Negative experience: Had a really bad experience. I was scheduled a lesson at 9am -10am. During my arrival to my pickup location at heath street green line station at 8:55 I proceeded to wait for my instructor at 9. He did not show up and I later waited 30+ minutes to later find out when calling the office he called out with no heads up prior to my lesson. The lady at the front desk had given me such attitude and told me “it’s not my fault, I can’t do nothing about that on my end”. I was later told to reschedule because there was no one else in the area to pick me up to proceed with the remaining time of my lesson. DO NO PICK THIS DRIVING SCHOOL !!!

Negative experience: This place is a mix of good and exceptionally horrible trainers. Some talks a lot, some promotes rude driving, while a few is intolerant to dialogue and communication. I am not sure how the school employs Yuriy. He is always angry about something or the other. Ms. Margarit and her dilapidated car (smells of tar and weed) is a pain to drive and learn. She cannot contemplate feedback to her as a trainer. Dmitry is a bot with a life. Cannot teach but lecture a monologue. Ervin and Christopher are great. Proper teachers to learn from. Would recommend some place else.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school! I successfully passed my exam on the first attempt. The instructors provide clear and concise explanations. Despite having 15 years of driving experience, I took two hours of personal lessons. It is important to set aside old driving habits and adapt to the rules specific to the United States. Simply follow the instructors' guidance carefully, and success is guaranteed. I sincerely thank the school staff for answering all my questions and offering assistance, as well as the instructors, Vitaliy and Viktor, for their professional support.

Fantastic experience: Passed my road test first try thanks to this place!! Some notes... If you are brand new to driving, it may be beneficial to book lots of lessons very close together. This is something one of their instructors, Keli Esteves, pointed out to me. When your lessons are spaced out far from each other, it can be hard to remember what you are being taught before you take your road test. She was very helpful and also told me to schedule my road test for 8AM as there is less traffic, making you less likely to fail the test. For your road test, if you schedule it for Saturday, they will schedule it with the RMV for you, which is very helpful. Towards the end I was taking lessons with Viktor Babenko and Vladimir Penek. They were both super helpful, Viktor was very nice and always made sure to let me know which direction to go, how to space my car for certain maneuvers, and made me practice the things you need to know for the road test many times so that I had it memorized. Vladimir was more stern, but for a very good reason: the way I was handling the wheel at first was not efficient for making quick adjustments when turning. He taught me how to properly handle the wheel as well as always making sure I was performing the necessary steps for the maneuvers they have you perform for the road test.

Negative experience: I took 15 hours of lessons with them. Before taking lessons here I’ve never driven ever. I was able to pass the road test on the first try. For that I give them 2 stars. However the teachers were hit or miss. I had different teachers for every lesson and i would only rec like 2 of them. Everyone else was rude, confusing, angry, and inappropriate. A lot of them would speak too quickly in a very thick accent, would speak too quietly/murmur to themselves, or just generally not speak English very well. Not being a great English speaker is fine, but I think to teach people how to drive, one should learn at least basic car/driving-related words in English. I can’t tell you the amount of times I had to tell an instructor that I can’t hear them or understand them. I had one instructor mumble instructions to me in another language the whole lesson and then get mad at **me** for not knowing what they’re saying. He’d repeat himself louder and more pissed off and wave his hands around like that helped at all. They also each had their own rules. One thing taught to me by one instructor was a no-go with another instructor and I’d get yelled at. Zero consistency. Some instructors would also tell me to straight up break the law lol like run red lights, speed through stop signs, or to speed through neighborhood streets. One of the more insane things that happened is I had an instructor have me pull into a Dunkin parking lot, park badly because he wasn’t bothering to teach me how to actually park, then get out of the car and go to Dunkin. He was at dunks for like 20 minutes. 20 minutes of a lesson I PAID FOR. I’ve also had an instructor have me drive back to their building and he disappeared inside for so long, that *another* instructor saw me sitting alone in the car and asked me what I was doing. I said I was waiting for my freaking instructor to come back and they had to go and get him!!! Like what?? All during a lesson I paid $$ for. I’d seriously recommend asking a friend or family member to teach you instead. Beg them if you have to…

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Brookline Driving School! The instructors here are professional and attentive, thoroughly covering all important aspects of driving. I especially want to highlight instructor Vladimir – thanks to his guidance, I passed my driving test on the first try. The school offers strong preparation for the driving test, and you can be confident in great results. Plus, you can always call to get complete information on any questions you have. This is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to learn to drive confidently and safely!

Negative experience: Sprained my ankle a week before my road test and was told that there is no way to reschedule despite paying appt in full. When going to my road test, the lady examining me was VERY RUDE and CONDESCENDING! Failing off of safety checks is a little funny despite passing the actual driving components

Fantastic experience: Took 10 lessons, with different instructors. I was most comfortable with Vladmir Penek. Staff was very helpful through out scheduling process

Negative experience: The Haitian lady that did my driving test clearly had an issue with me. She was very rude and curt and it’s unnecessary because it’s a road test not the bar exam but ya know ;) she seemed miserable

Fantastic experience: This school is very effective and efficient. I was able to pass the road test on the first try after 15 lessons with no previous driving experience because of them. For some people, instructors may seem not very nice sometimes. But you know what? You would better listen to them, and do what they tell regardless. Ask them questions, and accept their way of instruction. They know what they are doing, for sure, and it will save you time and money. I liked all the instructors (but Vladimir is the best).

Fantastic experience: Keli Esteves is the best instructor, from four classes I had, I never learned parallel park until she taught me. She explains very well she also understands the students nervousness, very polite. I learned a lot in one class with her!

