Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about Jordan Driving School, Inc.:

Jordan Driving School, Inc. offers driver education courses primarily through Wake County schools, but reviews indicate a mixed experience among its clients. Many parents have expressed frustration with the long wait times for behind-the-wheel training and communication issues with the staff.

Despite these challenges, some instructors, particularly Coach Epps and Mrs. Brockington, have received positive feedback for their teaching methods:

  • Positive Instructor Experiences: Several users highlighted the exceptional teaching skills of instructors like Coach Epps, who helped students feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel.
  • Thorough and Supportive: Students have praised the calm demeanor of some instructors, allowing for a more relaxed learning environment.
  • Focus on Safety: Many instructors emphasize safety and teaching important driving skills effectively.

However, it’s crucial to note that many users have reported issues surrounding:

  • Long Wait Times: Families often face delays of six months or more before their students can complete the behind-the-wheel portion of the program.
  • Poor Customer Service: Numerous clients have voiced concerns about the unhelpful responses they received when trying to navigate the enrollment process or resolve issues.
  • Organization Problems: Many reviews reflect a lack of systematic practices, causing stress and confusion for both parents and students.

Overall, while there are noteworthy instructors at Jordan Driving School, the general consensus suggests that prospective students consider private options for more efficient and personalized training.

Negative experience: It's evident they have NO competition when it comes to getting drivers ed through Wake County schools. From start to finish the process was a nightmare. When I confronted my kids behind-the-wheel instructor today for yelling at my kid and shaming his rather than supporting him, he couldn't have cared less. His response: "I'm not going to get into it with you. Call Jordan and complain." He knows they won't do anything to him.

Negative experience: My son completed the classroom part of the summer at Garner high School. Apparently they are 6 months behind for the behind the wheel training. I called Jordan driving School to see where my son's place in line was and there was no help at all. Bad customer service lack of communication.

Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS This might be one of the worst driving schools ever made. You have to wait ages for behind the wheel. Not to mention their absolutely terrible driver's ed program where they took away all my time, 3 hours a day, and did nothing but bring my grades down. Now the ridiculous part is behind the wheel. Not to mention names but my instructor was terrible, he thought he worked for the FBI when he got paid 10 bucks an hour. He yells at me on the top of his lungs right in my ear every day. Think about this, it's your second day ever of driving, you're going 70 miles an hour down a freeway, and your instructor is yelling at your ear when you turn on the turn signal 3 seconds too early. How is that not a hazard?! Not to mention they do everything but teach. How'd y'all even get licensed to teach?! I can find a random guy from the streets and he would teach better. No wonder y'all got fired from our school. In conclusion, YOUR WASTING MONEY.

Fantastic experience: Coach Epps Heritage Highschool. Coach Epps was an amazing driving instructor. He explained little details of driving and helped give us confidence to be out on the road. I had an amazing experience, 5/5.

Negative experience: What can I say that is positive about Jordan's driving school, in all truth, I cannot speak in good conscious on this school and the process that a parent has to go through just to get your child into the driving course. Let me first say that the group, they have are not as helpful as they give the impression. I've tried several times in several incidents. To try to get my child enrolled into the class and each time I am met with a negative and poor response. The process is horrible, as an IT professional, I can clearly tell that there system is not set in the best standing for the customer. As a customer asking for added support, and this time when the classes are clearly set so they can be overbooked, which is not at the benefit of the customer but have their benefit and their price point. That's unacceptable, then to call in and try to get support is practically impossible. And when you do, you get somebody to be met with rudeness, attitude, communication as well as to be treated as a number, give little to perception of being a organization looking to make sure that the parent and the child have a great experience. I was told to contact the instructors to see if you can be put on the waiting list as I was redirect to do it in a rude fashion after not being able to get in. The instructor, very cool email and abruptly said there's no space and you will need to be put on the waiting list for my children, who is a Wake forest high school student. And since that time I've tried to get in on the Saturday schedule and has been met with the same type of demeanor and attitude from the Saturday instructor. To add insult to injury, I was informed to the try for the spring and/or summer session. Now, mind you, I've been trying all this past summer and fall to get my child in. I was impolitely told if unable to I can always just go to a private drivers Educational group. Mind you, they understand that they have foot hold on market on getting the child in as they are affiliated with the Wake county school system. And the way they indicated, they made it seem if you don't like it you can go pay for it somewhere else. Getting to learn how to drive is a quiet rite of passage for children and in some cases, a necessity to help their family in case of family hardship. It is clear that Jordan driving school does not see that at all. They see is the money and I'm concerned, because for those who are not as financially capable of spending the money for a private drivers, school and Jordan is the only resource. This makes me think that Jordan driving school cares not about the child or the family, only about the bottom line money and their contract with wake county school system.

