Negative experience: I didn’t attend this school and I’m concerned for the people that do. Paulina Gawrysiuk CONTACTED ME in regards to an application for employment. Interviewed with her and HR and was given a follow up date to visit the Chicago office on archer and meet further. I confirmed the day and time and when I arrived NOBODY WAS THERE. I called, text and emailed. Even called the school and was told that she was not in even thought I know that she was. Very unprofessional and really disgusting to waste someone’s time. To this day I still have not heard back with an explanation of why they had me show up to a closed office. Not even the slightest regard for my time. I cannot imagine this school is any bit of honest just based on that simple interaction if that is who is in charge. I would avoid this place at all costs if I were you and the many one star reviews validate that for me. How sad.

Kate and Agata are patient and will help you with any issues that you may have My instructors Alicia, Mac, Nebojsa, and Joe are very knowledgeable of their craft and will go above and beyond to make sure that you are fully prepared for tasks at hand. Everyone is nice and they make you feel like you’ve known the staff forever even on your first day! The instructor Ms. Alicia is the best she’s going to teach you the right information to get you your license in less than 8 weeks. Also the other instructors for skills and road. I’m glad I chose this school and now I’m officially a Class A CDL truck driver as soon as I start my new job

Fantastic experience: Blue Horizon is a great school to get your CDL from, they care about their students that commit themselves to the course by making sure that students understand the material to be successful in getting their license. Thanks to Jeff for starting students off with a bang for the first week into passing the permit test, he gives a lot of pointers outside of the book that assist with passing and getting ready for pre-trip. Ms. Alicia, a great pre-trip instructor, that is going to give her all in making sure students are ready to pass Pre-Trip inspection, as long as students show up and study, because she is make sure students have all of the information and practice they need to get their CDL. Kate and Agata are great in making sure students needs are met, like with scheduling, job placement, and testing, they don’t slack in that department! The instructors on the yard does a great job as well in getting students prepared for the skills and road test. The entire Blue Horizon Staff, with the new instructors are great and they are going to push students in the direction they need to be professional drivers because they care about each student that comes into Blue Horizon.

Fantastic experience: Best School, Best Teachers, Best classmates. Y’all need to give those instructors especially Mrs. Alicia and Scott a raise! Mrs. Alicia helps everyone so much feels like she want’s the CDL more than the student. I take a while to learn things and they’ve made it easier. God bless this company and if you’re trying to get your CDL there is no better place but here.

Fantastic experience: The instruction and methodology was good. I understood the materials and skills that I was required to learn. This allowed me to pass my road test on the first attempt. I was able to fully utilize all available resources and any available time that I had to study and practice at my pace. I found the administrative and training staff pleasant and very accommodating. The facilities for both classroom, yard and road training were clean, easy to get to and we’ll maintained.

Negative experience: IN 30 DAYS THEY WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR LIFE THEY WILL RUIN IT!!!!! Complete waste of time. One person says one thing the next person contradicts it. They don’t work around your schedule they work around theirs. Can’t keep instructors. Constantly changing! All they care about is MONEY! The worst day of my life was signing up with you guys.

Fantastic experience: My name is Mourad, I was blessed to choose Blue Horizon driving school to get my CDL. The Instructors are all very friendly and knowledgeable. It is so sad that I don’t remember all their names (I am so sorry), I give my shout-outs to all of them. Especially Ms. Alicia. I am driving now for a big company and I still use what she taught me on a daily basis. Follow her instructions and you will pass the pre-trip inspection (guaranteed). Mr. Scot (Mr.Pythagoras) as I think of him.When it comes to skills (backing, parking and shifting) I can’t think of anyone Better.He has a delightful way of explaining how and why. Using geometry and reason it is impossible not to understand and not to learn. Very Savvy. Thank you Blue Horizon for providing a positive environment all along my learning experience. Fantastic experience: I attended Blue Horizon with the WIOA grant. I have nothing but good things to say about the instructors. Scott helped me build my road confidence. Mac and José developed my backing and parking skills, and the star of the show Miss Alicia helped drive all the information to pass the test with confidence. Show up put the work in and you’ll be outta there with your CDL. I was a full time student for 6 weeks, so the 4 weeks wasn’t realistic but it takes time to memorize everything and get the driving hours needed to take the test. Would recommend to a friend, just make sure to dress for the weather.