Positive experience: I have a driver’s license from Portugal, but wanted to get my license here as well, so I did not need a lot of lessons since I have driving experience. I purchased one lesson and the instructor was honestly weird. He was impatient and made some weird comments, he then realized I was getting upset and annoyed and completely changed tone and started being normal and nice. He was also listening to the news (Donald trump speaking) on his phone, which was weird. But overall, it was fine. The driving test went well, passed the first time which is what I wanted. If the instructor is the right fit, it should be fine. I’m only giving 4 stars cause I passed quickly and that was my goal, but if it was for the instructor probably would be 2 stars.

Negative experience: I have had some very mixed bag experiences with the instructors, but today I had the instructor Inna Klimenko and she kept yelling, grabbing the wheel, and insulting me while I drove for 2 hours straight. She kept telling me she just wanted to go home and that she couldn't handle being in the car with me. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my life. If you get a lesson with her, reschedule. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with Bryan Brown and Christopher Mazara. They truly care about your improvement and ability to drive safely on the road.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK WITH KELI ESTEVES. She called to reschedule my 7am appointment at 7am, saying she was in Worcester and would arrive at 7:40. I agreed to do the lesson at 9am instead. However I should have rescheduled with a different instructor because she is an aggressive, impatient, racist instructor. She kept referring to me as Namaste because I'm a brown woman, instead of my first name which is on my permit she was given. Statements like "Hahaha, I know you Namaste people like to overthink", "Namaste, look at this paper", "Namaste, you’re not listening to me,” were made. When she wasn't bragging about her students or oversharing personal details, her tone and approach was unsafe, aggressive, and unbelievably irate. She forced another student to drive onto an island in an intersection for an ambulance in nonmoving traffic. When I called the school to make a complaint the owner Ilya insisted she didn't mean anything bad for her racist remarks and refused to give me a refund even though I did not learn anything useful and was instead triggered!!!!! Keli belongs in therapy or sensitivity training. - Namaste

Negative experience: Some instructors were great, but others were unprofessional. Yuriy was always very angry and berated me frequently, and I was afraid to be in a car with him. Victor was great right up until I failed the road test, and then he lectured me on how easy the test was and how I should have done better. He did apologize when he dropped me off, which is why I'm rating the company as a whole 2 stars and not 1. This school is a great choice if your instructor is a good fit, but I will be choosing another driving school going forward.

Negative experience: Instructor was great, but some people here mentioned there was racism and rudeness and it's completely right and it was my experience too in the road test, in my complaint I told them I was not expecting princess treatment but the bare minimum of respect!! Shame!

Maria Melero 1 year ago

Negative experience: The class I took before the road test was fine; the instructor was very nice. The road test, however, was horrible. I had to wait for more than an hour, which didn't help my nerves. The examiner was rude.

Positive experience: Scheduling was very easy thanks to Valentina. She went above and beyond to help us get lesson times that worked. She was always very pleasant and kind and helpful! The style of some instructors was not a great fit for my particular child, but the instructor Marybeth was fantastic with my teen and made him feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely satisfied with this school. Most of my lessons were done with Ervin since I specifically requested for all my lessons to be with him. I did about 10 hours behind the wheel instruction with him. He is such a kind man who is patient and takes the time to explain what you have done wrong/may not be understanding. He'd use pens to illustrate maneuvering parallel parking when I was having trouble visualizing the car's movement. He would also answer any of my questions with grace and with humor. Thanks to him, I passed my road test with Brookline Driving School on my first try (this was my 2nd ever road test, different location for the 1st one). Phone reception is also very quick, to the point, and kind. This may be one of the more expensive driving schools compared to others in the Boston metro area but they are so worth it. I'm very grateful for them.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my lessons with Brookline Driving School. It was easy for me to purchase lessons, the driving test, and the ability to use the car during the driving test. The woman who answers the phone was very nice and able to work with me and my changing schedules. They do book out a few weeks, but they were able to find days to fit all my lessons in two weeks. I was a little nervous about doing lessons in two weeks and scheduling the test right after, but it really helped to drive almost every day. My favorite driver was by far Viktor. He was kind, compassionate, funny, and made driving a lot easier to manage. He never made me feel dumb and always provided great instructions and advice. We went over the exact testing route every day, and by test day, I felt okay. I did not vibe with Antonio. He often told me to signal too late and would then lecture me about you need to signal at a certain distance. However, he was often telling me at the stop sign or intersection to turn a specific direction. He also kept saying "you go when I tell you to go," which seems odd to me because as the driver YOU are supposed to make that decision. Luckily, I only had 1 lesson with him. Regardless, everything from setting lessons, to scheduling, to the lessons itself, and the exam was great.

Negative experience: This morning, a young black female driving instructor had parked her Toyota Camery in a Reserved for HC Parking ONLY, and when I(I have a disability and a HC placard) went to park my vehicle at 1016 Beacon Street in Brookline, this black female instructor ignored me, and she continued to park the vehicle there, ignoring my commands to move her vehicle so I could park mine. Very unprofessional, especially from a driving instructor who is supposed to follow and obey the MV Traffic and Parking Laws. Next time, I'll have BPD come and issue a parking ticket for the violation.

Fantastic experience: I booked with Brookline as someone who has a European permit but wanted to gain experience in MA and prepare for the road test. The instructors all have their own style and some are more direct but all are great instructors giving advice and support. I was able to book a block of lessons and the road test in one go. Took a moment to get used to a style different from how I learnt in the UK (different instructors and driving the previous pupil home). Found the whole process of booking very organized and responsive for questions. I was able to pass my test first time comfortably thanks to Brookline.

