lady was rude and greedy. She asked to adjust the seat according to the way that she wants and it was really hard for my mom to drive with her. She shouts at you when you say something or make a mistake. You will loose your confidence if you are driving with her. Ill never recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: ILA is a good instructor, staff is very friendly and it’s nice place to learn driving.

Negative experience: Not a good place to give Road Test, especially not with the owner Ila. She is very unprofessional. They offer pre-road test training for $50, where they do nothing but let you practice parallel parking for 2-3 times, that too without helping you out anywhere. I took it with Ila, and she was very rude while training and test both. She boasts to be a very helpful person, but doesn’t hesitate at all to fail you for false reasons and ask you to take their full driving class trainings. Also, I wouldn’t recommend to pay cash here.

Negative experience: This is not a legitimate driving school. They use a cash options payment to give a discount. If you pay cash that open an opportunity for the school to fail you and have to retake the test for another 45.00 ? In our case , my daughter was taken to parallel parking first and failed for bumping the cone. Once that happen, they went right back to the school - total time was 5 minute. Never got to do a road test ? Guess what ? you out 75.00 dollars. When ask for a partial refund they decline due to the amount not refundable. They post the non- refundable information on a wall away from where you can not see it when you pay. Be aware there is no paper work or disclaimers for you to sign as well. I will be pursuing alternative means based on the integrity of deceptive practice toward customers who get taking advantage of from this driving school.I also went on the DPS web site to see what a road test might look like for an ordinary person. Well it turn out the parallel parking is the last portion of the test and can mess up and still pass ? Just getting the words out for my community in the area.

Fantastic experience: Went on Saturday for my daughters driving test.. office staff incredibly cordial ..office was all about covid sterility...very knowledgeable about complete DPS paperwork...driving test took about 20 min..testing instructor very patient and makes you feel relaxed and confident ! Negative experience: Don't go to this place. I had bad experience. The lady(owner) is very rude. March 2020 i signedup for 6 hours and paid $350 right away. I got 4 hours in 4days. Then they closed and told me they will contact me when they re-open, coz of the covid 19. I heard they reopened 2 weeks ago and nobody called me or texted me. 1 week ago I called her and asked if you guys are open or not, she said they are not open yet and she will contact me when they open. But few days ago I came to know from some one that they already opened 2 weeks ago. She lied to me. I went there today and she acted like she don't even know me and she don't remember. She asked me how can I help you. Then I told her my name, I received 4 classes total and 2 more left.... then she said "honestly I don't remember you". I asked her how can you say that, it is unbelievable that you don't remember me even 4 days I came to your school. Then she said, let me check your file. I waited and she came back and told me now I remember you but I couldn't find your file, but her husband (one who teach driving most of the time in this school)said I have 1 more class left for you. I reminded him that, 4 classes are done and 2 more classes left for me. She won't accept it. Then she told me give me your name and number and I will check your file then will contact you. I said ok then I left from that place. After 15 or 20 minutes later she called me and told that she found the file but I don't have anymore classes left. I was really upset and I told her that is not right 2 more classes left, coz I am the one paid and came for the classes and didn't get what I paid for. I told her I am here nearby, I am coming over and I want to see the file. She said ok. I went there with in 2 minutes. She pulled the file from the drawer and showed to me and I saw that she marked complete on those 2 days remaining after I left. I understood that she did some correction there. I told her that i know you just wrote it now after I left earlier. She said no you don't have anymore classes left and I can't do anything. I just left from that place and called the cops ‍♂️ and explained erything. Police told me dont leave just stay there somebody will arrive soon. I waited there the i saw her she closed the school and about to leave. I told her I already called the police and they will be here soon and if you can stay that will be great. She didn't listen and she left same time police arrived. I explained everything to him. Officer said I can go to fortbend County annex and file the civil complaint. Officer gave me the case number and erything. I'm going to sue them. They are not doing right. The lady is so rude. And not doing professional way. Please if you are going there learn driving after each class get the proof or get your file and put your signature to make sure you are getting what you are paying for. I don't mind or don't care that I didn't get 2 more classes but the unprofessional talk,untruthfulness, rudeness. Please y'll be carefull with this place. Thank you

Negative experience: The reception lady is a roach. She charged $6 just for to print two pieces of paper. She had the worst attitude because we told her we'll go home and print it out. The receptionist is extremely stupid.

Negative experience: I am disgusted and appalled by the unprofessional behavior exhibited by the lady who runs this school. She PURPOSELY withheld documents from me because she was upset that I didn’t take the road test at her establishment. When I called her the day of my test, frantically asking about the document she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about and and told me she was too busy for me and then put me on hold. I was unable to take my test and was forced to reschedule.IF I COULD GIVE THIS SCHOOL LESS THAN ZERO STARS I WOULD. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: It was really fun ...made me learn a lot of new things about cars and what I need to do when driving . I made a lot of friends and the teacher are really nice but BE ON TIME so you don’t miss a class nor have to pay!!!! Theirs a teacher that anyways goes to the school the 2nd or 3rd week and would always give some helpful tips about her past that we shouldn’t do and she makes the class really fun! Now....about driving ...I suggest you practice before so it won’t be hard on you when you start :) driving is a bit scary at first but NICK the driving teacher ...teaches really good and is really friendly and won’t get mad quick!! I recommend you go to this place !

