The Milner Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Our oldest son took his lessons here as well as his driving test along with my nephew. We really loved that our sons would be learning from individuals who were well trained, cared about safety, and hold students accountable. The instructors are retired military, retired/off-duty police officers. Our son walked away with sound experience from knowledgeable instructors. We are looking to enroll our next child very soon. Atlanta, can be a dangerous city to drive in and I wouldn’t have my children take from anyone else. In addition they make everything very easy for you with paperwork and help you avoid as much interaction with the dmv as possible. Hugh +.
Fantastic experience: I went to driving school here when I first got my license here in 2012. I have fond memories of driving school and received excellent coaching. At Milner, they ensure their students get the necessary training to be law abiding, safe drivers. We spent a lot of time discussing the terrible repercussions of distracted driving. I wish everyone could go to Milner Driving School. Insurance in Atlanta sure would be a lot cheaper and the roads would be much less frustrating to drive. I came to check to see if the business is still in operation and was glad to see that it is. It is a family business offering a great product. I was disappointed to see many negative reviews from “Karens” who never attended school here and like to throw fits on the internet when businesses don’t change their policies to suit their every whim. I would like to set the record straight. If you’re looking for excellent coaching and straightforward, decisive teaching, then Milner offers a fantastic product that I highly recommend.
Negative experience: This school allowed students to bully another student by using phones and filters to share ugly photos of the student. The student withdrew from the remainder of the class. Students are NOT allowed to use phones, but that rule is not enforced. Milner, shame on you. You don't deserve new business.
Fantastic experience: I’ve used Milner driving school twice with two of my teens. Hands down the best driving school in the area. The instruction they provide is real with stories that stay in a teen’s mind. The driving instruction is top notch. The best part they can give your teen their driving test so you only need to go to DDS for processing. I tried another top rated driving school with my second son but came back to Milner. It’s out of the way for us now but it was worth it. A lot of driving schools in Atlanta get great ratings because it’s easy but the kids don’t learn anything. At Milner they learn the rules of the road, how to drive and are great drivers once they get their license. If you live anywhere in the area this is the place to go.
Fantastic experience: My kid is an excellent driver because of Milner. Thrilled with the results. He passed the driving test in the first try!
Fantastic experience: Our son learned there. Old school, no nonsense, just excellent training.
Negative experience: I called today to get more information about driving instruction for my daughter and the woman I spoke with hung up on me - after being horrifically rude and condescending . I simply asked about their contractual arrangement, insurance information and then why she was going to charge my card $800 before even letting me know what availability they have over the next few months. Why would I pay $800 if you cannot tell me if you can schedule after 4pm or on the weekends in the next 6 months? I called back and very nicely asked her why she hung up on me, and she said "we so busy, we no need you" - verbatim. Good...I don't need you either. If your employees can't answer simple questions without getting angry or defensive, you either need new employees or a better business model. It's too bad...they came highly recommended by a dear friend.
Fantastic experience: Mr. Milner is amazing!! After one session we saw such an improvement with our 16 year old son. We are continuing to see incredible progress after each session. We also worked with Major Mike who is equally as wonderful!!! We will definitely be returning with our younger son when the time comes!! You can’t put a price on your child’s safety, and they give your child all the tools and tips to keep your child safe!!!
Fantastic experience: Milner is the best driving school. Very genuine and caring people who were more helpful than anyone has been out of this whole probation experience.
Negative experience: I went to the Milner driving school and learned a little bit about driving and a lot about Kent Milner for some reason he talks about dead people and children with buckets the other driving instructors name is mine he’s pretty Cool Kent Milner talks about more history and stuff and gets off topic
Negative experience: We signed our daughter up for this driving school based on the recommendation of several friends. The in person class was scheduled to be held June 1-4 2020. An email and phone call the week before asking about social distance policies due to COVID-19 restrictions went unanswered. We brought our daughter to the class, only to discover that the class was operating in violation of the Governor’s executive orders in the COVID-19 pandemic, with 30+ people in a room, no masks and no social distancing. No health questionnaires, no temperature checks. The only precaution was a bottle of hand sanitizer. We removed our daughter from the class and requested a refund. No refund has been provided. Extremely disappointed. If they’re going to disregard health safety issues and laws, how can I trust them with my daughter’s driving safety? Will be pursuing legal options for a refund since they have not voluntarily provided one.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience and that’s from the kids point of view. Everything was geared for success and she truly enjoyed all the classroom and driving classes. She states that Mr. Milner’s teaching was very interactive and enjoyable. He was patient and made sure to explain things to her that was relatable for her. Have already recommended others to this group. Thank you for giving her the necessary tools to be on the road.
Fantastic experience: The best! I hardly ever give reviews but because of the one star given for failure to read the website themselves, I felt compelled. This is a small mom and pop shop. Literally. No 20-year-old teaching your child to drive. And my son said Mr Milner is super strict. He also thought he was amazing in a scary way. ;) I have already booked the class for my daughter too. I would not even consider taking her anywhere else. It would be “nice” if they refunded that lady’s money but they are a very busy small business. She took someone else’s spot and being too busy to not read isn’t enough reason for a business to be “nice”. To me, they were super helpful working with my son who was terrified to drive and had a few conflicts with driving times. This lady is the reason we have 80 pages of legalese to sign everywhere we go. Read. The. Website. It’s even on the payment page. Love Milner Driving!!!!
Negative experience: ** BUYER BEWARE ** I have requested a refund from Milner Driving School and they have refused. I have not received any services from the school or signed any contracts obligating me to these fees. On December 12, 2017 I called Milner Driving school to sign up my son for driving classes. I enrolled for classroom training, driving instruction and signed up for the final driving test. At this time I was NOT told that all sales were final. I did all of this during the busy holiday season and realized after speaking with my son later that there were conflicts with his robotics program and SAT tutoring. On December 15, 2017 I called to cancel the classes. I saw that other driving schools were offering courses over the holidays that would better work with our schedule. When I called Milner Driving School to cancel they told me that they do not give refunds. This caught me off guard and when I inquired further they offered to move the dates for instruction. These dates however were unacceptable to me because it would take many months before my son would be able to get his driving license. I let them know that these dates would not work and they insisted they would not give a refund. I told them that I needed to process this information and would be getting back in touch. On December 20, 2017 I called Milner Driving School again to tell them that I was definitely canceling and still expected a refund. I had received their contract in the mail and it did plainly state that they did not give refunds, but I had not signed this contract. They said that they would discuss this with Mr. Milner and have him get in touch. Mr. Milner never called me. Instead I received an e-mail with this message: Good Morning Mrs. Friedman, Susan talked with me about your enrollment. When you enrolled in our school we discussed that all transactions are final. We do not have a refund policy, Please let me know if we need to change any dates to fit Andrews schedule. Kind Regards, Sara Toth Milner Driving School I replied to them that I viewed this as unacceptable and still expected a refund. They had no signed contract from me and I had already signed my child up with classes at another driving school. I was not aware of the policy when I signed up. It has been 6 days and I have received no response to my e-mail and have never been contacted by Mr. Milner. Milner Driving School has no signed legal documents stating that I agree to their terms and conditions (specifically the policy of no refunds). I promptly called the school as soon as I realized there was issue with scheduling and at this time did not know about their policy (our classes weren’t even beginning for a month). The Milner Driving School loses nothing with my cancellation however I am out a lot of money with absolutely no services rendered. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Negative experience: I called to get information. She greeted well but as soon as I started talking about lessons, she said there is no one to help and give a call at 9 AM tomorrow. I called at 2 PM for Christ's sake.
