Fantastic experience: We had an awesome experience taking the driving test at your school. The instructor was patient and clear with directions and put my daughter at ease while she was taking the test, making the experience less stressful for her.

Fantastic experience: My son had Jonathan Mattia for his Behind the Wheel drives and he was wonderful! My son can be shy and quiet at times but Jon made him feel confident and outgoing, gave great driving feedback, and made driving a great experience! We will be back when our youngest son starts the process, thanks so much, Jon!

Positive experience: Overall, my son had a very positive experience with Official Driving School. Taking the lessons online worked very well. My son did most of his drives with Jonathan Mattia who was great for him. Very relaxed and assuring. My only suggestion would be to make the process of scheduling in car drives a bit easier. You are only able to schedule 3 of the 6 drives at a time, so it's hard to plan. My son was trying to get in all his drives before school started mid-August, so I was a bit stressed out checking the website over and over to see if new drives had been posted (my only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). Also once one of his drives was cancelled the night before by the instructor. However, Mr. Matia went out of his way to make sure that my son was able to finish his drives, and I really appreciate that. We had another small problem when I requested the certificate of completion, and the school said my son missed one of the zoom classes. They were able to pull the footage though and confirm that he did actually attend. I definitely plan to continue to use the school for segment 2 and for my other children when the time comes.

Negative experience: Bad experience. The lady in the reception was kind but the instructor had no patience. He made me panic. I requested a vehicle to take the test and they gave a decade old Ford Focus. I had to look for the mirror controls in the old Ford because each vehicle has different positioning of buttons and that seems to have pissed the instructor. Avoid this location or pray to get a better instructor

Our son really bonded with his instructor, Jon Mattia, who helped boost his confidence behind the wheel and made each lesson educational and fun. After the final driving session, our son told us Jon was "the coolest guy" he's ever met! Additionally, the Zoom lessons were done well, and Ms. Duncan did a great job keeping the kids' attention. We highly recommend Official Driving School for anyone looking for a supportive and skilled driving instructor or classroom environment.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just finished her 6 drives and is about to finish Segment 1 online. She has had a great experience with her online classes and during all her drives. She did most of her drives with Jon. He was a great instructor for her to learn from and was available early in the mornings. I would absolutely recommend official driving school and drives with Jon.

Negative experience: Just finished my classroom part of segment one and continuing to do more drives for a permit. Ms. Duncan as a teacher in the classroom is fine but as a driving coach is not. She grabbed the wheel from me in a roundabout and has been slightly rude to me throughout my time there. After my one driver with her, she said I needed to get my prescription checked (got it checked in Jan of 2024) and asked, "are you a slow learner in school?". Very unprofessional and disrespectful the whole time I've worked with her. On the other hand, my other driving coach was very nice and understanding, but was 20 minutes late to every drive. All of the information for scheduling drives and pickup times was unclear, and when calling the driving center, the receptionist was short and didn't know anything. I would not recommend going to Official Driving School for getting a license.

Negative experience: We payed a lot of money to be told they don't have spots to schedule the actual driving. If you can't provide the service don't take my money.

Fantastic experience: The zoom classes are very informative and engaging! My instructor is Ms. Duncan and shes super nice. For my first drive I had an instructor from a different location because there aren't a lot at this location. However, all of the instructors I have are amazing and teach me patience and great skills on and off the road. I had Mr. Orlando, Mrs. Jenny, and Ms. Duncan, all of whom were absolutley amazing and taught me everything I need to know. They were at ease and never once made me feel timid, shy, or even scared. All in all, 10/10 experience and I definatley recommend this school to anyone interested in driving .

Negative experience: Worst place to take a driving test, this morning my sister went to take her test and the lady there was asking for an ID? Then she failed my sister right away because of parking? Really? Parking!!!? That's not even driving I do not say is not important but really and then this lady had another guy waiting to do the test so she knew she was going to fail her? This is a waste of money! And she made my sister feel really sad since she had been practicing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE THEY WANT YOU TO PAY TWICE!!!

Negative experience: Terrible place, never go there. The people is rude and never provide the clear rules. My wife fail not because she didn’t something wrong is because the movements during parking was more than 5 times however this instruction never was given. Unsatisfactory service!!

Negative experience: Having a friendly, engaged instructor on the road test goes a long way to ensure comfort with new drivers. Similarly, having an instructor who violently scribbles on his paper to mark you down or doesn't give any feedback as to whether your verbal responses to questions are correct can easily make one feel ill at ease. One plus was that we were greeted by a kind woman for check in.

Fantastic experience: Jenny was my instructor and she is terrific and helped me overcame my anxiety to highway driving. She will teach you all necessary skills, make you a good driver. I had my 6 hours classes with her and she turned me into a patient and confident driver.

Negative experience: Instructors clearly don't understand right-of-way and obviously can't teach it to the students either. If they don't understand it, please teach instructors how to drive before trying to instruct young drivers.

Negative experience: Terrible experience! They didn’t even take my daughter out on the road. She didn’t do great with parking and it was an automatic fail. I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

Fantastic experience: I have had several driving instructors and I appreciate the role each one played to orient me in this new environment, but my experience with Andis Leka, of Official Driving School in Rochester Hills, MI outperforms them in that he really grilled and took me to areas of difficulty. Additionally, he made reversing and parallel parking a lot easier through the use of various techniques. That really made what I thought was the most difficult part easy. He not only explained but let me do that physically and demonstrated. Professionalism is highly practised at Official Driving School. I recommend Official Driving School as a very good place to take driving lessons from where you find instructors that prepare you effectively. I am very grateful to this school for the empowerment.

