- Dedicated Instructors: Many users praise the instructors for their passion and commitment to student success, mentioning names like Kandi, Kenny, and Carl as exceptional educators.
- Comprehensive Training: Students appreciate the thoroughness of the training, which covers essential topics such as safety and practical driving.

Nevertheless, the overall consensus highlights KLLM as a solid choice for those serious about pursuing a career in trucking.
KLLM Driving Academy: Reviews
Negative experience: They shut down the school because they had those classes packed like sardines & was passing everybody with a shirt on!! Worst dispatchers on the planet! Pretty Kenny & Kevin are great instructors though!!!!!
Negative experience: I tried calling about their school program unfortunately it’s closed when I tried asking more questions about it they hung on me mid word very unprofessional, I was looking up to this company had good feelings about it now I wouldn’t recommend it the staff is so rude this is the second time I called and every time I called they were rude
Fantastic experience: They train u so well ,and the whole instructions were super helpful me .. staffs are so amazing, Beautiful people that will push you to achieve ur dream , Kandi, kenny, Carl , ray , Benji,Jennifer…everyone of them is so good. Best place to get your CDL.
Fantastic experience: When I decided to attend KLLM Academy I literally took a leap of faith. I quit my old job, canceled my apartment lease and left my family behind to pursue this new career. I honestly knew nothing about trucks, all I knew is that I would avoid them on the highway at all costs and hated them for being slow. But here at KLLM they taught me absolutely everything there is to be a great truck driver. The classes opened my eyes in depth about safety, pre-trip, planning and driving. Today I can say I have a new found respect for drivers and the stress they have to go through just to deliver goods we need everyday. Today i passed my last exam and I'm officially a CDL Truck Driver. And don't be discouraged when they say it's fast paced, it truly is, but for me who knew absolutely nothing and I was able to pass with flying colors, you can too. Don't wait another week to decide if this is right, take the leap of faith like I did and go for it! Thank You KLLM
Fantastic experience: Excellent school. 5 stars
Positive experience: Their doctor/chiropractor gave me a clearance form to take to my doctor because I’m on antidepressants and had to get cleared (understandable). I was lucky to get an appointment that day, and I drove over an hour back home, but my doctor would not give me a clearance letter because he didn’t want to be a liability or something. The nurse at the doctors office said I have to go get bloodwork done and send over my neurology records. This has never happened before as I’ve attempted several other driving academies that never required it. I was only at the school one day and I’m upset that I have to start over now. The instructors are very friendly though and genuinely helpful and I will be back once I get everything squared away with this medical clearance bs.
Fantastic experience: Do they train for livestock hauler to?
Fantastic experience: Great instructors and staff. They take the time to actually teach you AND how to actually fix the mistakes that you find yourself in. You can obtain the CLP and CDL with the Academy. There are no tricks here, and trucks don't break down every other day. There are good, honest people looking to help you. Single occupancy rooms on site with housekeeping. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. No one here is disrespectful, rude, or dismissive to you in any way. There's a wealth of knowledge in this building, absorb every bit of it.
Fantastic experience: Great instructors great motivation trust the process!! I did it-believe in yourself!!
Fantastic experience: The instructors here were great they actually want you do be safe and drive well..
Fantastic experience: I just got my Class-A CDL today I love the instructors here they are so amazing, they give you everything you need to succeed as long as you listen and pay close attention
Fantastic experience: Great school, The instructors all there want to see you succeed, as long as you ask for help when you need it, they are always willing to help. They had pretty good food 3 times a day all 7 days a week, and their dorm rooms for the guys were very clean. This was a great place for me to get my CDL and I would recommend it to anyone wanting their CDL. You may need to be willing to study sometimes, and to try your best, but as long as you do, you’ll have your CDL. Great place!
