Experiencia negativa: 12/16/24 Beware of this Driver’s School — Potential Scam Alert I recently moved to Texas from Missouri and needed to transfer my driver’s license. I contacted the Carrollton DPS, thinking it was a state-run office. It turns out it’s a driver’s school, but they assured me I could handle everything there, including retaking my permit and driver’s tests since my license had lapsed. On Friday, December 13th (correct date), I went in for the permit test, paid $50 for it, and was told the driving test would cost $150. When it was time to pay, I asked if they accepted card payments or had an online system. Instead, they asked for payment via Zelle, Apple Pay, or Cash App — all major red flags. As a small business owner myself, I know how risky Cash App payments can be since they’re irreversible. So, I insisted on using PayPal for the added protection. After leaving, I noticed the PayPal payment was sent to a woman’s name, not the man I dealt with. I contacted him as instructed on Monday morning (December 16th) but received no response. I called multiple times, but every call went straight to voicemail. No calls or messages were returned. This whole experience raised too many red flags. While taking my test, the man was on the phone discussing car insurance costs, and ironically, the amount he needed for his policy matched what I had just paid them ($200 total). Now that he’s unreachable, I’m working with PayPal to get my money back. This is a warning to others. Be cautious when dealing with businesses that request Cash App, Zelle, or other untraceable payments. Legitimate businesses have proper payment systems in place. As a business owner, I would never ask my customers to pay that way. I now see that I should have trusted my instincts. If you’re considering this place, be vigilant. They may seem friendly, but scams often do. Don’t let your need for help put you in a vulnerable position. God bless. 12/17/24 Update to My Initial Review I was scheduled to take my test on 12/16/24, but this individual was completely unreachable—no phone calls answered, no communication at all. Today, 12/17/24 after I already reported him to PayPal and left my first review, he suddenly reached out with an excuse that his “phone wasn’t working all day yesterday.” We all know that’s a lie. His behavior speaks for itself, but it gets worse: he couldn’t even spell my name correctly (he wrote “Dashanna ”). I now have screenshots of all communications and proof that I’ll be sharing with PayPal and posting here so others can see for themselves. Pictures don’t lie, and this is not just “one unhappy customer”—there are at least eight other reviews from people saying the exact same thing: this man is a scammer. If you’re considering using his “services,” I highly recommend you save your money and your time. Do NOT do business with him. I’ll continue to share updates to ensure others are protected. My money needs to be returned that it that all. Tonight 2:16am 12/31/24 just received my refund thank GOD and thank you to Paypal dispute!!!!
