Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Alert. Alan is calm and made my child feel comfortable. Schedule the drives very quickly with no issues. Highly recommend.
I am glad that you're both satisfied with my service, Tiffany. Thank you for the positive review.
Fantastic experience: Alan is professional, calm and experienced expert who catches really quick on what areas you need to focus and work on while driving! I came to know about lot of new things while learning driving from him, he is always on-time & prompt in response! I enjoyed learning and passing my DMV test in short span of time! Thanks Alan & keep doing great job as always! I will definitely recommend Alan for new & experienced drivers!
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning to drive a car with Alan. He made me extremely comfortable behind the wheel and made me a confident driver. Thanks to his training and instructions, I passed my driving test rather easily. I recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly driving instructor.
AJ, I appreciate the positive feedback. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Fantastic experience: We just had our second daughter train with Alan of Alert Driving Training and, as with our first, it was a great experience. Alan is thorough and professional. We highly recommend Alert Driver Training!!!
Kathleen, I count it a privilege to work with teens as they learn how to drive safely. Your favorable review encourages me to continue to assist others as they pass this milestone.
Wishing you all the best!
Alan
Fantastic experience: Alan is a great instructor! From day one - he showed a sense of calm, patience and is incredibly professional. Learning to drive is a huge milestone and can be a nerve-wracking one. Alan made the entire experience smooth, safe and even enjoyable for my son. He not only taught the rules of the road but also instilled a deep sense of confidence and responsibility behind the wheel. And he passed on the first try! Thanks Alan! My son felt respected and supported. So as a parent, that peace of mind is priceless. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about their students and takes the time to teach them the right way to drive… then you want Alan. Highly recommended!
It's sentiments such as this that remind me why I chose to become a driver education instructor. I appreciate your recommendation, CJ, and please know that your fine parenting skills shine brightly through your son!
Fantastic experience: I just tooked a roadtest with sir Alan, he was so niced, and he refresh me first before we start a roadtest I’m super happy I found the right driving School. he is super friendly and help me to boost my confidence in driving. He’s very patient. I highly recommended him this is the best driving School. I passed my first roadtest. to those want to learn about driving or do the roadtest this is the best driving school for yall. 5 star is not enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend going to take the drivers test with Allan. He failed my stepson today saying he was speeding. My stepson was doing 43 in a 45, and Allan said it was a 35 mph zone. Later, Allen admitted to reviewing the video footage and said the 35 mph sign was missing. So my stepson had no way of knowing it was a 35mph zone. Technically, my stepson was adhearing to all posted speed limit signs he came across and was not speeding. Then Allan said my stepson failed due to parallel parking more than 18 inches away from the curb woth the right front tire. At this point, I question the legitimacy of Allans testing skills if he isn't aware of the road signs he is grading his students on how can he be sure the parallel parking was done incorrectly. Was a tape measure used to measure the distance from curb? And as a state examiner if my stepson was infact speeding more than 5 mph over the posted speed limit the driving test should have ended immediately and not continued on further to the parallel parking. Allan gets a failed examiners test in my book on this one. Rememeber he "adheres to the rules strictly"., or when he deems necessary.
After 900+ tests along this route, this was the first time that the 35 mph speed limit sign was not in place on the road in question. During the test, I sensed something was off, but as I cannot tell a student to deviate from the test route, I decided to let your son continue the test. When your son parallel parked, I got out of the car and did a walk-around, as I usually do. I do not need a tape measure to determine the distance of the tires from the curb, as I have laid out two yellow stripes that are both 18" from the curb, and could clearly see that while one tire was within the required distance, the other was not. When this is the case, I get behind one barricade and sight along toward the second barricade to see if any part of the car besides the side mirror is sticking out beyond the parking space, and this was the case with your son's parking position. Later that evening, I reviewed my dashcam footage and confirmed that the 35 mph speed limit sign was not in place as usual, and told your wife that I was not failing your son for the speeding violation, but that he did not pass because of the car sticking out in the traffic area during parallel parking. I have administered the road test to over 960 people, and I pride myself in doing so as honestly and skillfully as possible. I do not arbitrarily score students to any preconceived agenda as you imply. I give each of my students the benefit of the doubt, but I will not compromise my principles to make my students or myself look good. My first and foremost concern is that new drivers demonstrate enough expertise to handle a vehicle properly for their safety and the safety of everyone else on the road.
