TGA Truck Driving School

Fantastic experience: First, I would like to give thanks to God for opening the doors for me, sending me the right people to train me, and giving me the ability to obtain my CDL this past Friday on Valentines Day! Secondly, I am so grateful that I chose TGA as my trucking school at the El Camino College campus. My instructors, Andrea and Ivan, were excellent in getting me ready for the CDL exam. They were very motivating and encouraging throughout my 6 weeks with them. I had my ups and downs mentally, but they both kept me on the right track to graduate and obtain my CDL on my first try! They answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable, patient, caring, honest, and passionate about what they do. They treated everyone with respect and jumped in when we needed a helping hand. I will miss them both. I had other trucking school options but I chose TGA because they were accredited and were professional since day 1 of orientation. Tuition can be at the higher end, but you get what you pay for and some companies offer tuition reimbursement when you are hired. If you are an incoming student remember to stay optimistic and have a growth mindset. You got this! 10/10!! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Very Organized and thorough trucking school Esme and Eric are very knowledgeable and even learn new things themselves. But if you want to enroll you will not be treated like a child this is something you have to want but overall a true 5 star trucking school with 5 star instructors. Fantastic experience: Organized office and program - helpful and caring staff, from the office to the instructors - overall great experience AAAA+++ My expectations were exceeded! What I experienced at the school was nothing less than a perfect system of individualized attention and focus, combined with a thoughtful and comprehensive method of training and direction/support. They made sure there was a communication line open from the beginning to the end of my journey, for whatever we needed from them. They never let you give up. YOU will have to memorize a lot - so take it seriously. As long as you do, you will have all the time and support necessary to succeed. They offer manual and automatic training, and all training and study material is provided. Estuardo, Jonathan, and Eric are all amazing and genuinely knowledgeable and caring instructors. Caroline in the office is an organized, knowledgeable and extremely helpful professional. The owner Pablo really cares about every one of his students, and it shows through the exceptional treatment from all staff involved. I now have a manual class A with all endorsements; and thanks to the relentless support of the school, I was prepared FULLY for every step. If you want the best training and preparedness to attain your commercial truck license, definitely go with TGA!!!

Fantastic experience: TGA’s training system works well. They provide all the necessary tools such as the studying information printed out and organized. I had a great teacher Andrea and my road teacher Ivan gave me a lot of helpful info and advice. Emily helped me also. There is plenty of truck time to develop your skills. My class size started with 10 students & we had 3 trucks to work with. If you the student does your part, show up for every class, study the info you need for your test, dedicate yourself then TGA will definitely have you prepared. I’m the 4th of the first 4 in my class to get my Class A license on the 1st attempt. Thank you TGA

Fantastic experience: If you want your Class A this is the school you have to go to. I just obtained my Class A yesterday and I give all credit to my instructors Eric and Ivan. They actually care and want you to pass. They answer all your questions and are patient with you. They distribute time between you and your classmates equally and when you are nearing your DMV test date they will ask you what you are still struggling with and they'll give you extra time and help so that you are ready come test day. I want to thank Eric and Ivan for knowing their stuff and knowing how to teach complete beginners. I'll leave this statistic with anybody thinking of coming here; I had 13 students in my class including myself and 10 of us passed 1st attempt. If you're willing to learn and study, they are ready to teach.

Fantastic experience: The best Trucking school

Negative experience: One of most unprofessional companies I’ve ever experience. All but 1 trainer there are lazy, disrespectful, & races. This company only cares about the money and not the student is or how they are trained. The students will train you better than the employees. The admissions Director, Caroline Taito is mostly unavailable by phone and normally extremely biased to any situation that doesn’t benefit her for the company. This company will have you outside in the rain doing internal and external truck inspections without showing you where parts located. While other instructors will sit in the trailer, shouting out directions for skill test without any real direction. If you go to the school will be the worst decision you ever made.

