CFI - Tampa Truck School

Fantastic experience: I did the refresher because I had to deal with other issues just upon completing the ELDT course but not the actual DMV test. This school did great for me, with my awkward work schedule ending at 7:15AM and they made sure I could slip into a class right about that time. I got better dexterity with the truck as they do one student-to-one-truck training and not the hurried 9-to-a-truck setup I first experienced. I passed at the testing center in one go. Thanks CFI!

Fantastic experience: CFI is an outstanding school with exceptional customer service and flexibility. From the office staff to the instructors, everyone is highly supportive and dedicated to your success. In particular, my one-on-one instruction with PAPO and the group classes with Gerry on Fridays were very beneficial. The key to success is to be attentive, come prepared to learn, and practice as much as possible. Be honest about your skill level, and you’ll do well. I passed my CDL road test on the first attempt thanks to the guidance of my instructor, PAPO, and the supplemental training from Gerry’s group classes. I also needed to adjust class schedules and test dates a few times due to work commitments, but Olivia was always incredibly responsive. She effortlessly accommodated my needs and ensured my training continued without disruption. The pricing is very competitive, and the personalized one-on-one instruction makes it an unbeatable value. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at CFI.

Negative experience: You should probably start teaching your drivers on roads that at least have two lanes. so people can pass them. Multiple times I’ve been stuck behind your student drivers driving down 301 with about 50 cars trying to murder everyone to pass them! Have some common sense and stop being greedy to try to make your money. It is unnecessary to bring them down a road and force everyone to stay behind your driver that is going way under the speed limit and nervous enough already without having angry people behind him. You can drive on two lane roads all around your training facility and provide sufficient training by doing so without interrupting everyone’s day and may possibly save a life. Well in response to your response. I do apologize for assuming and you are correct I don’t know the business. But I’m am very sorry that you feel like this has nothing to do with your business to me that seems a little irresponsible way to think…. it’s your trainee,your trainer in your truck driving on a public road. This also has nothing to do with my patience. I waited behind him the entire time, the reason I wrote a review is because I almost witnessed two head-on collision that day with the line of cars trying to get around him and that can be avoided if you just go on a two lane road where people can safely pass your inexperienced driver. To me that seems like common sense for everyone involved. So try to belittle the situation and act like I’m being inconvenience and I’m such a terrible person for thinking how I do. but the truth is, it is irresponsible as a business to put people in situations like that. I guess you just don’t teach students to share the road with everyone around them. They’re just training to get their license to drive an 80,000 pound semi down the road. But I do wish you and your nonprofit the best you are aware of the situation so handle it however you see fit. So I do hope you try your best to make some changes for the safety of everyone on the road. Have a great day and stay safe.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing driving school, with hands on [one on one] custom made experience with great instructors [Gerry, Kahiri, etc...] They were instrumental in developing great drivers, ready to hit the roads and reach an amazing Milestone. Fantastic experience: Will start off by saying all of the instructors are amazing , randy, papo,gerry,matt,kyree ! This school knows how to set you up for success for sure ! The best advice I can give to anyone considering this school is , each (instructor) will teach u something different ! I say that in regards to how they feel like teaching, I took something from everyone one of these instructors and applied it to my learning ability which made it even easier for me ! (Gerry and Matt) where my main instructors and are both great ! 10 stars to all of these guys ! The tricky maneuver is the last one # 4 and to me the easiest way to learn it is the way kyree teached it to me ! (Like u said I took something from everyone and made it easier for myself , my test was passed on my 1st shot ) if your serious about it the school might give u options to cover someone canceling, when that happened with me I jumped on every opportunity given ! Gage works the fron office amazing man ! Much love and respect goes out to all of the cfi family ! And I will definitely recommend everyone who is interested about a cdl to go to cfi !

Fantastic experience: First, the staff Papo, Matt, Randy and Gerry have all been very helpful. They will teach you the driving maneuvers and skills needed to pass your test. Second, you get one on one training from the instructors. You have the instructor with you for your entire session. They can personally focus on areas that may need additional attention. Finally, the cost was less than the others schools I contacted. Plus you get the personal attention for that cost. They are a great bunch of guys. And they want you to pass. Thanks, I passed the pre-trip and driving test with no problem.

Fantastic experience: This school and the instructors set you up for success ! They were able to accommodate my busy work schedule and get all my classes setup on my days off. The instructors are all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Kenny and Randy were my two instructors throughout my time and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience and knowledge I gained from both of them. They are good at finding what area(‘s) you need work on and they have the patience to continuously go over that area(‘s) until you master it. With the knowledge and experience I received in the training yard and on the road with my instructors I was able to pass all three required test portions on the first try! The classes are very affordable, the equipment they have is the exact same equipment you will be using to take the test at the testing facility so you are already comfortable and won’t have to get used to something new on test day. I would 100% recommend this school to anyone trying to obtain their Class A CDL.

The instructor Kyree was very good at communicating and demonstrating the manuevers that you need to pass the exam and be a safe driver. Kyree was very good at explaining the whole truck driving experience in a simple way.