Negative experience: I’ve bought 5 private lessons since I’ve had no experience at driving. They give you different cars and different teachers at every time which makes it pretty difficult to get used to. 4 of my 5 instructors’ communication skills were extremely lousy. I don’t care if their native language is not English but they were so angry every time I made a mistake which made me nervous. The other thing is lessons were always under an hour like 55 mins 57 mins etc. They are so rude that u are afraid to ask to practice few more mins til it’s an hour.I paid 435 dollars for 5 hours to learn the basic skills but ended up having more anxiety about driving. Can’t recommend at all. Go give your friends 20 dollars to practice and you’ll do better.

Negative experience: AVOID THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES EVER IN MY 5 YEARS BEING IN THE US. The instructor BORIS BARANOVSKY is a racist person and the whole driving lesson was spent on racial profiling and racial comments. I paid for a driving lesson and he did not teach me anything and was making fun of my driving. He should be removed from this position effective immediately. AVOID THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. Doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Positive experience: TLDR: Good driving school. The people at reception and some of the instructors may initially sound a bit rude but try not to take their remarks seriously and just go with it. There are some cultural/language differences. During your lesson, try to tell them initially what you want/expect. For example, you can ask them you want to practice more parallel parking. Overall, good experience. Their lesson and test slots get filled in advance. So better to start the process sooner and call them regularly to check if some slots got freed up. More slots are available on weekdays. Also, it's good to take test soon after you complete your driving lessons (in a week or so after your last lesson). My order of preference of instructors: (1) Marybeth Lensel > (2) Kuti Taulant > (3) Boris > (4) Erwin Zhuka > (5) Juri Prokes > (6) Maksim. ----- Longer version of the review: Good driving school. I did 14 hours in total with BDS. I had a few months of driving experience in India till 2015 and then I was driving for the first time in Nov 2023 with the school. Lesson 1 (1 hr, Nov 2023, with Erwin Zhuka): I felt confident driving and Erwin praised my driving and on-road awareness. I have experience biking on US roads. We practiced parallel parking and 3-point turn. But he did not comment if I should take the road test right away. I scheduled the road test with BDS for Jan 2024. Lesson 2 (2 hr, Dec 2023, with Maksim): Bad experience. Maksim told me I lacked control over the car. He used to apply brakes frequently while I am driving. We just drove for 2 hrs, no practice on parallel parking or 3-point turn or any other maneuvers. I felt very under-confident. Lesson 3 (1 hr, Jan 2024, with Kurti Taulant, on the day of first road test attempt): Kurti said I lack control over the car. I took the test. The examiner said I accelerated and braked hard, I lacked control over the car. I failed. I went ahead and booked 10 hr lessons with BDS, in 2-hour slots. Lesson 4 (2 hr, Feb 2024, with Boris): He reviewed my driving test sheet where my mistakes were marked. He made me practice on all kinds of roads, made me practice parallel parking, 3-point turns and all other maneuvers. He also showed me his sketches on parallel parking. My right turns used to be wide. He made me practice right turns. Lessons 5 and 6 (2 x 2hr, Feb-Mar 2024, with Juri Prokes): We mostly drove and practiced maneuvers. There were less talking, less remarks from the instructor. He did show me how to correct parallel parking or reversing if drifting away/towards the curb. One particular issue I had with Juri was he used to ask to turn left or right right when we used to enter the intersection. That was little terrifying. But later, I would ask him well in advance if we were going straight or turning. Lesson 7 (2 hr, Mar 2024, with Marybeth Lensel): This was the BEST lesson. Marybeth reviewed my driving test sheet and asked me what my expectations were. I told her my experience so far and told her I wanted to practice parallel parking. We did lots of parallel parking practice, behind all kinds of cars. Did lot of lane changing as well. She also told me if I don't feel comfortable at any intersection, I can just drive straight and revisit that intersection again. In the end, she told me I am ready for the road test. Lesson 8 (2 hr, Mar 2024, with Kurti): Kurti reviewed my driving test sheet (I took a lesson with him just before my first test). We practiced driving and maneuvers. He helped me fine-tune my driving. He told me he saw a big change/improvement in my driving from the last time. He now felt I was ready for the test. We stopped at a gas station and he bought me coffee as well. Second road test (Mar 2024): I take road test with BDS and passed. There was one street with lots of potholes. The examiner wanted me to drive very slowly on that street. But otherwise no comment. Thank you BDS! One comment: I would have liked all instructors to ask their students initially what they want/expect, like Marybeth does. That would be great!

Negative experience: Don't even want to give one star. The customer service is terrible. The receptionist has no patience at all during the scheduling of my lesson a week ago. Today I called again to check the car insurance before my lesson, and the lady even hung up on me. The RMV should investigate! I'm so glad she showed how bad the learning experience would be before I even started. I can't imagine how rude the instructors are. I requested a refund since I haven't taken any lessons yet; otherwise, I will lose my money according to their imparity clause. Be careful if you want to purchase the package! Today's details: I asked about the car insurance regarding the behind-the-wheel driving lesson. The lady told me to read the policy online, but there was nothing about it. Then she said the instructor will break if anything happened, but didn't confirm if any insurance would cover a car accident, which they should. She started to question my driving skill and suggested taking a regular class first, which I can understand and accept. But when I asked if I could use the hours I already paid to switch lessons, she just kept explaining something I already understood and lost all patience, starting to yell at me. I asked to talk to another person, then she just hung up. She didn't listen but blamed me for not listening to her (keep explaining the same thing), it was so funny and frustrating.