Fantastic experience: I’d like to thank all the instructors and staff here again for helping me accomplish a major milestone in my life. They pushed me and motivated me to obtain the skills I needed to pass the tests, not only that they said they knew I would pass on my first try & I did. I highly recommend this school for anyone looking to get their own license. Thank you all once again.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank all the staff/instructors at TGA for what I feel going above and beyond the scope of what a truck driving school's scope of practice. TGA definitely sets their students up for success. I thank Camm, Pablo, Erick amd Caroline for accommodating me when my transportation was inoperable. They saw to it that I made it to ventura to take my test AWESOME. I can go on but there'a not enough space to share my apprecistion.

Fantastic experience: Awesome truck driving school that became my second family. The instructors and office staff really take their time in order to make sure you leave with your CDL. Fantastic experience: Tga Just passed my CDL last week. Took me one fail to realize how good of a driver I am lol jokes aside great school to learn at. Price a little high so if you can get any help I suggest you try. First few days spent with cam. This guy is a good dude funny and ain’t afraid to teach you. Sent me to the DMV confident enough to get my permit this was within a couple days of starting the school. My second instructor was Jonathan good teacher was on you. Taught you what you needed to move onto the next step. Christian was my next instructor. Another good teacher made me feel real confident taught me a lot. He made my experience a lot easier. Next instructors were Stu and Esmeralda. They were both very helpful as well. They were the ones that took me out for my driving skills. I guess I drove so good on my test the person actually testing me at the DMV asked if I had a class a license before. Guess this ment I drove good lol. Thanks guys. My last month was spent in Downey due to all the new changes. Martha also was a great help with my skills. Thank you as well. All in all great experience at TGA. Highly recommended to anyone trying to change there life and career.

Negative experience: RUN !!!! Go some where else sucks in every way $6000 u can pay cheaper some where else do you're research trucks suck old outdated they don't teach u right trucks break down and they take does same trucks at the dmv for ur test they gable with ur test No A/c in the trucks imagine taking ur test at the dmv with a hot!!!! Fantastic experience: Teachers are very knowledgeable and have taught me a great deal. But keep in mind you have to want it . Overall a great experience.

Negative experience: The teachers and the methodology are good. However the school has NOT ENOUGH RESOURCES FOR SO MANY STUDENTS!! Mornings and afternoons have about 15 students and only one old tacky truck. There was a situation where the students fought over the trucks!!! Ps: If you are applying under OC Workforce, they have a lot of good schools in their database! There is a CDL school in Baldwin HALF OF THE PRICE and there are about 12 TRUCKS, each student drives their own truck!

Fantastic experience: I PASSED ON MY FIRST TRY! First I wanna thank God for the ability to surpass this accomplishment on the first try. Fantastic experience: I made the right decision to pick TGA and I highly recommend going here. I started with zero experience and it took me about 13 weeks until completion, including passing my DMV test. Be ready to study your forms, then make sure to listen to what Joe tells you to do on skills, and finally get your road practice with Lina or Emily. I recently passed my DMV test and my CDL A arrives in 2-4 weeks. Thank you Pablo and all instructors at TGA, God bless you all

Andrea is one of the best instructors by far for me, she’s very patient with you and breaks down everything piece by piece. Fantastic experience: Best school in California! Never driven stick shift before??? No problem!!! They got you!!! This was my first time driving stick and I passed my first try at the DMV in horrible weather conditions. Fantastic experience: For those who come to read the comments to choose a school. Let me tell you my experience. Yesterday, I passed my test at the DMV on my first try, I'm so happy. After 12 weeks now I have my CDL and a few weeks more for my endorsment. So, I am very grateful to my instructor Andrea, I saw the effort she puts into her work, looking for different ways to teach you, she explains over and over until you understand, drive and perform the skills. I advise you that if you come to this school ask about her, to be your instructor,. Cam a great personality, a lot of experience, Emily is very kind to explain to you any question, but Andrea is the one who will teach you to be a safe and responsible driver. I was very lucky to have been your student.

