Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Dorrian and Terry! They were patient, calm and an excellent teachers. After only a little time in my first lesson with Dorrian I already felt more comfortable behind the wheel. I signed up after failing my first road test but passed only a month later due to these lessons. Grand Prix is also very flexible with lesson times and test dates. Amazing school and I am so thankful to Dorrian and Terry for their instruction and support!

Fantastic experience: I couldn't have had a better experience with Grand Prix Driving School. I had ZERO experience driving at the age of 32. I took 30 hours of lessons with Perry over the course of 2 months and passed the road test on my first try! He's the best!!! I can't say enough good things about this driving school. Seriously, I am almost sad that I passed my road test on the first try because now my lessons with Perry are over... I'll remember this time fondly forever <3

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Grand Prix. I signed up for the package including the 5hr certificate, 7 hours of driving (over 5 sessions), and road test. They pick you up at home which is amazing and schedule your road test for you, which is ideal since the process can be a little frustrating. The staff was flexible when I needed to reschedule lessons or even my road test. My instructors were Terry and Dorian, both very calm and helpful. A driving session with Dorian before the day of my road test and morning of (on a snowy day even!) provided to be just what I needed and I passed my test! Thanks for giving me this freedom, Grand Prix!

Fantastic experience: I want to say thank you to Dorian and Nancy at the Grand Prix driving school. They were very kind and they coordinated everything great for me, I am glad that I passed my road test with their help and guidance.

Negative experience: Hang on to your certificates!!! If you don't, you won't get any help here. I wish I could give 0 stars. My daughter took the 5-hour online driving course in 2022. Unfortunately, she foolishly discarded her certificate after she obtained her driver's license. She thought she would not need it. As Murphy's law would have it, my auto insurance company requested verification that she completed a 5-hour course. I started calling Grand Prix in August to request some sort of verification. A letter on their company letterhead would have sufficed. I supplied the date she completed and they found her in their computer system. It is the end of September and I have yet to receive the verification. I have called every week since August and every day this week. Promises, promises; run around, run around; excuse after excuse. A pathetic way to run a business. Poor record keeping and abysmal customer service. Sadly for me, I will not only have to pay more for insurance, but I will also have to pay to have my daughter re-take the course.

Fantastic experience: The whole team was very kind, organized, punctual and attentive. Communication was very smooth with the office team and Noel's (my instructor) guidance was fundamental for me to refresh specific NYC driving rules (as I am an experienced driver, with an international license seeking a local one) so I could pass my test. Fantastic experience: I took a 10-hour package with Dorian and passed my road test on the first try! He is an incredible instructor, and I would like to share my experience of taking classes with him. I have hesitated on starting to drive for the past 10 years of my life. Taking lessons with him gave me a lot of reassurance and confidence when driving. He talked me through everything, and we jumped in pretty quickly into the most challenging skills tested on the road test, such as switching lanes, parallel parking, and 3-point turn, so I was very comfortable with all of them on my test day. Dorian is an excellent and encouraging teacher and a great person in that he is approachable and caring and will go out of his way to ensure your success! Fantastic experience: Dorian is the man!!! He helped me pass my driving test with little-to-no nervousness. He is patient, relaxed, reassuring, and a thoughtful instructor. You will practice everything (i.e., parallel parking, K-turn, etc...) that's on the road test an ample amount of times before you get to the road test site. Highly recommend him as an instructor!

Positive experience: It’s alright. The instructor is constantly talking, but not correcting my mistakes. He was good at teaching parallel parking, but turning was not so well taught.

Fantastic experience: It was very easy to schedule one on one driving lessons and the 5 hour class. Dorian, a driving instructor at Grand Prix, helped me become a very confident driver by clearly teaching me road signs, how to navigate city traffic, and most importantly how to pass the driving test. Choose Grand Prix Driving School - they might be pricey compare to other driving schools in the city, but all of their instructors are certified, they have good cars to learn on, very reliable and they genuinely want you to pass your test!

Positive experience: I passed my test and a huge part of that is thanks to my instructor Dorian, and how he taught me to stay calm, confident and do the right things behind the wheels. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is new to driving or is an anxious driver. He cares about your safety, what you are learning from him and goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you are here for. I deducted 1 star since scheduling sometimes can be very difficult and frustrating, involves calling multiple times to get the right person/right information. But once you get pass that hurdle and get the right instuctor that is right for you, you are in good hands.

Positive experience: The instructors were great with all different styles. I had three of them, Augusto, Dorian, and Noel, due to the limit of time, before the exam. They were all great. Among them, Augusto was experienced and made me feel relaxed and confident, which was really helpful on the exam day. However, the interaction with the management was awful (so, removed one star).

Fantastic experience: I was very lucky to have Augusto as my instructor. He is a great teacher: very experienced, kind, and wise. His instructions and methods are clear and easy to remember. As other reviewers have mentioned, he is good at helping the student feel relaxed and confident. You can't pass the test without a certain degree of confidence, so that was very helpful. The driving school itself is great, too. The secretary is very competent and helped me schedule lessons efficiently.