Fantastic experience: At the ripe old age of 28, I've finally obtained my driver's license thanks to BDS! I took a total of 10 hours of lessons with Marguerite, who is not only a joy of person to hang out with, but an excellent teacher. Initially, I was very nervous and unsure of myself, but Marguerite's encouragement and funny anecdotes made me feel a lot more relaxed on the roads. Scheduling lessons and the road test was also relatively easy. I appreciated that the road test took place on a Saturday and that it was at a convenient location (Brookline High). We went over the road test many times during my lessons so I felt well-prepared for the actual test. If you are a nervous on the roads, I recommend scheduling your lessons and road test earlier in the day to avoid heavy traffic. On the day of the road test, the owner of the school was present to give students last minute tips and to provide some much needed encouragement. I remembered him congratulating me warmly when I told him I passed. Some people ahead of me did not pass, but he painstakingly explained to them where they had gone wrong and encouraged them to keep practicing. Overall, I had a really good experience at BDS and highly recommend it to anyone who's learning how to drive!

Fantastic experience: Very professional operation, right from scheduling to road test. My wife and I took 6 hours of lessons (with prior driving experience in India) and cleared the road test in the first attempt. The staff genuinely care about students driving correctly (even outside the test requirements), but some of them are better instructors than others. I would recommend classes with Ilya, Jose, Kurti and Zacharie. Only negative is that you might have to wait a lot for your turn on the test day, so the timeslot you are given is not really an appointment. It was pretty much first-come first-served for us, but I understand that's not really in their control. Would highly recommend for both beginners and experienced drivers.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant experience here as an Irish Driver who wanted lessons to go out with some and build confidence driving on American road/ opposite side driving as well as test prep. Ervin was brilliant, I block booked with him in advance and did 5 lessons with him- highly highly recommend.

Negative experience: Your drivers (I know they're your drivers because there wasn't a passenger) are not fit or qualified to be on the road. One of your vehicles was pulling out in traffic without looking, turning without signals, going almost 20 UNDER the speed limit and stopping inappropriately in the middle of Commonwealth Ave near Washington today 11/22/23 at 11:25am Conduct a review of your employees or i will contact a state department to investigate your school.

Negative experience: I paid $330 for Road Test 2 hour Private Driving Lesson. Teacher he is gave me drive and pick up & drop off someone and then let me drive until 2 hours. He don’t teach me about part of the road test. So I have experience for drive 14 years, I know how to drive but he not mention and not give me practice about road test anymore. This program is worse. And I called the reception aske about the class drive the problem. But she not take responsibility and not get any details for the students, Also she hang up the phone when I ask her name. Very suck! . I think that any star isn't worth with this school.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with this driving school. Bought a 10 lesson hours and road test package, scheduling was seamless (albeit dated). Your experience will be heavily dictated by the driving instructors so I recommend reading through these reviews and book specific instructors. I had 4 different instructors and each one emphasized different parts of driving and the driving test. The driving school has a very “Eastern European” vibe. Don’t expect to babied and sweet talked. Western cultures tend to see that as being “cold”, which could explain some of the negative reviews.

Negative experience: Worst driving school. They are just making money. I would not recommend this stupid money making school to any one, most importantly, don't go for road exam with them. They fail you on purpose with silly reasons and tell you at the end to take more classes. They will pass you only if you take classes with them, no matter how experienced you are! I have seen a specific sponsor go into to the car for their students and pass them. I am not sure why RMV encourage such stupid way of road test. It's better take some time and go to RMV rather than this stupid school. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this school. I wish there is a negative star option. Follow up: It took a while to get an appointment at the RMV. Last week, I gave my road test and I passed. Examiner indeed commented as "Good Driving". I wish, I should have done this earlier. Only reason I chose this stupid school is because it is a weekend road test. I strongly recommend to go for RMV rather than this stupid school. At least, you will save your confidence and money if you fail.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend signing up for lessons at brookline driving school! I took all my lessons with Kurti and had the best experience. He teaches very well and cares about his students. He was very honest with me and directly told me what I needed to do to improve. I was able to pass my road test in one try :) the school does book up really fast so I suggest booking as soon as you know your availability in the coming months. I also recommend booking your test through them

Positive experience: Instructors are hit or miss, but I super recommend instructor Marybeth! She was warm in personality, positive, and culturally competent. She gave very clear instructions for parking and preparing me for the road test tomorrow, which helps to boost my confidence. She is an asset to this driving school!

Positive experience: I would highly recommend this driving school to any new and beginner drivers. My favorite instructors are Maksim, Viktor and Ervin! They were very kind, patient and very encouraging. They all gave me different advice on what and how I could improve. I felt very safe and calm while driving with them. Viktor was my very first driving instructor and the instructor I had the most. He was the my sponsor when I took the road test and thanks to his guidance during my lessons and his encouragement before the test, I was able to pass my road test on the first try. Additionally, while waiting to take the road test, Ilya stood outside with us, providing moral support and gave us advice on what to do and not do during the test. Overall, driving with these three instructors were very fun and stress free. Most of the instructors are great and I learned a ton of great things at this school. The staff is very kind, and even the receptionist lady that answer the phone was very efficient and helpful. Although be aware that there are bad instructors. Inna Klimenko is the worst instructors ever. If you have her for a driving lesson, reschedule as fast as you can. She is rude, always making snarky remarks, constantly pressing the break and she always grabs the wheel. She is not patient, her driving instructions are not clear, she gets mad very quickly, and she gives TERRIBLE driving advice (she told me that she could drive with 2 fingers). If you are a nervous beginner driver, she will make you hate driving even more. Not only that but she breaks the Brookline Driving School policies. She made me drop off an observer (a student who is under the age of 18 and apart of the drivers Ed course) at their house. I later learned from other instructors that it is against their school policies (they only pick up and drop off adult students in-front of their house). She is overall just an awful instructor.