Negative experience: I can not recommend enough for you to look elsewhere. We took the course based out of Fuquay High School. It took over 9 months from the initial drivers ed course to the behind the wheel portion. The entire process is a disorganized mess and the instructor only gives you a days notice and if you arent able to commit for the full 3 days at that time, you get put back into the queue and hope for a call the next week. The instructor herself was beyond disrespectful and rambled on to our teenager about her personal political beliefs and conspiracy theories and had no place in teaching the student about driving techniques. The only upside is that we know now to enroll our next child in a different company when they are ready to drive.

Negative experience: Guys, if you can get private driving lessons do so. Jordan‘s driving school is horrible. The only thing they did was learn my son the route to Bojangles. He didn’t get good experience behind the wheel so now I am having to pay a private company to give him more driving lessons. the driving was only six hours Monday through Thursday one week only.

Fantastic experience: My son just finished driving with Ms. Paula Jackson and she was amazing with him. I appreciate her patience, honesty, and care because she truly does care about the kids safety behind the wheel. I am so happy that she was our instructor and I would give her more stars if I could. My son feels confident about taking his driving test soon and it's all because of Ms. Paula.

Negative experience: After paying for lessons and my son taking their driving course, we’re told he also needs to train behind the wheel and that won’t happen for 6 months. They also state if you try to go for the permit using a different route it will push things back, so we must wait on them. Inform your customers in advance so we have the option of going elsewhere.

Negative experience: If you can afford to do private driving , skip Jordan and go the private route. They are backed up 6 months on driving right now, it's ridiculous. I'm baffled that they can continue to operate as the only driving school for WCPSS and be this unorganized. Private has kids on the road in 3-4 weeks and my daughter was on I-40 day 1, they are getting real driving skills .

Negative experience: They are supposed open enrollments midnight now and the site is not responding for the last 20 min...:) what a silly scam. Don't waste your time for them, there are many better schools around. Let these guys live with their cheap stuff and even their website is dead!

Negative experience: I payed for it through my highschool but they never sent me the email for when to attend. I was enrolled but never told to go. When my family complained about it, they did nothing about the $60 we payed. Customer service is atrocious and unhelpful. This happened a few years ago they never sent the money back.

Negative experience: WORST driving school EVER! It's such a monopoly! They have a contract with all public schoos in Wake County and are so far behind it is taking over six months for the students to get behind the wheel. When you try to do the behind the wheel portion with another driving school, they delay processing paperwork despite having everything they need to expeite getting one student off their books. I have nothing good to say about them and hope and pray parents who.want their children to drive in timely manner consider private driving schools. manner consider private driving schools.

Fantastic experience: I had coach Owens and he was a really great instructor. He made sure I was comfortable and even lightened up the mood on my first day when I was very nervous. Going to these lessons helped me improve a lot by the third day and I feel much more comfortable sitting behind the wheel thanks to him!

Negative experience: I typically don't do this. But the private instructor - Ms. B was so bad in teaching driving to my daughter. Here's some examples. 1. Ms. B keep asking my daughter stay closer to the steering wheel. We understand she’s not tall like adult (she is 5 ft 4 in) and staying closer to the steering wheel can enable her see more over upfront dashboard. But it’s unnecessary to leave no space between body and steering wheel which she keep asking my daughter do. 2. The seat back is adjusted barely have 90 degree, instead that back of the seat push my daughter bend forward, and my daughter is not allowed to adjust. Ms. B also put a couple pad under her so she need to work hard to maintain her balance while driving. This is like a 3 hours torture. 3. What even worse is, Ms. B always teach my daughter with attitude. I didn’t understand why she need to do that. A. Today my daughter asked a silly question, she knows many people drive like +5 miles above the speed limit. She asked Ms. B if that’s typical and ok? She received long time insulting from Ms. B. Ms. B was yelling to her, and said if you learn this from your parent or family, your family made big mistake and that’s crime. B. There’s another time my daughter driving on the road and saw yellow light, then my daughter stopped at crossing, and asked Ms. B if this is correct behavior. Instead of acknowledging good behavior, Ms. B insulted her again, she’s like ‘You don’t need to talk about it to me, etc etc.’ C. Sometimes, her teaching is even wrong. She always asked my daughter to leave 1.5~2 car length space when stopping behind any other vehicle. Is this normal behavior in NC? I don’t think so. My daughter was kept being blamed because she stayed like one car away from the other car like other people on the road. This space coaching is so wrong. A coach doesn’t leave her real name to people, you can learn something from it. Stay away from such instructor.

