Negative experience: Was very disappointed. Instructor appeared very mad and angry the entire lesson. Told me to turn around in people’s driveways and had a short fuse. Not a good learning environment.

The entire team of instructors was fantastic, but I want to give a special shoutout to Gennadiy and Igor for their exceptional guidance and patience. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt confident and prepared. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to learn driving in a professional and supportive environment!

Fantastic experience: Great driving school! The instructors are very professional and patient. The training programs are well-structured, and the lessons help you feel confident behind the wheel. The instructor thoroughly explained all the details of the driving test and also pointed out the differences in traffic rules between the U.S. and the CIS countries, which was especially helpful.

Negative experience: It's rubbish .They overcharged me and won't refund. They Very rude attitude .I originally thought that this was just my personal misfortune at this school. Now it seems that this is not an isolated case.

Negative experience: THE WORST PLACE EVER!!! Read the details below I scheduled a road test exam through NDS for Saturday, July 27th. However, 4 days before the exam date, I received an email from the school saying that I was rescheduled for Sunday, July 28th. Due to my unavailability on that day because of the short notice, I contacted the school to request a reschedule. The manager assured me on the phone that rescheduling would be no problem at all, so I was moved to Saturday, August 10th. But, a week before my new test date, I received another email saying I was rescheduled yet again, this time for the following week. Since I was leaving the country, I obviously couldn't make that date. I asked the manager to cancel the exam and refund my payment. To my surprise, they did refund the exam fee (which is surprising given the other reviews I’ve read here). The main issue is that later, I noticed a "no-show" fee on my RMV account for July 28th, even though the exam had been rescheduled. The manager responded with: "RMV fees are not our fees! We send emails when RMV confirms tests. If you don’t like RMV rules, you are welcome to complain to RMV about their rules and regulations." I contacted several RMV departments, including the Road Test Department, about this "no-show" fee. I was told that Newton Driving School is responsible for this charge. Since I had notified them in advance that I couldn’t attend the road test on July 28th, NDS should have either rescheduled or canceled the appointment in the RMV portal. This information came directly from the RMV. When I passed this information to the manager, their only response was, “Be thankful we refunded your fee!” The information on NDS’s website does not align with their actual practices. Here are a few discrepancies: 1) They allowed me to schedule the road test less than two weeks before the test date. 2)Despite claiming that students receive confirmation at least one week before the test date (which I did receive), my test was rescheduled only four days before the original date. 3)Their policy states that cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the test date, but they canceled my appointment and issued a refund with less than two weeks’ notice. These inconsistencies suggest a violation of customer rights and may lead to disputes with RMV administration, not to mention the rude attitude toward customers. Due to Newton Driving School’s failure to properly cancel the test and their refusal to cover the resulting charges, I am now left with no option but to consider legal action. This issue is no longer just about the $35 but about the lack of respect and professionalism. I’ve heard this school was good under the previous owner, but since it was passed to his daughter, it has become a complete disaster. I couldn’t agree more. If you’re reading this (and if they haven’t deleted this review yet), PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. Save yourself the trouble while you still can.

Мне 65, у меня приличный стаж вождения в России, но я даже тогда не являлась хорошим водителем. А спустя 8 лет я вообще боялась сесть за руль. В Америке без машины твоя жизнь теряет энергетику и возможность активно включиться в жизнь. Поэтому мне надо было снова начинать водить. Я выбирала школу и брала уроки не только здесь, но мое решение было однозначным, только здесь, хотя эта школа была далеко от дома. Плюсы этой школы в том, что существует преемственность в обучении. Каждый инструктор - это опытный педагог. В процессе обучения отслеживается твой личный процесс и даются рекомендации.. Кроме профессионализма в преподавании , существует еще и психологическая поддержка в обучении, что не менее важно. Я благодарна всей команде этой школы, они все принимали участие в моем обучение и успешной сдаче экзамена экзамена. Я благодарна всем и надеюсь стать хорошим водителем на дороге. Negative experience: People seem nice but scheduling is a nightmare that draws out the process and in the end adds cost.