Ps. I have sent a request to the Public Works department of the city of Rock Hill for a replacement for the aforementioned sign.
Fantastic experience: Mr. Alan is so calm and pleasant to speak with. I am very happy that he was highly recommended by my best friend. For all parents out there looking for a driving school in Rock Hill, SC, look no more, please reach out to Alert Driver Training ASAP! I gave him 5 stars and would definitely use him again when my son's turn to drive! Thank you Alan for providing excellent service:)
It was gratifying to know I was referred to you by a friend. I am pleased to hear that you were satisfied with my service. I look forward to working with your son in the future.
Fantastic experience: I passed the driving test the first time thanks to Alan Backley. The explanation on everything was 10/10. I highly recommend him.
Thank you for the recommendation, Besiana. I wish you and your family the best for your future plans!
Fantastic experience: 100% recommended. Very nice service. Mr.Allen is a very good teacher. His tutoring is amazing. It was so so much helpful for me.
Simki, thank you for your recommendation. I am pleased to know that you found my assistance helpful.
Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend to anyone who is starting to drive. Alan is very calm and patient. Gives good feedback on what to work on. Alan always takes the time to answer any questions. Always found a way to schedule driving lessons without making me wait a long time.
Thank you for the positive review, Rafael. I try hard to accommodate my students’ unique needs. May all your travels be trouble-free.
Fantastic experience: Alan was such a professional and was truly a Godsend. We had started with another company in the summer and were told that they would contact us for my sons six hour driving part of the school. They stated they needed his number to contact him directly. After months of no contact we called Alert and Alan was able to set him up within a week and Jaden had the best experience. Alan came to our home and picked him up for his first day. He was so nice and explained everything to us which made us feel comfortable with him. He was prompt to answer our questions and made everything so easy. Jaden actually learned so much from him. He took his time with Jaden and explained the things he needed to work on prior to coming back for his test. I would recommend Alert Driving to everyone! Not only is he prompt but he really cares about his students and parents. I would give him more stars if I could!!!!!
Aundi, it was a pleasure working with you and your son. I feel honored that you entrusted me with teaching Jaden on the road. Your kind words mean a lot!
Fantastic experience: We found this program online and glad we did. They are worth every dollar. Alan who owns/runs the program is very responsive to emails/text messages and answers all of your questions timely. He makes the entire process so easy. My son attended his 8 hour class as well as received driving lessons. Alan made the driving lessons so easy with picking my son up at school and returning him home after the lesson. He provides a report for each driving session so you know exactly what you need to work on at home with your child. We enjoyed the program so much we did our own home training but signed our son up for additional lessons prior to him going for his road test. Again, my son recieved a report for each driving lesson so prior to going to the road test we knew exactly what our son needed to work on. And the best part that made it all worth it to us was, after our son was ready for the road test we were able to do the road test with Alert/Alan so our son went into the road test with less nerves since he had familiarity with everything. I really appreciate all the help and support. Great program. If you are a parent that is nervous about teaching your child to drive then you should seriously consider this program.
Thank you for the positive review, Elizabeth. As a small business owner, it's not always easy to keep up with all of my clients, all of the time, but I do my best to be responsive to their needs. It is encouraging when I see parents such as yourself actively working with their teen to prepare them for the road. I wish you and your son continued success in navigating life's highways.
Fantastic experience: Alan is great!! He is very thorough and took the time to really TEACH my teenage son, not just watch him. Alan was also extremely accommodating with regards to scheduling. My son’s schedule is hectic but Alan worked with us to get all driving lessons and testing scheduled. Couldn’t be more pleased!
Lydia, thank you for the complimentary review. I do try my hardest to work with my students' schedules, which at times seem to be busier than mine! It is my hope that Logan continues to be a safe driver on into the indefinite future.
Fantastic experience: Alert Driver Training was the perfect source for my son. The 8 hour class was convenient and conducted in a manner that my son walked away with valuable information. Scheduling the driving lessons was convenient and a lotted that it didn't take 6 months to complete. Mr Alan would send appointment reminders, he made pick-up and drop-off convenient for both student and parent. I highly recommend using Alert Driver Training for your future drivers.
