Conahan's Driving School

Negative experience: I had scheduled for a drivers appointment and I wasn’t able to make it because of an emergency but they wouldn’t reschedule me or give me a refund I lost 80 dollars! And I am by no means able to waste that kind of money honestly it’s crazy that they won’t compensate anything especially because it’s usually younger kids buying they’re drivers test who don’t have that kind of money.

Fantastic experience: I thought it was good the gentleman that was leading the class made it so that me, a visual learner understood everything better also Also I aced my permit test on the last day after class (Srry I'm kinda bad at writing reviews lol)

They created a comfortable learning environment that helped me build both my skills and confidence behind the wheel. The lessons were well-structured, and they provided clear, constructive feedback. The online scheduling system was easy to use, and I always felt well-prepared for each lesson. I couldn't have done it without the support of this amazing team. Fantastic experience: My instructor was Foster. During the lessons he gave personal stories that made the lessons really easy to get and remember. He was also really good about breaks and lunch. He made it clear when we had to be back in the classroom and it never really felt like we were overworked. Overall I thought Foster and this course were amazing :)!

I learned a lit of real world learning on driving. I really do recommend this for people who need in person drivers ed.

Fantastic experience: Going into this class I had heard stories about how boring it would be. My instructor was Foster and made the material perfectly understandable and clear. The breaks he gives are reasonable and flexible. He let us go outside and take walks around the campus. I haven’t taken the driving portion yet but I am completely comfortable with Foster being in the same car as me.

Negative experience: My driving instructor was Giovani, and boy did he like to grab the wheel. I had to take my 6 hours of driving with the instructor even though I already had my 50+ hours completed with a guardian, totally fine, and I felt confident I knew what I was doing with some things I could improve on. 2 things, a.) he told me to not look over my shoulder to merge on the highway after telling me to always look over my shoulder to merge because “the mirror shows everything you need to see when you’re getting off the on-ramp to merge.” And b.) I saw a cop pulling someone over off Taft Hill, so I looked over my shoulder, and nobody wasn’t there, so I put my signal on and merged to give the officer space, and this egotistical short king who put his big boy pants on confidently grabbed the wheel and jerked me back to the right lane where I flew by the cop about 4 feet from him. “You don’t merge unless I tell you to!” Overall, I would’ve preferred someone who doesn’t pretend like everyone else’s driving skills are beneath his and who is more tolerant with teenagers.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful foundation for students learning to drive and preparing them to take their driving permit test at the DMV. Foster is an amazing instructor! He gives clear and concise information needed for the students to succeed! I highly recommend Conahans Driving School !

Negative experience: Saturday July 6th, 2024 9:30 pm I had a super weird encounter with a white male, late 50s or 60s, driving a vehicle with the Conahan’s driving school sign heading southbound on Lemay ave crossing harmony. I had just beeped my horn at my friend to say goodbye and this guy in the car starts shouting me the bird. We were both stopped at the intersection and he was acting super strange…when the light went green he rolled through the interaction barely accelerating as I waited to turn like he was looking for a confrontation? For a driving instructor to behave like this makes me question a few things. Get a life

Negative experience: I had the worst experience with these folks. I'm thankful to see that I'm not crazy and other people have complained about the same things. They lack any sense of customer service, were rude and condescending. Overall unhelpful.

Negative experience: Do not use this school, find another one. I asked specific questions and drove 3 hours, took the day off work, paid 90$ in advance just so when I got to my appointment with everything they told me to bring, I asked if I needed a Colorado permit and they said my out of state paper license would work, I show up and it was a big no, they refused to refund or reschedule me. 90$ for their mistake… wow, please don’t waste your money as it seems they may be one of those places that charge in advance and find a mistake so you’re forced to pay again…smh

Negative experience: The driving instructor driving around town today can't even follow the law. They just about read-ended me trying to change lanes to not get stuck behind a shower driver, then speed off. And it wasn't a student driving. Don't bother using this service as they won't teach the law.

Fantastic experience: This is a fine organization, run by a standup guy, with a heart for helping people. I recommend using them for your young driver's education needs. Top notch instruction!

Fantastic experience: Conahan’s is a great driving school. Their instructors are patient and knowledgeable and their owner is fair and bends over backwards to make sure everyone gets the best deal. They know what new drivers need and how to get them there.

Fantastic experience: They are very polite and helped walk us through The whole process of getting Kids licensed. Their cars are clean and a lot newer than mine, and their instructors are very knowledgeable. We are lucky to have them in Northern Colorado.