Positive experience: The company is not very organized. I passed exam, but I'm a professional driver, lost my license as I left it expired more than 2 years, so they wanted me to start from scratch. Agusto the instructor is good and accommodating.

Positive experience: Very disorganized logistically, but passed my road test on first try Edit: This is a gross misrepresentation of the service you provided. I paid $650 for five lessons. My first lesson, the instructor was 30 minutes late without even a courtesy call, then spent the entire lesson on his phone. Next lesson, he just didn’t show up, again without even a call (now that I think about it maybe you just told him the wrong lesson time again). I originally left a bad review, which you spent weeks (extremely unprofessionally) begging me to remove. You rescheduled me with a far better instructor, Augusto. However, even after confirming with me twice, you still managed to send him to me on the wrong day for one lesson and then to the wrong pickup address for the other lesson — and the whole time he was asking me to change my review (which I did by the way). You also tried to bill me for two extra hours of lessons that I never scheduled, again probably due to poor management of your scheduling system. And part of the reason I passed on my first try is due to the hours I spent outside of lessons practicing on my own. You are extremely disorganized and unprofessional - what kind of place of business responds to all of these bad reviews the way you do?

Positive experience: I took the online 5-hour course and completed a package of classes with my road test through Grand Prix. Grand Prix Driving is worth it if you connect with Dorrian as your instructor. As an adult and native New Yorker, I never got around to learning how to drive. Dorrian makes you feel comfortable and confident, learning all of the basics to pass the test as well as how to drive specifically to NYC. The Grand Prix Driving School office is usually very busy. If it takes you a few times to get ahold of the main desk, just be patient. Always leave a message with your name/number and they will call back.

Fantastic experience: I really appreciated how they booked my road test for me and that the office always called to remind me of my lessons. My instructor was Noel --he will definitely push you but it is worth it! He is very knowledgable about the nuances of the road test and helped me gain the exact skills to pass (on my first try too). Fantastic experience: Just passed my road test today, after 5 attempts with a different driving school. My instructor, Perry is an excellent and experienced teacher. He taught me skills that I did not learn in the other school. What I love most about his teaching technique is that he is honest and blunt with you when you mess up, and at the same time friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I am glad he was my Instructor. I wanna thank Nancy ( administration) who linked me with Perry; after looking at my old, almost tattered 5 hour certificate with 5 fails, she decided that Perry was the best to handle my dilemma. Oh, i forgot to mention about their cars; very clean and very well maintained. Fantastic experience: The person who answered my call was NOT interested in my business, but after being persistent she agreed to book me a spot even though she complained that they were super busy. That being said as you can see from my positive review I loved my driving instructor Augusto. He was 15 minutes early and gave me a call to let me know he had arrived. I asked if he wanted to get started early and we did so. I was VERY nervous to be driving 16 years from getting my drivers license... I live in NYC so I have not had many reasons to practice driving. Augusto was very calm even with me being quite concerned. We practiced and I got more and more comfortable driving.

Fantastic experience: I recently took the pre licensing course and a few hours of driving classes with the Grand Prix Driving School. Lisa, Jeff and Perry were great, highly knowledgeable and professional in everything they did: the registration, the teaching at the pre licensing course, the flexibility/availability when booking the driving classes, the actual instructions and driving pedagogy during the driving classes, etc. I just took and passed my driving road test today (first try) and I highly recommend them/the Grand Prix Driving School as they were extremely helpful and professional with everything they did!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test only a month or so after getting my permit. Grand prix made everything super easy and learning to drive in Manhattan is the way to go. If you can drive here you can drive anywhere. I had Augusto teaching me and he's a true gent. Always on time, thought me really well and super patient. Never once had me stressed and made sure I was comfortable and ready for the test, so ready that I passed it on the first go! Couldn't recommend them more and their COVID protocols are great.

Fantastic experience: Everything went smoothly, I could take the 5-hour class and then schedule a few driving lessons very quick before taking the test. I drove around the UES with Augusto who is a very good teacher. He explained very well how the test would go and made it a fun learning experience at the same time. He said I was such a great student he taught me his magic trick to parrallel park. And it worked. Very good school.

Even joked around that I should call him Guruji (means teacher in Hindi). Highly suggest getting the full package even if you’re an experienced driver as the full service is worth it.

Fantastic experience: Very excellent experience. I was impressed with the Zoom 5-Hr class, very professional and thorough. My instructor, Noel is very knowledgeable and informative, listen to his instruction and you will pass your road test. I highly recommend.

Negative experience: This was unacceptable, I took the 5 hour driving course online 2 weeks ago on August 7th 2020. I still have not received it, I respectfully waited the 3-5 business days as they said it would take and I had a road test schedule the following week and have not received it to this day and it ruined my chances of getting it in NYS. They charge 55 dollars when it’s 45 everywhere else. I’m disappointed with this school and I won’t ever recommend or do business with this school again. They were unhelpful. I would like and refund
