Fantastic experience: I passed my road test on my first try. My instructor Francis was patient and helpful throughout all my lessons. He gave excellent feedback and was very clear on instructions. I would 100% recommend this instructor.

Positive experience: I started my driving lessons with Andrew and took seven lessons with him. Honestly, calling him a bad teacher is putting it lightly. He was incredibly rude and short tempered, which was really discouraging since I had no prior driving experience. His harsh tone and attitude made me feel like I’d never be able to drive. I ended up failing my first road test, and while I know I made mistakes, I truly believe a big part of it was due to his poor teaching style and the anxiety he caused me. After the test, I even lied and said it went fine just so I wouldn’t have to deal with his criticism. After that, I decided to book two more lessons, but this time, I switched instructors, and it was the best decision I could’ve made. My new instructor was Robert and he was calm, patient, and supportive. He never made me feel bad about myself and always kept a positive attitude. Thanks to Robert, I passed my road test on the second try. He’s honestly an angel, and I can’t recommend him enough!

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test on the first attempt with help from my instructor, Francis. He's friendly and patient, which were important qualities in an instructor for me because I'm an anxious driver. He never got mad if I made a mistake and I made a lot of them in the beginning. I took 10 lessons and noticed myself improving drastically around the 4th lesson. Towards the end, I felt a lot more comfortable behind the wheel. Our lessons were in English, but he also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.

Fantastic experience: I would like to give a big hand to my wonderful coach, Francis, who played an important role in my passing the road test! He was extremely patient! Although I kept repeating some bad driving habits, he never lost his temper and kept rectifying my wrong doings. He also gave me good suggestions and reminders! Fantastic experience: Overall a 5-star experience with golden medal driving school --from my communications with the school, to my awesome and ever-so-patient driving instructor Francis. My experience with them was smooth from day 1. The school usually has at least 2 staff receptionists around to help you with answering questions about their packages, to registering with them. After registering with them, they set you up for your pre-licensing class and work with you to schedule your driving classes, as well as your driver's test. They are organised, friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. They can speak both English and Mandarin, which always helps. My driving instructor was Francis. He was always patient and allowed me to feel calm and relaxed whenever I had lessons with him. I had my driver's road test just yesterday at the Kissena Park test site, and I PASSED on my very first try, with FLYING COLOURS! I definitely could not have done it without Francis' guidance and driving tips. He made driving much less daunting, and his car is also very smooth to drive in terms of braking, accelarating and wheel handling. I highly recommend anyone who is wanting to learn to drive to go with Francis (his schedule gets filled up quickly, so better get yourself a spot quickly!!). He can also converse in Mandarin and Cantonese!

A genuine instructor and an even more genuine person. The driving school itself is also outstanding. They are quick to respond to any questions or scheduling requests, ensuring a smooth experience.

Fantastic experience: I was able to pass my road test on my first try (and in under 10 lessons!), thanks to my driving instructor Francis. His instruction is very clear and he is very relaxed and calming and also conversational which I personally enjoyed! Fantastic experience: The staffs are great and so are the instructors. I had absolutely no experience driving previously and was able to pass the exam today on my initial attempt due to my driving instructor, Francis. He was very patient with my driving and was able to point out and correct my mistake in an effective manner. He always made me feel great about driving and instilled the confidence that allowed me to drive well. Very good instructor and a great person in general.

Positive experience: This is my second attempt to pass the driving lesson with the same driving school and I’m glad I passed. I took lessons with Coach Francis. He was a friendly person and I’m glad he helped me pass the test, but there are several things that I don’t like about him. First, he likes chit chatting a lot. He was chatting much of the time when I was trying to focus on driving and it’s a huge distraction. I don’t like to disclose my personal information and I just want to learn how to drive. Second, every time I take lessons with him, he always has to go to the restroom in the middle of the lesson, then he will end the lesson a bit early. Third, he asked me to give him a red pocket on the day of my driving test. I never have someone ask me for red pocket or tips for driving exam. I’ve already paid for my lessons and test! I ended up giving him a bit since he pressured me to do so, but he complained to me how little I gave him. I don’t think this is good practice as a coach.

I learned so much from him and I really enjoyed his teaching style - I was so nervous to start learning how to drive but he is very patient and explains things to you in a way that makes a lot of sense. It really helped me feel more confident in my driving. He always checked in with me to see if I needed a break or felt nervous. I failed my first road test due to my own nerves, but took more classes with him to correct my mistakes. I'm so happy to have passed the 2nd time and I'm looking to go back to take some highway lessons with him! I highly recommend this driving school and David in particular! :)

He's extremely attentive to detail on specific driving skills he feels you need to work on and provides effective feedback such as how to control brake/acceleration when making turns, how to grab the wheel, and even how to "fix" parking to prevent hitting the curb. Failed the first and second time due to nerves. But Francis works with you to practice and help fix mistakes. Also the staff at the office are super friendly!