I am glad both of you were happy with my service. It is my goal to make the process of learning to drive simple, straightforward and satisfying.
Fantastic experience: Alan, was the second driver school for my son. Originally he took the class at 803 Drivers Ed and that was like a meat market. Way too many people in those classes to be effective. Alans classes are small and have a more personalized setting. Alan keeps in touch with the students between driving sessions and grades each session with a report card. The student then knows what to practice, not only to pass the course, but to become a better driver. Very well thought out and executed training program. I would highly recommend Alan to anyone concerned with actually learning to be a safe driver and to pass the driving test with confidence.
Mr. Albin, your kind words are very much appreciated. I do aim to provide individualized attention to each and every student. My goal is not just to pass the test, but to encourage proper driving habits that promote safety and last a lifetime.
Fantastic experience: My instructor was Sharon, she is a very nice lady. I had a wonder Experience and I would recommend this class for others.
Negative experience: Spent 80 dollars for two driving tests during COVID. Allan failed me both times for things that could have been flexed. I am a very good and safe driver. Even though he saw this he still failed me. Even after rescheduling because of car problems. If you are trying to pass I would recommend going to a different driving school while the dmv is closed.
I understand your frustration, Carter. But please understand that while I do extend a degree of latitude, I do not bend the rules for violations such as illegally parking in the street area or running up on top of a curb. I explained to you before the test that some of my routes' test sections have a curb, and that you should stay about one foot away from it. And your mother said that while you practiced parallel parking beforehand, you didn't practice your backing, the part resulting in the second fail. It is not my intent to fail anyone, but it is just a fact that nobody is guaranteed that they will pass the road test.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic instructor!! I highly recommend Alan and his class. My daughter has high anxiety levels and she felt very much at ease with him. Alan is patient with his students and more than accommodating. Thank you so much for a positive experience!
Fantastic experience: Great investment in our children's driving. Money well spent and a great experience.
Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend. However if you do take the course don’t take the test with him. He charges 35$ to take the test with him and I still failed. (Failed due to sticking out 2 inches on parallel parking. Claimed I did outstanding on the rest of the test. But failed me due to 2 inches) go to a local dmv. Chester has less business.
I'd love to have every single one of my students pass the road skills test every time. That would actually make me look pretty good as an instructor. The reality is that not everyone passes the first try. There are strict rules that SCDMV has put in place in order to pass the road skills test, and they are the same, whether you choose a Third Party Tester or a local DMV branch. I abide by those rules, and so should everyone who drives on the road. Because the bottom line is, we all need to be safe drivers.
Stay alert...Stay alive.
Alan
Fantastic experience: After multiple attempts (and fails) at the dmv for the road test, I hired Alan for a 2 hour session to see what the issue was with my daughter's skillset. He pinpointed the areas she needed to work on, and after two weeks of practice on her own, she then did her test with him and she passed the first try. He is very nice and makes the students feel at ease. I highly recommend him for teens and young adult drivers. My son will be taking the full class as soon as he gets his permit!
Fantastic experience: I signed up my son and daughter together with Alan for his course. His pricing is more reasonable than most of the competition, plus he gave us a sibling discount that saved me $50! Both of my kids had nothing but praise for the Alert program. I can see a positive difference in their skills. Even without the insurance discount, it is money well spent. I highly recommend Alert Driver Training!
Fantastic experience: There's always a ton of nervousness going into a driver's ed environment but this class really diffused the tension for me as a student and as a result I learned a whole lot more than I would have had I been nervous.
Fantastic experience: This place was way better than the other driver trainings like 911! I scheduled my drives easily and Alan helped me schedule my rides in a quick time frame that was easy for me. I strongly recommend Alert Driver Training to anyone looking to get their restricted or full license due to the simplicity of scheduling rides, the affordable price, and the availability of options you have to make your drives match your schedule!
Fantastic experience: Great instructor. The class was engaging and teaches all information necessary to pass the test. For the driving sessions you're picked up at your home or wherever you choose. He showed up on time, if not a few minutes early every time. I was able to practice everything I needed to as much as I'd liked, and got specific tips and pointers for everything. He gives the test as well, so you take it in the same car you practice in. By the time I took the test I was more than ready and passed on the first try.