Fantastic experience: All these negative reviews are coming from people who don’t shut up and listen and learn! Yes this program is really fast paced, but IT CAN BE DONE! Just listen to your instructors, if you have questions ASK! Also on the range practice makes perfect, if you’re struggling call an instructor up to the truck they WILL help you! Big shoutout to my boys Jo Jo, The General, Kenny The Cracker (lol), Josh, Barry, Kevin, Mr. C and Tom for all the wisdom and advice for this experienced driver! To Kandi Brooks a big THANK YOU! You know how to run a show!
Fantastic experience: They good take care of there studying and driver fansy hotel good breakfast and dinner I’m talking about ffe and KLLM
Fantastic experience: Loving the experience
Fantastic experience: Best truck driving school
Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could. I understood the class was accelerated but I’ll rather be a safe driver than just a number to them. Over 20 students per class with limited trucks. The instructors talk to you with no respect. The director Kandi along with her father Kenny have picks and chooses on who will pass or not. One instructor told me, “He didn’t think I’ll pass and need to choose another career” cowboy is what they call him. I will never recommend anyone to this company. Oh and to cowboy, I have my CDL’s
Positive experience: Good school
Positive experience: Idk nothing about the place but I was wondering if you can get your Cdl at 19
Fantastic experience: All stuff members are amazing. All the Trainers I came across, are very passionate about their jobs and they treats students like family. 5 stars
Fantastic experience: Omg when i say this course is indeed accelerated. But u can learn it. U just have to be determined. All the instructors at tx location. Hands down they are great
Fantastic experience: Hands down the best instructors! From classroom to field. If you get sent home or don't pass, you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are really a driver.. You don't need cell phones in the classroom or on the driving range. DISTRACTION!! Put in the work reap the rewards. Be lazy, can't follow directions suffer the consequences.
Fantastic experience: So far my experience has been good. I'm moving over from another carrier. The accommodations where standard. Had decent meals. And the staff was friendly.was only here for two days though.
Negative experience: KLLM academy is the worst CDL school in DFW area. When you visit the first day they give you a picture perfect truck training school but the first day you enter the class the instructors are mean and full of threats. For example, You cannot look at your phone from 7am to 4pm for 6days a week. Then, after training starts they keep dropping students for silly reasons like asking too many questions, foreign accents, or your looks. They admit students then 50% will be dismissed the first or second week. The instructor don’t teach in details, they don’t let you practice but will be asked to backup and if hit the cone you’re dismissed that day. It’s a lot of tension and uncertainty for a person trying to learn a new skill. If you’re a foreigner with an accent, just know you will be dismissed coz they cannot communicate with you. I recommend TruckGod CDL training school to anyone who wants to get into the trucking industry, and have a CDL. Corey the owner is one of the best businessman and trainer. I was dismissed from KLLM last week and this week am learning everything In trucking in TruckGod. Comparison is like day and night.
Negative experience: Stand still outside to watch trucks for six hours with weather sixteen degrees with wind chill.
Negative experience: never heard of this but you have to live in the states the schools are located to be accepted into the cdl program
Negative experience: careful about coming to the Academy. The instructors don't like foreign students, they even tell you not to speak anything other than English. They usually send foreign students home. The only good things about the Academy are the rooms and meals. The academy accepts many students at one time and sends them home without reason sometimes. They don't have enough trucks to teach students in detail. The number of vehicles and the number of students doesn't go together.
Fantastic experience: I am grateful to have attended this academy. It November 11, 2021 and yesterday I passed my test to obtain my CDL. Training was intense but if you don’t give up on yourself and listen to the instructors you WILL SUCCEED! Stay focused and use your time wisely. They will provide food, shelter but you need to invest in yourself and learn the material and truck. You will succeed if you sacrifice your time and energy the three weeks you’ll be here. Prayer works and God is with you just believe in yourself! Thanks Tony, Kenny, Joe and Tom. They really care about us but you need to care first! God bless!