Fantastic experience: Good school. Good instructors, each one has own different approach, but in combination you get great knowledge. Pretty flexible, you can select full days or part time days to fit different schedule. Enough learning materials and equipment, but you have to strive for knowledge. If you ask you will get answers. Instructors are very knowledgeable. Alicia was very helpful and supportive, Big thanks to everyone that I had chance to learn from, pass my exam after first try! Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Currently halfway through my cdl schooling and it’s been a good experience thus far. The instructors do a great job to set you up for your permit test pre trip and skill test. Every week I see students successfully receive their cdl license and certificate through this school, which is great motivation and assertion that I am in the right place. The wonderful front desk lady’s were very helpful from the very first time I walked in here to enroll and answered all the questions I had, my main concern when enrolling was my unpredictable schedule but luckily they are very flexible and work to set you up with a schedule that works for you Thanks blue horizon

Ágata helps in all the ways she can she sets up days where they bring in recruiters so you can land a job once you obtain your license. Instructors are great Alicia knows exactly what you need to learn to obtain your license, Scott takes you out on the road and talks to you before you go out to make you feel comfortable, Mac gets you caught up with your skills. They also have some weekend hours of driving if your schedule doesn't work M-F. Great job at getting student in and out with your license as long as your dedicated to getting your license!!

Fantastic experience: This school gives you all of the information necessary to pass pre-trip, skills, and Road test. Alicia whom is both the classroom instructor and one of the yard instructors is on point with everything. The ladies in the office are good with scheduling just make sure you schedule accordingly. DO NOT MISS any classrooms, or yard time and you can be in and out in 6 weeks with your certification. Theres 3 other instructors for the yard who are pretty decent at showing you what you need to know. This school is definately recommended.

Fantastic experience: I attended this driving school about 10 years ago or so. I had lots of driving experience before hand as a spotter and driving hotshot flatbed for a while, but overall, I found the school to be very helpful and was also patient with me when my mother passed away and I had to miss quite a bit, at the time I attended, the prices were fair, and the drive testing was on site, I was the only student of my class on the day of testing that passed the first go, like most things in life, you get out of it what you put in.. you have to put in the work.. good luck. And thank you blue horizon..

Negative experience: If you don’t want to get your license and And have the money to pay to waste your time this is the right place. After you pay the full amount they don’t care about you. They’ll said next week you are taking your pre-trip text and the following they tell you the same thing. I got tired of waiting to take the test, they don’t call when classes are canceled, wasted my hour in the yard, you pay them an hour to drive and you get half, if you are late you have to payment the whole hour even if you don’t go.

Positive experience: My experience with Blue Horizon was overall great. There were some things that could’ve been better, but there isn’t too much to complain about. Pros: They are really flexible with your attendance for pre-trip classes & yard training time. You can basically do the course at your own pace so “graduation” time all depends on your schedule & how committed you are. The front desk lady, Kate is a pleasure to work with. She will do her best in every situation to accommodate you & I just really enjoyed her presence. She is knowledgeable & helpful. The permit mock tests they give are very similar to the state permit tests, I think that’s really important because they aren’t setting you up to fail. The instructors are all very educated & know what they’re doing - they are all VERY different from one another so it all depends on your learning preference. I would highly recommend Alicia for pre-trip training sessions because she goes into detail and it’s super helpful. I didn’t do pre-trip with the other instructors so I can’t judge on that. The cost of the school (if you’re paying out of pocket) isn’t too bad, but however be aware that if you don’t pass your state exam (pre-trip, skills, & road) you are charged $100 by the state each time and you’re required to book at least one hour of additional training each time you fail - which is $80 for each hour - this can cause the cost of the program to exceed their initial cost of $2690. Cons: I’m honestly not a fan of the owner. He isn’t that personable and he doesn’t have that great of a system of how he runs his business. The level of professionalism he had for me personally could have been MUCH better - but that was just my personal experience with him. In the contract you sign with the school, it does state that you get 20 hours of yard time training & 20 hours on the road training however I don’t think I know anyone who actually had 20 hours of drive time so that part is not accurate. But on the bright side if there is something specific you’d like to train on when you’re on the yard, the instructors will accommodate you and train you. I had an instructor on a weekend shift right before my test day that literally fell asleep during the 3 hours I was scheduled for. I didn’t appreciate this because every hour is $80 out of pocket & I felt unsafe and cheated out of my money. I was left on the yard alone while he ran to McDonald’s to eat. When it came time to drive on the road, he was still asleep and it could’ve been a really dangerous situation had I not known what I was doing. But, he did teach me how to master the skills exercise so that’s one good thing there. Highly recommend Alicia & Scott - you cant go wrong with either one. Huge thank you to Alicia (worked with her the most) for being such a great instructor. You are awesome at what you do & I'm thankful to have been taught by you!

Negative experience: This school rushed me into the program just to get paid immediately after I received my voucher for free classes. I tried to tell them that they issued those vouchers randomly and I was not prepared to start classes, they forced me to start any way their very money hungry.

Negative experience: When you get there the pretrip inspection is fine But the problem is in the yard So there is an old I mean very old guy super moody and quite frankly bad There trucks are super old And there is no organization or cooperation between the two yard instructors So you could for example train on a truck and take the test in the other one Because the instructors don’t talk to each other Thats why they had to bring a lady instructor So don’t go there there is like a very good school down on archer much more better than that one