Fantastic experience: Recently passed my cdl. School was great and structured! They really do a great job preparing you for the dmv. I would say the school felt harder then the dmv exam, that is how well you are prepared. The instructors are great and have a lot of patience! Fantastic experience: TGA TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL IS AWESOME!! My personal journey, has been challenging to say the least. Having to wake up for my regular job @ 2:30/3am work the day, and then go to evening classes from 6-10pm, but with the patient instructors ( Christian, Cam, Andrea, Rudy, and even Pablo, thanks!) I was able to complete my course and successfully get my class A. I like the way the course was designed. With structure, compassion, and understanding. I've integrated TGA into my life, and will miss seeing them on a regular. You'll get out of the class, what you put in.. they give you the opportunity to get a great foundation for a career in truck driving. I've heard of nightmare truck driving schools, and TGA is not one of them. From instructions, road time and skills, they are there to help. Fantastic experience: I recently graduated from this school in July and it was the best decision I had made. I have to thank Andrea, Pablo, Rick, Cam and joe for working with me in this career change that I pursued. This is a great school to come into with little to no knowledge of being a truck driver. It wasn’t easy but as long as you are dedicated by coming everyday, learning your skills, external and internal inspections (ext.) you got this ! The instructors will encourage you that you can do it and don’t give up.

Let me tell you that you won’t be disappointed the instructors are great and very respectful. I did everything they asked me to do and when the time came for me to take my test I had no issues. Fantastic experience: I recently just passed my CDL. I recommend this school is AMAZING the front office girls are very friendly. I started off with Andrea and Pablo teaching me straight line back and Parallel skills. Then I when to their other location where Joe and Cam are, Cam was my instructor and he taught me the other skills, offset and alley doc. I really have to say Cam helped me tremendously I am extremely thankful for his patience and dedication. I would not be here today if it wasn't for this great school and their hard working instructors. Within everything you have to keep up with learning your forms and air breaks. I didn't pass the first time which was devastating but the school kept teaching me and I was successful on my second attempt. After I pass I got a certificate from the school and Caroline helped me apply to jobs. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL. Don't give it a second thought, don't let your dreams keep being dreams put them into action! And over all BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. You got this mate.

I want to thank all of the amazing instructors at TGA, Andrea, Cristian, Cam, Rick and Pablo they did everything that was in their hands to help me pass. Negative experience: Not a good school, when you enroll you have to wait like 3 months to start the training, they scheduled me to an orientation and the day I showed up to the orientation they tell me that they canceled with out notification ahead so I waist my time and gas, they're not professional and supposedly they gonna call me and till now no phone call yet I don't recommend it. You guys never want to take your fault .you always said is our fault

Fantastic experience: I went threw this school in 2015. Staff and this school is top notch. Everyone I dealt with from office lady to owner was wonderfull. I should of left a review a long time ago. They teach you all the basic stuff you need to know to become a truck driver. If they fill your struggling at something they will work extra to help u succeed. I' went over the road for awhile then worked in port for awhile. Now I'm a local pick up and delivery driver makeing a decent living. This is the perfect school I'm telling ya.

Fantastic experience: This is a really good school. My brother passed the first time. The staff dedicates themselves to making sure you pass and they help you with job placement after.

Negative experience: I got through six weeks of truck driving school at TGA after heaving studying memorization and behind the wheel driving, backing. I was told to go home for two weeks after they told me my driving was much better! Does that make any sense!!!! They finally called six weeks later to return. I was sent home with students that could not drive very well or back the trucks which wasn't my case. This was because they could work with students that already had their class B. The trucking equipment is old and not properly maintained well. I am sorry I spent my time and money from state rehab here!!! Be wise and try a different truck driving school, what a mess!!!