Fantastic experience: Honestly.. throughout all my life of not really fitting in. I can say that all staff and people coming to this school are amazing. From the CEO to the students. I just turned 21 and didn't know what to do with my life.. well making money with this company is a good start lol They are all pretty genuine and I would definitely give more stars because of Carl(one of the instructors), awesome guy and me and some other students agreed that he is not just an instructor he is our friend too. So God bless America and this corporation. I'm from Sinaloa, MX. Female still struggle with English but these people make you feel included in every single step of the way. I would recommend this school 100% no kidding. And they pay EVERYTHING!
Negative experience: Wasting time not worth it
Fantastic experience: Grate company to drive for
Positive experience: Let me begin by the meals.. great food but instructors are not patient and favor others students than you and also they think only about their paycheck not you getting your cdl because you will get dismissed regardless of your own efforts .. you should think about going to a trucking school that is serious about you getting your cdl .. if you are a foreign national don’t think about going there ..
Fantastic experience: Fantastic school. Come with zero experience and leave with a cdl and a job. They feed, house, and provide everything you will need to succeed. Over 150yrs of driving experience through the staff. Its an accelerated program so come ready to study and do all the homework. If you dont care nether will they, if you put further the effort to try they will give you everything to succeed. Company feels like a family. Can't say enough great things about my experience here.
Fantastic experience: The Greatest cdl academy i ever seen in texas, greate instructors period!!!!
Negative experience: This place they are unrealistic very speed process
Fantastic experience: One of the best schools. All stuff are awesome and knows what they doing. Just follow them and you'll be fine. Jim is the greatest instructor, Ray, Carl, Kevin, Greg, Kenny, Joe, Chris. All of them are nice. Good luck to you all.
Positive experience: Great school I got my cdl thanks KLLM -FFE
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this acadamy. I did not know as a CDL holder how much I didn't know until I started at KLLM. The process is easy, just do as your told, keep your head down, follow instructions, and try, this will get you your CDL. All the trainers want you to be successful, and will give you plenty of time to practice. Some of the trainers I worked with was Craig, Chris, PK, Joseph and Rambo. My experience was great and now I'm getting ready to go out with my trainer. Top notch academy, 2nd to none.
Negative experience: Their trainers are there for the paychecks not to actually teach you anything. You're better off going to Prime Inc, Schneider, or Roadmaster/Werner.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing. They have the training my down to a science.
Fantastic experience: Good meals provided at no cost, well appointed classrooms and an on-site dormitory.
Fantastic experience: Best school in the world would highly recommend the staff is incredible
Negative experience: A company/school should train student at all levels either interstate or intrastate
Negative experience: Horrible
Fantastic experience: Great school
Positive experience: Good trainers, well organized beat place to start a career.
Fantastic experience: Great, great bunch of people. Everybody working together with you to achieve your goal.
Fantastic experience: The best CDL driving academy ever
Negative experience: They provide good 3 meals a day and a nice hotel but I suggest people to get their CDL at the dmv theu almeida.. the trucks are parked outside to rent for about 300 bucks and the guy will train u to pass the road test. Don’t waste your time at kllm trucking because the trainers only choose the people that they like.. the trainers have no patience and don’t waste 7,000 and a year commitment... get your CDL at the dmv and go with raider express for a refresher and pay u for training
Fantastic experience: Don't even think about going somewhere else for your CDL. You want the best. It's right here.
Fantastic experience: Love this place they took the time to give me training and feed me 3 times a day..... I want to thank all the instructors who helped me through and I now hold my. Class A CD. I reco this program to anyone trying to get there CDL this company goes above and beymm
Fantastic experience: As someone who had never even been in a big truck, I joined the program at KLLM. 3 weeks later, I am licensed with my Class A CDL and am on the road to a major life change. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. I encourage you to go ahead and take the leap if you’re still on the fence. The instructors are AMAZING and really encouraging. They feed you 3 times a day. They board you for the entire time. There is ZERO out of pocket expense. If you’re committed, you will succeed. You won’t find a better place to train.