Fantastic experience: I took several driving lessons right before my scheduled road test. I drove with different instructors each time(Viktor, Vitaly, Kurti, Hose, Maksim) and each explained their driving tricks in their own way. I believe, this is what really helped me a lot to pass the exam the first time. It was always easy to contact the school by phone for scheduling the lessons and road test. Instructors came to my address to pick me up and brought me back every time. The road test was well organized and a person from the school provided moral support and once again instructed what to do and not do on the road with the examiner. Thank you Brookline Driving school

Fantastic experience: I have a British license but hadn't driven regularly for a long while. I booked a 1.5 hour lesson and my road test through Brookline Driving School based on a recommendation. The lesson was very useful, alongside some reading, to learn the differences for driving the US compared to the UK, as well as how the test would run. The test was booked via BDS at Brookline High School - very smooth. I'd recommend starting the process ASAP if you're moving, as the wait time for each of the steps is quite long due to high demand.

Fantastic experience: My driving really improved in the 6 lessons. Each instructor I had focused on something different, which really helped me drive better. Kurti taught me a lot of tricks to driving in general. Viktor really helped me with speed regulation and Vitaly with general driving, too.

Negative experience: Never been to this place but one of staff is using the school’s vehicle along with 2 other people and clearly she needs the test since she almost hit me switching lanes. Check your mirrors next time and don’t give attitude while you’re representing your job. Nasty attitude and horrible drive. Again, never been to this place but even the staff don’t know how to drive …. Smh

Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience with Ms. Marguerite as my driving instructor! Thanks to her guidance and patient teaching, I was able to pass my road test. Her kindness and expertise truly set her apart. Ms. Marguerite is an outstanding teacher, and I highly recommend taking lessons with her through BDS to anyone looking to learn how to drive confidently and safely. Five stars all the way!

Fantastic experience: Took the entire Driver's Ed course package and had the instructor Ilya. It was great and very informative! Highly recommend this school. It makes the process of learning to drive much simpler, and honestly, easier.

Negative experience: If I could I would give a zero star! I did not have a class with this school and I only scheduled a road test and they were the worst I have ever seen in my life!!!! The person who was responsible to check in my documents did not check all my documents and did not noticed that I did not have permit licensce and I was there one hour ago. If he checked in properly, I did not miss my road test because I had enough time to print it somewhere else! They did not provide any facility for people we should have waited in a line outside while it was raining! and also they were closed so if we forget any documents there was not any place to print your document. They did not care about anything than money and they are not compassionate at all! I was not able to take my road test because I thought license permit is something different( I am international student here so I was not aware how it should look like) and then there was not any place to print it nor the proper people to guide me what exactly I should print. I schedule another road test with another driving school and I passed for the first time while Brookline always disappointed me that I am not ready and I will fail! In total they are not professional team and I do not recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test on June 24, 2023. I have had 30 hours of lessons with the Brookline Driving School with several instructors, but my absolute favorites were Kurti and Ervin! Once I got to know them, I booked most of my hours with them exclusively. Through their patience, great sense of humor and calm demeanor, they have helped me get over my anxiety of driving. Looking back at my learning process, I have retained very pleasant memories. It was fun and educational at the same time!

Fantastic experience: Passed my road test after 20 hrs of instruction. Had no prior driving experience. As long as you listen and learn, you'll be gucci. The road test itself is fairly easy as long as you stop and signal correctly. Instructors will be tough while teaching you. They will teach you how to drive amongst massholes, not just clear the test. If you're getting lessons try to get 1.5 hr sessions (as opposed to 1 hr sessions) so you can focus and master one thing per session. By default they'll schedule sessions with random instructors, and it's better that way. Each instructor is a different type of driver and helpful in their own way. If you drive fast, you need someone who'll beat bad habits out of you. If you drive slow, you need someone who can teach you to drive with confidence. If you suck at maneuvers you need someone who can help you master foolproof techniques. Marguerite, Jose, Kurti, Maksim, Boris are amazing instructors. Skip Inna, because she has a dark side and 99% of people will likely not enjoy her sense of humor.

Positive experience: I have never driven a car before enrolling BDS! Each class is mostly given by different instructors. I had a chance to drive with 6 or 7 instructors and Kurti and Ervin are the best instructors. If you have never deiven before try to schedule lessons with them, they are so patient and tell you everything in a good manner. They do not panick you while driving and always give you infos about road rest. I can tell that they truly do love their job. I would not reccommend other instructors since some of them are rude and freak you out!

Fantastic experience: Kurti was my teacher and I appreciate him a lot.He takes care about every single detail.I took just one lesson from school and passed exam easily.Even after I passed the exam he called me and asked if I passed the exam.Wonderful teacher.Recommend 100%!

Positive experience: Inna is absolutely insufferable. Her constant berating and grabbing of the wheel during the lesson almost made me pull over and leave early. She is completely controlling of the wheel and break and will straight up insult her students. She complained about wanting to go home multiple times during my lesson. I have never seen such unprofessionalism. I recommend anyone scheduled with her to reschedule your lesson; anyone else would be better. Kurti, Jiri, and Yuriy are all very helpful.

Fantastic experience: BDS has done exactly what was advertised and have gone above and beyond in many cases. ("Try us and you will see the difference") Although I came in with low expectations, I was truly blown away by the courtesy, patience and professionalism of the driving instructors and general staff. Coming in with no prior driving knowledge, BDS took me under their wing and had me ace my driving test in just about 3 months. (First time) Kurti, Lilya, Boris, Erwin, Maxsim, Ilya, Marjorie, Inna, Vitaly himself, and the rest of the driving school staff have gone above and beyond, and actually made me miss my days in those Toyotas. If you are deciding whether to chose this driving school, my answer would be nothing short of DO IT! Maintaining great communication with me throughout my entire time enrolled there, the school has certainly come a long way from some of the negative reviews I have seen, and I guarantee that you won't be disappointed with your results!