Positive experience: The driving school itself is nice. Instructors were very helpful. I failed during the test sadly (my first time) but overall this school also helped me of what to expect during the day of the test and I learned what I still have to work on. During the test day, I was just confused that the car that I’m about to use for the test is not the NDS car that I was using during my lessons and that’s all about it. I still recommend NDS!

Fantastic experience: I attended this driving school from December of 2023 to late April 2024, and I must say that overall, this driving school has been nothing but a great experience for me. For five of my lessons, I've had Igor, and to say he knows what he's doing would be an understatement. All of the instructors here are great, but Igor would arguably be the best, as when driving with Igor, he knows exactly which part of your driving needs to be improved on, and will help you accordingly. I believe all of the negative reviews of this school are mostly illogical and completely unjustified, as most of the negative reviewers likely didn't read the rules and instructions of this driving school or something, as I've never experienced any of the problems that they claimed to be experiencing. The instructors were nice and informative, the driving school cars were modern and neat, and the receptionist has also been very helpful, and because of this, I was able to flawlessly pass the road test my first try. Overall, if you're looking for a driving school in or near the city of Newton, this is your go-to place.

Negative experience: *** Updated review I left a fair bad review (read below), the school cancelled my class without the refund until I deleted the review. I disputed the charge until I received the services (I really had to delete the review to get the class I paid for!!). I cancelled the dispute two days after I received all the services and wrote back the review. The school owner filed a court case against me for disputing the charges and for writing a negative review. She filed the case with errors, made a mess with the documents in the court and not even showed up to face the situation she created. Of course I got all charges dropped against me. The owner really needs some professional help. *** Review was posted on May 9th, was deleted because I was blackmailed by school; I decided that losing $250 I paid and was not refunded isn’t worth giving up my beliefs. I have a scheduled appointment today (May 11th) at 2pm. And after I post this review it might get cancelled again like my appointment on May 9th was after i published this review the first time. But I believe everyone has a right for reviews and free speech. Freedom of speech cannot be the reason for a business to not provide services or refund money. The school is constantly closed during working hours, the phone is often not available, the one good thing - the administrator is a lovely girl that is helpful and friendly. The person on the phone (apparently the owner of the business) provides horrific customer service. I feel bad for all the employees and future customers of this lady. Highly recommend to avoid this school to not experience rude communication I came across. I want to provide additional information: I wanted to reschedule my road class last minute because I of the ear infection and high fever. When the woman on the phone refused to reschedule due to their policy, I came to the class anyway only to find out that she ordered the driver instructor to refuse me in PAID service until I delete my review. This is an illegal practice.

Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend at all. The woman handling the school most of time is hysterical and irresponsible.She definitely not a good fit for her position. The scheduling and reminder emails are a totally mess. The teacher are pretty nice. That's the only thing worth of a star.

Negative experience: Took only one class, but what a class it was! Got all the info I needed and lots of useful clues on what to look out for. Needed just 7 minutes to pass the test. All thanks to the instructor! The owner is extremely rude. If you have a chance, go somewhere else.

Negative experience: They are super hard to schedule with, very strict about cancellation, barley speak English, and overall not a good school. I do not recommend them at all Edit: This was a few months ago but after I wrote the review above they threatened to sue me for defamation. I am sure this has happened to other people as well who have been hesitant to speak up. If so please share your story. This driving school is acting predatory in this was as they also cancelled all my future classes and did not give me my money back.