Negative experience: I can not believe the experience I had.tester was late. Showed up drunk from the night before I'm sure. Reaked of alcohol! The car was a total death trap. Check engine light on. Transmission so bad the car was jumping trying to get to posted speed limit. This place needs to be held accountable. The tester was with a child prior to my test!

Negative experience: Some older guy in a red pt cruiser had the nerve to honk at me when I passed him going maybe 5 over then pulled up next to me at the light and started to yell at me. Maybe become a cop instead of a driving instructor if you want to control how others drive on the road.

Negative experience: Just saw their purple PT cruiser driving around with its high beam headlights on, while in town, binding everyone. Doesn't speak high regards at their ability to correctly instruct new drivers. I would consider searching elsewhere for driving instruction.

Negative experience: Receptionist was rude and sarcastic.

Fantastic experience: Completed my interlock driving test today and it was wonderful. Scheduling and paying for the test was simple. The location was easy to find and the gentleman I took the test with made me feel at ease and comfortable. He was professional and thorough as well. I have taken this test with another company in town and felt so nervous and judged. Today went above and beyond my expectations. Will be recommending!!

Fantastic experience: I took my re test today and had Jim as my driving instructor. Jim was great he was super kind and understanding I even forgot my permit the first time and he came out of his way to test with me later in the day. I could not have thanked him more he didn’t even charge us for his extra time to come back he was super helpful before during and after the test. definitely would recommend him, Doug my first instructor, and Conahan’s. I was reading some of the other reviews and almost all of the bad ones are caused by the phone operator or the client themself so I wouldn’t think twice about believing there comments. Everyone I have met has been kind caring and knowledgeable.

Negative experience: i hate to say this, but it is kind of a rip off. we paid for 6 hours of behind the wheel training and my instructor only did 5. we also scheduled a driving test on the wrong day which was my fault i will admit. but they are charging us again for a reschedule. i’m extremely disappointed, they only just want your money. i don’t think they care about your learning.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience taking my driving test with Conahan’s driving school! The test was really easy to schedule asap via phone call. The examiner was friendly, professional, and helpful. He made me feel less nervous and comfortable to take the road test and gave clear directions. I was able apply all of my driving knowledge from practicing to prepare for this test. It was $80, which is more affordable than Mountain State. Just remembered to bring cash! I would 100% recommend going to Conahan’s for your road test instead of Mountain State. Thank you for the positive experience!!

Fantastic experience: Just wanna share that I thank this driving school because my bff almost lost her confident in driving but because of this driving school regained her confidence. Glad she listened to me. According to my bff, driver instructor was so professional and cool. Definitely will refer this driving school for my relatives and friends. God bless

Negative experience: This was the worst experience I've ever had with a service company. First, we purchased the $500 at-home study thinking it would be an online course only to find out that you have to drive to a person's house to pick up the paperwork and a USB drive (so they're still living in the 19th century) and it's a joke... you have to drive back to their house to drop off the final quiz to be graded. Then... the manager is not helpful whatsoever and not a person person and they obviously do not care about customer service, they already have their money and do not care about their customers. I will never use this company again for my other children and will never recommend them and turn people away from using this. This system is a joke.

Fantastic experience: Our daughter had a very positive experience with both the in-person classes and with her driving instructor, Giovanni. He was not only professional but patient, reliable, and our daughter has come away from her hours with him feeling more confident and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Giovanni!

Negative experience: I didn’t go to this place but had an experience with a teacher and student. The speed limit was 30 in front of CSU and he flew past me as I was going 32mph. We get up to a stoplight and I roll down my window and asked the instructor if he knew what the speed limit was, he said 25mph (obviously NOT a good instructor if he himself didn’t know the speed limit). I informed him that it was actually 30mph and that his student was going faster then that. So is speeding and not paying attention the way this driving school is teaching up and coming drivers??? It’s pretty obvious these instructors need more training themselves!!!

Fantastic experience: about 30 minutes ago i took my drivers test with Doug and he was so sweet! he was very professional and quiet, which i appreciate. i didn't take drivers ed here but the place seems lovely! i highly recommend conahans over mountain states anytime!!!!

Negative experience: Driving instructor was great but the driving test is set up to fail so they can keep charging 80 dollars. Called to complain about tester only to be told they are supposed to make you stressed and there is no discount for a retest. Said they would call back never did. Going some place else.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever SO UNPROFESSIONAL when speaking on phone. THEY HAVE the WORST customer service. The guy who answered the phone was very rude and racist towards my person and my son taking a driving test. DO NOT RECOMMEND this school it’s HORRIBLE.