Negative experience: Some of the instructors are very impatient and rude. Being a brand new driver, I didn’t appreciate the extra pressure on top of what is already a naturally stressful learning experience.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school. I was a beginner, knowing nothing about driving at first. Booked 10 hours of private driving lessons with Kurti and added five more hours later. I just had my road test this morning, and I PASSED IMMEDIATELY in my first attempt. I had no issue with parallel parking or 3 point turn. Everything went so smoothly, as Kurti had taught me all the minor details and tips. He is the best instructor ever! I wouldn’t have made it today without him. Highly highly recommend booking lessons with Kurti. He will not just make you pass the road test but prepare you to be a safe driver on the road.

Fantastic experience: I mostly drove with Jose for my driving lessons, and he really helped me gain confidence with being on the road. Jose was very kind and funny, and would be very respectful of my time on the road. I highly recommend trying to get Jose with lessons if possible. I passed my road test from here too, and the person who checks you in for the road test is also very kind and funny

Ray Perkins 2 years ago

Negative experience: I was misled by the good reviews and have found this a disappointing experience. Multiple drivers teaching methods involve berating the student and have a tendency to take the wheel which is incredibly distracting (I have never had anyone overtake the wheel at my current driving school not I have been berated only corrected in a much more polite way). I had one instructor admit to me that she only drove with two fingers, not a method I would recommend for new beginners. Since finding a much better driving school, I feel more confident driving and wish I had chosen them from the beginning.

Fantastic experience: I am an adult learner who is highly anxious when it comes to driving. I never thought I would pass my driving test in one go, but Kurti made it possible. I initially enrolled for the 10 hour lessons, but after observing me he suggested I should take a few more additional lessons so I am confident to sit for my test. I took his advice and prepared accordingly. We worked on my driving skills as well as parallel parking and other skills you need to pass the test. Kurti was extremely patient and helped me improve on my weaknesses. Before my driving test, I took two hours of lessons with Vitaly and Ervine and both of them were patient to guide me on pulling over on the side of the road, turning and parking. Im grateful to Brookline Driving School, and my instructors, without their guidance I wouldn’t have passed the test!!

Fantastic experience: This school actually saved me. I really owe it to Kurti to teach me the right driving techniques and give me the confidence to pass my road test. I highly recommend. And the course is way less stressful than the Boston RMV one.

Fantastic experience: Loved my time at the Brookline Driving School. They have some really fantastic instructors, are professional, and are very invested in you passing the road test. Big shoutout to Kurti and his fail-safe parallel parking strategy and Dmitry who pushes you to try new/busier roads once you’re ready. Additionally, the woman who answers the phone has been extremely helpful and very efficient with me when I call in. Some tips for success: 1. The school is extremely busy. Buy lessons in bulk and schedule them all 4-5 weeks in advance so you end up with a consistent schedule. Waiting to schedule week-of will leave without a lesson at all 2. Each instructor has their own favourite method of parallel parking. Try the different methods and pick the one that works for you, and, if you get a different instructor, tell them the method you’re following so you don’t get confused with all the different strategies. 3. Book a lesson as close as possible to the day of your road test with your favourite instructor. They’ll have you practice in the same neighbourhood the test takes place in (so long as you’re Taking the test with the school). I will be back for highway lessons now that I have my license!

Fantastic experience: I truly appreciate Brookline Driving School and would suggest it to anybody. Kurti is a fantastic instructor who guaranteed that each driving lesson was stress-free and that all of my mistakes, no matter how minor, were corrected. I recommend scheduling your driving lessons with Kurti if you are anxious about driving and want to laugh. He helped me pass my road test this morning. While it's true that Kurti is my favorite instructor, I am certain that you will enjoy your lessons with any instructor.

Positive experience: I really like the experience that I had with brookline driving school. Lili is very knowledgeable and helpful. As administrative, she really understood my needs and directed me to the right instructor. I had 11 lessons with Ervin and 3 with other instructors. Ervin is a great instructor. He uses every second of your time to teach you and he is a very calm person and he will practice very well for your exam.He helps you to learn to drive safely and right. He gave me confidence for driving. I learnt driving with him in a way that I never expected. He is very patient with your learning process and he does his best to make it an excellent experience for you. I highly recommend him. I had 1 session with Jose. He is good, too and if you take every 10 sessions with him, he will teach you with structured formula to drive. I recommend him as well. I give 4 stars because I had a bad experience with the other 2 instructors. One of them cut 15 minutes from my time while he was in his phone outside of his car and even didn’t practice one time parallel park or 3 point, just driving. The other instructor was very angry and she was recommending to pass the crosswalk even if there is a pedestrian (if the light is green), while it is very dangerous to teach like this to teenagers, because it can cause casualties in the future. Overall, I recommend this driving school if you know who you’re going to have as your instructor.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended driving school. I took some driving lessons at a different school near me and had failed 2 times. My friend recommended this school to me and I decided to take classes here even though it's far away. Thanks to the school and my instructor, I passed. I took all of my lessons with instructor Kurti. He patiently explains everything that you need to pass the road test, over and over so that you remember w/o even have to study them. While practicing with him, he will pay attention to your weak and strong points and comes up with a best strategy to practice with you. I also like that on the day of the road test, there will be someone from the school who reminds you all the important points by going over them. I think the most special thing that the school and instructor Kurti have offered me is showing that they care, and that made all the difference.

Positive experience: My instructor was super cool and patient to tolerate mistakes. He was really good at teaching rules and basics to pass the road test. Although I had previous driving experience but not in USA so it was a good driving lesson for me that helped me passing the road test. I took 5 hour driving lesson plus road test package however, it completely depends on your driving experience and skills. During driving lessons, they will pick and drop you from your location. But after you complete the road test, they will just leave you at RMV on your own, lol (I thought he will drop me same as during the driving lessons). Overall, this driving school is great to learn driving and pass the road test.

