Fantastic experience: Great school in my opinion! Great teachers instructors office staff!! Dont even read the bad reviews! If you really want your cdl and are not just there wasting time they will DEFINITELY help you and guide you! Liz Juliana Ben ms G scott mark and any one else i forgot all genuinely care about the students especially the ones they see really seriously want a CDL. Definitely learned ALOT here and still continue to learn everyday!

Fantastic experience: Overall, great school. Staff and instructors were great. Liz is a true MVP, if I was the owner I’d give her like 85% ownership. Next Mr.Gabriel is a phenomenal instructor. By far the best instructor in the entire Midwest. Scott, Dennis, Mark and Ms.G were great. Ben does a fantastic job at running the Cicero location, regardless of of how many negative comments people make, at the end, it’s the work you put in, I started March 18 and graduated April 24 on manual transmission. I was really happy with the experience and met great people.

Negative experience: They seem all about the money. They convince people to sign up in hopes of getting a CDL, but once you're already in, they no longer care to actually help you. They'll stick you in a "computer lab" with outdated computers by yourself to study for a permit, which can be done at home for free using a phone app. Then once you've obtained a permit, they finally let you attend the one class room they have. It's about 20 to 40 students with only 4 or so instructors. The classroom is way overcrowded with students and understaffed. The instructors are very rude and impatient, they'll try to intimidate you as if you're in the army. Perhaps they're just frustrated about being understaffed, so they take it out on the students. You're not going to get much help, and they expect you to pass quickly as well. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else for you CDL.

Fantastic experience: February 1 2024 I graduated from Progressive Truck Driving School at the Cicero IL, Campus. I had an awesome experience here. The staff is very attentive and wants you to be successful. Chavon makes sure that you are good. Gabe is the best skills instructor on the yard, he is very hard working guy who can drive that Truck in his sleep lol. Ms. G is also a great teacher who knows her material ain't no tricking her lol. Ben is also straight up and will definitely make sure that you are successful. Overall progressive truck driving school at the Cicero IL Campus is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: Ms. Ortiz was great at my initial check in process. she was very informative and professional. She handled my VA process with ease and made me feel very comfortable with the process. Ms. Chavon was amazing on all front. Her communication and professionalism was above board and any time I needed assistance with anything she was always available with a smile and promising words of encouragement. Ms. G. was just fantastic. Her teaching style was impeccable. She was patient, informational, and always took the time to help her students. I enjoy how she went above and beyond to show me the things i needed to ensure my success both on the test and in the future for my career as a driver. She shared some of the best stories and made me feel confident that I could be successful if i used the tools learned at progressive Truck driving school. Mr. Gabriel was awesome he helped me concur my fears of the skill maneuvers in the truck. With his instructions I was filled with confidence that there was no maneuver i couldn't master. He made the straight backing, the off-setting and parallel parking look easy. With his direction and simple explanations of how to complete each maneuver i built a foundation that i will take with me for the lifetime of my career as a driver. Mr. Lloyd was by far the funniest and most informative instructor at progressive truck driving school. He helped me master the road test. He jokes helped me relax and remember that i was in control of the truck. Though he had a great sense of humor he insured that I took driving the truck serious and that i understood the dangers that i would and could encounter on the road. With his professional knowledge and years of experience of the truck driving industry he mentored me and encourage me to be the best driver i could be while i was operating a vehicle. Mr. Ben was also amazing. Everyday he reminded me that i was here to be a truck driver and not a truck driving student and that everyday my goal should be working towards graduating and getting my license. Every thing i learned had a purpose and that i should focus on retaining the knowledge given to ensure my success both on the test and in my career. Overall I had an incredible experience at Progressive Truck Driving School and i would highly recommend both military and civilian students to sign up to this program if you want to receive top tier training in the trucking industry. Fantastic experience: I wasn't too sure about this place at first but Ms. G broke down the pre-trip & air brake tests in class room portion and gave me the knowledge to get through my test. Mr. Lloyd to got me through my road test explaining things in ways I would remember. Mr. Ben & Ms. Chavon were very understanding with my schedule and always worked around it. If there was ever a CDL for Dummies Mr. Gabriel would be the author he showed me reference points on the parallel that helped me out tremendously. I recommend going to this school because they all did they're job and got me my CDL but you have to put in your work as well.