Negative experience: Probably the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE IVE EVER DELT WITH. I had an appointment at 10:30 today and got there at 10:15 and waited for an hour where they told me too. I call the school and they give me Jims number i call him and he starts making up excuses saying he was here and waiting but never actually showed up. Drove past me twoce but never stopped. They waste peoples time and are extremely unprofessional dont waste your time with these people. Go somewhere else

Negative experience: DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS SCHOOL. The instructor flipped off other cars on the road out of the passenger window who honked at them for stopping in the middle of an unprotected turn to a dead stop. Then continued to break check and swerve to not allow other cars to pass while continuing to flip off other cars. Wouldn’t be surprised if the cars who were put in danger complain as well. However, after seeing this I do not trust this company with children or to instruct them on how to be safe drivers.

Negative experience: The guy I spoke with on the phone was very rude! He asked me if I was Muslim because I asked if there were female drivers for my teen daughter to drive with instead of a male. Then I asked if a parent could sit in the car and he flat out said no. Thankfully I found a different company that is cheaper and they allow a parent to be in the car with their teen daugther no questions asked. Now my daugther is comfortable driving with a man because I will be in the car with her. I don't understand why people are ok with sending their teen daugthers with a strange adult man alone.

Fantastic experience: Thank you very much for helping me take my driver's test, I tested with Mr. Jim Chance he was such a nice instructor and was very kind. I would chose Conhans over Mountain States any day.

Negative experience: I waisted my time dealing with these people. They are not friendly or helpful over the phone, have a hard time answering simple questions without being condescending and rude. This was my experience with 3 separate phone calls with them over a couple weeks time just to get a driving test scheduled. The DMV has a list of approved driving schools they send you to because they are not conducting driving tests at this time. The DMV has Conahan’s Driving School located at 256 East 2nd Street in Loveland Colorado. I got a driving test scheduled over the phone a week prior to the actual driving test appointment we had scheduled. I didn’t get hardly any information from that person really just to bring $90 cash, the date and time of the appointment. The day of my driving test comes, I show up at the address listed in Loveland on time. That did not appear to be the right place, my boss and I did not see a driving school anywhere. So we called the driving instructor after talking to a person in the office, they said we where at the wrong place and to call him. He said we had to reschedule because he could not wait for me to drive to him in Fort Collins. He told me to call the office. I drove back to work to figure this out with my boss. I called the office back to see if we could still fit me in for a driving test that day since there was a mixup in location information. I’m not sure if I was talking to another driving instructor or not but right away he started being condescending and rude to me. Just told me “speak”. I asked why he was being rude to me for no reason. He said it was because he answers 250 plus calls a day on average and basically didn’t have any time to waist on me. Not my problem. So I just explained what happened to him and said I ended up at the wrong address. Rude and condescending again he demanded that the instructor had to of told me that he gave me the address for the driving test. I know for a fact that the instructor did not give me the address. The guy ended the conversation by being snobby because I told him I was just going to go somewhere else and he just hung up on me. So my boss figured out that Mile High Driver Training in Northglenn, CO offered walk in driving test’s that same day. We drove there and got my driving test done for $80. It was great, the people there were awesome! I still made it to my DMV appointment I had scheduled for the same day and got my license. Thanks Mile High Driver Training!

Fantastic experience: I wish I would have found these guys in December. My son wasted too much time with Mountain States. Came to Conahan's for the driver's test and Doug was great! He was relaxed, personable and was able to get us in within a few days. I would suggest these guys over Mountain States any day. See you guys in a year for my daughter's driver's ed!

Negative experience: Mr. Doug is a peice of work.. All my years in customer service I've never met someone so rude And critical!! Covid has landed us in the predicament of having to hire these companies in order to perform a driver's license road test to take into the dmv for licensing.. I scheduled an appt. For Saturday and unfortunately missed it due to fault of my own. I called Doug to apologize profusely and reschedule my test. His response was I don't normally reschedule.. I'll do it but if you hose me this time loose my number and don't give it to other people... Be here Wednesday @10:30a.m. I told him I'd have to check with my driver to accompany me as I currently have a permit And get back to him.. He responded your going to have to work with my schedule... I then hung up to seek another company as I could no longer take the snide,critical plain rudeness.. Seriously? This is a business?? I couldn't fathom talking to costumers this way period. I understand this may happen to then more than it should.. however I made it a point to call in, be honest and apologize.. To have that disregarded and responded to like a scalded child if absurd.
