Fantastic experience: Couldn’t speak more highly of Bal’s. Bellingham location is conveniently located. Online learning portion was great. Drive instructors were awesome and always timely. Online learning worked great for my teen with a busy schedule. Testing options were easy to book and complete. Loved being able to complete the state portions at the same locations. My teen is an excellent driver and highly recommend to Bal’s to all.

Fantastic experience: Bal Driving School is the best! I started at this school full anxiety about driving. I was so worried about having an instructor that would make me even more nervous but I had the opposite experience. Bal is an amazing teacher, he is patient and encouraging which helped me improve so much. I became confident in driving for the first time in my life thanks to Bal and Rocky. I am so grateful for the knowledge and skills they gave me. Rocky is an incredible teacher as well. He is so supportive and excellent at explaining how to do maneuvers. Fantastic experience: These guys are amazing! I highly recommend using them. Very professional and will go out of their way to make sure you get your license. Went as far as to come in on Sunday when they were closed so I could take the drive test since work prevents me from doing it during their normal business hours!

Fantastic experience: I would 100% recommend Bal Driving school. I had no driving experience prior to attending Bal Driving school and was very nervous and hesitant to begin driving. The school slowly built my confidence in driving and now I feel like I have the knowledge to drive in any circumstance. All instructors were very patient and taught safe and defensive driving techniques. Due to their flexibility and understanding, scheduling and re-scheduling lessons was very easy. I just recently passed my driving test on the first try after 20 hours of lessons. I had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I took my drivers skill test yesterday at Bal driving school in Bellingham and it was 100% a 5 star visit. For context, previously in the day I had my drivers test at the DOL and didn't pass after receiving 79 points (one point from passing over something that wasn't even on the rubric). I was very upset and was in urgent need to get my license done that day. I tried to schedule for another time at the DOL but they weren't available for TWO and a half more weeks. I found Bal driving school online and called them...they answered IMMEDIATELY! They were able to schedule me a SAME-DAY appointment. Two hours later I arrived at Bal driving school to the kindest people who made the process so easy to understand with a great price. I was able to take my test in the surrounding area and felt comfortable and supported by Bal. I successfully passed with a 92% and was overjoyed after I worked so hard. They have a great location near the city center and everything worked out so perfectly. I feel incredibly grateful for Bal and the driving school. They turned around my day so quickly and made the process so easy for me. 100% recommend going here rather than the DOL. They can schedule SO MUCH QUICKER and save you so much time (as well as properly grade you). Thank you Bal Driving School!

Fantastic experience: I’ve always been nervous about getting started driving, I grew up on an island with no traffic lights and only one main road and had put off getting started with learning to drive for years. Negative experience: Paid 80$ for a drive and within the second turn the instructor instantly had me turn around and terminated my drive and told me I ran a stop sign I quite clearly didn't huge scam just go to the dmv for 35$ would not recommend waisting your time and money Ps. They insta failed me cause they couldn't scam me out of an extra 40$ for the 30 minute pre test

Fantastic experience: What a great experience! Called Monday and they were able to get my son in by Wednesday for his drivers test. For a few extra dollars he was able to use their car for the drive. With 2 more teenagers to go, this is definitely where we'll be going, and referring to.

Negative experience: I will be going to share my bad experience with “Bal driving school” when I went for driving test from day 1. I made an appointment with Bal driving school on 31st May. The owner of the school, Mr. Bal, rescheduled it to 3rd June as per his conveyance. On that day I took the road test even it was raining heavily & he failed me giving some reasons such as “No control on gas pedal, not applying indicators” etc., and before going to 2nd test, I asked him about warmup class, and he suggested no warmup class needed as I am a seasoned driver. Again on 3rd June i made another appointment for 2nd road test & the same instructor failed me giving reasons such as “shoulder check not done, hand break not applied” etc., By these 2 road tests I completely lose my “self-confidence” and decided to take warm up class based on Mr. Bal, suggestions who earlier told me I am a seasoned driver, good in vehicle balancing & no need of warmup class. Again, on 7th June I made one more appointment for 3rd road test & warmup class with “Bal driving school”. I had been given warm up class for 1hr & road test for 30min. This time the instructor was Mr. Sanjam, he gave the training & it was satisfactory. He did not explain about types of lanes such as bike lane, vehicle lane etc., After warmup class Mr. Sanjam himself took the road test & he failed me by saying, I drive on bike lane while turning right and that is a violation. Due to this single violation my marks will became “0” (zero), which I feel should not be. I was disappointed & returned home. After some time, later Mr. Bal calls me and asks me to come for free training one day, which I feel disgusting & pain full. This way “Bal driving school” is irritating & makes applicant to fail multiple times & does whatever he thinks. This will happen to you also. So be careful. This review is based on myself as well as my friend’s experience.

