Nova Driving School is one of the most reputable driving schools in the Chicagoland area. We offer a variety of classes to serve our community. Since 2003 we have expanded to 5 locations within Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, Hyde Park, Little Village, Evanston and Norridge. Nova Driving School offers programs for teens and adults including preparation for written exam and road test. Continuing education programs such as Class C-Non CDL, Motorcycle, Defensive Driving Courses and much more.

Negative experience: First of all I paid for beginner 8 hour driving with the road test but I ended not even being help my road test. I had 4 classes each with a different instructor except one of them I got two classes with him. He was very unhelpful as he didn’t instruct me how to do anything. He was on his phone most of the time and since it was the first time I was driving I didn’t knew how to do certain driving skills such as turning. This was the hardest part to do and without any help. The only thing he would do is take the wheel from me and do it himself. This is no help as it didn’t teach me anything so I can take the skill with me during the road test. I ended class with a headache not wanting to go back as I thought I will learn how to safely drive. I talk to them about it but the option they gave was to give my the 2 hours they were going to use for the road test for another last lesson. This was no help since I paid to get my 8 hours of driving with the road test but I had to do the road test on my own or I was given the option to pay for another 2 classes. I give this place a 1 star as there instructors are not helpful at all.

Fantastic experience: I had Pedro as my instructor for most of my lessons and I passed! I got the pick up at home option, so it was convenient while not yet having a car. He took me the route of the dmv test to practice for a couple of my lessons as well as right before the test, and I think that really helped! He was able to give me tips that I hadn’t known when I took drivers ed in school. Pedro was a great instructor and I feel a lot more confident driving after taking the 12 hours of lessons. Truly so helpful and nice!

Negative experience: The class and instructor was amazing. But the office staff was really unprofessional when it came to obtaining my certificate. Told me to pickup the certificate on Tuesday, made me wait 30 mins without giving any sort of information. Kathy reply was “I cannot help you, I don’t know where your certificate is, this is normal process for everyone”.

Fantastic experience: Nova driving school was a great experience and offered me so much support throughout my learning. As someone who came in with little driving experience, Dario was supportive and challenged me while offering helpful tips that helped me learn easily. It was through Dario believing in me and constantly pushing me to try again that I learned to drive and grew to really enjoy it! Overall this school is incredibly helpful in helping you learn to drive as well as with help scheduling a road test. Given that I do not have a car this was very helpful as they ensured that I had a car as well as a Nova driving instructor to practice with beforehand. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my experience at nova! The group I was with was very talkative and funny but that’s cuz it was the weekend, if you come on weekdays it’s more likely to be a quiet group, so whatever you prefer! I loved my group and the teacher! Thanks for the lessons nova!!

Fantastic experience: I always have been so scared to drive and get my license. My anxiety could never had let me be comfortable and confident that I can do this. But when I met Mr.Pedro he was so patient and so informative which made me feel at ease. He never once made me feel like he was getting irritated with me. He made me comfortable with the road and instructions so when it all came down to give my test, tell me why I was so assured I’d get it and didn’t feel as anxious as I would’ve before this practice with Mr.Pedro. When the instructor sat with me I knew how much the speed I’m suppose to be at, how to take precise turns where there were tricky turns at, and how to be calm and collective during the test. So thank you Mr.Pedro for all the help and I’m glad you got assigned to help me during that day.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Nova and I couldn’t recommend this service enough. Pedro my driving teacher was so patience and affirming that I felt comfortable in the car even tho I was so nervous beforehand. After trying to get my license for serval years and backing out because of anxiety all it took was a 2 hour class with Pedro and I passed with no notes.

Fantastic experience: Pedro was the best instructor a nervous driver could ask for. He stayed patient the entire time and was always encouraging. He eases any anxiety one may have by giving visual examples using drawings and toys. I got my license today through his guidance, and I’m very thankful for this driving school.

Fantastic experience: I did 6 hour road lessons with Dario and I successfully passed my road test. Dario was very good in teaching key points, I spent enough driving time on the same road as the actual DMV test which gave me great confidence. On the day of exam, he also walked to show me the DMV parking lot and how to navigate it. I highly recommend booking him and using the same instructor for all your lessons.

Fantastic experience: I contacted the school for me, A representative names Valerie helped me through all the process. She’s been really helpful and co-operative the entire time. Although I have a very tight schedule situation with having a newborn and very limited time, Valerie been helping me by keeping me a high priority which really made me feel overwhelmed. The instructors are fabulous and been helping me build confidence, I’m really thankful to the entire team for helping me through the process. I recommend this to everyone

Fantastic experience: This school was the first time I had any experience with driving, and I'm glad I can say my money was well spent. We covered a lot of material over the course of all my lessons, and by the time I had to do the road test I felt confident that I could pass. Props to David B, I definitely learned the most with him and he was my favorite instructor.
