Fantastic experience: If you’re an experienced driver, it can actually be harder to adapt to California driving. You already have habits formed, and the truth is that some things are different here. If you don’t deliberately prepare for them, it’s easy to make a critical mistake during the exam. I had an absolutely incredible experience with this driving school. Even though I failed the first time, they immediately helped me reschedule and set up another practice session. Thanks to their support, I passed the second time! They were so kind — and honestly so surprised that I didn’t pass the first attempt — that they even offered me a discount. I can’t recommend them enough. One important piece of advice: don’t practice with friends who don’t rigorously follow the rules. Bad habits will slip into your exam, and you’ll risk failing and wasting precious time.

Fantastic experience: I needed a car for a driving test and this school helped me to reserve it the last minute. Moreover I had one lesson with the owner before the test and it was awesome! Very informative and crucial for successful examination. Thanks for your great service!

Negative experience: I had a driving session scheduled with Sterling Driving School at 4pm on the 6th March, it started raining that day at 3:30, I attempted to call the instructor to reschedule as I am a beginner driver and I felt it is dangerous for me to drive in the rain. I found a call from them, when I called back they said they are already in front of my house and asked if I wanted to start early. I expressed my fear to drive in the pouring rain and they assured me saying it is okay to do o and that in fact ( it is easier to drive in the rain.) I agreed because he was already in front of my house but refused to start early and went down five minutes before the session is supposed to start. During the first 50 minutes it was pouring and I was very anxious. The instructor gave me multiple discouraging comments about not been practicing on my own between this session and the last session, not understanding that I am paying this much money for the practice. Around 35 minutes before the session ends we were driving back to my house and the instructor claimed that we need to finish early because we started early, I hade to call him out saying that we have at least 25 minutes left. we went for another round and still finished the session 10 minutes early, it seemed like I was begging for the time I paid for or was trying to take something that is not mine. I attempted to contact the school after telling them what happened, on which they replied we will look into it and get back to you tomorrow. After 3 days I did not receive any calls so I attempted to call them and spoke with the manager directly and had to explain everything all over again. The manager not only did not let me speak. she interrupted every sentence in the most offensive way and she said "so what do you want us to do" when I expressed that this is not the right way to talk with a customer she said "we encourage you to take your business to another school" and hung up on my face!

Fantastic experience: Sterling is GREAT for both online and hands on drivers training! Excellent communication (they were always SO nice) for scheduling lessons and payments, instructors were always on time with lessons, and both my kids learned everything they needed to pass their drivers test on the first try with near perfect scores. Great job Sterling!

Fantastic experience: I totally highly recommend. The instructor is very patient, kind, and friendly. Answered all my questions. Helped me with all needed work on. I passed the test in my first try. Were able to work with my schedule for times to meet. Always returned my phone calls within Seconds to 1minute. If you need that extra help to get your license call sterling.

Fantastic experience: I recently moved from the UK to the US, so I had a couple of adult lessons with Sterling Driving School and then I did the driving exam session - I used their car for the behind-the-wheel test. Sterling Driving School were outstanding for every aspect - booking lessons was easy, the driving instructors were exceptional, test preparation was amazing. I strongly recommend learning to drive with them / learning how to pass the behind-the-wheel test.

Fantastic experience: All of the driving instructors from here have given me the knowledge of what it takes to be an amazing driver! They made driving for me seem like fun, rather than a chore. They also helped give me more confidence behind the wheel and took me through a bunch of different scenic areas all throughout Santa Cruz County. If you ever find yourself in need of driving practice, or aren’t too sure which driving school you, or your loved one should go, DEFINITELY at least consider this driving school! All of the driving instructors whom taught me were a lot of fun and I am very grateful to have learned more on how to drive from this school!

Fantastic experience: Since my teen received his learners permit, the team at Sterling have been there supporting his learning in driving. Thank you so much for the final lesson this week. My teen felt confident and passed his driving test the first time and with high scores. This school has great instructors, reasonable fee, and my son enjoyed attending! Thank you!

Negative experience: Well, they helped my confidence, but didn't help me pass. Apparently, it's NOT ok to turn right on red when there's a car coming in THE NEXT LANE OVER! Pretty sure I did that at least once during one of my 3 lessons and the instructor didn't comment. Also, no matter what the instructors think, THERE ARE NO PHOTO RE-TAKE OPTIONS unless the DMV decides your photo doesn't look like you.

Fantastic experience: in my forties, and finally learning to drive. I was a bit apprehensive about it, but I shouldn't have been. I am in the middle of a course of lessons from Sterling, and actively enjoying each one. My driving instructor from Sterling has been great, and each lesson is well judged, introducing new situations without becoming overwhelming. There is also a continuous engagement that reinforces all the good habits of a driver, and gently pointing out newly developing bad habits. In particular I feel like I am being taught how to drive, not simply how to pass the driving test, with lots of pragmatic advice. Update: I passed my test first time !!