Fantastic experience: Progressive was a great experience. The thing that will always stay with me the most is that I actually learned about my vehicle, tractor & trailer. I can look at these & break it down from front to back, under the hood & underneath. I believe you should know your vehicle before you drive it.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed Progressive Trucking school. It’s really at your pace and they don’t force you out like other trucking schools. One of the instructor’s Gabriel is really knowledgeable and skilled on the skills portion of the test. He really takes his time and instructs you one on one.

Fantastic experience: Just graduated this morning from Progressive school in Cicero . 08-24-23. Great school great experience, they treat you like family. I will start with the front office Chavon, Martha & Ben all great people they believed in me and pushed me to be successful which helped a lot. Instructors: Ms. G, Loyd, Gabe, Denise, Mark, & Lee where all wonderful instructors. They give you the tools and knowledge to be successful in the trucking industry. Gabe went above and beyond to get you right. With that said, it all starts with you. You have to give it 125% so all the knowledge that was given to you is seen come test date with the Secretary of State. I highly recommend this school .

Fantastic experience: Just Graduated from Progressive and got my CDL. At first coming to Progressive I didn’t really know much about tractors or trailers or how they worked but by Applying myself in the classroom , on the road , and on the skills yard I was able to learn so much and be successful. The instructors are very knowledgeable, hands on and are there teach you as well as give you advice when you need it. I would say My experience there was great. Great vibes , great People, motivated atmosphere. They treat you like family. If I could go back I would choose Progressive again. 10/10 . Remember it starts with YOU.

Negative experience: Terrible experience Computers out of date you have to go to your phone to get information The office will lie to you when you come in the door so don't believe. They're super knowledgeable and friendly people and will make sure you leave out of here with your CDL. The instructors were awesome. Fantastic experience: Progressive Truck Driving School is a very good school. The staff is excellent and the instructors strive to make sure each student succeed. Gabriel,the in-class instructor is very thorough in teaching about the pre-trip among other things that you should know about Truck Driving. Mr Lloyd, guides in the yard skills and helps to make sure you get it right...everytime. Dennis, Mark and Lee are the best in road. They all make sure understand how to drive safely and properly . Also how to be smooth when driving. Ben is the man to talk to about anything. He will make sure to get everything done so you'll be ready for your finals. Positive experience: Just got my CDL with Progressive and took about 3 months. Alot of it is on you but they give you the resources you need to prep you for the state exam. Instructor Gabriel and Lopez were very knowledgeable when it came to this industry and helped out alot.

Positive experience: When I first got to progressive cicero, there was a lot wrong with the school.But Leading up to me leaving, they’ve improved so much in many different departments. They listened to the students suggestions on how to improve and this has helped the students with receiving the proper training. The instructors go above and beyond for us even staying after school to give additional training to those struggling, (much love to Mr.Lopez). And Marta stretches herself thin to make sure everyone is taken care of (thank you Marta). Each instructor is dedicated to helping us reach our goal and is very knowledgeable in their craft. They even fixed the parking lot full of pot holes do we aren’t tearing up our cars driving through there anymore. There’s still improvements needed, like better organization, more patience and understanding from some of the instructors and staff with the students, and more lanes needed for training on skills, but i believe with time, this school will improve even more and can be one of the top schools in illinois again. Thank you to all staff and instructors for going out of your way to ensure i reach my goal.

Negative experience: Terrible school. If you go in without your permit, they’ll charge you to sit in a classroom studying for your permit. They have computers with out of date permit tests and tell you it’s better to use an app on your cell phone. Once you get your permit, they go over a book and give you information and basically tell you to go learn on your own. There’s students who quit in the middle here because there’s no instructor guidance. It’ll get slightly better IF you pass this portion of the schooling, which is required before you can even drive. This school takes your money then forced you out as soon as possible. It’s a rip off. They almost never have trucks, instructors aren’t much help, upper management doesn’t care about you. This school is a rip off. This is coming from someone who somehow managed to acquire my CDL.

