Fantastic experience: I took a test here at the end of last summer. Anna was my instructor and her son who was training to be one rode with us as well. I unfortunately was not prepared enough to pass. They treated me with so much kindness despite my mistakes. I started crying afterwards and they gave me tissues and were very pleasant to me. My previous test before this one I had a nasty lady who was very rude and aggressive towards me from the get go so I was a little shaken up about taking it again. I’m glad I chose to take it here because it gives me a calmer mind about trying again this summer.

Negative experience: Byron was very very rude to me I do not recommend him as I passed the test all he could do after was sit there and tell me I’m not mentally in the game over a couple mistakes witch we all make and after I told him I was nervous he said no your not … like how rude and if I wasn’t mentally in the game I shouldn’t of got my license. I am a 24 year old adult whos always been super anxious about driving, but Byron and his wife, Anna, helped ease my anxiety and lead me on the right path to achieving my goal of getting my license. I took private lessons with Byron and then my actual test with Anna and let me just say how kind and gentle Anna is! Negative experience: My original review was removed for some reason. Byron is not a nice man. I passed my test, but he was so rude afterwards. He criticized me for being overly cautious and for going 1 mph over the speed limit on the expressway when he had me get in the left lane. He wasn’t wrong in all of his criticisms but he was extremely harsh. There was no reason to be as mean as he was. He really seemed to enjoy making me feel awful. I was already anxious and embarrassed enough about my mistakes, I did not need that. I should be excited and happy about getting my license but I can’t stop thinking about everything I did wrong. If you’re a sensitive or anxious person I wouldn’t recommend testing with Byron.

We all should be sensitive to some degree, and anxiety is something almost every new driver has. The fact that you consider yourself a sensitive and anxious person, and were able to successfully pass your test with our examiners sounds like we are actually a good option for someone similar to yourself. Byron is one of the most experienced examiners in the state. His clients success rate is equally as impressive. He will not want to hear that one of his drivers had this experience, but we know that he will listen and continue to provide some of the safest drivers on our roads. Negative experience: Poor communication never answer the phone I actually went to the office in the Ferries Wheel building and was told they do have an office there but I couldn’t got to it so I was basically denied to take my drivers test.
Jay, we are extremely busy and trying to service everyone as quickly as we can. I am so sorry you didn't get what you wanted when you wanted it. The good news is, there are many other testing organizations you can go to. It's interesting your choice of words. We "denied" you. Isn't it hard to deny someone something when you didn't have any interaction with them? Long live patience, understanding and free speech to be able to put a 1 star review for a business even though they never serviced you.

Negative experience: They are very inconsiderate they won't take your phone call they take your money and they won't give you a road test for months and months afterwards I want my money back so I can go someplace else is no good
Sorry things didn't work out for you. Just to clarify, we didn't take your money because you chose to make the payment online before you were actually scheduled for an appointment. Also, we had a back log of 500 clients from being shutdown for 3 months and we were processing clients as quickly as we could in the order in which the request for service was received. Finally, we refunded your money because you didn't confirm your appointment with us. We don't keep anyone's money if we don't provide service to them. The entire situation was due to circumstances beyond our control. A 1 star rating is unwarranted because we never even provided service for you during a pandemic that has changed everyone's world.
Fantastic experience: I would recommend this business for getting your road test. Bryan was very professional and polite. He explained everything that was going to happen and what needed to be done. He made sure you knew what was expected. After the road test he went over something's to keep in mind. I passed so I'm happy with that and with Major Driving School.

Negative experience: Bryon was 15 mins late to my scheduled appt! To busy texting as we were doing road test And you would think instructor would wear their seat belt!!!! Glad i never have to do this again and if i do it def wont be with this company!

Fantastic experience: I took my road test with Byron recently. I am very happy with my experience. The car they provide is also very easy to use if needed and the price is fair. The instructions are clear and simple, and often repeated so you know what is asked of you. Byron is very experienced and did a wonderful job of explaining my mistakes and how I can fix them. Fantastic experience: I had several lessons with Larry Ragnone and I was tested by Anna Major. Larry is a very experienced kind, honest and competent instructor who can make learning to drive a breeze for even the most skiddish of drivers such as myself. Anna is also a very kind and honest teacher who couldn't have been more sweet. She along with Larry are very patient and I did not run into a single problem with this school. If you want to learn the right way to drive GO WITH MAJOR DRIVING SCHOOL!!! you won't regret it.