Positive experience: I was not able to accomplish my goal! They play favoritism and it cost me. A person that did not pass her road test the first time was given extra time in the truck I was suppose to be learning and practicing in. That was totally not fair to me and my other truck mates. The school was ok with that. Everyone in my truck and it was 3-4 of us did not pass the test the first time had to go back and take the test.
Fantastic experience: This is from what I can tell, hands down the finest CDL school in Texas. Plenty of trucks to drive in and plenty of instructors to make sure you are being taught properly. I just got my CDL today and I am thankful for the instructors who will do all they can to make sure you pass if they see you are doing your part to learn and get better. Even if I had failed I would give this school 5 stars
Negative experience: So this place knows what thar doing win it comes to the book part and the liveing and food is good and all the people are cool and nice but if you cant figer out how to shift a truck by books alone it not worth it. I was thar for and trainer I got was talking to the people behind thin on giveing advice to me and making sher I was doing the right thing and you figering this out on Dallas rodes with construction and traffic so it will make you a bit uneasy if you cant get it in gear but the worst thing is the fact that win I confronted him about it next day I was kicking out only good this is that where nice and voce the contract so if you liveing on street it's worth going but if you have the opportunity to go to a school you pay for do that instead cus after I got kicked out I fond a school that worked with me 1on1 for 4 months almost to lern what I was doing and got my license
Fantastic experience: The school treated me like I was family,
Negative experience: Great training Academy! But beware
Fantastic experience: I went here to get my cdl and they have gone above and beyond. They feed you, give you a place to stay and place you with experiences trainers who have had many years on the road. You have to put in the work though, its not easy! Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Being a truck driver is always something i wanted to do. My dad is a truck driver. I got my permit and called my dad for help thinking he can teach me everything about the industry. He was no help and not encouraging at all....THEN I FOUND KLLM. And they helped me. I got my CDL in 3 weeks. The staff is awesome. The food is delicious. The building is very clean. If you want to get your cdl this is the best place to go. You will not regret it. I promise. Thanks to the lead instructor KANDI, and the instructors DON, JOSEPH, KENNY, JIM, KEVIN, STEVE,CRAIG, RAY and CARL.
Fantastic experience: Very thorough, great instructors treat you like family will have you laughing at the same time while teaching classes. If you pay close attention to what they are teaching you then you will have it easier and above all work as a team with classmates makes it go by faster. Top of the line academy.
Negative experience: They only gave me one try at my air brake test that I PERFORMED. Everyone else got two. The staff was great all around. Just the tester by the name of Carl whom rubbed me wrong. Wouldn't give me a second chance cause he was ready to go home. Everyone deserves a second chance. He had his picks. We'll see if DMV picks him after I report him. Passed up a dedicated worker. I really had high hopes for this company. #Kandi Land
Negative experience: They are racist! They don’t Have wall organized scheduled, they don’t look all students by the same eye. Speacially the inistructer have a lot of problem on new students.
Negative experience: GET RID OF AMANDA JOHNSON OVER THE TYSON . !
Fantastic experience: They have very good instructor
Fantastic experience: This school is excellent, great people great instructors, but don't think it will be a walk in the park, you need to do your studies, your practice and you need to be willing to learn. Meals and rooms are provided, training pay is one of the best around, keep in mind time at the academy is unpaid, so bring a little cash with ya if you need things from the walmart, excellent program and so far itsi changing my life!!
Fantastic experience: I love the school the trainers are awesome and very helpful.
Fantastic experience: Highly Recommend! Such an amazing experience, the best CDL school out there. I love everything here the way they treat everyone, the academy, instructors, staff, food, dorm. For me the most important thing was/is how they treat me and everyone else, I like everyone out here they are nice and helpful. Now proudly a professional truck driver for KLLM/FFE company, It was my best decision.
Positive experience: Great instructors, good facilities. food is good except on Sunday. They want you to pass and will teach you everything you need to know to get started.