Positive experience: This school is in need of improvement. Luckily there are some great instructors who spend extra time to get students ready and learning somethings we'll actually need when driving. Dennis and Lopez really went above and beyond staying late and coming in on Saturdays to get us ready. You really need to be a self starter and push to get your time in the trucks. Too often the trucks were broken down. Unfortunately they don't want to spend money on fixing trucks but are happy to take your money which the price keeps going up. Some of these problems are not the fault of staff but upper management.

Negative experience: Worst school to go to it takes over 3 months to graduate more like 6 when your permit is about to expire some people been here longer than that. They have 3 instructors and horrible equipment in the skills yard don’t waste your time seriously. You will sit around all day long to practice for 30 minutes backing up. They keep bringing more students in every week for the money but can’t get them out the door fast enough. I’ve seen people pay and quit because of it and they don’t give you a refund. It’s a very frustrating school you teach yourself they don’t teach you hands on

Fantastic experience: Ms.T taught me a lot and I appreciate her so much. Progressive school is about patient and learning much has you can. It’s all mental can’t be weak coming to school gotta have a strong mind and ready to go. Be patient with them and learn. It’s not a race take your time. Thank you progressive

Positive experience: Facility is clean, personnel is friendly. If you get nauseous with the cigarettes smell just be advice some instructors do smoke while training you. Also it is up to you how long you take to graduate. It took me roughly two months to graduate. Make sure you find your self a crew of people who want to graduate and push each other. Do not stand around and just talk and have fun or you’ll be here up to you a year

Fantastic experience: Since i have been attending, the school changed instructors to those that are very knowledgeable and hands on. Tom and Mack are great additions to the program. All the instructors have their own way of teaching, but if you take a little from all, you will be find. I highly recommend joining Progressive, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: If you take the time to put in your part, listen to the instructors and apply what they say, you will do just fine. I got my CDL and was hired immediately by Werner. Now after finishing their training for new hires, I'm making a good living. My thanks to everyone over at Progressive.

Positive experience: Happy I went here. Overall decent school but Needs improvement(instructors/trucks). Some Trucks needs major improvement at the very least, mechanically. There are a couple of instructors that are very good on the road such as Dennis which is patient and knowledgeable on how to teach which is important when you’re instructing students. He’s not the only one. So I thank him and the others that take the time to actually instruct.

Fantastic experience: I graduated on January 14th and it was the best feeling . I had an amazing journey and learning experience. The instructors made sure you are getting what u need to get your CDL. I was able to pass my test with confidence. Thanks to the instructors and definitely the dean of the school Ewelina. They offer support in all aspects to ensure that the students are being treated with respect. Programs are structured to fit work and personal schedules. With Progressive Truck Driving School you will be off to a very promising Trucking career. They offer job placement and have great opportunities to began your career immediately upon graduation. I highly recommend this school.

The school and instructor’s was more than helpful and monumental in helping me achieve my goal. Never drove or even been in a commercial vehicle before attending progressive and I was giving the skills to help me go out and succeed in the trucking industry. Fantastic experience: The Director Ewelina was professional and encouraging. She is also very sweet. The skills instructor Reggie an excellent teacher. He has an effective way of teaching students how to navigate the truck. Mark is a very good road skills instructor. He has helped me with my shifting so much. I am grateful to my skills instructors and happy with my experience.

Positive experience: Progressive Truck Driving in Cicero, The school is very nice, the instructors are very helpful and are very knowledgeable. They are here to help. It is a great experience. Fantastic experience: All I can say is they picked the right name for this school. I made progress from day one and didn’t stop. The instructors are wonderful, The patience they have with students is amazing!! You absolutely can’t fail at Progressive unless you are dishonest with yourself when you said “this is what you want”. Positive experience: Progressive school overall is a good school. If you come everyday or when you’re scheduled to come you’ll do just fine. Mind you nothing or no one is perfect but even this school but as long as you pay attention to the instructors and listen to what they have to tell you, all will go well! It’s NOT easy and you may not pass your test in the first try but that’s okay it took me twice for skills and road and as if today I’m DONE... COMPLETE!!!! Cdl driver here I come!

