West Michigan Driving Academy

Negative experience: Put your business hours online for people to see when you are open. I have no idea when this school is open.so guess i will not come in now. That is a big inconvenience for me and everyone else trying to attend on time. I have no idea when this place opens up because it is not listed on the website or on Google.

Fantastic experience: West Michigan Driving Academy gets a solid 5/5. The teacher, Mr. Walters, was great. And then there’s Bob Walters.. Two Bob Walters, same school, no relation. You can’t make this up. Both were excellent at what they did, and somehow, despite the name confusion, everything ran smoothly. It’s a testament to how well this place operates. If you’re serious about taking your kid to driving school, look no further. And if you end up with Mr. Walters or Mr. Walters, consider yourself in good hands.

Negative experience: Came here to get private driving lessons and this place seems so unprofessional. No hours available, you don’t even know when they open or close. Every time I went up here, there was no one there, always someone outside practicing, but no one to schedule with or nothing. They want you to call the owner, I called the owner twice and their phone didn’t even work. I told them that I wanted to get some practice in, and they responded (by text), and told me I needed an updated permit, the permit I had was expired (why would I send a pic of an expired permit?), I needed to get it renewed, and so I did, by the time I received my new permit and sent a pic to the owner, he had already blocked my number. So weird. I just scheduled an appointment with Mosley’s, they seem more easier to work with.

Fantastic experience: I learned how to be a safe driver. Mrs. Vanderstelt was an extremely exceptional driving teacher, I really enjoyed the class.

Fantastic experience: Easily one of the best places in the area to get your driver's test. Jerry is such a nice instructor and provides all instructions in a nice, calm manner. Test route warms you up on the lower traffic roads and then brings you to high traffic areas, all within the span of 30 mins or so. Thanks Jerry!

Fantastic experience: I went here for my road test. Jerry was awesome! So calm and really kind. I was very nervous at the beginning when we did the parking test, but after he took me to the road and with him being so calm and clear at instructions i feel so relaxed and pass the test! I highly recommend doing the road test here with Jerry. Thank you Jerry!

Fantastic experience: Bob and the team were so great with my kiddo. They offered feedback so I could assist my kid at home, and worked with them to make sure they had the best experience. Bob even took them on individual drives to gives better instruction. Even though we decided, for public safety (my kiddo isn't ready, and they (kiddo) agrees), to wait to continue with driving, Bob was super understanding. I appreciate the team so much.

Fantastic experience: Great teachers

Positive experience: Went to the driving academy to take the road test. The instructor communicated clearly and explained requirements fully. The parking portion took part in their parking lot so I didn't have to worry about interference from other cars. The parking was straightforward and the instructor explained the mistake I made parallel parking (I botched that part a bit). The road portion felt fair. It started on quiet residential roads and built up to busier areas, giving me time to get used to being tested. The instructor gave notice to turn well ahead of time. The only negative issue I had was it took couple of times to get a hold of them to schedule the appointment. I would probably recommend texting the number if your call goes to voicemail.

Fantastic experience: I know that the drivers test is something new they provide, but it is fantastic. Great process with a great instructor. If you live in the Muskegon area and need to do your drivers test, go here!
