Daughter’s driving ability and confidence improved significantly. Extremely professional and helpful! I highly recommend Top Driving School and instructor Bobby Akers.

Experiencia fantástica: The class was really helpful for me to get my drivers permit and liscense and they also had us do a 50 page packet with all of the information for us to be safe drivers. My instructor was Mr. Blough (George) and he was REALLY nice and made the class enjoyable to learn.

Experiencia negativa: Top driver is a very unorganized and a complete waste of money. Other than the actual teaching part of thing in the classroom, it was a terrible experience. For the cost you would expect this establishment to be very professional but of course if you call customer service they connect you to someone all the way in Ohio. I had 8 driving lessons that I was supposed to take but after a whole year after I had finished classes I had only completed 2 due to the incompetence of assigning lessons to students. Every single time we had to schedule a lesson it was totally booked and I actually got my license completely without the help from the lessons, a complete waste of money. Not only that but I had a lesson planned with an instructor, who called me to tell me he was here and he was not. When we tried to call him to know where he was, he wouldn't pick up. Absolute disgrace and waste of money, just stick to your school drivers ed or any other driving school

Experiencia fantástica: This is our second time using Top Driver for our kids. Our 1st was just before Covid and our 2nd was during Covid. During Covid it’s been quite frustrating for booking behind the wheel sessions. You are only allowed to book the 1st Wednesday of the month at noon and it’s quite a race to get classes. The classes are all booked for the month by 12:10 pm. There were 2 months that I wasn’t able to book any classes. This is horrible and really unacceptable. Now the good, George Blough! He is a phenomenal instructor and has been great in helping to schedule classes where schedules allow. He is extremely passionate about his job and enjoys teaching kids to drive. He explains exactly what they should be doing rather than talking at them on what they’ve done. Top Driver Hinsdale is extremely lucky to have him. I give them 5 stars because of George otherwise due tot he scheming issues it would be a 3 1/2.

Experiencia negativa: We were happy with the classroom instruction, but once your kid gets their permit and Behind The Wheel sessions are supposed to start, forget it. They have this insane scheduling where they only open up slots once a month on the on-line calendar for 45 days in advance, you can only book two dates, and they must be at least two weeks apart. It's like a feeding frenzy on that date with everyone desperately trying to snag some dates for their kid. We didn't manage to get any dates for our daughter in over 3 months! Over the year I made numerous calls to customer service who said 'that was the only way to schedule, there was an overflow due to Covid, keep trying every month', blah blah blah. Then with 4 months to go before my daughter's permit expires, they tell me that with current availability there is no way she can fit all of her behind the wheel lessons in on time. I was furious. We ended up going with another company strictly for the in-car lessons, and Top Driver begrudgingly gave me a partial refund. They then revoked my daughter's permit from the Sec. of State just to be mean-spirited. And they did this to 9 other families who pulled out of their program for the same reason. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!!

Experiencia fantástica: While the challenges of scheduling driving lessons on Top Drivers website during the COVID backup were significant and frustrated me immensely, I was always amazed that my son enjoyed going to the classes and looked forward to his driving lessons. The passion and knowledge of the instructors like George Blough and his commitment to turning out good drivers is where Top Driver shines.

Experiencia negativa: I regret not going through the High School. This has been a pain to schedule. If you miss any classes you will need to wait a month plus to retake. The only way to get in car sessions scheduled is to go online at 9am the fifteenth of every month and deal with the overloaded website to grab whatever you can get. Limit is 2 sessions a month so you will need to repeat this each month. On October 15th I tried to schedule classes and the website was so unresponsive I had to wait over 1/2 hour to get into the actual scheduler. By 9:30 the only classes left were for the days right after Christmas. I will need to do the same thing on the 15th of this month to get our next class scheduled. Please think twice before going with them. There is nothing special about the instruction and not worth the waste of time to schedule.

Experiencia fantástica: They are the top at teaching driver intelligence. I went here one summer for morning classes and then through out the next year, we scheduled driver's lessons. In the morning summer classes there are videos, stories, graphs, workbooks, notes, and guides which was fun I guess. Good places nearby to buy snacks or something to drink for when your in class, or places to eat at before or after classes. Parking is available if you don't get picked up/dropped off.

Experiencia fantástica: We sent our daughter to Top Driver in Western Springs when she was in high school in 1999. Since we had such a great experience with Top Driver back then, we decided to send our Grandson to Top Driver in Hinsdale due to the conflict with his schedule, he went on Sundays. He has learned the fundamentals for driving and is a very law abiding driver. He was nervous about his behind the wheel on the streets but he is okay when I ask him to drive me somewhere. I would recommend Top Driver to anyone who asks.

Experiencia fantástica: My son really learned a lot from Top Driver. I highly recommend trying to take the class from Mr. Virgil as well as the driving experiences. He really knows his way around all moving vehicles. He does not let the kids get away with goofing off in class, but he still makes it fun. He knows that this is serious business putting a teenager behind the wheel of a several thousand pound vehicle. He really helps them understand that behind the wheel is not a playground or a place to do social media. All their attention needs to be on the vehicle and the road around them.