Fantastic experience: My driver was Ms.Jenny, and I really loved her after my first lesson I made sure to have her for the rest cause she was really patient and taught me very well and calm. She also payed attention to me, one driver for one of my other drives was on her phone and barely said a thing to me but had a full on talk with my partner so I had no idea if I was doing something right or something wrong. Really glad I had Jenny for all 5 of my drives.

Negative experience: Do not use this location. They misconstrue the rules and regulations regarding appointment time to collect more money from you. The blonde instructor in particular is terrible regarding customer satisfaction. We were six minutes late for our appointment time and she refused to conduct the driving test. she also argued with both my son and myself regarding why she was refusing and.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took segment 1 and the experience was above what we expected. My daughter is 15 and never had driving lessons. She was initially nervous, but her instructor Andis was awesome. Andis was my daughter’s driving instructor and he made sure that my daughter learned the skills needed to be a safe and competent driver on the road. Andis is awesome and I highly recommend him over the other driving instructors. We had one experience with another instructor and the experience was just not the same so we made sure that my daughter had all of her, “behind the wheel drives” with Andis.

Fantastic experience: My second child just got her permit today. This driving school was way better, more organized, and MUCH KINDER than another school in the area we used for our first kiddo 3 years ago. Specifically, her driving instructor Andis Leka was incredible. We lucked out getting him for her first drive and then we requested him for all her drives. She actually enjoyed her driving lessons and felt so comfortable and learned a lot. Great experience and will be coming back in a couple years for the third kid :)

Negative experience: My daughter completed Segments 1 and 2 at the Royal Oak location; we scheduled her for her road test this morning at Rochester Hills. She was assigned to Steve, who was very curt and rude, insulted my daughter’s driving and told her he wouldn’t complete the test after telling her to drive a very challenging route and then failing her. She was bawling all day; my husband couldn’t believe Steve’s horrible demeanor. Seems we’re not the only ones who feel this way. Why he still has a job is a mystery to me. We will not be back for our younger child.

Only issue was the Test administrator called me stupid and shamed me in front of everyone when I had difficulty reading/understanding the test. Great experience though besides the one test administrator, they’re all super helpful there

Fantastic experience: Lindsay is amazing. I would recommend her to anyone, every day of the week! Lindsay reduced my sons anxiety about driving and helped him to gain the confidence he needed. She is encouraging and nonjudgmental, she is 100% amazing!!!! Please ask for Lindsay when you are setting up drive time. You won't be disappointed! Thank you Lindsay for everything!!!

Negative experience: Last week I paid 4-hour package on Wednesday 07/27, and the lady on the phone said I would get contacted by 8/5. Then on 8/5 I called again they said they don't provide private class in the location I selected anymore (last week they said they do provide classes there!!! so they have me wait for nothing) , and ask me to fill another form in another location, said I NEED to wait ANOTHER week till 8/12 to get contacted. I said I have waited for 10 days, why need to wait another 7 days, the person said that is how they operate. Just get a refund if I don't like it. I cannot believe what I heard. Maybe they have too many students so they just want to turn people away. Never had experience like this before, very upset. I will ask for a refund.

Positive experience: Sarah D. I took a class with Dave and he was very helpful and went over the information efficiently! I have had a great experience with official driving school, except for some backups with being answered for calls about makeups or questions, but that was during the peak pandemic and I don't hold it against them. I've had a great experience and hope the rest of my time with official driving does well :) 6/10

Negative experience: I had a really poor experience here, it was very obvious from his attitude that the instructor Steve Glodich simply did not want to be there during this entire road test. This is a really really important thing for a lot of people he doesn’t take his job very seriously. He did not do anything to try to make the driver more comfortable or relax the driver instead was very short and rude which just made the driver more and more nervous. Also when the driver was having difficulties he would start muttering things under his mouth like “oh my god” over and over again which just made the driver more uncomfortable and more nervous. After hearing the driver before me complain about him it was clear that he was the issue and should not be allowed to be giving road tests.

Negative experience: I try to call and ask couple questions but they don’t like answering your questions so thanks. won’t waste any time and money with them

Positive experience: My daughter scheduled her driving test more than a month in advance, she needed to change the time later on so she had to cancel and reschedule a month before the testing but she was told she lost the payment for the first schedule and she had to pay again. This is just unbelievable, it was not changed on a short notice and still charged the whole amount again. So disappointed.

Fantastic experience: In the beginning I loved my online meetings cause I got to learn things that I didn’t even know and I loved it. Next I got to hit the road meeting I started my drives and it was an amazing experience to actually be in the driver seat and learn how to drive a real car. Finally when I had to do the written test I felt so proud of my self that I passed it was honesty an amazing feeling and I hope that everyone else who registers here has the same experience as me I love it hear.

This gave him confidence to continue driving as well as excitement to continue with the class. I had to reach out due to my work schedule and available drive times, and everyone was incredibly accommodating. I would highly recommend official driving school.
