Elite Steering Driving School

Fantastic experience: Just passed my road test today! I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn how to drive properly and doesn't have anyone to teach them. This school really helped me to be a confident and skilled driver on the road. Shantel was the instructor I needed! She is such a patient and understanding teacher who helped me to gain confidence on the road. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had a great experience with Elite, specifically her driver, Tony. We signed up for 6 hours BTW and the online courses. I could tell after her first lesson that it was money well spent. It does take a bit from when you sign up to when lessons are available but for us that was a nonissue. Thanks Tony for your excellent instruction!

Positive experience: As I see others are also having trouble with communication. We signed up and paid in full for my stepsons driving lessons 2 months ago! He was told he would have his BTW the beginning of December. That has come and gone with no communication from them, other than them telling us they will get in contact with us. We have left multiple messages, texts and emails on my stepsons behalf. I am willing to raise this star review as soon as we are contacted and driving lessons are completed. UPDATE: I'm changing it up 3 stars as the 6 hours behind the wheel have been completed, but he didn't get the signed waiver. I have learned now that they should've told us that we need to purchase more hours to complete the waiver to avoid the road test at the DMV. I have emailed them and waiting for response.

Fantastic experience: If excellence were a person, it would be Tammy! She’s such a hands-on and dedicated teacher who supported me every step of the way. Throughout my journey, she took the time to understand my schedule, made adjustments when needed, and always made communication feel easy and open. Tammy, your patience, encouragement, and genuine care made such a difference. I’ll never forget the impact you’ve had on me. Negative experience: I am giving one start because I was so disappointed by this driving school. I am gonna start with the first part where I took the 30h classes plus the 8h BTW. It was already a pain an ass for the scheduling process after taking the class for BTW. The first time I finally got scheduled BTW I did not know that I was supposed to meet Shantel at the Fargo South or whatever. I got charged $30 because I didn't show up for a location I did not even know about. When driving with Jon afterward, everything wasn't fully explained while we were on the road. the worse part was when he wanted to got me tested on the road so he could give me the waiver. Before that, I had to pay for two more hours because I didn't feel comfortable. He didn't properly show me the parallel parking and expected me to get it right when I was doing it on the last day. I pay all that money for not getting the waiver at the end. He told me I should go through the hold process again if I wanted to get the waiver. I called the NDDOT and talked to other schools, and they all told me I should not be doing the whole process again. They were so s If I had to go back, I wouldn't have chosen this school. I regretted it and will for the rest of my life.

Positive experience: As another reviewer stated, communication and scheduling is not a point in Elite's favor. My wife paid for lessons 2 months ago, and still has not had a lesson. While some miscommunication can be credited to her, Elite has often failed to answer her messages or emails, and I have had to contact them to assist her. Changes have been promised so she can conveniently schedule her lessons, but they haven't actually been made. I'd be happy to revise this review once we've received the service we've paid for, but as we have only seen the lack of communication, there's nothing I can say to recommend Elite at this time. UPDATE: Bumping up my review to 3 stars. First of all, my wife's driving instructor, Shantel, was great. Every lesson had something new or focused on something my wife needed to improve on. Great instructor - 5 stars. The review stays at 3 because of the initial communication issues with the driving school/owner. The slow, seemingly uninterested responses were frustrating. Everything improved quickly once I left this review, but frankly, it shouldn't have come to that.

Fantastic experience: I take these classes from Ali Abdi and I get my license within a week. He teaches and helps me to learn driving in a safer and professional way.

Fantastic experience: My instructor Shantel was one of the best people I’ve ever came across! She spoke light into me and took away the fear I was facing before getting on the road. If I could give her a 10 star I would! She’s a very patient and motivated person. She made every lesson comfortable for me and each lesson my fear would go out the window & she always believed in me and that is someone I’ll always thank for over coming my fear! She definitely has impacted my life & I would highly recommend Shantel to anyone who has doubt about getting behind the wheel! Thank you for this experience.

Fantastic experience: Signed my 15 year old up for the 30 hour online drivers safety and 6 hour behind the wheel. Everything was simple: accessing the website, scheduling lessons online, reviewing feedback and route after each behind the wheel lesson, communicating with Tammy. Tammy was great! This was a great experience and I would highly recommend. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Shantel was an excellent instructor for our daughter! We couldn’t be happier with how the entire process went! Once she completed her driving test, ESDS had all her paperwork completed within a few hours, which was incredible!

Fantastic experience: Our second child recently completed the driving program with Elite Steering Driving School, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The girls felt at ease behind the wheel with Jon as their instructor. I highly recommend Elite Steering to other families seeking a driving program.

Fantastic experience: We have had an amazing experience with Elite Steering for drivers education. The online classroom portion is very informative and comprehensive. The material is presented in a relatable way for teens and they can pace themselves based on school and extracurricular activities. The ‘Behind the Wheels ‘ portion was a great way for our daughter to get the instruction she needed in another way besides my teaching. Sometimes it means more when someone else does the teaching. It alleviated a lot of stress and we feel our daughter is a really good driver, ready for the roads.

Fantastic experience: Tammy was the best person ever to do my driving with, she was a very good person to get along with and helped out with everything I needed to know, ELITE STEERING DRIVING SCHOOL is highly highly highly suggested, it’s an awesome program to learn how to drive in and out of town. They will help you with anything you want to know, from driving the car or how to operate the car. 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Shantel was truly amazing with me, she's friendly and knows the right way of talking you out of your fears. I highly recommend her if you ever need lessons because as a person who was scared of the road, she made me comfortable with it!

Negative experience: It is frustrating that the website doesn't explain there is a prerequisite for the 2 hours of driving, yet I'm charged a $30 fee for the oversight. My suggestion would obviously be to add in a description stating that or only let people register for the 2 hours after they've enrolled in other courses that "are" required.

Negative experience: Very unresponsive, I have been emailing them to schedule my son's BTW as the instructors do not post anything. In the last 5-6 months my son has only had 2 hours out of the 6 required.

Fantastic experience: Tammy is a great instructor! Her behind the wheel lessons were great, and she's very relaxed and understanding. I would highly recommend taking lessons from her as she helped me be confident in my ability to drive.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed being able to receive lessons from Tammy. She is a nice person and has taught me a lot of useful knowledge that I would need to pass my road test during my 6 hours of behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: I loved Tammy!! She was super sweet & fun & really gave me the confidence boost I needed! I don’t think I’d be nearly as much as a confident driver as I am without her. (Thanks for the pop-socket Tammy :D)

Fantastic experience: I had Tammy as an instructor in Grand Forks. She was really nice to me, shared a lot about her, was very respectful and helped me learn a lot about driving!

Positive experience: Amazing lessons. Helped me learn a lot about the ways of the road. But the website and scheduling was very un user friendly. And customer service was also kind of meh and slowly responsive.

Fantastic experience: My daughter finished her online course and driving lessons with Jon and he is absolutely amazing! He was great with her and taught her the correct way to drive and not "mom's" way which is full of bad habits! Would recommend to any new driver!
