Westside Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: My daughter really balked at going to driver’s training, but by the time she finished she thanked me for signing her up. She is 17 and is driving herself to early college. She feels confident and appreciates how thorough their instruction was and is readily “retraining” me when I drive. Well worth the money - plus discount from auto insurance company. Also, reading other reviews - I had an exceptional experience with Jen. Prompt communication and fast at providing a certificate for my car insurance. I highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: As a parent I was impressed with the communication received and the level of customer service and communication. Truly impressive. My daughter who was not thrilled to have to take the class now freely admits it was very beneficial. I saw the progress nearly immediately and she is a much safer driver as a result!
Fantastic experience: Impressed with the quality of service. Everything went better than expected.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Jen. She was very nice and patient. She explains everything clearly, takes her time to make sure you truly understand each skill, and never makes you feel rushed or stressed.I highly recommend Jen to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging instructor!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Richard K. My daughter took 2 driving lessons with him and he was wonderful and funny. We took the lessons right before her driving test and it totally helped her pass. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Jen was an amazing instructor she was alwayse wIlling to listen and was very clear on instruction never getting upset and always seeking to teach and inform amazing experience can't recommend her enough.
Fantastic experience: My daughter had her driving lessons with Richard K. I could not recommend him enough. She was so nervous and afraid but after just the first lesson her anxiety level dropped so much and it’s all thanks to Richard. And she passed her driving test on the first try☺️. It was also very convenient that she was picked up from home. They are very accommodating with scheduling hours. The only downside I think, its more on the pricey side.
Fantastic experience: I was afraid to drive...although I have had a permit for 2 years. I decided to take 4 lessons at school on the advice of a friend who already passed the test today thanks to the lessons at school. I thought, What if ... I will overcome fear! And I'm glad! I didn't regret it for a second! All my fears were gone after the first lesson. My teacher all 4 lessons was one - Elliot H. I will recommend him to all my friends, although I am sure that other teachers are worthy. Already in the first lesson, thanks to the knowledge gained, I was able to bring us to work, and in the second lesson we drove around the city learning different rules. I took 2 lessons a week. I took the 4th lesson today. I will try to consolidate my knowledge and schedule a test in the near future. I will also ask Jen to take their car for the test. Eliot has a unique learning system and angelic patience. If you have never had experience like me, then I highly recommend this team! Thank you! Best regards Kseniia
Fantastic experience: Elliot is a fantastic teacher! Great quality instruction and schedule worked well for us.
Negative experience: Just realized they've been charging my credit card $1 every once and awhile. I've never taken driving lessons, been to Oregon, or otherwise had any business with them.
Negative experience: I found Jen to be extremely unprofessional and concerned with numbers rather than quality. She withheld my sons certificate for 3 weeks after passing the class. She said was incapable of completing the certificates the week of passing, because she scheduled a vacation. She made him feel extremely uncomfortable during the drives. She is clearly incapable of handling as many students as she had during this session to which she admitted to via email. Don’t waste your money with this school. It’s not worth the hassle and time or wait.
Negative experience: Jen was very rude and showed absolutely no respect to me or my son. She was very disconsiderate, immature, rude, and over a bad person to be teaching your kids. Instead of trying to help them improve their driving calmly and in a mature manner, she would yell, scold, and snap out on my son and his driving partner. We send our kids here because we are stressed out about teaching them but when they are put under stress while learning to drive, it only makes them worse. Ive seen her also trying to hide other bad reviews about Westside Driving. I would give 0 stars if I could and I reccomend that you chose another driving school.
Negative experience: For anyone who’s reading this they started a new Westside driving school page so you won’t be able to see the horrible reviews of Jen. Please before booking read the REAL reviews on the other page that they’re trying to hide. Please search the other Westside driving school that’s located in Portland , Oregon. Both pages have the same number and same website. Just wanted to say because of my experience with Jen she traumatized me when it came to driving. And made me so insecure that I didn’t want to drive. For 2 years I avoided driving, and I finally found a good driving instructor and finally got my license. Literally after my lesson with Jen I would go home and cry. Because of how she treated me. Shame on Westside driving school for still keeping Jen as an instructor despite her horrible reviews on the other page! This is the review I left for Jen on the other page 2 years ago and got a total of 11 upvotes. “ I had Jen as an instructor and it was the worst experience. Instead of helping me find solutions she scolded me for every mistake that I did. She wasn’t helpful and she made my driving experience terrible. I had a couple lessons from her and I dreaded each one. She’ll talk to me as if I was a child and was very demeaning. If I didn’t get something instead of sitting down and explaining it to me , she’ll bash me for it. I’m not sure who I can talk to file a complaint. But she’s not fit to instruct new drivers and I wouldn’t wish my experience on any new drivers. Very sad that I wasted my money to want to better my driving experience and I didn’t learn not one thing. Besides her making me feel bad about what I don’t know which was the sole reason why I went to driving school in the first place.. if you’re a new driver please go to someone other than her.. Check out my review on yelp where I attached proof that I actually taken the course with Jen. Everything in this review is the truth of my experience with Westside driving school with the instructor/owner Jennifer Lingenfelter.” If you guys want proof that I taken lessons with Jen please check yelp and go to there OTHER page the one in Portland , Oregon.
Fantastic experience: Westside was an excellent driving experience for our teen. The instructor gave good feedback, made learning fun, unstressful. Jen was gracious and helpful when we had a special need.
Fantastic experience: Overall I enjoyed riding with Elliot H, he made the ride an overall good experienced, he answered any questions I had for him, and he was an overall great instructor