Negative experience: instructor Steve was actually falling asleep while we were driving. I got to an intersection and was like right or left. I look over to see he's sleeping. I yell right or left. still asleep. I had to slam on the brakes hard to wake him up. He fell asleep often. And as a result me and the students waiting their turn missed out on valuable information.
Fantastic experience: Great school. After all my research i attended here and was a great experience. Looking fwd to a wonderful career at KLLM
Fantastic experience: Best school to learn nice people great teachers mr Jim one of the best if not the best real class act
Fantastic experience: Loved this place, such an amazing experience. The Instructors and staff members are the best they seem to love what they do. The school is fairly new they provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner shuttle from hotel to the academy. Special thanks to... MR. GARY MR. JIM MR. KENNY MR. RAY (the instructor) MS. ALICIA MR. KARL LOVE YOU GUYS FROM RODNESHA aka CALI :) You guys ROCK you guys helped me out so much I JUST LOVE YOU GUYS ACADEMY, so thankful i chose this school.
Fantastic experience: This is good place to get cdl but I wanna to inform Ethiopian and somalian be careful with mexican teacher who work the student with shifting he don't like you he start to complain you the language first if he don't get you that then shifting because he will not explain you rpm and speed that you need to shift example when you need to downshift 7 to 6 rmp must be 10 otherwise you can't he didn't help your mistake then complain the office then you go home but the other teachers so cool I like this please but that guy kick me out
Negative experience: Jeam not good
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome, Mark the VP is a very nice and down to earth man, all the instructors are very, very patient and understanding, they always have time to answer any questions and help. The food that they provide is really good, they all make you feel welcome really happy I made the decision to come here to KLLM. I highly recommend anyone thinking about coming here, to come on.
Fantastic experience: My Fiancé has attended this school this past month they bused him from San Antonio. From his experience this company provides thorough hands on training, trainer's are patient with students and are supportive. They give you your own private dorm room and bathroom, as well as giving you 3 home cooked meals a day! Very smooth onboarding process and the staff that works here genuinely care about student's. So glad he has chosen this company to work for and train with!! Thank you for providing him with a comfortable atmosphere and training environment while being away from home!
Negative experience: bad
Fantastic experience: Great instructors. They really want you to become truck drivers.
Fantastic experience: Heard nothing but good thing's about this company...just did my app a few day's ago....can't wait too start
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn to become a KLLM/FFE driver and get you class A CDL license at no out-of-pocket cost if you agree to their terms of employment. Must be 21 years of older with a current drivers license and meet a few other qualifications.
Fantastic experience: My husband attended this school 6 months ago and now he is a lease operator. I will be attending this school in 4 months. From my husband's experience, I can tell you that this is one of the best truck driving schools to attend. They take care of lodging and meals and those are big expenses.
Fantastic experience: Awesome just awesome
Positive experience: Awesome school and amazing staff. Two more weeks and I'm on the road.
Positive experience: Heading to this school at the end of this month, everyone I have talked to gives it a good rating
Negative experience: Haven't enrolled, just looking for now!
Fantastic experience: Its a wonderful place to go especially if you never had a cdl and never driven a manual before. The instructors and the management help you even when they see you a little behind and improving they give you a chance before getting out there on your own. I love this place i am glad that i chose to come here and learn. Before i came i did not know how to drive a manual and a truck but i really learned alot. I thank mark rhea, david bilbo, tom, sarge, deb, alicia, don, steve, david, gary, dottie, even jasmine and my recruiter cindy for helping me retreieve an awesome learning experience at this school. I will definitely tell people about this.
Fantastic experience: No out of pocket up front. 1 year working for them and school is free. You have to study and work hard for 10 weeks before you are given the keys to a truck. The "gourmet" food in cafeteria is decent. It's best when it's Mexican or other southern foods. During 3 week school on Sunday there is a QT 30 min walk if brunch was unsatisfying.
Fantastic experience: I'm really trying to get in this school