Fantastic experience: I passed today on my second attempt! My instructor was Francis and I took 12 lessons with him, 8 in July/August, 2 in January before my first exam, and 2 in March right before my second exam. I'm a rather slow learner and struggled with getting the hang of driving as I never drove at all before, but Francis was patient and explained each step carefully. He thoroughly prepared me for the road test and walked me through areas I needed to improve on as well as provided constant reminders for the little things that I needed to pay caution to on the exam. Aside from being a great instructor, he was also super friendly, easy to talk to, casual and very hip. He's fluent in English and Mandarin, which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Terrible. According to my sister’s experience, Coaches are not professional at all. The way they teach is freaking hard to understand. And right before my sister taking the driving test the coach asked her to pay him tips, and forced my sister to leave a good comment on google reviews. And my sister was scared and did as he said. This was awful.

Fantastic experience: Arlen is the best driving instructor ever, he helped me pass with very minimal comments from the driving examiner after a month and a half of classes! I had previously attempted the test twice with another school and was nowhere near passing. I essentially started learning driving from scratch with Arlen and he was incredibly patient, gave so many good safety tips and helped me feel comfortable behind the wheel, to the point that we were able to drive on the highway. I had been very anxious about driving, but always felt confident driving with him there. The entire time I'm on the road, he is verbally guiding me, it's never silent in the car and I always know what I'm supposed to be doing, what my next move is. Fantastic experience: my instructor was francis and he’s very chill while also making sure you get down the key points to drive correctly for the test. if you’re an ABC, he speaks english fluently so no need to worry if your chinese is iffy. every lesson is fun and he doesn’t make you feel bad for making mistakes. he also cracks jokes and creates a nice light hearted mood :) would recommend to anyone with any level of driving ^^

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at Golden Medal Driving School. I had instructor Jason, and he was so kind and patient. I learned very quickly with him as my instructor, and he taught me all the tips and tricks for passing, I passed on my FIRST TRY! Jason speaks excellent Chinese and English, and was overall so lovely to be around. I'm honestly sad I my lessons with him are over, he made me super confident in myself that I'd pass the test. Golden Medal was also super helpful, I could change class times anytime I couldn't make a class, and they made all testing reservations for me. Overall, I would highly reccomend Golden Medal Driving School, and would reccomend learning with Jason even more!

He does an excellent job at teaching you the fundamentals like turning, U-turns, parallel parking, and so forth. He is very patient and thorough. After all this training, I passed it on my first try! Highly recommend picking him as an instructor!

Fantastic experience: My instructor was Francis and he is one of the greatest instructors I ever met. He knows the roads very well and he gives insightful and constructive pointers. Francis never yelled at me when I made a mistake and patiently told me what I did wrong. His teaching is very effective. Francis teaches students with the purpose of driving safely on the road, his sole purpose isn't just you getting a license. He wants you to drive safely on the road and not just to get the license and call it a day. It is his teaching that allowed me to pass today. Francis is also very friendly and speaks english if you are worried about that. If you want good pointers on your driving and grow more confident in your abilities Francis is your man. He is stern and gentle. He gives you the courage you need to face the scary examiners because he makes you prepared.

Fantastic experience: I had my last lesson today and I am confident that I will pass my road test soon even though I’ve only had a month of driving experience. My instructor Francis taught me in simple yet comprehensive directions that allowed me to understand driving that is easier than how anyone else could have taught it. Even Youtube videos make things such as parallel parking much harder than how Francis teaches. We have good conversations during the 1.5 hr lessons, and I even learn more things than driving just by talking to him (he can speak good English which is a good plus!). I would recommend Golden Medal Driving School because it is a good price and has good instruction.

Fantastic experience: Francis was a very exceptional instructor. He was able to point out all the things I wasn’t properly doing, so that I was able to improve upon the techniques. He was open to my concerns on what I felt I wasn’t able to comfortably do and allowed me to practice , so that I was more comfortable to it. I was finally able to pull over better because of him. Definitely would have him keep teaching if ever needed in the future.

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test today with Instructor Francis. I had him previously from my attempt last year. He is very nice, knows the streets very well, he has a lot of experience. He is really funny and I had a great time driving along side him. He loves cracking jokes. He remembers his past students which is something that really caught my attention. If you somehow get a peek at his schedule you’ll realize why it’s the way it is , always packed. But thank you Francis for helping me pass and being patient.

I passed my road test on my first tried that because I have a very professional instructor, Francis. Yes, he is the one that will tell you what is mostly going to happen before you start the road test. Not just professionalism and also patience, he will show you step by step how to drive your car in the right way and which mistake you should avoid it. Instructor Liu helped me feel more comfortable, and by the second lesson, I felt more confident navigating the crowded roads of Flushing. I felt very reassured with Instructor Liu by my side. He calmly guided me through any unexpected and stressful driving situations. He made concepts like parallel parking and U-turning easily digestible. He also emphasized the required components needed to pass the drivers license test. Instructor Liu throughly explained various concepts to help me better understand the proper way to drive. Additionally, he immediately addresses and corrects any bad driving habits. He also consistently provides positive reinforcement for executing proper techniques which helped me feel more confident with driving. Overall, I had a great experience and learned a lot over the course of 10 days.