Fantastic experience: I started the driving program pretty late as a senior in high school but it only took less than three weeks for me to pass the road test and master driving. Instructor Nick is great, he makes driving comfortable and a breeze. He is very encouraging and also has a good sense of humor! I fully recommend the Ila Driving school. The road test was scary and the person grading the road test was also blunt and rude, didnt make me feel comfortable at all and I was nervous too which didnt help... but the Ila driving school nonetheless was absolutely amazing.

Negative experience: Made an appointment for 2:30, showed up on time. We were told to take a seat and that there we three people ahead of us. The wait was one hour. I asked if they were taking walk ins because we had an appointment. The receptionist, which I assume was the owner, explained that the instructor had car trouble and was late showing up. May be this was a one time occurence? If paying $25 to use their vehicle for your driving test, be prepared, it's an old, small beater that has been involved in an accident and not repaired. The parking lot has lots of litter and the "school" is run down and tacky inside. I wish I could post photos. Also, we were charged $10 to use a credit card for the $75 fee.

Fantastic experience: It is a good driving school and the instructors here actually helped me to become a better driver and improve my driving kills.

Negative experience: This place is very unprofessional! They can be late whenever they want and leave the kids stranded outside a locked building for up to 20 minutes with NO NOTICE to the parents! However, the one time you are late they want to charge you all these ridiculous fees and not proceed with the lessons. We were never accommodated for their tardiness, which is not ok. Yet they want to instill "strict rules" for the students.. How about you be an example? I would not recommend this place to anyone! Save your time and your money with a more professional business and a place with more staff. For a "family owned business" they are not considerate at all.

Negative experience: The worse driving school that I have seen. They tried to get my money and don't even care my son pass the road test or not.They took my money a month before my son start to take the driving lesson. When I came to register , she told me that she will take care of my son until he get his driver lisence but it"s coming out different. They weren't teach my son for full 1hr driving, they came late and let my son go home early. She called me to bring my son over for the last 2 hrs practice. But when we got there, she said that my son is 18 years old and he doesn't need that. I paid $583 for whole package ,but my son drive really bad and don't even know how to do the parallel parking. And then they wanted me pay almost $400 more for another 6 hrs to retake the driving lesson.OMG! It look like I buy the driver lisence for my son. DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL WITH HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: The classes with Ms. Ila are good, she is a very good teacher and in the driving in the road part, Mr. Nick is a very good teacher, he makes sure you are doing the right thing, he makes feel good when you make a mistake, and he teaches really good, when you finally done with the on the road test, you come out driving like a professional. I recommend them, if you want your kid to learn how to drive, come with them. Las clases de escrito con la maestra Ila son muy bien, es una excelente maestra, te haces entender las cosas y si tienes preguntas ella siempre busca una respuesta. Las clases de manejo en la carretera con el maestro Nick son muy buenas, el enseña muy bien te explica como dar vueltas, y si haces un error no te hace sentir mal, el té corrige y te explica como hacerlo bien. Cuando ya acabas todo el proceso, sales manejando como un profesional. Si quiere que su hija o hijo aprenda a manejar tráigalos con ellos.

Negative experience: So first off I respect her work ethic and her business but her teaching style is nonexistent. She’s more the yell when you do bad and not tell you how to do good type of a teacher, which I know it works for some people but not me. I took her class a lonnng time ago and avoided writing a review but it’s something constantly annoying me so I have to say my exp. So she does come on time for drive times which is good. First time; she comes and puts me in the drivers seat and after we find an emptier road she just tells me what each button does but doesn’t really tell me how to control it or anything of that nature. Which I understand it’s really more of a muscle memory but I need a basic rundown of the RIGHT way of doing things before you yell at me for being wrong. After that we went through my neighborhood and I guess it was time to learn something else so we looked for an empty parking area to practice. We had a very tiny one and she decided we should learn U-turns. U-turns ARE NOT the first thing you teach a young driver. I understand the lack of empty parking lots but U-turns should never be the first thing you learn. And she added an extra drive time to the number of times I was with her. I know she mistook me for someone else cuz I only got in her car at the same time, no deviation, it was always 10-11 am but she added it a 2-3 class I never took. It would be better if she has me initial or sign after my drive time so I confirm it. It’s good she’s taking notes but don’t make wrong ones. That being said; I respect you and I hope your business goes well but get better at it for future students.