Fantastic experience: Newton Driving School stands out as an exceptional driving school! The staff has consistently provided prompt and helpful responses to my numerous inquiries. Now, let me praise my driving instructors, Vlad and Igor. I took 1 hour driving lesson from Vlad and he taught me everything about the basics and then I did 2 hours with Igor! Igor - not only is he an outstanding instructor, but he's also one of the kindest individuals I've ever encountered. His patience, encouragement, and dedication ensured I learned everything thoroughly before my test. I'm thrilled with Newton Driving School and wholeheartedly recommend it. Plus, I passed my test! Negative experience: The Owner is ridiculously rude, she talks to people with no respect. She told my wife she wasnt smart for making a simple mistake when filling out form to schedule road test.. she recorded my wife when she came in about a refund and told her to get out.. she is ignorant and knows the way she acts will have a negative outcome, hence why she recorded after disrespecting my wife. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances.. and I notice she replies to the comments and denies that people have actually dealt with her trash attitude & call her out for her ignorance. Negative experience: Newton driving school is the worst by far the lady that answers the phone is very rude and very disrespectful. They are very racist as well. She actually insulted me and told me if I was smart enough, I wouldn’t have made a mistake All I wanted to know was if they do refunds, and she couldn’t even give me a simple yes or no. people of color be careful where you spend your money especially not with this company. Negative experience: Staff were curt and unprofessional when they finally managed to answer the phone. Ended up refunding me due to a miscommunication about pickup locations. Giving an extra star because they did at least process my refund (right before hanging up on me in the middle of a question.) Update: got this text from them a couple hours later: "If you do not take down nasty review we will call bank and take money back. If you did not read the contact and did not understand what was told to you. Not our mistake. You have 10 min. If a review goes up again we will contact rmv"

Действительно так тяжело научиться манерам, а не сразу же грубить, когда с вами пытаются максимально вежливо контактировать? Вы даже не желаете разбираться в любой ситуации, а сразу же начинаете кричать и ругаться. Развод на деньги так же присутствует, инструктора просто говорят одно, а после вообще другое. Это не является нормальным и профессиональным поведением на работе, не советую никому, будете и вы, и ваши нервы целее.

Negative experience: Wife attended the driving school. Instructor was nice and very professional. That said, the customer service is HORRENDOUS. We gave them a bad yelp review after they berated us on the phone for a very simple question, and we received a message that they will put a hold on her learner's permit! We confirmed with the RMV such holds don't even exist in MA!! Stay away at all costs!

Negative experience: The worst place to learn how to drive. Period. From the very beginning, they are rude and angry for no reason. The attitude of the staff is as if they were paying you instead. If you have any questions, they point at the door. If you cannot understand which address to come to, they will tell you that you are stupid and cannot find the information on the website. Although the website lists two addresses, it provides no additional information. If you complain or leave a bad review, they threaten to revoke your learner's permit. And yes, the staff barely speaks English. So if you want to waste time, money, and nerves and get rudeness in return, come here!

Fantastic experience: I did not have any driving experience before I came to the Newton Driving School. In just 10 hours of driving lessons I was finally able to learn basics, prepare for the road test and even go a little beyond the beginner's steps for use of this skill in everyday life. The instructors are extremely helpful, punctual and you can feel that they are invested in your progress, which is important. I have passed the road test today and for that I am grateful to the Newton Driving School. Thank you!

Negative experience: Bad experience overall. The process of scheduling the road test is extremely confusing they canceled my test 2 days before and rescheduled it 2 times after without asking me whether I'm free on those days. I would recommend brookline driving school even it's a little further and they're cheaper too.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at NDS! I went from zero driving experience to passing the road test on my first attempt. My instructor Vladimir was an excellent teacher - knowledgeable, clear and efficient. At one point I took single lessons from two other driving schools and there is no comparison at all! These guys are professional and know what they're doing - you'll truly be in good hands.

Fantastic experience: Обратился в школу за помощью для сдачи экзамена по вождению, хотя у меня водительский стаж 30 лет. Я месяц в Америке, у меня нет своей машины, я не знаю английский язык, хотел записаться в RMV, два месяца ждать, В школе подробно рассказали требования инспектора, я проехал по маршруту где проходит сдача экзамена, предоставили машину, при сдачи присутствовал русскоязычный инструктор, который помогал при общении с инспектором. И все это заняло 2 недели. Рекомендую

Fantastic experience: Взял один урок по вождению. Инструктор рассказал все тонкости по экзамену на русском языке. Автошкола записала на экзамен на 17 декабря в районе Южной школы Ньютона. Пробовал сам записаться на сдачу в Вотертауне. Там окно было не раньше 1 февраля На экзамене автошкола предоставила машину, русскоязычного инструктора и заполненную заявку. Я только подписал. Все удобно. Сдал с первого раза. Жена тоже хочет сдавать с ними. Годом позже жена и дочь так же взяли по одному уроку и сдали вождение с первого раза.