Negative experience: My son have a instructor Ingram that he say is always on his phone. Do not pay any attention to what’s being done. As I was trying to talk to him he didn’t listen just over talked my child and I. And this is who y’all want teaching kids everybody is not for everybody and he I find disrespectful. I feel you guys just took his father money

Negative experience: Very unprofessional, un organized and rude. My son started on line class the beginning of the school year. Teacher was rude, short with students she went so far as to tell a student “ just cause your parents are Rich doesn’t mean you can interrupt “ why say that? Where is the professionalism? I do not recommend this place at all. Save the frustration and go else where

Fantastic experience: I had Coach Epps as my instructor. He is very calm and really good at teaching all the things you need to know about the car before actually driving. He went at my pace and never yelled. He made sure I was comfortable/ready to drive and kept a conversation going that way there wasn't just silence in the car. Overall he is a really good teacher and I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I had Coach Epps as my private instructor. At first I was really nervous to go on the road, but Coach Epps made sure I was comfortable and ready. He is an incredible instructor and I really recommend him! He gave me lots of tips on remembering things like “blessing the car”. He is also very calm and reassuring and i’m glad because my anxiety was getting the best of me sometimes. Anyways, if you get a private instruction ask for Coach Epps!

Negative experience: This school is a money maker for them and a disservice to NC. All 3 of my kids were 17 before they got their licenses because this school is disorganized, poorly staffed, and uncaring. William Powell, who answered one of our phone calls, was rude, condescending, and behaved like our concerns were of little value. This is because he knows that Jordan driving is the only route to a license in this state, unless you want to pay more on top of what taxes have already paid for. Staff like Mr. Powell make the process far more stressful and difficult than it should be. Save your time and pay for a private driving school!

Fantastic experience: I did a private driving session with Coach Epps and it was amazing! He is super thorough in all the checks and fully prepared me for my driving test. He made me feel comfortable and went at my pace. He never yelled at me and was super patient. He also kept a conversation going so it wasn’t too awkward in the car. I know to bless the car, say something about the headrest, check my tires, oh and stop at the stop sign. Who knew right? He is a great teacher, totally worth it.

Fantastic experience: Jordan Driving school was very professional and there was great communication start To finish! Susanna was awesome in getting my son all set up to take the virtual class. Talia was a wonderful instructor and ensured that my student learned all that was needed to successfully pass the written test. Coach Epps was my son’s driving instructor. He communicated all of the pertinent information before my son was to drive. He also reminded us the night before the driving portion. In addition to meeting with us before each driving lesson to review what would be taught, he also met with us after the driving lesson to give us a progress report. He was very courteous and on time. He delivered on all of his promises and taught my son well!!! Thanks to all of you!!!! Thanks to Jordan School for hiring such high caliber professional people!!!

Fantastic experience: I had Mrs. Brockington from Green Hope High school. Although the driving seemed intimidating from the beginning, Mrs. Brockington slowly went through the process and mindset someone should have, which helped me calm down and perform normally. She enforces safety heavily with covid around by cleaning the car, seat, wheel and anywhere the driver touches.

Negative experience: Hate to sound dramatic but my daughter was traumatized by her experience with her driving instructor. It took a year for her to want to really start practicing. Even getting her permit made her anxious. I should have taken her out and blame myself now. I initially thought she was being overly nervous and sensitive. She cried every day during when I picked her up. The instructor is mentioned specifically in comments here and is still very active for Cary High students. I'm finally writing because I recently found out that my neighbor had the same experience with her son. He also now has no desire to drive and is overly anxious about the thought of it. This instructor belittles the student and is loud and rude. He is not fit to instruct students that are brand new to driving and feeling anxious.

Positive experience: My driving Instructor Mr.Price was amazing, he was really patient and made sure I understood everything I was doing. He was also really funny which made me more comfortable. The only down side was how long it took me to actually get behind the wheel after the classroom portion. I finished the class August 2nd and didn’t drive until December 5th.

