Crossroads Driving School LLC: Reviews
Negative experience: Our son finished up his last online class in September but when we reach reached out to the schedule driving lessons portion, no slots were available until January(!). We decided to forgo that part, but they wouldnt refund the difference. Buyer beware: seems like these folks are glad to take your money (and keep it!) whether they’re able to deliver what they promise in a reasonable timeframe or not.
Todd and Michelle enrolled their son with Crossroads, and he began his classes on June 17. He completed his final class on September 22.
On November 15, I received an email from Michelle indicating that their son was ready to begin his driving lessons. I responded explaining that, due to the holiday schedule, we were fully booked with driving lessons until after January 5. Michelle indicated that she did not wish to wait and instead scheduled a road test appointment for her son with the Hamden DMV on December 13. Unfortunately, we were therefore unable to accommodate his driving lessons prior to that date.
Had Todd or Michelle requested driving lessons when their son completed his final class on September 22, we likely would have been able to schedule him accordingly. Additionally, he received his learner’s permit on June 10 and would have been eligible to test as early as October 8.
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for a simple, seamless process from class 1 right to the driving test. Your staff was so easy to work with and you were always so quick to respond with questions we had. Thanks again
Fantastic experience: Our experience with Crossroads Driving was nothing short of amazing! I want to give a huge shoutout to Diane Stanley for providing such a great experience for my son. Diane, you were always quick to respond with any information we needed and went above and beyond to help us out when the DMV in Hamden failed our car-potentially delaying my son's progress. Thanks to you, he was able to get right back on track and retest without having to wait. Your help made all the difference! I'll definitely be recommending Crossroads to our friends and family. Not only that you were super kind to my son:) Thank you for everything!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! I enjoyed driving with your son! Thank you for choosing Crossroads Driving School!! Diane Lane Stanley, NHHS Alumni!!
Negative experience: We are extremely frustrated with the driving school’s scheduling and communication practices. Our experience has been both disappointing and incredibly inconvenient. My son was excited to start his driving classes, but from the very beginning, things have not gone as promised. The classes are scheduled twice a day, four days a week, but each day only runs once per month. This means if a class is missed, such as in our case when my son had a conflict with basketball practice in the morning and work in the evening, he was forced to wait a full 30 days to make it up. This delay alone has caused unnecessary frustration. Further complicating matters, we were told that on-road practice with an instructor could not be scheduled until after the on-road test was booked. However, the test cannot be scheduled until after my son completes the final class (which, as mentioned, is 30 days later). To make matters worse, when we tried to schedule the test directly with the school, we were told there was no availability for the test, which led us to schedule it with the DMV for another 30 days from now. To top it off, when my son reached out via email in a professional and polite manner to inquire about scheduling on-road practice prior to the test, he was met with rude and dismissive behavior from the school’s owner. This is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a business treating a young student this way, especially when they are trying to navigate something as important as driver’s education. The school has no availability for on-road instruction for another two months, which makes it nearly impossible for students to stay on track. This lack of flexibility and the lack of consideration for the time constraints of your students and their families is, frankly, appalling. I do not believe this practice should continue. You need a full review of your scheduling practices. It’s not just about the delay anymore — it’s about the professionalism (or lack thereof) displayed by both the instructor and the owner. I would like to see improvements made to the overall communication, scheduling, and customer service practices.
Crossroads Driving School, LLC has been serving the community since 2007, with a commitment to scheduling students’ driving lessons as efficiently as possible.
As stated on our website under the program tab “Driving Lessons for 38-Hour Course – Students must complete all classes prior to scheduling driving lessons. Due to high demand, the current availability for on-road instruction is approximately two months after the course ends.”
Mrs. Fisher requested an exception to this policy for her son, which we were unable to accommodate. Accordingly, we issued a refund for his eight hours of driving instruction, which also included his 30-hour classroom certificate.
We extend our best wishes to the Fisher family as they continue the process of preparing their new driver.
Fantastic experience: We had a very good experience with Crossroads Driving School. The communication around the online classes was clear and prompt. My daughter took the 30 hours of online classes, 8 hours of driving instruction, and took the driver's test through Crossroads. She passed her test and is driving with confidence.
Fantastic experience: 10/10, couldn’t recommend more for your children, crossroads gives lots of tips on parking which will make the student a confident and well rounded driver. Couldn’t say enough good things about this driving school….. 5 STARS FOR SURE
Fantastic experience: My daughter found this to be very knowledgeable, folks were kind and understanding, and very informative. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you for making her Driving experience wonderful and as easy as anyone can make it. She really enjoyed all her sessions. Instructor was Mr. Flynn
Fantastic experience: A positive experience from start to finish with Crossroads! The instructors were kind & answered any question my son had for the classes. It was worth the investment to have someone else reconfirm the responsibility of driving a vehicle. I would highly recommend giving Diane a call for your son/daughter! My son had Roy Castagnola as a driving instructor. He was professional, assuring that my son was ready for the final test! He even cared enough to text my son a congrats when he obtained his license. A+ job for Crossroads!
Fantastic experience: My instructor, Rick, was absolutely amazing. A very personable and entertaining guy, it was never unpleasant driving with him, and he really helped me a lot with my driving. I would never have passed the test without him, and I'd just like to thank him for all of his help and professionalism.
Fantastic experience: I learned a lot from Diane, she built up my confidence as a new driver and really made me comfortabke behind the wheel. She was always very funny and kind and showing all these little tips and tricks to help me out on my test and in the future. Really enjoyed my time with her as did my 3 younger brothers when they drove with her. I would absolutely recommend her and her driving school!
Fantastic experience: My daughter recently got her license after attending Crossroads driving school. We have nothing but good things to say about Diane and her instructors! She is very down to earth and accommodating. We found her pleasant and professional!!! I highly recommend this business.
Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional. Lacks common courtesy and respect. Highly insensitive and obnoxious remarks. Very demeaning attitude towards students. Very profane language and lots of screaming. Also very disorganized and wasted time.
In response to Manju, in regards to her son, Rajan Doering. He completed the thirty hours of classroom and 8 hours of on road driving instruction. At no point during his coursework or during his driving lessons, did we receive any type of phone call, email or text from anyone in the Doering family indicating that they were unhappy with the service Crossroads provided to their son. If Manju, Michael or Rajan had called and stated that they were unhappy with their instructor or any service we provided, we would have gladly switched instructors for his comfort level. Our instructor thought he may have visual problems and may need to have an eye exam, as he could not distinguish that he was parking on lines in parking lots. In addition when his was preforming his 3-point turns, he pulled to other side of road and would stop and not back up. Our instructor did become quite concerned for their safety when he would do this. We offer a 100% money back guarantee before a certificate is issued. We feel this review is cowardly, unjust and unfair, as it was posted after Rajan received his CS-1 (drive education certificate)
Negative experience: Rude, sarcastic and unprofessional, getting out of the car to argue with people in the front of her students and flipping people off... what is she teaching the kids? Road rage? And she owns the company???
Michael and Darija Durinick purchased a home at 42 Freeman Road, Middletown in June 2015. Prior to the Durinick’s purchase my company Crossroads Driving School, LLC used Freeman Road to practice 3-point-turns. The Durinick’s have never been a student or a parent of Crossroads Driving School. A complaint was filed with Middletown Police after Michael Durinick threatened to put nails on Freeman Road if we continued to practice 3-point-turns on “His Road”. The Middletown Police are aware of the situation and are monitoring the area to ensure everyone’s safety.