Fantastic experience: The best School Around!

Negative experience: AVOID. They are not on the up and up at many levels. Won’t send us a letter stating that we completed the parents instruction course unless we pay them 40 dollars! That is actually outrageous. Also they Tried to double charge me a couple of times ( had to show them records of my bank statement) and wouldn’t give me the money back for a class and road test that was never taken because they kept rescheduling. THAT money they have no record of. I think I’m going to have to take the loss. Not enough time to fight this. Oh well.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service. Cannot even answer simple question with a proper manner and hang on me. Clearly guide me to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: If they can teach me how to drive they can teach your kid. Came to my house to pick me up when I screwed up my scheduling. Prioritized safety, were strict but very patient. Vladimir rocks even if I drove him a little crazy. Got my license on the first go. Overall definitely worth it.

Negative experience: A friend left an honest review about her experience, and the first they did it, calling her to threaten her. What kind of service is this?

Negative experience: Not a good customer service, people shouldn’t be threatened for giving a honest opinion about what this place is.

Negative experience: The instructor was nice and helpful but the customer service is AWFUL. I didn't want to post a review until they threatened one of my friends for posting a review telling the truth about their customer service. The woman is extremely aggressive over the phone and yells at you if you try to reschedule or even if you ask for additional information. It's an easy/fast way to get your license but with a terrible customer service, avoid if possible.

Fantastic experience: So I was reluctant to get my license at first because it just seemed so scary but honestly Newton Driving School is literally amazing. I felt so safe in their hands and they prepared me so well for the license test. (I passed the first time). They are also really accommodating with scheduling which is so appreciated! Would definitely recommend!!

Negative experience: AVOID. The woman who I believe owns Newton Driving School was incredibly unprofessional during my virtual classes. She consistently lost connection due to being somewhere for the holiday that was not her home, was inattentive, and treated those in the class rudely. After passing my final exam, I called to schedule driving lessons and a road test. The same woman answered and was incredibly rude, and unapologetic about it. Despite being patient and polite with her, she agreed that I should seek opportunities elsewhere. Incredibly disappointed that I invested money here.

Negative experience: Refused me service after simply coming to owner with a concern about my prior road test exam. Because of this, she did not let me sign up for another exam. The lessons themselves are quite decent, but the business itself is not worth giving your money to. Very disappointing and overall unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Had one lesson and a road test with NDS. Super friendly and test route was more or less the same as the lesson which made it very easy to pass on first try. I had Igor as my instructor and he was great. The staff on Sunday road test were very helpful as well

Positive experience: These people know what they are talking about, they never charge you extra penny if you don't need to. I started from ground zero in my 50's and passed the driving test thanks to them. You will have all your questions covered. They are not cheap but they will help you through. Highly recommend Igor, Maxim (who is also the manager), Gennadiy and Vladimir Foygelman (do not confuse with Vladimir Penek).

Fantastic experience: Today i passed the road test on my second try. I wouldn’t be able to pass if i didn’t take the driving lesson from this driving school. They train you in the exact same route that you are going to take on the exam date. The lecturers are all Russian but if you are familiar with their straightforward attitudes and talking styles which I am, you would not feel offended by their way of teaching styles. They are really good at what they are doing and they give you all the information you need for the road test. Scheduling and making payments are done easily through their online portal and they keep you updated through emails about your appointments. If you want to pass the road test on your first try, definitely you should buy the package they offer road test with the one-hour driving lesson. Definitely recommend it!
