Negative experience: My experience is not of a student but of a fellow driver sharing the road with the student driver and instructor. The instructor was so terrible I want to warn others not to choose this school. Waving your arms outside of your car is not safe or effective or appropriate. If your arm Is outside of the car it is for turn signals because your blinker is broken. NOT to to flag down other drivers FOR NO REASON!!! she waved me to down to tell me she was with a student driver?!?! Yea it’s plastered over your car everywhere?? So not only are you not instructing the student, you are not portraying or teaching proper road safety. If you are looking for a driving school go elsewhere!!! They are just taking your money and giving out horrible instructions and the poor student couldn’t even keep her car straight so I’m not sure why the teacher was focused anywhere but her student and her car. And the response is to not maintain control of your car from veering left & right, or maintain speed (up to 25 and down to 15) but to take more attention away from the student and pick up the phone and make a call? So what is the instruction to the student?? Pick up the phone and call the police? Again this review is that of someone sharing the road with a student not receiving good instruction and probably not ready to be on the open road but still in a parking lot. Place the blame everywhere you'd like. They also mentioned I tried to resolve this directly, funny how after they don't listen and blow me off now they want to do this directly. Listen to what the instructions they are giving their students. It was not mentioned because it wasn't happening. go to a different school that will help you ACTUALLY drive on the road confidently.

We take the safety of our students very seriously. In this case, the vehicle you were in was tailgating our student driver. Tailgating is prohibited under Connecticut General Statutes § 14-240, which requires drivers to maintain a reasonable and prudent distance behind another vehicle to avoid collisions. This law exists to prevent exactly the kind of dangerous situation your vehicle created.
Our training vehicles are equipped with cameras, and we have clear video evidence of the incident, which can be verified. It is also important to note that you were not the one driving—a male driver was operating the vehicle at the time.
This reckless behavior made our student very nervous and put both vehicles at risk. Our instructor should have called the police immediately, and in any future incident like this, we will not hesitate to do so. Tailgating can result in fines, points on a license, and other legal consequences in Connecticut.
If you wish to discuss this matter directly, we are open to an amicable conversation over the phone—provided it is conducted respectfully and without abruptly hanging up, as occurred in your previous call.
It’s clear from both the video evidence and our previous interactions that this was never about resolving an issue—it was about creating one. Your aggressive tailgating of a student driver showed exactly the kind of bully behavior that has no place on the road.
This incident involved your vehicle tailgating our student driver—a direct violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 14-240, which requires a reasonable and prudent distance between vehicles. Our training vehicles are equipped with cameras, and we have preserved clear video evidence showing the event. It is noted that you were not the driver; a male driver was operating the vehicle. The conduct exhibited was aggressive, intimidating, and placed our student in an unsafe situation.
We stand firmly behind our instructor—highly qualified, respected, and one of the most requested by our customers—who handled this behavior professionally and in accordance with our school’s safety protocols. Pole Position Driving School has a long-standing reputation for teaching with responsibility, integrity, and care, and operates in full compliance with all Connecticut laws.
At this point, we will not engage in further public discussion regarding this matter. Instead, we are actively collecting and preserving evidence of harassment, libel, and slander stemming from false statements made about our school. This evidence will be turned over to the appropriate legal authorities, and we will pursue all remedies available under Connecticut law.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at Pole Position Driving School. Being an older woman made me anxious about getting my license. But both the secretary who helped me with my documentation and the driving instructor were patient, professional and made me feel confident regardless of my age. The lessons I had were well structured and the flexible scheduling made it easy to fit lessons into my routine. They prepared me for my road test and I’m proud to say I passed on my first try. I highly recommend this school.
