Austin Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Mr Brown did a great job with our daughter from start to finish! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the 5 stars and the feedback!
Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this driving school. In addition to the unprofessional behavior and rude attitude from the staff, I noticed unequal treatment toward certain people, which made me feel that there was a clear bias and lack of empathy. Some interactions even had racist undertones, which is unacceptable in any setting, especially in a place where people are supposed to feel supported while learning to drive.
Negative experience: I tired to do my behind the wheel/defensive driving course but it didn't help that I had to go in person instead of doing it on their website. Also they NEED to update the Austin driving school website.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! please do not go here unless if you are trying to get yelled at for simply asking a question to try to purchase their services, they are extremely rude and disrespectful. i read reviews prior to going to the office and thought maybe people were exaggerating but believe me when i tell you no one is the exempt from getting chewed out for absolutely no reason
Negative experience: Do not go to this location for any assistance or information on anything. We walked into location and were not welcomed in. After walking in to get more information on getting a teen driving course and was immediately told to look online. The lady didn't even bother or was patient enough to listen to our request. Then I proceeded to help and pull out my phone to show her and see if she can help choose a program. She then pointed to one on the website and said that's the one. Didn't even seem to be too knowledgeable on what she chose or know what we exactly needed. Very disappointed and wasted time here today.
Positive experience: Mr. Brown is an excellent instructor. Office needs to update the record keeping. To me office personnel were always cordial in person and over the phone and no one yelled or humilated my child, if that had been the case, my review would be different.
Negative experience: If you look through the comments there is a person mentioned by name Leo Tellier. This guy is unprofessional and bad at his job. I paid in full for the driving and the test ($465) this guy proceeded to accuse me of not paying and told me produce a receipt. I did not have the receipt on hand, as I was there just to schedule the driving test with my daughter. I would have thought this info was on file in his records…. regrettably it was not according to him. And that's why I went ahead and paid for the test again. After returning home, my wife produced the receipt in question. I called back and got someone other than Mr. Tellier and of course they tell me that I am paid in full and got a refund. I normally wouldn’t even write this, but this guy was such a mess I had to let people know. I will say that the instructor Mr. Brown is excellent if it wasn’t for him this would be 1 star.
Dear Mike,
We apologize for the unprofessionalism and inconvenience you experienced with Leo. Accusations and miscommunication regarding payment should never happen, and we understand your frustration. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. It's regrettable that you had to pay for the test again due to the lack of receipt on hand. We're glad to hear that upon contacting someone else, you were able to confirm your payment and receive a refund.
We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. We're glad to hear that Mr. Brown, the instructor, provided excellent service during your experience. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. If there's anything else we can do to assist you or improve your experience, please let us know. Thank you for sharing your feedback and giving us the opportunity to rectify the situation.

Negative experience: Mr. Leo Tellier, the secretary, is the worst and shouldn’t be in a position where children are involved. They say they’re gonna take care of this and they take care of nothing. This man has been there for years and is still there terrorizing kids when instead they should be having an enjoyable experience learning to drive. He doesn’t care (said it himself). If I could give this place zero stars, I would. These people have a job because of the kids who take lessons and the parents who pay for it. The least they could do is treat kids with kindness, but they clearly don’t care. The only good person here is Mr. Brown. Mr. Tellier yelled and humiliated my daughter for getting nervous and failing her driving test (we pay for two chances exactly because kids get nervous). Instead of being compassionate, this man felt it was necessary to make my daughter feel worst just because he can. He questioned her about why she failed and proceeded to remark that she didn’t even make it out of the parking lot. This man is rude, condescending and just ugly to anyone who steps in that office. Save your money, your sanity and your children’s confidence and go somewhere they’ll treat them and you with empathy and respect. This is not the place!
Dear Jossie,
We deeply apologize for the negative experience you and your daughter had with Mr. Tellier. Treating our students with kindness, empathy, and respect is of utmost importance to us, and we regret if we failed to meet those standards in your case. We understand the importance of creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment, especially for young drivers.
We take your feedback seriously and will address this matter with Mr. Tellier. We are committed to ensuring that all our staff members uphold the highest level of professionalism and treat our students and their families with the respect they deserve.
We sincerely apologize for any humiliation or distress caused to your daughter during her driving test. It's our responsibility to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere, and we regret that this was not the case. We appreciate your recognition of Mr. Brown's positive contribution and will ensure that your feedback reaches him.
We value your feedback and will use it to improve our services and create a better experience for our students and their families. If there's anything we can do to rectify the situation or if you have any further concerns, please reach out to us directly. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrendous receptionist.
Negative experience: the only good person here is mr brown. the front desk man is rude as can be. glad i finally finished my driving/classes with them. so i never have to see mr lee again.
Negative experience: Completely unprofessional, I went for advice and price and the older gentleman that’s on your right once you open the door named Leo Tellier, began to tell me that’s it’s expensive and has no space till February for my daughter. I asked him to put me down for February and he said no because he has no space. ( Like what )At that moment I realized who I’m dealing with. Those that know KNOW.
Negative experience: The man at the front desk was very rude and asked personal questions that didn’t involve the course and demanded the answer, would never recommend and has left a bad taste in me, no clue how someone could dream of giving more than one star!!!!!
Negative experience: The reception guy at this driving school was just awful. We took our son in just to give them the paperwork to schedule his test and he acted like he didn’t want that to happen. He was rude and mean on the phone and in person. I am a business owner so I understand how people are supposed to act. If this branch of Austin Driving School is struggling to get business, this guy is the reason why.
Negative experience: Austin Driving School was 1st option listed as 3rd party Testing site for bell county on DPS website. The Temple office representative was not knowledgeable regarding documentation required for parent taught driver education program. He unfortunately wasted our time ( 2 trips to their office)and caused undue frustration. He essentially insinuated that I ,the mother/parent instructor was attempting to provide fraudulent documentation related to our on line class room hours( the document was provided by XLR8 Driving School at completion of program). He asked for documents we did not have and nor did we need and refused to schedule a drive test until we we were unable to provide “unnecessary” documents. We ended up contacting and going through Bell County Drive School in Temple, very positive experience with Jan. Expeditious process ,friendly and professional at Bell county Driving school Temple Texas. She accepted all of our documentation and paperwork and worked with on scheduling a drive test to accommodate our needs, very knowledgeable regarding Parent Taught Driver Education unlike Austin Driving School in Temple.
Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE!! Heed the warning of the reviews. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with Corporate. When you call to get information on your child, they seem very bothered and angry. Mr. Brown is a great human being and instructor at this location. People like that need to be recognized. Mrs. Tellier yelled at my child while driving and then kept them in the car for a "lecture". So I called to see what the problem was and the older man at the front desk hung up on me three times. He also stated, "little girl I am half your age and have more experience than you do!" It was unreal how this whole situation was handled on his part. My question never got answered on why kids are being yelled at when they should be treated with respect and being taught how to drive and not with anger. Looking at all these reviews, how do they still have their jobs? This is how someone your age serves the community? Someone your age has the right to think you're better than everyone else? Your age allows you to be unprofessional and cocky about job security? That was a bad example on your part cause your behavior was that of a child. STAY AWAY.. Y'ALL HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Victoria, I am so sorry that you had this experience with our staff. Your feedback is much appreciated. Management will be taking care of this immediately.
Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would! I called and asked a question on yesterday, the female that answered the phone was very rude and had a nasty attitude. I am new to the area, military personnel and I was just trying to get information on the requirements for my daughter to get a license. I will never call there again and will caution military members in my unit.
Fantastic experience: I like the instructors here, they're nice and we get what we need from them.
