Western Slope Driving Institute - Littleton: Reviews
Negative experience: I left work early to take my two daughters to the Littleton location, which advertises walk-in driving tests both on the website and on the business window... we tried to call ahead to verify, but nobody answers the phone. When we arrived we were told tests are not administered at the Littleton location. The employee gave us a list of other locations to go and suggested we call ahead to check on the wait times. We tried calling two of the other locations and neither answered the phone. When we drove across town to the Centennial location, the employee was sitting behind the desk (not on the phone, so not sure why she didn't answer when we called) and we were told they couldn't accommodate us since they had too many people waiting. For the price we pay for these tests, I expected a better experience - and our experience hasn't even include the test yet!
Fantastic experience: Ashley and Kim are amazing and SO helpful! I had initially signed up with a different driving school. After we signed up, the wait to schedule a drive was over a month out. Ashley was able to get us in right away. They have been a joy to work with and my kids are learning and enjoying their lessons. HIGHLY recommended!
Negative experience: ABSOLUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. Let me start by saying my daughter filled her driving hours in 3 months, she loves to drive. When it came to the in-car instruction, the instructor slammed on her breaks in the middle of an intersection and scared my daughter to the point that she wouldn't drive for a month. I called WSDI and the owner, Dorene, called my daughter a liar and me a helicopter Mom. After much unnecessary argument with the owner, she finally gave my daughter a different instructor for her second drive. It's now time for her 3rd drive, and she can either use the instructor at Littleton, or we can drive all the way out to Parker. They will not refund me for unused lessons. The owner and her staff are the absolute worst to work with. Avoid at all costs. It's not worth the headaches.
 Shannon,
We have continuously accommodated you throughout your time with us. After you didn’t want to drive with our instructor, we made sure to get your daughter a different instructor. This was back in July 2024. Now, seven months later when your contract is almost up, you email saying you want a different instructor still, in which our only option is for you to go to our Parker office. We have given you options over and over, and just because you don’t like those options, doesn’t mean we’re the “headache.” Furthermore, clearly the option we gave you to go to our Parker office was fine, since you scheduled your daughter’s last drive there.
Negative experience: Buyer beware! In person driving lessons are contracted with an end date for use! The date is arbitrary, you are not notified that it is approaching, and if it passes, you will have to pay for the lessons again without apology. Customer service is lacking and greed prevails.
Everyone signs the same contract with us which clearly states your deadline on multiple pages, any fees that are incurred during your time with us, and we use a system for drive time that notifies you anytime drive time becomes available and that has your deadline date on it as well.
Fantastic experience: Ashley and Kim were so helpful and understanding. We had gotten ourselves into a predicament with the dmv, and they seriously went above and beyond to take care of my daughter. Emails were sent out multiple times confirming the rules and regulations to ensure we can and will be completely prepared for WDS. They made it very clear and upfront everything that we needed to do. They are very respectful. Very nice. And very professional. I felt completely comfortable and confident having my daughter drive around and learn from her. I can not thank them enough for their compassion for our situation. They're really their for your kiddos' best interest in mind. Whist I had an amazing experience, when we had walked in, Kim was getting ripped a new one by another mom with her daughter, who just got back from her behind the wheel drive. I watched Kim explain to the lady that she(kim) is only doing her job and following the laws of Colorado roads and teaching new drivers how to be safe and confident. Even while she was being beaten down by someone ,who in all reality, just came in unprepared, Kim still managed to stay calm and professional during and after the interaction. She didn't let that mess up her time with my daughter at all. It just made me appreciate them even more I highly recommend them and will continue to!
Fantastic experience: The people here were more than helpful and willing to accommodate my needs to help me get the last thing done that I needed before getting my license. Kim, my instructor, is a very nice, professional, and understanding lady and made me feel very comfortable during all my drives with her. Her daughter, Ashley, made me feel very welcome and comfortable with the place from the start and went out of her way to help me schedule the drives I needed. Very great place and very great people! Thank you!
Negative experience: This place is very disappointing. I wish I had listened to the reviews and stayed away. Our daughter will get her permit next summer and we will definitely go somewhere else. Safe yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!
Fantastic experience: Was leary at first because of some past reviews... couldn't be farther from the case for us! All of the staff has been accommodating, friendly, and professional. Found the value to be very good, my daughter enjoyed the classroom portion, and everything was very well setup to make the trip to DMV easy. Thanks for a great experience!
Fantastic experience: I did not realize the DMV was not doing driving tests. I contacted Western Slope Driving institute and Doreen was very helpful. I was so stressed as we had the DMV appointment for months. She answered all my questions and was able to make it quick and easy for my daughter to get in and take her drivers test. She gave her quality feedback. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. Thank you, ladies!
Thank you so much for you feedback Stacey!
Negative experience: Worst experience ever
Fantastic experience: The Western Slope Driving Institute in Littleton South was the best experience I’ve had. Their service was great and my driving instructor was very nice and sweet. 100% would recommend :).
Thanks for the review!
Negative experience: DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! The teachers are complete jerks and liars. They did not send me any emails to fill out about the safety of my child, and instead screamed at my child telling her that I need to fill them out. Not only that but when I called about the emails, the lady at the front desk was complaining to me about how 'frazzled' she was with the ten students she had all week. This was a complete rip-off and is highly Unrecommended.