Fantastic experience: Don't skip over this review. My name is miguel! Im from newyork! YES IM BLACK. I came to this school and I enjoyed it everyday! They'll tell you right away to study study study. Take all the endorsements prior to taking the road test. If you wanna get your motorcycle license do it also, it'll be easier. Yes the class is costly but it is worth it. If you are unemployed you can apply for the grant. The class is morning or night and the closer to the end of class the more time you get to practice your driving and skills on the truck. THE FASTER YOU GET YOUR PERMIT THE FASTER YOU GET TO DRIVE!!!!! They will give you recommendations for jobs that pay more the 20 a hour but you can also do your own research and start applying right away!. This course is going to 75% memory 25% driving. Because the dmv is the same way!

Fantastic experience: I went there with no idea of what to expect only the past career of bus driving. The classroom experience was overwhelming learning some important rules and career in trucking. As we went through, and not to say I was very intimidated by me being the only female with little to no knowledge, I slowly gain confidence that I may not succeed. When skills came along I froze but greatly to say TGA skilled trainers was there all the way. I was harder on myself and lack of confidence I could be great. WRONG ALL THE WAY. I took my dmv test and passed with no problem, I'm saying this to let anyone know believe and know they will give you excellence 02/14/2019 graduate Thank you TGA staff. The best move

Fantastic experience: The Best Driving School Around, you get what you Paid for. I went to different schools to see and hear the ways they teachers interact with the Students and The Class Size. I also picked TGA because the Length of time they take, some take 6 weeks others take 8 weeks. TGA takes 10 Weeks because they Teach you very well not rushing just to pass and get your LICENSE. They don't waste your time and no Horse Playing around. They Care.

Fantastic experience: The folk at TGA have developed a training process that I believe to be highly effective. I'd recommend them to anyone with a serious desire to learn how to operate a commercial vehicle. Pablo, Kristy, Martha, and Pancho are the absolute best!

Fantastic experience: My name is Cecil Brambila and I finished my schooling last week July 3rd 2019 ,when I passed my DMV driving test. I just want to thank all the Staff/Instructors at TGA . They are very kind professionals that guide you and teach you [ALL] that one must know to successfully pass the required DMV tests and acquire the CDL Commercial Driver's License. Note: You the student must make an effort by studying and following instructions. If you do this, when the time comes to go to the DMV everything will fall into place for you. So I want to thank the school staff starting with the ladies, Martha, Christie, Carol, Pablo, Edgar, Francisco, and Steward. So if you are an individual that is responsible, persistent, eager, and with the willingness to accomplish your goal (the CDL) without any excuses, this is your best choice for TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I studied the DMV hand book on my own passed my written tests and got my permit. I looked at a number of different schools in the LA area. I did my homework. I was recommend this school by a friend. From the day I walked in here I knew this would be the right choice for me. TGA has a very structured curriculum, Pre trip Inspections, Air Brakes, backing maneuvers, & road work. They teach you everything you need to know to pass. They really break it all down. I’m a really slow learner, and had to really apply myself. I got my CDL on my 3rd try. I had no prior truck experience or mechanical experience. The staff is very professional and will really push you to succeed. I now have a new career thanks to TGA. This school was worth every penny.

Negative experience: Not a school for African Americans, instructors work together showing favoritism to other races. Not enough drive time to distribute fairly with the classes being so full. I spent more time walking around a truck than learning any drive skills or training. Stewart was rude , disrespectful and unprofessional. Pablo was always available only to justify the staffs poor attitude and training. The first day of class the instructor Kristina gave us a speech on affirmative action and let us know it doesn't apply at Tga trucking. I'm surprised they still get government funding. Total waste of time. School ran by racists who are in it for $. They act like they don't have a clue and everyone who complains gets recycled. Don't waste your time with these kids. Very real X-student at this very poor school. Open for discussion anytime

Fantastic experience: Really good school, Caroline helped with my GI Bill from the beginning, the instructors , Pablo, Stewart, Chris, Francisco, all gave instructions on what to study and tips for the driving test that when the day came for my test at the dmv I passed on my first try, thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: First I'd like to thank all the instructors, Pablo, Christian, Alex, Fransisco, and Stuart. They are great at what they do. They each have a distinct teaching method but want only the best for all their students. All they ask is that you put in the time be their every day and trust them. When they send you to take your DMV test I assure you you will be over prepared and should pass the first time.

