Nicastro's Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: My daughter attended classes at Dalton who has since merged with this school. We had prepaid Dalton $700 towards the $1050 it costs for the full teen program. She got maybe 20 hours of classroom instruction out of the required 30 by the state of Massachusetts. It was such a poor experience and then reading the horrible reviews of this school we made the decision to go elsewhere for her on the road portion. Upon trying to get a partial refund for the overpayment I made I have been completely ignored by both the Daltons as well as the people at Nicastro. I would strongly suggest taking your child anywhere but here.
Negative experience: Zero stars and could give negative stars if there was such a thing. Very unprofessional business, with 2 recent complaints on BBB and other client complaint just while I was sitting in their “office” waiting for something to be done/resolved! They simply don’t care about their clients .
Negative experience: A couple years ago I had a great experience with Nicastro's Driving school. Teachers were kind and the classes were always fun and interesting. I understand it's harder now doing it through zoom but after sitting and listening to my younger sibling doing classes I'm both disappointed and appalled at what I was hearing. A teacher, Ruthy Hope, Ruthless and hopeless apparently. Student was asked a question and after answering correctly was rudely and aggressively interrupted with " STOP. TALKING STOP TALKING". Now thats just one example of her disgraceful behavior. Overall, she was condescending, disrespectful and demanded full and complete submission from her students. I can't imagine a good explanation for an insecure middle aged woman has to bully teens but I hope it's a good one....
Negative experience: First I want to talk about my experience I had appointments scheduled in advance, and when they had openings they moved my wife’s appointments into those spots without any confirmation, that resulted in two missed appointments, then on the next appointment, the driver was supposed to pick my wife up at our house and instead he was waiting at the driving school and we weren’t notified about this. On the fourth scheduled appointment when my wife finally got with a driver they did not accept her permit, she had the permit online digitally and wouldn’t explain to her why, left her with no answers and crying. So then when i called to talk to them about what happened the lady taking the phones was very rude insisted that it was not their fault. I asked multiple times if she would give my number to the owner so i could explain my experience but that never happened, i hope anyone seeing this review, don’t waste your time and money with this company they do not care about anything
Negative experience: These people don't value your time. Because they refuse to give me my certificate, I have wait 3 MONTHS for my road test :(
Fantastic experience: At Nicastro's Driving School you get instruction from teachers who care about putting safe drivers on the road. The staff adhere to strict RMV guidelines in the classroom and on the road instruction. This school holds the highest standard in safety and I would recommend them to anyone not just new drivers!
Negative experience: Absolutely awful driving school, so unprofessional my dad has shown up 2 times for parent classes and both times no teacher was there. Now I have to wait another month to get my license
Negative experience: School is terrible at keeping class dates. Impossible to talk to anyone on the phone.
Fantastic experience: At Nicastro's Driving School, dba Beverly Driving School we pride ourselves in customer service, thorough lessons, attention to detail and attempting to satisfy All of our customers. In the past 30 years we have licensed over 15,000 driver's. Pretty impressive.
Negative experience: Place is a scam $175(witch dose not ocver the $35 rmv fee so $210 in total) to use their car for 10 minutes for the driving test and I failed one of the reasons is because of one of there instructors were in the car with me and instead of sitting there keeping his mouth shut decided to open it and confused me so I failed because I got directions from two different people
Negative experience: To start, the instructor was texting while driving, nearly swerved into a telephone pole, and did back the car into the fence all in one drive. If you value safety of yourself and others, you should avoid them at all cost. Not to mention that they're completely unprofessional in plenty of other ways, such as rude drivers, hard selling lessons, foul language, reckless driving, consistent tardiness, losing appointments, and lying about scheduling tests. To top it all off, they're just about the most expensive place on the northshore. And just an fyi, they're also Beverly Driving School now, so you'll receive all the same terrors there too. Again, this isn't just administrative issues, they hire reckless sponsors/ instructors who are supposed to be teaching new drivers. I was genuinely afraid while their driver was behind the wheel, and rightfully so as after many hard turns, speeding, and looking through their purse and phone, they did hit something! I had used them before this nightmare, and while the other driver was not as bad as this, they were still less than professional. Do not support this company, they are not professional or safe. Trust me, it's not worth it to stay local.
Negative experience: Nicasto's is an absolute rip off. Unfortunately they have a monopoly in Gloucester so you really have no choice but to go to them. And if you do go through them to take the drivers test without taking their course they make you pay an obscene amount of money, which I'm pretty sure they pocket for a profit but the instructors they have to administer the test will lie about thing you've done wrong so you can't pass. I'm my opinion they need to be investigated and shut down. Beyond all that the son of the owner is a womanizing creep. STAY AWAY FROM NICASTROS AT ALL COSTS!
Negative experience: Unprofessional "sponsor" ...paid lots to test she wouldn't shut up....requested she would not show me "course" she ignored my request (i paid her). Reported to rmv they confirmed that no driving school should ever "show" course. Apparently rmv investigating nicastro on 11x complaints in 90 days! Do not pay $200.....so many other schools from lynn to beverly charge $75-115 for "sponsorship" and everywhere except nicastro gives you 3-5 min in car prior to test and doesn't try to bilk a "class fee'" from you! Their sponsorship fee is 1.5-2x anyway....oh and they text test administrator....ma rmv states this is "disallowed" by any driving school at any rmv road test site.