Fantastic experience: My son had a fine experience with their behind the wheel instructors. He always said they were very patience and knowledgeable.
 Hi Natalie,
Thank you for the review!
Negative experience: I would HIGHLY recommend you DON'T send your kid to this driving school. The lady - Doreen - at the desk is VERY RUDE and acted as if I was bothering her when I walked in with my son. She then asked why we were there early (we were 10 min early) and she acted as if it was a problem. Doreen took a copy of my son's permit and I then left my son there to take his driving lesson. She then later -after I left -noted that it was expired and sent my son home and fined us $80 (she should check prior to the parent leaving). They are not tolerant of any issue (we didn't know the permit was expired) and they will FINE you for any reason they can. Again I highly suggest you find an alternate school to this one!
Fantastic experience: I had a great driving experience. My instructor made my day. Thank you
 Hi Tammy,
Glad we could help you!
Negative experience: Driving instructor was a complete jerk. Yelled frequently. Screamed at me when I accidentally curbed one wheel. When the test was done I was told he was going to "pity pass" me but he had to automatically fail me because he had to use his breaks when he yelled at me to turn even though there was a car coming. He gave me $5 off my next test. Wooo a whole $5 off a $65 test! I left in tears, and cried while my friend drove me home. Needless to say I will not be returning, I don't want to pay $65 to be screamed at and mocked. Don't take your kids here, I suggest A+ Driving or Cruisers!
Xahndra, after some research, it looks like you have never taken a test with us. Also, we do not "pity pass" people. We are a state regulated business and we do not need to fail someone just because. That is something that we take very seriously and it is also against the law to do so. Our testers do not yell and scream at people during the test because we are a company that takes professionalism very seriously. It is also somewhat interesting that you mention two companies that offer the same service, yet you came to us. If you have any future questions about this, please let us know.

Negative experience: Hours online do not match hours irl. Very unprofessional of them not to update hours or stick to them. Waited an hour for them to open called in several times to no answer. Do NOT trust them with your child if they can''t even get their hours right.
Brendon, WSDI is closed for the holiday weekend in observation of Independence Day. We find it important that our families have time off to regroup during this time frame and during the weekend leading up to the 4th of July. We do reserve the right to close down and give our employees very needed time off to relax and spend time with their families. We are not answering phone calls because no one is in the office to answer them. We closed Friday at 2pm at all of our locations Colorado wide and will reopen Wednesday. Western Slope Driving Institute is trusted by thousands of families a year to give their students the best driver training that a school has to offer. We close for all major holidays as well. Have a Happy Independence Day.
Negative experience: Do not take your teens to this place! The instructors are retired or fired ex policemen who use their experience to harras and intimidate instead of teaching and being patient. My underage 16 year old son had a horrible experience with his instructor Charlie. Charlie is an ex cop who treated my son like a criminal after my son could not answer one of his questions. His questions should have been directed to a parent or guardian not an underage teen. He asked my son regarding his completed driving hours. My son answered that he did not know the total amount; and began to explain that his driving time had consisted of him driving to and from school. Immediately Charlie interrupted my son and did not allow him to continue explaining that I (his mother) personally sit in the passenger seat with him every morning and allow him to drive to school and back home when I pick him up. Charlie assumed that my son was braking the law and began to scream, demean, and curse at my son. Charlie put my son's life in danger by making him operate a vehicle under the emotional and physical pressure of having a person of "authority" screaming in his ear the whole ride back. Charlie told my son that "Because people like him (my 16 year old son)our society is the way that it is" I did not pay $425.00 to have my son stereotyped, verbally abused, and then also be charged and additional $80 for the cancellation of the class. I have now enrolled my son with Mile High Driver Training, located on 1060 S. Rarritan St. I strongly recommend them! They are very professional, friendly, and ethical.
Negative experience: DO NOT SEND YOU KID TO THIS DRIVE SCHOOL!!! The classroom is fine, but the behind the wheel instructors are a bunch of ex-police bullies. My son was in tears after the first lesson. When I requested a different instructor for his 2nd drive time we were told that would not be a problem, but when we showed up it was the same man. It was a repeat of the first lesson. My son came home a wreck! If we hadn't pre-paid, we would have gone somewhere else. The third lesson was a different teacher who was just as bad. He slapped my son's hands while he was driving!!! These men don't even act like they like teenagers! They should definitely not be teaching!
Fantastic experience: Thank you for making this process so easy.. The staff very knowledgeable and professional.. This is a very important time in the lives of our children.. Keeping them safe, teaching them as much as possible the skills of the road. Your school did a fantastic job instructing our daughter!
Thanks for the feedback Julie!
Fantastic experience: I walked in here while waiting for the DMV. They let me use thier printer, gave me some bottled water and we wicked nice in General. Thanks WSDI
Thanks for the review, Graham!
Fantastic experience: Truly appreciate knowing that my son is being taught by those who takes this duty seriously. Having responded to many accidents, including many teen accidents, these professionals know what our kids need. Easy to work with, and professional all the way! Thank you for making a mom a little more comfortable about her teen driving.
