A License To Drive: Reviews
Fantastic experience: They have a great program to teach teens to drive. Friendly and patient instructors. My daughter just finished the summer session. Highly recommend!
Thank you, Brandie! I have such a great team who are all passionate about providing the best experience possible. Thank you for your trust!
Fantastic experience: I'm on kid #2 going through this program. Everyone here is super friendly. They have a clear process that works well. The kids learn to drive in mid-sized cars that are comparable to the size most likely get for a first vehicle. A huge benefit as well is that the kids can go back there to take the driving portion of their license test. I'll acknowledge that the website is lacking, and they often do not answer the phone. I actually found out why on the phone answering - many instructors are also teachers during the school day! Despite the dated website and non-answered phones, they are very responsive via email and do a fantastic job.
Fantastic experience: By far the best school to learn to drive, The owner Really puts the time and effort to teach the kids and manage everything. The instructors were really the best too I think it was a older woman she was good with lessons and if I'm not mistaken, i think it was Tabitha that made the lessons so much better and the learning experience just fun and the short younger one, props for them and all the staff. You can learn fast if you really cooperate and follow their policies.Simple
Negative experience: Lost my business, will not respond to calls or emails. Left two voice mails and 2 emails in 5 days with no response. Sad thing is they trained two of my other kids, they must not need the money.
I'm sorry Paul. Our office hours are usually Mon-Thurs from noon to 5pm. You emailed us on Friday, Aug 24 at 4:34pm. Monday, I was out of the office ill. I called you at 1:31pm today, Tuesday. I hope you are pleased with the other company.
Negative experience: The classes were very helpful! The driving sessions on the other hand weren’t so great. The first time I drove it was with a very nice lady it was great. Then the second and third time was with an older man mmmm it was horrible. He told me I wasn’t listening, grabbed the steering wheel from me, got mad when i said “uh” telling me uh is not a word but I was really nervous and terrified. When I almost went in the wrong lane he asked me if we were in Europe and we drive on the other side of the road. So over all it’s a good place with nice people but if you get the instructor Bob then I bid you good luck soldier. I suggest aiming for Sue she was really nice. So far I have only driven with these two people so I can’t talk about the other instructors.
Negative experience: School was fine, but maybe you can pick up the phone sometimes!
Fantastic experience: I made it my mission to get my license by the end of summer, and I did it. I was terrified to drive, but this school really boosted my confidence. I would recommend it for all ages (anyone that doesn't already have their license). The instructors were all nice and patient with me. Thank you all for helping me out. It was a great experience!!
Positive experience: This organization has been around for many years, however, short staffed! I think they could benefit from a full time Receptionist, just a thought.
Fantastic experience: Grateful my son had them to turn to during quarantine otherwise he would have had to wait much longer to get his drivers license. I was pleased they were able to clear up much Much confusion with follow up conversations and they were able to schedule my sons last remaining lessons on time.
Mrs. Schoberth, I am the owner of the driving school. Please make contact with me directly regarding this. While it does state in the contract you must be finished within 180 days, I have never turned a student away from finishing because of this, especially if they had actually completed some portion of their driving lessons. The reason for the 180 days is that some people were signing up to get the CDE form and then never signing up for drive times. They would then wait until the week before time to get a license and want to get all 6 lessons in immediately. This means these students were out there on the streets with no training.
Additionally, our driving lessons are scheduled so that each student gets 60 minutes of driving lesson per session. Yes, there are 2 or 3 students in a car at a time: lessons with 2 students are 2 hours long, and lessons with 3 students are 3 hours long. If this was not your experience, I need to know about that.
Finally, each and every driving lesson has a very specific lesson plan. Lessons allow students exposure to every type of driving in our area: we do residential, back roads, interstate, and city driving. The only time a student doesn't go on the interstate is if their car control skill are not steady enough to take them there. In this case, we have them practice merging onto and off of the highway onto 49 instead of I-94 or I-65. Again, if this was not your experience, I need to know about that.
By the way, my youngest instructor is in her 30's, not that her age is of any importance. She is an experienced and skilled instructor.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant staff
Positive experience: How much is this driving school
Negative experience: I spent $240 for an hour each driving lesson which was 4 lessons in 4 days. I was very disappointed in my last lesson. For the first half hour my instructor, who’s an older man, took me on a route that was under construction. Then the next half hour we did what he taught me my first lesson. He was loud with me, always telling me I’m not listening, and grab the wheel from me. I had this instructor the first and last day of my training. The second and third day was with a young lady who was good at teaching me. Only thing that I can say that I didn’t like was that she would cut our lessons short by 10-15 min. I’m paying a lot of money for just one hour so I’d expect my lesson to be just that. However, overall she was a great instructor. She never once yelled, grabbed the wheel while I’m driving, and she even wrote notes for me. She said I had improved on the 3rd day and that I shouldn’t be so hard on myself because I’m actually a good driver. Now my last day was just awful. I was apparently doing everything wrong and he continuously tells me “you weren’t like that on the first day. I don’t know what you’ve been taught by the other girl but you weren’t like that with me in first lesson”. He wasn’t patient at all and if you’re going to be teaching people then there has to be a new approach. He didn’t like that I tried parallel parking the way the young lady taught me on my second and third day and he seemed offended considering the first lesson he was trying to show me to parallel park. I’m just upset that my last day I was only really doing 30 min of driving when I’m paying for an hour and all he did was tell me I’m doing everything wrong. Not only that but when the lesson ended he’s like “ok give me the keys”. And I said “that’s it?” And he goes “yeah what else you want ?” He wasn’t even going to tell me how I did or give me any notes. So I asked him “well how’d I do, you don’t have any notes for me? Do you think I should drive for a little longer more before going to the dmv or do you think I can pass the driving test?” To which he responded and chuckled at “I can’t tell you if youre going to pass your test? That’s on you. You need to practice more on parallel.” And it this point I’m so disappointed my last lesson was such a waste and $60 of that lesson went to 30 min of nothinggg. I didn’t even get offered 30 min extra considering we were so backed up because of traffic. Just very disappointing.
Hi, Alex. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I have been in business since 1993 and pride myself in the fact that i pour everything I can into offering quality instruction to my students. I am passionate about making the roads safer for everyone! I am disappointed that you didn't contact me to talk about your concerns, but I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you at your earliest convenience. I have reviewed the instructor notes from your lessons and all seem quite positive. I will speak to the instructors with whom you drove to see if they can offer any additional insight. Again, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