Caspian Delane 5 years ago

Negative experience: Process was literally complex and difficult. I completely the classroom portion in another school. Trying to complete the paperwork and get the process going. Ended up going to a independent school instead. Staff were difficult and uncooperative. I spent the last 3 months trying to get set up with an instructor, given I already completed the classroom portion elsewhere. Today I went to and independent school and I'm already scheduled for the BTW course. But this school is being difficult with releasing the paperwork I gave them. It's a ridiculously long and complex process. Not a huge fan. If you only need the 6 hours of BTW. Just go to an independent school.

Fantastic experience: Our 14-year old appreciated Mr. Stanley Wright very much. As a driver's ed instructor, Mr. Wright was friendly and calm. He told the two students what they were doing right and if a mistake happened, he accepted it, told them what it was, and how to do it better on the next try. If he had to give an instruction such as "slow down" he always used a relaxed voice, even if he had to repeat it, never making someone anxious, never shouting. He turned and spoke to both students so even if you weren't behind the wheel you could be learning. He has had many years of experience in NJ as a driving instructor and we are glad he came to NC this year. Our student's paperwork was complete and in hand at the last lesson. And, the lessons were all conveniently timed in the evenings, after sport practices. This also gave the students a great supervised night driving experience.

Fantastic experience: I attend Heritage High School and my driver was Coach Epps. The instructing is great, he helps develop crucial and extremely useful habits. When I was tired and dozing off in the back of the car while the other driver was driving, he was very cordial and nice about it but gave me the truth that if it kept happening I wouldn’t receive my certificate for completing the class which he handled very well. Overall whereas I started very scared and uncomfortable with driving, I have become comfortable driving and am enjoying it at the same time.

Fantastic experience: My instructor was Maurice Frink, and I attend Thales Academy in Rolesville, NC. Mr.Frink was very kind, polite, and patient. I was very nervous about doing the Behind The Wheel training, but he was very good at calming my nerves. He was very helpful with learning and correcting my mistakes in a constructive way. I really have enjoyed my class with Mr.Frink and 100% recommend this class! just a tip, don’t fall asleep in the back seat and don’t be on your phone! make sure to mute it.

Fantastic experience: I took Driver's Ed with Mr. Steinback at Millbrook High school, he was patient but told me what I was doing wrong. He also reassured me that I was doing a good job. For that he deserves 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I had coach Robison at panther creek for behind the wheel where I was a little uncomfortable as we started but as we got further into the lesson I felt more comfortable to become a safe driver and comfortable enough on the road . Coach was literally the best and so supportive for me to learn from and catch many extra tips and more knowledge than I expected.

Fantastic experience: I go to Enloe High School and had Ms. Crawford teach me behind the wheel. It was a lot of fun and she was a very helpful teacher. I really enjoyed learning under her and (thankfully) I did not ever crash!

Fantastic experience: I am a student at Green Level High School and feel as though Mrs B taught us the joy of driving without letting us go crazy. She helped me personally understand how to control a car well and how to drive through hands on experience, which actually taught me how to drive, unlike other instructors who will keep you in the parking lot the whole time.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Robinson from Panther Creek in N.C is AWESOME! He's funny, but is serious when needed. Very informal, and will lighten the mood so quickly.I cannot list one bad thing about him, except to get your attention he yells for a split second, but not mean-like. Just to test your reflexes. So just know, you might want to cover your ears.

Fantastic experience: I really loved the 2 week classroom experience with Coach Robinson at Panther Creek High School. He always answered all the questions asked, and he made sure that it was a safe and very fun learning environment. Definitely worth five stars and if you go to Panther Creek, I highly reccomend taking drivers Ed. Revised: I had the driving portion with Mr. Owens. He was a great driving instructor; He told many jokes, and he was very calm and controlled. He always kept an eye and he made it safe and fun! Five stars all the way and definitely recommend him!

Fantastic experience: I am currently taking Drivers Ed class at Green Hope with Coach Bunn. While Drivers Ed took a lot of energy, Coach Bunn really made the class more enjoyable. Not only does he explain things really well, but he is also really funny and has a lot of stories which made me understand driving more than just doing notes and reading. Also, despite all of the technical difficulties, Coach Bunn was still able to teach us all that we needed to know, along with being understanding of the situation and us. If I had another teacher I would probably have hated drivers ed, but it wasn't half bad with Coach Bunn as a teacher.