Negative experience: Classroom and driving practice segments were fantastic with Dennis (?). Driving test was another story. In my opinion I am very disappointed in our experience with Anna. Our first encounter she came off as very "high strung" as we were simply practicing parking waiting for our turn (there was no one at the test site) when she pulled up and was incessantly honking at us and waving her arms as if there were some sort of emergency. She stormed out of the car not even allowing us time to move yelling "get away from the course"! There were no signs or prior instructions that this was against the rules. The road test started off great, my daughter is a really good SAFE driver. It quickly turned bad at the very end. While turning left off of an exit ramp, the test administrator screamed "stop" and literally grabbed her wheel. She apparently saw a danger that neither I nor my daughter saw. Her assessment in turn resulted in a reaction from the TESTER that put us in even greater danger! I know that the response to this review will be that my daughter was driving unsafe, which just is not the case. I will concede that there was POTENTIAL for danger and could have been used as a discussion at the end of the test but her reaction and result was uncalled for. I have to wonder if this sort of overreaction happens frequently as I have not seen any reviews on this person. It is interesting that there are additional fees that are charged for a retest. We will not be going back to this school and will pass the word along about our experience.
Christy, I certainly hope everyone passes. You are absolutely correct. Your daughter did something that was unsafe. Your daughter was getting off the eastbound I-69 exit ramp at Bristol Rd. She stopped at the stop sign. On eastbound Bristol road under the I-69 overpass, there was a car getting onto the eastbound I-69 ramp with several cars behind it. The next car did not get on the entrance ramp and continued eastbound on Bristol toward your car. Your daughter had looked left, then right and then started to go. She failed to look left again and that eastbound car was coming at approximately 45 miles per hour. I told her to stop because the car was getting closer and your daughter didn’t stop. I took the wheel to make sure your daughter didn’t do something even more unsafe. Your daughter did fail because of her unsafe action. I am sorry she failed, but I made a decision for our safety and the safety of other drivers. Anna, Road Test Examiner of 14 years. We sincerely hope everyone passes. Anna has been doing road tests for 14 years. She is an expert in her field and a professional road test examiner. She has conducted over 5,000 road tests. According to the Secretary of State, her testing and failure rates are consistent with the Michigan State average. We wish you and your daughter success and safety. Negative experience: Honostly the owner/instructer wasnt a bad guy but when there are 3 people trying to rear end me and i go 5 miles over i get marked down. However i will give him this that some guy almost hit me when i was turning on the intersection into the exit when i couldnt see in front of the 100 feet tall semi in front of me. The only reason I was too slow to merge onto the highway was because of that darn truck. I suggest that if you are going to do the test dont do it during lunch rush hour traffic. Mr Byron you are a good person but this is michigan and they are the worst drivers sorry i have to avoid playing bumper cars with the idiots behind me. A good driver is determined with how he deals with other people on the road because if noone if following the lines how are you supposed to follow them. I spotted out like 10 people not using their blinker....
Andrew, I hope everyone passes the road test. As you admitted, you were going 5 over the speed limit. That happened more than once. According to the Secretary of State, Driving Skills Test Study Guide, page 12, if you go 4 over the speed limit more than one time, you don't pass. I wish you the best. Negative experience: The instructor was rude. Had no personality, except a gruff persona. Barked orders. Left my grandmother waiting for 25 minutes in the cold. NOT PROFESSIONAL.
We certainly hope everything goes well for our clients. On March 3rd, the day before you came and took your test and passed, we did send you an email explaining that the test would take place in a parking lot. There were several open businesses nearby about 1 minute away. Byron Major.
Negative experience: This man is a rip off failed my daughter twice. He tells you after the road test you didn't pass the parking lot test, I thought if you didn't pass that part you didn't go on the road. I even went through him and he failed me right away. He's a crook and a racist. The majority of black people that use him he fails but the white people usually pass. I would never ever go there again money wasted twice he made stuff up as to why you don't pass. He is a RIP OFF.
I hope everyone passes. Unfortunately, during the road test, your daughter was unsafe when she turned left on a solid green light in front of a black Equinox and a tan Oldsmobile on another left turn. Your daughter failed because she was unsafe, not for any other reason. I pass 7 out of 8 road test clents, based on their driving performance alone. Also, I gave your daughter a $15 discount. The purpose of the road test is to determine if a driver is unsafe and then to protect the general public from those unsafe drivers. Byron Major.
