Harlem Driving School

Fantastic experience: Martha got me licensed in no time. My transformation over 8 weeks was amazing. She built my confidence up and I was able to pass my road test in one shot. No cap.

Negative experience: Right now I'm only giving 1 star!! I initially brought my package on 2/24/25. I took my 5 hr class on 3/1/25. I was told I can pick up my certificate at the Lenox Ave location. I went there on 3/8/25, no certificate or in their file that I took it, but was promised they have record of my attendance. TODAY, I was scheduled for my 2nd lesson (which was put on their calendar on 2/24/25), I get there for my 1 pm lesson (on time), no instructor. Apparently, they doubled booked me and my instructor was with someone else who arrived b4 me. How does that work!?!? Should y'all checked to see who was booked 1st and when they were booked!?!?. Now, I have to wait for the instructor to call me on Monday to reschedule, SMMFH. I was warned about them, but I try to support business in my community. If this DOES NOT work out, I'll be going to a downtown driving school where it's more organized and conduct proper business!!

Negative experience: no words. Very terrible experience. Was lied on, was disrespected by everyone except for the nice man who taught me how to drive from the East Harlem location (we did two lessons after I requested a instructor switch). Please do not go here, traumatized from this experience and learned that people are evil. It actually took me close to two years to write this review because it was so hurtful to be lied on by the people here, and they knew they were in the wrong bc they offered me a free lesson, and then took it back. I’m a super easygoing person, I wish I was more confrontational because I had to get my parent involved so that I could leave with my dignity.

Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I got the 12 lesson package and loved every lesson. I went from a nervous beginner with no prior driving experience to a really comfortable driver. I highly recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: Thank you all, Martha you will be in my head every time im trying to parallel park. I appreciate all you did for me !!! Thank you for being patient, supporting me letting me know what I need to work on. I officially passed!! 12/2023 right before the new years !! Also to the instructor who helped taking me to my test you answered some questions and made me feel confident. Great school great staff.

Fantastic experience: So far I only done 3 classes and it's great . She is very nice and teach you so you can understand exactly what is needed to learn I have 4 more sessions to go in I'm excited about it .

Negative experience: I went on the website and attempted to register for a 5hr driving class. There is a registration link provided but when I clicked on it, it was a link to no where. There are credit card logos on their website implying that one could make a payment online. I attempted to call this establishment several times but no one ever answered the phone. I also attempted to contact them via email. However, no on ever replied. Therefore, since I live in the neighborhood, I went to this "driving school" ( location btwn145st and 146th and St. Nicholas Ave) in person where I was greeted by a woman at the front desk. She stated that I must make a $50 payment in cash in order to register and registration could only be done in person. However, the class is not scheduled in person. She explained that after making this in person cash payment, I should go back home and they would send me a zoom link to take the 5 hr class online. SMH Someone make this make sense! I would give 0 stars if I could. So, if you want to take a class here, remember don't call because they won't answer, don't email because they won't reply. Show up to this location in person with cash because they don't take any other form of payment. And don't expect an in person class. Go back home, get on your computer and look for the zoom link that they sent you to take the class from the comfort of your own couch

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this school for over a year now! My instructor the entire time has been Mary! She is amazing at training and she genuinely cares about students progress. I failed my test the first time I took it but I was met with a lot of encouragement from Mary who believes in me in the fact that I know the material! I’m back for the second time hopefully this is the last ‼️

Negative experience: Here’s Harlem driving school, illegally parked in front of their own business, blocking a bike lane and putting vulnerable road users at risk. The only review you need to see. Awful behaviour, and not somewhere anyone should be learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: One of the best driving schools, if not the best in Manhattan! So easy to get to by walking (as I live nearby).I went to two other driving schools prior to this one, and the professionalism shown here is incredible! Even Mr. Sall (the 5 hour instructor) gave us pointers. Today I passed my road test (just barely) and I had Martha as my teacher from this school. I'm so thankful to her and the receptionist (Mari) for correcting all my bad habits. Don't be fooled by the little waiting room! You'll be glad you went, trust me!

Fantastic experience: I just got my license thanks to Harlem Driving School! Mr.Sals 5hr class was great. The staff friendly and accommodating. Price is great. Highly recommend this school!
