Negative experience: Didn't work for us. A little disorganized. Instructor declined a second try at the exam without charging an extra $295 on top of the $490 paid intially. It was money wasted.

Fantastic experience: First thing that comes to mind is he’s very experienced. He can spot subtle mistakes and correct well with just a touch to the steering wheel. He also is very patient in teaching and is really outgoing and free and cool in attitude. No pressure around him. You can tell he’s been doing this awhile; he knows all the driving testers and their personalities and all the small details for the test as if he memorized the testing rubric by heart. He himself is more than qualified to be a tester. Bonus is he accurately does mock tests which really helped out. He’s a rare to find and a very good teacher.

Fantastic experience: Definitely great at wha he does the best in the town funniest guy you can get and have plenty of different ways to teach you the first way usually sticks the best way. Definitely have to be confident wich he was able to bring that out of me and it felt great for one of the first times I’m only 18 it’s way easier than I thought I could’ve been driving in highschool so sad I didn’t meet my guy sooner. I was a first time driver, never drove in the past and I took 5 lessons with Allen and passed in my first attempt only due to his teaching and efforts for not feeling nervous before the test and just have confidence in myself. Fantastic experience: Alan is a great instructor, I came to take the 7 lesson plan but decided to pay for two extra before my road test. For context, I've never sat in the driver seat before taking his lessons, so everything was new to me, in figuring out the main controls of the car and driving in general. But Alan's confidence and easy going nature made it easy for me to drive which led to me passing on my first attempt. There were times where if it weren't for Alan, I would've gotten into some serious accidents, yet Alan stayed extremely calm and saw my learning experience under a growth mindset. Finding an instructor who is compassionate to teach his students, and go out of his way to pick and drop off his students was something I valued, and Alan provided just that.

He's a certified driving instructor, super down to earth, can easily read a student. His every lesson is like a road test, so that prepares you. Incredibly funny, if you're nervous he knows how to calm you down. I didn't pass in my first attempt. Took second attempt with Alan, and I passed! Fantastic experience: Buffalo's best driving school ever. The teaching method is very mature, and he teaches you the skills that will stick in your brain so you can easily pass the road test. At the same time, he will not only teach you the content of the road test to ensure you can pass the test but also let you try many scenarios that you may encounter in the future, such as raining, night, and highway, which makes me confident in my future driving and road test. Ps: I passed the road test on the first try without any points.

Negative experience: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Not only is this place extrneley inconsistent, he will flake on you for days, and then try and schedule last minute driving lessons. When you say they don't work for your schedule (because let's be honest, who can just make a last minute appointment like that ) he then proceeds to ghost you AGAIN until the time is suitable for him. He is extremely unfriendly and unprofessional and I PROMISE you spending the extra money to get an actual driving instructor is much more worth your time than someone like this who will just take your money and do whatever they'd like.

Today I got my driving license along with my friend rasika; I will miss his song and jokes. But remember Mr. Allen is a busy guy cuz he need to do lots of babysitting. I passed my test on my first try with him after 5 classes over a span of about 6 weeks . The prices are also good for the area . Give Alan a try !

Fantastic experience: Alan is one of the best driving instructors around! He talks to you and makes you laugh while you drive, effectively distracting you from being nervous. He also works around your schedule and points out your weak points so that you can work on them. I had my road test today and Alan took me to the test site to scope out any potential problem areas, which I highly appreciated. I only took 8 lessons without any extra practice due to not having access to a car, but I still felt readily prepared. I would recommend him to anyone, even those first starting out without any prior experience!

Fantastic experience: Hi all, Alan is the coolest driving instructor I ever met in my life. I am just 10 months in US and had only an initial experience with driving back in my home country India. With Alan's support, I was able to crack the road test in first attempt itself. Thank you Alan ....you are so great. Fantastic experience: Alan is such an amazing instructor… he helped me lot to pass me a driving test and yes I passed it in first attempt… He’s such a calm person… he didn’t yell at me even when I was about to crash the car on the highway… he’s very affordable and used to pick me up from Grand Island…Holmes driving school is the best school in Buffalo and very affordable with great instructor. Negative experience: I am not even sure if this driving school is even legitimate. I am gonna warn anyone who is considering getting driving lesson with Alan is that don't fall into his scam, as he is not a certified driver, and cares more about getting away with taking all of our money, that giving you lessons based on what you have paid for. This is literally one of the top 2 worst driving school in Buffalo, alongside Bangladeshi Driving Instructions Inc. They are good at taking advantage of those people whose English is second language. I really needed a license for delivery jobs, so I decided to get driving lessons from Alan because of cheaper package for 8 lesson. But don't let that fool you as he decided to not to show up during scheduled time after giving me few lessons. Personally, the he never responded to my emailed until I got my police and DMV involved, seriously half a dozen emails went unanswered. He even failed to show up during my road test, resulting my delivery driving jobs getting revoked. Very angry with this driving instructor. Get driving lessons from legitimate corporation such as Steven Driving Schools instead, as they actually teach you how to drive, even though price of lesson might be expensive. If that's not possible, try and get driving lessons from your friend. You will more likely pass road test with flying color getting lessons from either Stevens or your friend.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend taking lessons with Alan. He's calm, patient, understanding and answers all your questions. I passed my road test on the 3rd try, but I'm sad not to do lessons with him anymore. That's how good of a conversationalist and a person he is. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Alan taught the basics really well and was also very kind to pick me and take me to the driving test day. Was very patient in every step and gave me valuable feedbacks which helped me through the course. I can say he’s probably the only affordable driving school especially for students out here, has flexible schedules as per our availability, and is very understanding of our learning pace. Overall, he made learning fun and a little less scary, and he’s definitely an amazing instructor! Glad to have had this experience, enjoyed every bit of it! :) I would 100% recommend Holmes Driving School to anyone!