Fantastic experience: This driving school has helped me gain confidence in driving. I took the first lesson from another school which was not a good experience. I started feeling underconfident and was thinking to drop the idea of learning to drive. But when I started driving with this school it was an awesome experience. I did not have any previous driving experience. So I learned from the basics. All of the driving instructors are good. Especially Kurti Taulant, Maksim Piartsouski, and Jose Montiel Briceno are awesome. Kurti is very sweet and has lots of patience. Besides, he gave me mental support not to get tense on the road test day. I think that is the key to passing the road test. It has been a wonderful journey and experience in learning to drive. If google would have more than 5 stars, I could give that. Thank you so much for all the support and inspiration.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Brookline Driving School. I took 17 hours of lessons (with ~5 hours of outside practice with family/friends) and passed the road test on my first attempt. All in, it took me 5 months from my first lesson to passing the road test. I had Kurti most often and found him to be particularly helpful. All of the instructors provide useful advice and specific feedback.

Positive experience: I had 5 private classes with Taulat Kurti during December and January. he was really patient and polite. since I am not an English native, he tried to speak slowly to help me to understand. During the class he did not mad about my mistake, however, he try to explain my mistake and help to fix it. I really recommend taking driving lessons with him. Mary

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Brookline Driving School! So far i am absolutely satisfied with experience with some classes. After only 2 private lessons with Victor and Maksim I feel much more confident on the road as a driver. They really care about you improving your driving skills and being safe. I am having my road test in a couple of days so I also booked some more classes to be fully prepared. Also customer service is great and people who work there are super friendly and willing to help!

Fantastic experience: I had zero driving experience before taking lessons with Brookline Driving School, I took 19.5 hours with them, I didn’t practice driving, I just took the lessons with them and passed the road test today 12/31/2022 on the first attempt. I had lessons with many instructors, they were all professional and helpful. If you feel anxious about driving and prefer a calm instructor, I recommend Ervin, Kurti and Mark, not that other instructors were any less capable, but these three were the calmest of the ones I had lessons with. The customer service is great, they helped me book last minute lessons the day before and day of my road test to make sure I have the best chance at passing the road test. All the instructors really care to teach you how to drive safely and how to pass the test. Shoutout to Zachary who I took many lessons with, and Vitaly for calling the school and asking them to find last minute lesson for me to practice more before the test. Thank you BDS

Fantastic experience: Brookline Driving School was great and very efficient! They were also very accommodating. I booked 30 hours since I had never driven before. Most of my lessons were with Maksim, Viktor and Kurti! Maksim is a wonderful instructor, really calm and patient! I had a bit of trouble figuring out what to do if I parked too far/hit the curb when parallel parking and he took the time to really make sure that I understood what to do and the process behind it. I would definitely recommend him!! He was also a really nice person and pleasant to drive with! Viktor was also really great!! Most of my lessons with him were during my last week and he really gave me useful tips of what to expect on the driving test! We practiced the same route over and over again. He made me feel comfortable and ready for the test! Kurti was also amazing!! He was really patient with me and took the time to make sure that I felt confident before my exam. I also really loved that for our last session (which was the day before my test), he asked what I was most worried about and we really focused on those things! I also really appreciated that the day of the exam he showed up and was really supportive and warm. I’d also recommend Kurti!! A shoutout to Vitaly as well! All great instructors and good people! Thank you so much again!! I’m so happy I passed the exam on the first try!!!

Fantastic experience: The instructor Kurti is excellent. He is so patient, even if you are an absolute beginner. He teaches you every step with patience and clear explanation. He will comfort you while you are nervous and before your driving test. He is an excellent instructor who solves your problems in challenging situations. I indeed recommend you book lessons with him for all your classes. He will instruct you based on your strength and weakness and give you the skills you need as an independent driver. I am commenting with a genuine voice, and please book lessons with him because he is the best instructor.

Fantastic experience: If you joining Brookline Driving School please ask for Kurti as your driving instructor. He is the best. Apart from training for you for the driving test he will make sure you are a good and safe driver on the road. Thanks to Kurti sir for the driving lessons and giving that confidence and calmness before the test. Highly appreciated. Thanks

Fantastic experience: First, I really want to thank Brookline Driving School for sponsoring my road test, which I truly believe I was able to pass with the help and support of my instructor KURTI who was the absolute best! If you are to take a course here, I would 1000% recommend KURTI. He was such an amazing instructor who was able to meet me where I was at and get me where I needed to be in order to pass my road test earlier this morning. I took almost all of my lessons with KURTI and her was very supportive and direct, and truly great balance of both. I would also like to shoutout ERVIN and MAKSIM who I was able to take lessons with that were also really great and helpful in preparing me in my last week! But this is a really great driving school, and one I’d even recommend to close family and friends.

Fantastic experience: I did pass the road test in my first attempt, thanks to the great instructor KURTI at Brookline Driving School. I took some lessons with several instructors, but he is the best. He taught me politely. His way of teaching is excellent!! He explained and taught me everything what I needed. I highly recommend to take KURTI’s driving lessons at Brookline Driving School.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this driving school, whether t you are a new or moderately skilled driver. They have variety of options for classes. They are also very efficient with booking a road test through them. I took many lessons with Kurti, and he is the best. He is so kind and patient, and he gives great technical advices, which I used during my road test. I would plan ahead of time if you want to book with him, since many students want to take lessons with him!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Brookline Driving School to any new driver, especially if you are a nervous driver. I worked with Kurti over several days before my road test to strengthen my skills- I started out incredibly nervous but his gentle and very informative approach helped ease my worries and gain the confidence I needed to pass my road test. I worked with Vitali as well, he is an incredibly knowledgeable instructor and helped better my driving as a whole. Thank you Brookline Driving School, Kurti, Vitali, and Ilya!