Negative experience: I took my written test here and they told me I got 6 wrong out of my 40 question test that was about a couple months ago and I have learned that you're allowed to get 8 questions wrong so I called them about that he said "let me look at your file" I gave him my ID number he found me and he said "you got 10 wrong" that was from my second attempt there and I asked about my first attempt and he said "oh..." then you could hear him clicking on his keyboard and then say "you got nine wrong sorry goodbye" complete and utter scam when I was there in person they kept trying to sell me a bunch of learner's packages and the price kept changing when we asked them about them don't go here that is the best advice I can give you

Fantastic experience: Got a quick drivers test appointment set up on Saturday morning at Bal driving school in Bellingham (DOL only does driving tests on Wednesdays, so booked up for almost a month) showed up with paperwork, filled out necessary forms, my son took his test and was done in 45 minutes. Sanjam was very professional, walked him thru everything and put my son at ease. Highly recommend for any of your driving instruction or testing needs!

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience! I enjoyed it very much! Everyone was so nice and really great people to talk to! Positive experience: 1. Recommended this place to my two relatives. Both are happy, they passed driving tests. Two my daughters passed tests too. 2. Staff is very polite and friendly. Parking lots shared with other businesses, but I did not have any problem. Work time is good to me. Even Saturday included. 3. At the time of this review, they offer driving knowledge test, driving test, traffic safety education required by state, fingerprints and more. 4. Prices are more affordable then in other schools here in Watcom county. 5. I give 4 stars because of my picky nature. For comparison, Immigration and Hospital get 1 star from me, Social security and DSHS- 2 stars, Bellingham DOL - 3 stars. Nobody got 5 stars from me so far. :-) 6. I witnessed one time when customer was complaining after failing driver test thinking that nobody understand what they are saying due to a different language. I speak both languages. Customer failed due to lack of basic safety skills: not checking blind spots, keep moving without stop on the stop sign, not using turn lights ans some more. I heard explanation. Customer decided to express rude unhappiness instead if accepting reality - not ready yet, practice more and learn from mistakes. Pass and drive safe. No, they said "I told you. Go to **** school all our people pass there." Why I put this here? Just to let you know - someone could be angry on Bal Driving School and write bad review just because of their fault and bad mood. Fantastic experience: Alright hear me out. Great place to go learn how to drive. Zoom calls were fun and enjoyable. I especially liked the drives with the instructor. He was calm the whole time even if you mess up. He corrects you and makes you feel more confident driving. Instructors are very nice and can be a life long friend. I recommend doing the class with a friend, it brings more excitement to the table. P.S. don’t bring dirty muddy boots to drives .

Fantastic experience: I’ve been trying to learn how to drive for ten years. Finally I can get behind the wheel confidently and safely! If you want to actually learn how to drive go to Bal driving school. Unlike other schools I’ve been to Bal will actually focus on real life driving skills rather than being stuck driving around in a parking lot.

Fantastic experience: I had came from Vancouver to get my US license. I had done my written test at the DMV and had passed. They had said it would be about a month before I can do my skills test due to it being fully booked. I called Bal Driving School and they said they could get me in the same day for the skills test! I had met with Sanjam and he was absolutely amazing. He was super helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, made me feel very welcome. I passed my skills test with flying colours and I was able to get EVERYTHING done the same day rather than going back and forth from Vancouver to Bellingham to the DMV to do my skills test, get my license situated, etc… Bal Driving School was super helpful and would 110% recommend them for anyone trying to get their license in Bellingham.

Fantastic experience: Zooms calls were easy and convenient, and the instructors were very kind, forgiving and helpful. There’s integrated study time via kahoots, (an online quiz game) which I found very helpful. Power points were clear and concise, and there’s a 10 minute break halfway through which I liked. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Easy to get an appointment, got it for the next day. I am new to Bellingham, so asked for 1 driving class before the test. He was able to schedule that too. Very friendly and accomodating. During the class, drove around to get accustomed to road of Bellingham and he gave out improvements/advices/tips for better driving. Used their car for the class and test, it was clean and well maintained. The test was conducted very professionally.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here. Just needed to get a driving exam and the process was seemless, with scheduling so much quicker than going through the DOL (was going to have to wait two weeks with them whereas I could get a test the next day with Bal). Instructor was very fair and professional, informed me both of the things I did well and where I could improve. Would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic experience: i took my driving test here yesterday, signed up for the 30 minute lesson and then the drivers test in their car right after. the lesson was super helpful. i’m a 18 year old girl and the instructor was polite and made me feel comfortable. very professional in the best way. i passed my drivers test and i have been recommending this place to my friends who haven’t taken their tests yet.
