Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at Shoppers Choice in Manassas back in 2022. I chose trucking, not fully knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. Ramiro runs the school exceptionally well. Classes were m-f 7 AM–4:30 PM, and despite the large number of students, he and his staff stayed late to offer extra training, some worked through their lunch hour. Their dedication made a huge difference. I initially struggled with manual trucks, but Ramiro brought in automatics so we could test on them, an absolute game-changer. As one of five women in my class, I was treated with respect, not just by the staff but by fellow students who shared real-world trucking knowledge. I studied hard, created a diagram of the truck practiced pre-trip inspections every night a few hours. The driving came naturally, but memorizing all the parts was the toughest part for me. I passed, and within a week, I had 10 job offers, mostly OTR, some local. Some students who didn’t pay attention in class struggled, but the instructors encouraged studying and forming groups, which really helped. I’m beyond grateful to Ramiro and his team for their support, patience, and commitment to our success. If you’re serious about getting your CDL, I highly recommend Shoppers Choice!

Positive experience: The staff, Jose, Carlos, Mr. Lee, and Eddy (sorry if any misspelling), are very knowledgeable and each bring their own experiences to the table. Everyone is approachable if you have questions, even Ramiro, the owner. The only thing is they need more staff! CDL licenses are always in need. While I was there, at one time there were about twenty students training. Classes are offset to reduce overlap but even when a single class has ten students, it can be difficult to get them daily on the road practice. Although understaffed, I'd still recommend them to anyone going for their CDL.

Fantastic experience: I will say this place is pretty fun , they show you the basics and then will show you and will help you if you mess up until you get it right and the teachers like Carlo , Mr.lee and Mr . Josue will teach you pretty good on stuff your having trouble with and the exams is pretty easy

Negative experience: I attended class here and was not able to get my cdl, very poor communication, it's like you're teaching yourself here and paying so much money in vein, the staff are rude from the teachers to the ppl in the front they only care about making money ad don't have patience I'm teaching better or answering questions , very disorganized staff , they have an asian guy outside doing parallel oarking and it's really hard to understand barely anything he says because his English is really bad and he gets upset and gives attitude when you do something wrong but can't explain , very disappointed with the experience, I'm still pursuing my cdl but this is not the place there's better school charging much less and actually take care of students and make sure that they pass

Negative experience: I got my Class A license with manual transmission from AAA. The staff is great and the instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. I tried it at Shipper's and I lost my money but if you want the license in automatic transition for 1400 and you live in VA you can do it with NOVA.

Negative experience: Worst place to train for CDL, they had no working trucks for class B and paid no real attention to Class B students.

Negative experience: They don't have an instructor for the dump truck. It's as if they don't care about the CDL Class B students, if they don't improve, they will lose many students because no one will recommend them for Class B.

Fantastic experience: Shippers met all of my expectations. I successfully obtained my CDL because of their thorough curriculum and hands on approach. I experienced only professionalism from all instructors. I’d specifically like to mention Mr. Romero and Mr. Carlo for their patience and knowledge. These skills are important and can benefit all. Fantastic experience: As of today it’s my last day in the class for my Class B CDL license, I have nothing but good things to say. The ladies in the front: Always smiling and greet you everytime you walk in. Very friendly and helpful. They don’t just care about you just paying the fees but actually care about you and your family. They are the front image of the company they are the first people you see when you walk in. The instructors: Man, I have a lot of respect for those instructors. The patience that they have with new students coming in that don’t have any experience. They teach you everything hands on and show you skills and techniques on how to do maneuvers the proper way and make sure you are well prepared before you get on the road. They take it seriously they don’t just pass people for the numbers. They make sure you are ready to be driving on the road and that you will be safe and the people on the road will be safe too. Also, if you want to get your Dump Truck license you should come here. Not the guys across. They charge you more and try to get you to learn on a school bus instead. That was my first option before I was referred to here by a friend. Which I’m thankful for.

Fantastic experience: I obtained my class A from Shippers Choice in Manassas in 2011, I don't know if they are still there but Mark the classroom instructor and Jason the road instructor were awesome as was Bill who was another instructor, Since I left ive been driving multiple trucks from dump trucks, roll offs, concrete, piggyback flatbed and ive pulled trailers as well, Its a great school that didn't require me to have a learners before enrolling just within the first 10 days, Shippers Choice is a great cdl truck driving school that I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my time at shippers, the most convenient part was that they do the DMV test on site and there is a brand new sheetz across the street. The staff was friendly and very cool to talk with during downtime, the school itself is always improving and listening to the students needs.