Negative experience: Edgar is spanish instructor..very rude man. I paid for one hour and i did 50 minutes..

Fantastic experience: This trucking school is by far the best! They are very thorough with explaining everything from written test to doing your skills and road driving. They also help you get all endorsements with background checks which is a HUGE plus. Pablo, Estuardo, Alex, kristie, and Edgar are phenomenal instructors!!!! On point with everything and very very knowledgeable. Also Caroline at the front desk is also very helpful with financial aid, or whatever you need. She helped me get all my VA benefits done so I can receive my post 9/11 GI Bill with no worries. I passed my DMV test first try with no problems at all. I honestly can say after seeing every other school and the way they were doing at the DMV.....TGA is the best no doubt. Don’t second guess yourself and start your new career...I did and got hired by a good company before graduating...just saying. :)

Negative experience: The instructors don't help u . If you are of African decent they don't treat you fairly and give you the same amount of skills as other nationalities. They tell you one thing and do the exact opposite.

Fantastic experience: This school provides you with all the tools you need you acquire a class A license. I achieved this in 5 weeks. They have plenty of trucks to practice walk around inspection and air brake tests, when you're not out on the road or practicing on skills. The instructors are patient and very knowledgeable. I had no experience driving a semi truck, and they guided me the whole way. If you do what they say, you will go to the Dmv exam feeling confident as they provide you with enough knowledge and road time to pass your exam. DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER SCHOOL. 5 stars for my experience here. Thanks TGA!

Negative experience: At first i got excited to come to this school. But while attending i was treated very poorly. This school is understaffed, plays favoritism, not enough driving and time to practice skills. You pay 300 for books or so-called school material but they are 2-3 set of copied pages of 2-3 chapters. They lie about the dmv process and screw you on getting your tanker and doubles and triples endorsement( ask them for the packets prior to finishing your road dmv test to passing your license test or you will not be able to get your endorsements after. Your dmv file is closed but you can open it back up to add endorsements after passing your dmv road test for a 40-50 dollar fee.But you have to take the tests within a year of taking the written tests or you will be taking every test over again). They say that you will be able to keep your dmv file open and take it after you pass your dmv driving test(LIES).This place is family run and they are quick to turn against you. Your lucky to get 15 minutes for practicing your skills on the truck and 15 minutes of road driving time a day( not what they promised on the contract). I said i wasnt getting enough driving and practicing time To stewart(one of the teachers at the school)and i almost got kicked out of the program. The truckes and old and run down. They have 5-6 students per class when they are only equipped to handle 2-3 students per class. Tga trucking cancelled class when they wanted to when they felt like it without notifying the students and made us come to the school to waste our time and gas money. There were 3+ days when i would come to class and not have any time to practice my skills on the truck or drive on the road but just stand around and be told to study the material for 3 hours and leave for the next school day.lm glad i graduated and do not attend the school anymore. The jobs they refer you to( gardner trucking and associated ready mix) are dead end jobs. Gardner pays you 10 dollar for training and you get 16 a hour after training. Gardner has no room for advancement and is considered a place to get your minimum experience to get into better companies. Associated ready mix only requires a class b and tanker. This place delivers cement and doesnt count as class a experience and is a seasonal job. When it rains you dont work. Thanks pablo and caroline for letting me know. 10 dollars a hour for training and 20 after training. I only kept my mouth shut because i needed my class a for a better life. If they dont like you they will not help you. Only set you up for failure. BE WARNED!! Dont let them take advantage of you and take your hard earned money.also im enclosing pictures from when i went to the school and the material( supposedly 300 dollars in books that you are paying for when attending the school. What a joke). So this school cannot say that i didnt attend there. Message me if you want more information about them. I will more than gladly share the information.