Fantastic experience: The experience I had at this place was amazing. Although I feel it can be a little bit better in captivity size. The staff is excellent here as well as the utilities they allow you to use. Majority of everything is hands on activities. So therefore I highly recommend Progressive Driving School.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with this school from the students to the teachers in admission. I loved Adam he is full of energy he makes sure u know all of the material, in gives you hands on training.OH IN NO CELLPHONES WITH ADAM. Ewelina/Marie are the best advisors ever. Overall my experience was decent just got wished I was able to go out driving every week instead of every two weeks.loved this school!!!

Fantastic experience: Progressive has been a great school to attend and get educated about truck driving. The staff will help you with pretty much anything they are capable of doing. They can also help you a job and follow up on any pre hires. Attending progressive has pretty much taught me more than what I expected to learn about a tractor and also helped me learn how to safely drive one.

Positive experience: My experience with Progressive was great. They have really good driving instructors like Mr. Luis acosta who helped me a lot and the class room instructor. The only thing I didn't like was that I pretty much learn how to perform my skills by my self and other students and one instructor who is not in charge of skills. I was very disappointed in that aspect. I wish the instructor had made the effort to teach me instead of getting food and disappearing for long periods of time. Other than that my experience was really good.

Negative experience: Don't waste your money going to this school. Says it's one of the best but it's the worse. Couple days after I started the instructor quit. Then people in the office started quiting. They had us in the class for 2 weeks with a different instructor from a different location. Here is the crazy part. They hired a student that just graduated with no experience trying to teach the class off of his pre-trip exam. That's when I had enough and dropped out wasting my time and money.

The instructors are very nice and they teach u everything that you need to know and make sure that you are prepared for all of your upcoming exams. They need more instructors to teach skills but overall progressive is a great school to go to.

Fantastic experience: My experience was wonderful at this school. The instructors were very informal and hands on. They provided me with all the tools skills necessary to breeze through the program with confidence.

Positive experience: My experience at progressive was freaking awesome. Everybody is very helpful and they explain the material to you and make sure you understand the knowledge of trucking. The biggest thing I love about progressive all the student become close and comfortable, the instructors are laid back and funny but the help you personally one on one.

Fantastic experience: I did not know what to expect but I went in with an open mind. I meet great instructors who actually cared about my experience there. I recommend going the the Cicero location, you will be in great hands. Look for Ricardo he is the Class instructor, great teacher with a great personality. Regi over on skills knows all the tricks, listen to the man trust me. Like Mr. Ricardo always says "In this business you have to be willing to suffer". Anyway he has taught me that in order for me to be successful I have to be the 007 in everything that I do.

Positive experience: I will most definitely say that this is a very very good school. Instructors were great, overall staff members were very professional with the exception of Ana whom at times was rude to students. There were times where she forgot to inform us of things and tried to put the blame on us the students. My classroom instructor Ricardo was unbelievably great at teaching us pre-trip day in and day out. Reggie the skills instructor did a great job at helping me perfect my skills and parking. My driving instructors, Larry and Lee helped me out in so many ways. I had zero experience and they helped me get to where I am today. The only reason I didn't rate this 5 full stars is due to the owner. I really hope she sees this review, her lack of respect for her staff members was both unprofessional and disappointing. I am only hoping she changes her rude ways as I was close to leaving this school. She makes threats to fire people if they don't play by her childish rules and expel students for minor offenses. Example: no cell phone policy. She flat out told one classmate while outside the facility that "cell phone not permitted on premises, I don't care if it's an emergency." Everyone would appreciate if we were treated as adults. She does not appreciate the hard work all instructors put into this school or the staff members that help run it.

Fantastic experience: by far the best school in the city. they have great instructors that will push you. to be honest more like drill instructors. when I first stared I was so terrified of driving the big semi, but now it's nothing at all. i considered other schools but this school is by far the best. the staff in the office are a bunch of great humans. they are friendly and willing to help. the upper management is great along with the owner.. this school is run almost like a military camp. that what worked for me.
