Flanagan's Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: 700 dollars when all said and done for 2 zoom classes and 10 hours of driving instruction with terrible scheduling options even though they claimed to be flexible at orientation. They didn't complete the temporary permit paperwork as they're supposed to, left vision test results and the course completion date blank. Making it hard for BMV to issue a 2 year permit. Better off just paying AAA since the students are required to complete the majority of the learning via AAA anyways. After waiting waiting 90 minutes to get to the window the agent spent 20 minutes on the phone and couldn't issue the permit because the school didn't submit records properly to the state showing when the course was completed. The instructor (owners father) yelled at my student and grabbed the wheel during instructions. Now we can't get a permit the Augusta office can't reach Flannigan's to get the completion date. I don't recommend using this school.
Negative experience: Under guise of communicating directly with students they do not set a driving schedule and are disorganized. Their phone number has changed and have not updated it on Google or their website. My student said that on his first drive, his instructor yelled at him twice. The instructor had football playing on the radio. I do not recommend this driving school. I have two other boys who attended Roy's driving school and had nothing but good things to say about their instructors
Fantastic experience: They're a very busy driving school, I was lucky to get an appointment due to a cancellation on. Amy was a very good instructor, I feel confident that the person I sent to the class will pass their road test.
Negative experience: I was told before I paid, what was included in the cost. I was told that a refresher hour just before the drivers license exam was included. I was also told that use of their car for my child to take said exam was included. Neither was fulfilled or accurate.
Fantastic experience: Very professional driving school, the instructors were very respectful and my drive instructor was very helpful and made my first 5 drives fun, educated, and a fun and safe way to learn how to drive. Would definitely recommend this driving school.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE the professionalism and the positive energy of the educators at Flanagan. My first kiddo had her as an instructor and my second one sadly couldn’t not get into Flanagans school because of Covid and had to attend another school out of Sanford and needless to say this was a fiasco. I hired Flanagan afterwards for some private driving lessons and boom my sons confidence grew immediately. I’m about to register my baby for this spring and no doubt I’ll chose Flanagan-only.
Negative experience: Not impressed observing from the back as the parent. I watched the instructor maneuvering the steering wheel for my son then once finished asked me- ""didn't he do a good job?" But my son didn't maneuver anything. Not good teaching skills
Fantastic experience: They taught me how to drive when I was 15 years old. My license has allowed me to travel to every state there is, except for Alaska and Hawaii, also to a couple of Canadian Provinces. I didn't realize then how important of a role this license was going to play in my life.