Negative experience: This place was a total rip off the instructors there don’t want to be there none of them stay or don’t come to work except for mr lee and he can’t seem to understand when your in need of help to explain further the equipment they use is ragged they train you in a sleeper cab and test in a daycab if you come from wash dc the test is harder for you because you have to pay $35 more than any other state u also have to take the entire from pretrip if you fail at any point you can only come on Tuesday if you need any extra practice so that’s 6 days to forget anything you learn in the hour and a 1/2 that you compete with 20 other students that need extra help (if they let you come anyway) the lady in the office that recruits has a very nasty attitude and is very unprofessional answering the phone unless your calling to give money and a class b license forget about it they don’t have an instructor for that the dump truck looks like it belongs to Fred Sanford save your cash go to a real school like I did afterwards and got my license in 10 days

Fantastic experience: This class properly prepared me to pass the test to obtain my CDL learner's permit. Also trained me for passing the pre-trip exam when taking the driving test. Fantastic experience: Thanks to my main man SINGH for all of your help. SINGH has never been reviewed and I promised to leave him a review when I passed my exam. His English isn’t the best but he understands and conveys concepts well. “Turn to trouble!” Hahahahaha All of the people who are working here are approachable, down to earth and easygoing. I have registered to start training in this school but lttr on I found out that this school is not giving DMV driving appointment soon when finishing the school, I changed my mind and changed the shippers to AAA. When I asked about my refund, they behavior me badly. They acutely behave not only with me and did the same with everyone els.

Fantastic experience: I was in school for four weeks and I got my license after it two weeks. Total of six weeks worth of anything. The teachers are great the manager and the owner is awesome they help a lot. Special mr. Ramiro mr. Lee, mike and front desk vanessa. Definitely recommend it they’re so helpful and great at what they do!

Fantastic experience: I already pass exam and have certificate. I am really appreciate to Ramero for like this great team. Also, Mrs. Lee best instructor, Natan, Mike all guys are very helpful and professions in their side. From office to outside i am really appreciate. I can advise this course who really want to learn and work with good team. And the important think is they are doing exam inside of the course, so if you are ready you can try yourself as soon as possible.

Y obio que la escuela no te regala la licencia . Pues no solo depende de como ellos te enseñan o te entrenan sino que ellos te enseñan el camino y uno como estudiante tiene que poner de su parte y estudiar todos los dias hasta el dia de tu examen .. y si eso implica tener algunos sacrificios pues hay que hacerlos . Negative experience: This school is very bad.what they said sounds like good but in fact they are very bad and evil.Never trust them.Usually many students practice one truck.You need to wait hours to get your turn for practicing.You will waste a lot of time and money.At last you will fail many times.They will charge you for money every time.They said other school was bad ,in fact they were the worst one.After your paying ,they don’t care about you any more.The only thing they care about is charging you money.You will feel very upset.And they don’t allow students talk about them.They will lie again and again.

Fantastic experience: Big shout out to the instructors, especially: Jose, Carlo, Constantine, and Hercules. These instructors went above and beyond for me to obtain my CDL. It didn't matter how many times I had to work on pre-trip or if I stalled out on the road, these brothers had my back. This is why I have to give this school a five star rating. You do have to apply yourself outside of the class, studying for the pre trip. Also if you focus on your skills you should be successful on your road to your CDL

They have awesome instructors and Management right from Mr Ramiro, Mr Constantine, Mr. Carlos, Mr Carlo, Mr Lee, Mr Smith and Mr Jose. I have 5 star rating for Mr . Carlos he is the best for road training to overcome road fear. Mr Lee is best for skills. Mr Ramiro management is fabulous to keep discipline and address complaints. where as Mr Constantine is like mentor. They all worked with me to get my CDL-A. Fantastic experience: Shippers' Choice was a great experience for me. I had a busy work schedule and wasn't able to come every day but they were able to accommodate my needs. Driving a manual transmission truck did not come easy for me. But they were patient and worked with me to build up my confidence and knowledge. After I completed the course I went on to pass my CDL exam on the first try. The test went very well and I owe all of that to their dedication. They have 2 separate lots to practice with the trucks. So there is always ample space and practice time for learning the skills. The road instruction was top notch as well. They really make sure you have your double clutching and down shifting perfected before you test. Also every week the school brought in recruiters from all types of companies, the big ones and the small ones. They bring the companies to you which is an immense help. They make it so that you can already have a job lined up before you even test. I myself went with Schneider and it was because I had the opportunity to meet with their recruiter at the school. And I love my work. So yea it's a great course and Romero and Constantine are really nice people. Covid hit me hard and these guys came through for me and now I have my cdl and awesome job. Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: I did not know about Shippers’ Choice in Manassas, VA before going to it, I reached out to two other schools in the area, but the vibes weren’t right for me. They were not very helpful. I was recommended by a Schneider’s recruiter to come to Shippers’ Choice while attending an event. He called up Vanessa, and she set up an appointment for me to come in the very next morning. I spent about an hour with Michael who was very patient. He answered all my questions and got me started in the next available class. I came to the school when they had just moved over to the new building, so things were a little out of sort. It is a big and spacious facility though. On the first day Romero and Constantine went over the course with us. The most important takeaway for me was if I hustle and do my part, they will do everything to get me tested and have my license in hand as soon as possible. The instructors absolutely did their part. I worked with 6 different instructors the whole time I was there. All were friendly with a wealth of knowledge. They all want me to succeed. They taught me exactly what I needed to learn and shared their real-life experiences. They encouraged the students to work together. I worked with 5 other students, and we helped each other practiced and studied. I now talk to these guys regularly. We all encourage each other to do well. It was an awesome experience going through Shippers’ Choice. From the first day of class, I was in a truck practicing maneuvers. Some of the instructors do not speak fluent English, but that wasn’t a problem for me. I paid attention to what they were communicating and hand gestures and had no problem understanding. This is a great place to get started on your CDL license.