Fantastic experience: Just passed and received my CDL Class A with no restrictions today I had a great 3 weeks of training with Gerry and Matt, wonderful instructors very informative and helpful whenever I had any sort of questions I had for them. Fantastic experience: So far without Matt & Gerry I couldn’t make it. 1st exam (pre trip): Just study the book that they did by heart and go to the exam and say it. 2nd ( 4 steps maneuver): either Matt or Gerry will give you few techniques how to achieve 80% of the exam without any effort or stress. 3rd ( on the road): If you were with Matt or Gerry you will get one of the 2…. Or a tip to progress or a thumbs up that you doing good. NB: I experienced with other instructors there, Matt and Gerry are the best, professional wise and friendly wise. Good luck for all

Both truly cares and I really don't think I would have passed my test without them. Now school has flexible schedule, one on one training and Fridays are group class. Now they do have some specials with reasonable prices. But I paid full amount and other schools paid for 2 test but this school only one and because I failed my first one, I had to paid for my second test in which is not cheap. I gave the stars mainly for the instructors cause these instructors make sure you know everything for you to pass that final. Thank you Gerry n Matt. Overall I recommend the school. But you will only get out of it what you put in. Leave your ego at home and study your pretrip until you absolutely can't anymore and listen to your instructors.

Fantastic experience: My guy Gerry with the G Witta is the best trainer. I started at CFI for about 10 classes with a previous trainer. Did not pass or learn the things needed. Gerry has patience, is soft spoken and reassuring. He does not yell at you if you mess up a maneuver or if you mess up on the pre trip. He goes over it with you on the spot until you get it. Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about the awesome experience that I had with this school! I was looking for something close to where I live and had a fast turnaround time. Luckily they were offering a sale if you registered and paid cash up front. So I did. I never drove a semi truck with a trailer but the instructors made me feel confident the whole time. At the time I was there, I was trained on current techniques and curriculum but the state was going through some changes. I was concerned about the driving exam because of this but once I explained my situation to one of the representatives in the office I was offered more training at no cost to me. I trained as much as I could and practiced the pre trip inspection as often as possible. The soonest I could schedule an exam was bout a month after I completed the course. I’d advise trying to schedule an exam about half way through the course so you can get in as soon as possible. I went and passed my pre trip, closed course maneuvering test and my road skills test with flying colors and now have a CDL A license I am very happy I chose CFI. The instructors are very knowledgeable, understanding and respectful. I will recommend CFI to anyone that asks. Thank you so much!!!

He has the experience to backup his knowledge in commercial driving as well as relatable on life experiences. His personality is awesome and even when frustrated Hese always calm. Learning the verbiage was definitely easy with his teachings. Matt is a very very easy going teacher with the ability to teach you on whatever level you’re at. With me he had a common ground so being relatable and understanding the industry I work in helped him adjust how he approached me. His adaptiveness is definitely a key to his success as a veteran truck driver AND teacher! Fantastic experience: I never thought in a million years I would need to get my CDL until I received a new job opportunity that required one to start. I was nervous at first but I was met with 5 star customer service from everyone I spoke with when getting started which made my experience easy from start to finish. CFI had the best pricing and flexible scheduling, allowing me to do weekend classes to make my life a lot easier. I had top notch instruction from Kyree and Kenny who both gave it their all during all of my classes. I passed my test with flying colors because of the great instructors making it easy for me to understand everything for my test! Fantastic experience: First off I like to give a shoutout to myself for knocking the test out( one hitter quitter ). CFI gang lol but nah the school is amazing, the fact that you get one on one training makes the school worth it. “Gerry Witta G is awesome” he will make sure you pass. Matt will give you real road life lessons and directions. Overall I recommend CFI 1000%, they’ll properly mounted and secured, not cracked damage or loose lol.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at CFI! I needed weekends only, and LeAnn was wonderful with working around my availability to schedule classes for me. I had all three weekend instructors at some point during my time with the school. Kyree, Kenny, and Papo were all very thorough with pre-trip, clear and helpful instructions when doing backing maneuvers, and patient with my learning curve in the manual. Don’t shift in any intersections. I enjoyed my time learning with all three of them. There was a recent change in the pre-trip inspection and backing maneuvers, and they made sure to get me in for an extra class (after my last scheduled class but before my road test) to go over said changes and ensure I was comfortable with them before my road test. I passed my road test in one try, and I owe it to CFI. I would recommend CFI to anyone looking to acquire a CDL, especially if you need weekends-only. One-on-one instruction, without sharing a truck with multiple people gives a lot of quality time behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: I attended CFI Trucking School recently for 3 weeks. I was able to obtain my CDL A license with the help of the great instructors and office staff. Everyone there is very helpful and nice. I highly recommend this school for your CDL license!

Fantastic experience: Great Truck Driver Training Program ! Spoke to the team a few times before actually getting started & when I was finally ready they were able to get me scheduled right away. I passed my final test on the first try thanks to the instructors doing a great job in teaching everything we need to know.Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to get into this career!

Fantastic experience: My experience with CFI was top notch. This for me was the best most economical way to get your CDL. They made it so easy. You can work at your own pace so that you can still have a job and work on your CDL at the same time. This was my first experience with commercial driving so I was pretty raw. My instructor Gerardo was extremely patient and took me all the way from nothing to passing the test confidently. I would recommend their program to anyone looking to get their CDL.

Fantastic experience: Great cheap school that has flexible schedules to work for anyone and amazing instructors. All the instructors are great people and care for the students, they are patient, and are different in their own way of teaching something which is good because you can learn different ways of doing things which can be helpful when you are struggling to learn something. The ladies inside are amazing and very helpful if you have any questions or concerns.
