Archway Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Emmit, we did it!! He is the best of the best. Never thought I would get a help from someone. You gotta listen if you are with Emmit while you are driving. You have to follow what he says. I recommend Emmit and his driving center. Don't worry about couple of hundred bucks when you spend in this driving center. You have to be confident in yourself. Nothing comes in an easy way. He speaks a lot which makes a lot of distractions but I think he is trying to teach you in the same way. If you don't honk on other drivers mistake he will yell at you . Lol!! He is an awesome instructor. I learned, got confidence, and I am happy as well as I got my license within short time with good skills and discipline. Try to be nice him because he is an Old person. Respect him, his time and the way he teach you. At the end of the day, you have to be yourself. I am 100% satisfied with his services.
Fantastic experience: Emmit, a very professional guy.
Fantastic experience: I am a 48 years of age and partially paralyzed (due to a stroke) on my right side from face to foot. I hadn't driven a vehicle in 17 years and wasn't sure if I could drive because of my disability. However, my desire to drive. (knowing that being able to do so would give me great independency!) dominated my thoughts 24/7 and it was so overwhelming that even sleep fled from me. Somehow, I just had to give it a shot!!! Family and friends did not trust me to operate their vehicle fearing that I would be an accident just waiting to happen. Yet, a niece finally came front and center and she allowed me to drive her car albeit it was so only several blocks under her nervous and watchful eye. But I tell you! --- that brief encounter behind the wheel not only reflected my capability in driving but it bolstered my commitment to obtain my driver's license and thus my independence. Oh I was motivated beyond anything that I'd experienced in my life. This was my green light!!! Despite my eagerness to go, I suddenly had to deal with this reality: I couldn't find anyone who would allow me to practice in their vehicle and take the road test. My situation was completely unbelievable and disheartening. Naturally, depression began sinking in. But I refused to give up. And that's when I discovered Emmit of Archway Driving School! Now mind you, I thoroughly researched Archway Driving School and I read all the reviews: positive and negatives. So seeing that the school's charges was appropriate to my Social Security disability income, I decided to give it a try. And I'm very glad I did! Again: I hadn't driven in 17 years. But after two hours of driving with Emmit, listening to his blustery rapid-fire instructions and conversation --- I felt ready to take the road test and was certain I would pass. I failed! My jubliancy turned quickly to despondency. Emmit allowed me to drive to our meeting location away from the DMV and continued with his rapid- fire conversation (which by the way is a tactical measure aimed to have you completely relaxed while driving) and assured me that the next time I'd pass the test. "Oh you'll pass the test with flying colors," he said. And as Emmit talked and talked it suddenly dawned on me that I was driving from the DMV with my RIGHT FOOT which is impaired! I told Emmit who was beaming with a smile and he said: "Yeah, I was aware of that at the very moment you started driving. But I wasn't going to say a word.Your brain just remembered and it came naturally." Now I was estactic and so many emotions swept over me because I would had never consciously attempted to drive with my stroke-side foot! I told Emmit that I wanted to take the road test again tomorrow to which he responded "No problem. You'll pass." Without any practice session, the very next day I took the road test again. Nevertheless, prior to the test Emmit advised me that he would not suggest which foot I should use to drive with but it was my decision alone. But his rapid-fire words completely relaxed me. The result? I PASSED!!! --- USING MY RIGHT FOOT!!! After just two hour sessions of driving, a 48 year old man suffering the effects of a major stroke and who hadn't driven in 17 years --- NOW IS IN POSSESSION OF HIS DRIVER'S LICENSE!!! And it's all because of Archway Driving School's instructor Emmit! I salute you Emmit! You gave me back my independence!!! For any of you considering Archway Driving School: It's an epitome of excellence in teaching you driving skills not just to pass the test but for a lifetime! Read all the negative comments --- but keep this at the forefront of your mind: Everything that is complained of is "tactical" to help you relax, to stay alert, to enable you to experience everyday driving situations and to benefit you! Emmit's ways are all designed in a "tactical" manner to aid you to expertly drive! Much love Emmit. Thank you so much!!!
Negative experience: Went through here a few years ago. Nice teacher, didnt compliment well with my learning style but I got what I wanted was taught to drive defensively. Took what I learned, had a friend come over at 6am in the morning when there was no traffic on the roads and practiced what I had been taught hands on by the teacher for 30 days. I passed my drivers test.
Negative experience: I wish I had an option to give zero reviews or negative. I have been coordinating with one of the guys from Archway for my first driving class. I was waiting from 10:30 in front of galleria mall. Scheduled to meet @11:40. He called and told that he will be late and will meet @ 11:50. I wait again and called him back 3 times around 11:52. He did not answer once. He calls me back @ 12:30 and says that I have been waiting here for 20 mins. I was standing in front of the mall during this entire time. He yells @ me and says get lost. They are terrible, disrespectful and waste your time to give one slot. I don’t suggest this place.
Negative experience: He is a good person, but not professional. Speaks a lottt and distracts you from the very beginning. Not clear in instructions.Yells a lot.forgets to teach important stuff ( for me parallel parking and didn’t take me to highway) If you are new to driving, I won’t recommend him. However, if you just want to brush up your skills, he is fine. There are good instructors out there, who knows what they are doing. After a few classes with him I went to another Instructor who was too good in teaching and I got my license.
Negative experience: Horrible phone edicute, does not show up on time and at least 15 minutes late, brings your kid back early, does not give receipts due to only taking cash, yells at the students when doing anything he does not like, and is extremely unprofessional. I would not use, there is a much better program with police that only costs 400 and is so much better. Stay away from this guy
Fantastic experience: Emmit, you were simply awesome and the best teacher one could ask for. You've been very patient and sweet throughout the learning process. Thank you so much Emmit for the beautiful teaching. I would really recommend Archway Driving School for anyone looking for a driving school. :)
Fantastic experience: First driving lesson today with Emment and he was great! He makes everything so fun. I learned so much in 2 hours, can't wait till second lesson!