Fantastic experience: I love this school, this school is the best choice for any one wanna be come truck driver! I graduated this school at Nov 10, 2020, a week after the D.M Bowman Inc. hired me, yes I am a truck driver and I very happy now. At Shipper’s Choice Manassas, I received any thing I need to become a good truck driver: - Good officer assistance: They will advice to you any thing you need to know about CDL license, school training schedule ... and sure, they will give to you sone promotion for reduce school fee . The officer staff will responsible advice for you any questions from you at any time before, during and after you attends school, they was make me very comfortable at any time I need to ask them. - Good Training: All instructors are experienced, they instruct very carefully, they know what weaknesses I need to fill. They very friendly. They builded on me, from an ignorant man to being a real truck driver. Now I can across this country by my tractor with 53 feet trailer. - Good scheduling: After class time, They can give to you very flexible schedule to training that will fix with your work schedule, they have morning shift and after noon shift, that was very good for me to training little later at night, after my work hours... Finally I need to tell that: Shipper’s Choice Manassas is not only school, it changed my live to bested and is my family!

Negative experience: They worst school! It took me for ever. Why?? The truck seat was broke, they over book the class.. with under staff.. I had to drive 2.5 hours to the other location in Charlottesville... money and time I didin agree to when I signed my papers... The instructions are slow AF... they want you to pay on you loans even when their at fault.... I called 3 times for my certificate still to this day I haven't received it... I graduated a month ago.... would NEVER recommend this school

Fantastic experience: I’m green to the trucking Industry. I did a lot of research on the CDL schools in the Virginia area. Shippers Choice is the best school to attend if you want to get your license. Talking to other schools I ran across a lot of money hungry businesses. Walked in and talk to Ramiro at Shippers Choice Manassas and respected his honesty. I didn’t know how to drive a Manuel transmission, he assured when there done I will. He kept his word. All the trainers at the school are great and patient. 2 of my favorite trainers are Constantine & Li. These guys took there time to explain and trained till it stuck. I now have my Class A license ready for a new career. Please don’t get ripped off by some of these trucking schools like I did in the beginning. Shippers Choice Manassas is the only way to go. Getting things done took a little bit longer than i expected due to covid and the amount of students on schedule but overall i enjoyed learning to drive with the staffs and training they provided.

Fantastic experience: I want to be as candid as possible so you can be unequivocal, evident, to the right choice. the school is well structured. I was skeptical too when joining a school but after seeing multiple school I had to be audacious. To All the trainers, consintin, Jose,Charlie,Jeff and Carlos. Tremendous people very cognizant, bodacious and caring. Servile people who come with positive attitude showing you all the tricks. As student you need to put part of your own if your reticent on what you have to work on, your not going to pass! They give you all the tools don’t lack! Ask question, practice, practice, practice. Take advantage of the time you have there after all your paying for it. To future students who want to obtain Cdl license this school is the place. It was sublime I would do it again!

Positive experience: GREAT School. The wonderful lady in charge is quite hot and made it hard to focus on my studies, but I did pass my CDL on the first try. All of the instructors are great and genuinely care that you are learning. The instructor Jose is wonderful and I feel the training would not have been as fun if he had not been there. The gray cat is the hardest worker there, the school would have to shut down if that cat wasn't there to keep the rest of the crew in order. The one bad thing is the commotion that would occur for truck time. It would be nice if you had a system to prevent all the BS of taking turns. Or you can just demo the barn taking up space in the middle and add more trucks.