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Brookline Driving School to anyone looking to understand the road and learn how to be a safe driver. I started driving school during the pandemic but I’ve been able to schedule my lessons and road test. Considering how much it takes for a first time driver to get their license, they streamline the process and give you a lot of support. The instructors were attentive and amazing. They truly believe you can drive and they don’t want you to fail. They want you to understand the rules of the road and your role on the road as a safe driver. Kurti & Zachary are amazing teachers, personable, calm, and patient. I felt confident enough to go for it and pass my road test the first time. They matched my dedication with their expertise and it made for a good learning & driving experience. Anyone with any level of experience can become a better driver at BDS. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I was terrified of driving and very nervous during the lessons. Kurti was great at teaching me how to drive safe, and I not only passed the road test on my first try, but I'm driving my two young kids confidently around Boston. I'm very happy with my experience.

Fantastic experience: I had both Marguerite and Kurti as driving instructors. I only had Marguerite for a few sessions, she is really fun to drive with especially if you are nervous. The majority of my lessons were with Kurti. I learned a lot from him. He made parallel parking super easy! He also taught me how to make adjustments if you are too close or too far. He made it really easy! I definitely recommend this school!

Fantastic experience: I had such a pleasant experience with BDS. I knew how to drive but was lacking the 100% confidence and Kurti was very helpful and patient to make sure I got to that level. I passed my exam on the first attempt and was very confident based on the 2 lessons I took. Kurti is the best instructor and really focuses on making sure that you have all the skills you need to pass. I regret not taking lessons with BDS sooner. I will definitely recommend BDS to anyone who asks me about driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: I took lessons with several instructors from different schools and Vitaly from Brookline Driving School was by far the best one. He explains everything very well and is also a really nice person. I had already booked my exam with another school before my lesson with Vitaly. Compared to the students of the other school, I took half of the lessons they took and still was the only one that passed the exam (out of 5). I can very much recommend the Brookline driving school. Some of the students of the other school told me they had never heard of certain things that the examiners look for and failed because of that --- Vitaly had told me all of these things and I only passed because of that.

Fantastic experience: I would 100% recommend taking classes with Brookline Driving School, especially if you are learning to drive for the first time, like I was. I had initially booked for 5 hours or so and even booked my road test through them, thinking that would be enough. However, I have to specially mention Kurti who is an excellent teacher and honest with his opinions. He was straightforward about my need for more practice and I am so glad I took his advice! I rescheduled my test, and booked more practice hours with them. Kurti’s teaching approach is very unique and he takes the time to focus on the skills he knows needs work. He is friendly but firm and repeats everything for you until it stays in your mind. I began with no idea about driving and ended up passing my test on the first try! His hard work, enthusiasm and encouragement helped me sail through my test. Take note of the tips he gives you, they are especially useful! I would strongly suggest that if you want to take the test, book a class with Kurti/ Brookline driving and gauge how much practice you might need. Then book the number of hours he recommends and only then book the road test! I plan to also take extra lessons to practice on the highway now! Thank you Kurti, I will “remember to respect the road rules” and turn the wheel “all the way”! Lastly, Brookline Driving school has an easy to use student portal and the people I spoke to on the phone were super helpful whenever I called with queries or when I needed to reschedule classes. A Wonderful experience! Five stars for sure!

Fantastic experience: Took a 90 minute lesson with Kurti and passed my road test in the first try! He was very experienced and taught me very well after not driving for 2 months. I learned not only how to pass my road test but also general road awareness and safety as a new driver. Ilya, Keli, Ervin were also so kind and helpful instructors at the school during the summer.

Ahmani Dardy 3 years ago

Negative experience: Very disappointed in my experience. During my road test I did everything perfectly, which even the sponsor agreed, but was failed because the sponsor asked me which way do I turn my wheel if parking on a hill and I could not answer because at the driving school I went to (I did not take lessons at Brookline, I just took the road test there. I took lessons at a different driving school) they did not teach me. I could tell the sponsor did not want to fail me because he knew I did great, I just could not answer ONE question. I understand that it is apart of their job to make sure people know everything but, it’s not like they physically made me park on a hill and I couldn’t. He literally just ASKED me which way to turn my wheel if parking on a hill so if it were something that I physically had to do and couldn’t, okay I would understand the fail but for something that I didn’t even actually had to do, just answer a question about it I feel as though I should have passed. Everything that I ACTUALLY had to physically do (hand signals, turns, parallel parking, 3-point turn, backing up 50 feet, entering intersections) I did perfectly. I should not have failed my road test because of one question I could not answer.

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test two days ago after working with Kurti Taulant for ~ 20 hours! He was my only instructor the whole time, and I had such a positive experience with him. Before Brookline Driving School and Kurti’s help, I had no experience behind the wheel and I am in my late 20s. I had the worst anxiety and fear of driving and avoided anything related to cars until now, but Kurti gave me so much confidence and courage to drive. Now I am very proud to say that I can drive on the road, and I am very proud of this accomplishment and thankful for all my lessons with Kurti. This feels amazing! Highly recommend Brookline Driving School and Kurti as the instructor.

Fantastic experience: After taking 9 classes from the Brooklyn driving school, I passed the road test. The school very well prepares the students for the road test. The most helpful instructor was Taulant, Kurti who taught me the rules and the steps of parallel parking correction very clearly. I couldn't have done it without the school and recommend everyone to apply for the school before taking the Class D road test. Grace