Positive experience: The Good 1. Their staff are all very knowledgeable in all aspects of trucking. It's very rare that they can't answer your questions. The instructors all seem to have decades of experience behind the wheel. My favorite instructors are Constantine, Jose, and Carlo. I find that they have positive attitudes, are easy to get along with, patient and always willing to help you out when you need it, provided they have time. Constantine especially is very patient, I've never seen him get upset or frustrated with a struggling driver. He's generous with positive reinforcement and is very encouraging. 2. Your results may vary, but the classmates I have are all very nice and friendly, and the atmosphere of the class is geared toward helping eachother. It's a very diverse class, people come from all cultures and walks of life here, but everyone feels welcome and part of the group. You're all trying to learn the same skills and you help eachother out. When you go into this class, be as friendly as possible with your fellow students and make friends early on. You're probably going to need their help. 3. They accept GI benefits, so I was able to attend these classes for free. If you have some hangups with paperwork or dealing with the VA, they are patient and won't kick you out just because there's a delay in getting everything you need. Robin in the office seems very good at dealing with these issues and can usually help you out. The guy they have in charge of student enrollment is also very good, although I forgot his name (sorry). 4. If you don't have everything down by the time the four weeks is up, they'll let you keep coming in for practice time after your official course has ended. The students still there from older classes are usually just practicing parallel parking, and they often help the newer classes learn pre-trip and straight-back. I look at them as auxiliary instructors. If the instructors are too busy, seek out one of the senior students from the previous class. 5. When you're trying to get your learner's permit, they count time spent at the DMV as class time, so you don't have to try to go to the DMV on the weekends to take those tests. 6. There's a wide variety of recruiters that visit Shipper's Choice, and the instructors often have personal experience working for these companies. Jeff especially seems to have been all over. There are plenty of companies to choose from and all of them will train and hire you fresh out of school. The Bad 1. The class sizes are too big compared to the number of trucks and instructors. It's hard to get any private time with an instructor because they're usually busy with other students. When you're in the lot, you'll generally be learning more from the other students than from the instructors. 2. Since there are so many students, you're going to be competing with the others for seat time. You'll only get maybe five minutes of practice in the truck before you have to switch with another student, and the most times I've ever been in a truck in one day is four. So out of the three hours you spend in the lot, you might only get 20-30 minutes actually in the truck, if you're lucky. 3. As previously stated, all of the instructors are good. But I do have a small complaint about two of them. Jeff seems to get frustrated more easily than others when a student gets stuck, and I think it flusters some people and makes it more difficult for them to learn. Charlie seems to have a bad habit of answering questions with "you tell me". If we knew the answer, we wouldn't have asked the question. It just annoys the student and gets in the way of learning. 4. They should be more up-front about how long it REALLY takes to get your CDL. While the course itself is 4 weeks, a lot of people need to spend more time practicing after their official course ends because of the issue with limited time in the trucks. A few of the senior students are still here from two classes ago! Don't go into this thinking you'll be done and working for a company in 4 weeks. Plan ahead for extra practice time.

Fantastic experience: TLDR version - Shipper's Choice is an excellent school and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking to get a class A or B license. Shipper's Choice is designed to help you succeed. The instructors were instrumental to my success. I was given lots of practice time both in the yard and on the road to prepare me for the CDL driving test. The office staff was very helpful and encouraging. They have driver recruiters that hire directly from the school. If you're wanting to jump start a new career, this is definitely an excellent option. Instructors are always punctual and factual. They work hard to make sure you understand the trucks inside and out. Negative experience: My wife went there over 10 years ago to get her CDL. 3 days into it she decided it wasn’t for her. Now we are paying back over $10000 all because of a promissory note she signed on the first day. They wouldn’t let her get out of it and she didn’t receive the training. Fantastic experience: Awesome place to get your CDL from. The instructors are great. I enjoyed my time here. A few times I wanted to give up but one of the instructors convinced me to push on and I now not only have my CDL but a great career making over 80k a year in my first year.

Fantastic experience: Wow! Don’t know how to start. Just took my test for my class A CDL. And I passed first try. This school is great. I went weekends only. The instructors really have a good understanding of what people are good at and what you may need Work on. Nobody will hold your hand. You have to bring it every time you come. Listen and actually understand what these are teaching and you will be fine. All they need is some effort from you. Constantine and Herb and all of the guys, those guys have over 20 plus years in trucking. So if you are patient and just listen to them you will succeed. Thank you Shippers Choice.
